Not sure how I have never stumbled across the theater, but today was the day. This theater had the most comfortable seats ever. I'm so glad that I went to see Wicked 2 at this movie theater. The theater was very clean and had plenty of staff that were very helpful as far as checking in our tickets and serving a snacks. The theater is itself was very clean and very spacious. But can we talk about the seats? These were the most comfortable seats that I have ever sat in while watching a movie. It was so cozy. They have seat warmers and I stayed warm the entire time. Unfortunately, I did not get his name. He was african-american. He was about 20 years old and, to the best of my recollection, I believe he had dreadlocks as well. Medium to smaller frame perhaps? Anyways, he was so nice and so friendly. He opened the doors for me. He was cleaning and he was doing a nice job with that as well. He said, "thank you." He said things like, "I'm glad you enjoyed the movie." He came in after the movie as me and the ladies next to me were kind of dancing in our seats. He started dancing with us from a distance where he was standing too. He was just a lot of fun and so very friendly, warm & welcoming. This is a pretty standard movie theater! I've only ever been to AMCs the last few years, which have been totally all across the board (I've had 2-star and 5-star experiences). This was my first time ever at a Cinemark and I liked my experience. I saw Dune 2 and pre-ordered my ticket a few hours in advance. Pulling up to the theater, the parking lot is HUGE and right out in front of the movie theater. This theater itself is very big, too, and they had a game room / small arcade inside. I didn't get any snacks so I'm not too sure about pricing for their concessions, but the ticket in my opinion was very affordable. It was around $8 for standard seating; since I paid online it was just over $10 including tax and any convenience fees. I don't see movie tickets that cheap elsewhere really. One thing I will say that made me dock a star in my review - the seats are literally all ripped. If you see other pictures on this Yelp page, you will see what I mean. I was in my coat and long pants so I didn't care that much, but they were kind of gross looking. The area around us was clean, it's just the seats definitely look off-putting and old. The screens are big and I do like how the theaters look in general. They had a big bathroom, as well. This theater definitely needs some updating but it's not terrible. Saw Deadpool wolverine in 3D. The 3D was wonderful. The action was great. The sound was excellent. The seats were recliners with cup holders and heat. Some parts of the movie where unnecessarily vulgar. Lots of blood and guts. Plenty of action throughout the whole movie. And yes some great humor. Definitely use to love coming here over the years. First time back here in almost 6 years and this is what we see when we go to sit down in our seats. Just gross and disgraceful. Looking around the theater most of the seats are worn and gross looking. Huge disappointment and sad to say I will not be paying to see movies at this cinemark in raggedy seats again. Definitely not my first choice, the general crowd that comes here does not take care of this place. Somewhat filthy but manageable I guess. Anywho, I only seem to come here for the overnight premieres & this was my third time doing so. We caught the Super Mario movie which was a little underwhelming for me but that's besides the point. I like the convenience of purchasing our tickets online & walked right in. I also like the fact that it is assigned seating & the recliners with seat warmers are a plus. The leather seats are not taken care of though, as there were scratches on almost every other chair. All in all this spot is not bad, just needs some cleaning up. People need to understand, they as customers need to appreciate the amenities and take care of them as others will also need to enjoy them! read more

They opened up in March. I'm a huge fan. I had no idea how awesome this theater is. They have these amazing comfy recliners that heat up! OMG. I love that. Decent theater with great matinee prices and very comfy seats for those movies with those long running times. We came here to see Tenet and I am glad we had the reclining seats. I was happy to see that they were spacing people out in the seats. No idea on the food as I rarely eat anything at a theater unless they have alcohol and real food. Sound system is good. The seats are heated....I don't get that at all, but The Queen and my BFF had those damn heaters on. I hit mine by mistake and found my butt getting seriously warm. Many seats are in horrible condition. Many broken and don't recline. Sucks because you don't know the condition of the seats when you pick your seats at the time of purchase. They should make sure all seats work or not sell tickets for the broken seats or at the bare minimum advise the seat condition at the time of purchase. The seats were amazing, and the service was good. This place could easily make DOUBLE what it brings in every night if it invited a slightly different crowd. Honestly, you can't police every action that goes on but it seems like people pick and choose where and when to act foolishly. Particularly, in our theater, someone decided to start smoking an e-cig with marijuana. An action like that is of no fault of the establishment if no one reports it. Anyway, they have a lot of young people working here, and surprisingly, they do their job well. Good time, no problems, and we really enjoyed the seats. They recline back pretty far, they have seat warmers, and each row is divided so your not really bothered by the row behind you. read more

Melrose Cinemark finally have new theaters with better seats!! I went Friday to see Avengers Endgame (GO SEE IT) and I was worried because the movie is three hours long and so I was wondering how the hell I was going to make it 3 hrs sitting in those old uncomfortable springy seats. Cinemark had me covered though. They got new recliners that have a heating and cooling setting and the theater finally installed a system that allows you to pick your seats. We're moving on up out here! They still haven't put the Baja Dog back on the menu but whatever, baby steps rights? Anyway, I love it!! And can't wait to enjoy movies here this summer. read more

Great matinee prices, comfy seats, nice location. The artwork on the walls of the theatre are a nice touch, displaying its history. The Lyft driver I conversed with after the film, stated that this location as well has $5 matinee prices for the first films in a room of the day. That's amazing. Also any other matinee price is $7. This theater gets four stars for the comfy lounge seats and the very cheap price everyday of the week!!! If you just want to see a movie close to home and kick your feet up this is the place. I did like this Cinemark location up until yesterday. I purchased Batman tickets and took my daughters to go see it. It was the first show of the day. I brought popcorn & soda. My girls wanted water so I asked for two courtesy cups. The cashier goes to get them but comes back and says they're all out. Really??!! This is the first movie of the day and you're "all out". I said ok, then please give me 2 small cups. He said ok but I have to charge you for them. I said ok, how much is it. He said $4.50 per cup. What??!!!! I said no it can't be. I have been to this particular Cinemark movie theater more than 8 times. The matinee show prices are very reasonable ($6 and change). I have never been here in the late afternoon (or evening) so my review is based solely on matinee experiences/shows/films. The theater is clean. The bathrooms are clean. The theater seats recline but the back portion of the seat (head rest) is NOT adjustable. The seats recline in an almost laying down position so I don't recline for this reason. There is ample parking and it is FREE parking. There is only 1 parking space for an electric car to charge up so if you drive an electric car good luck getting to that ONE space to charge up your vehicle. I usually go across the street to the Dollar Tree store to buy my snacks before going to Cinemark. People are well-behaved (for the most part) and I have not had a negative experience here. There are tons of restaurants nearby too (the Olive Garden, Baker's Square, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Boston Market, McDonald's and many others). I also like that this Cinemark theater has matinee movies during the week. I have come on weekends and during the week. It is much emptier during the week, but I don't mind having the movie theater to myself (or almost). I recommend this theater for the matinee price point, cleanliness, and its location -- close to lots of restaurants, stores and Costco/Costco gas station. read more

I guess I'm really used to the regular amenities that most theaters have now...reclining seats, pre-pay for reserved seats, coca cola freestyle machines... But with Cinemark, it's dingy, the seats are worn and some are broken. Customer service is ok--and you can't just blame it on being teenagers. I've encountered many teens in other theaters who exhibit excellent customer service skills. You're just not going to get that stellar service here. The bathroom, even though it was early in the day, stunk grossly of urine. The movie sound and quality was good and it was fun to see a movie in a large theater with a large crowd. I guess I'm a bit of a movie theater snob. Lake Street Classic Cinemas in Oak Park and Showplace Icon on Roosevelt in Chicago have set a pretty high standard. Cinemark is much more of a typical theater. The employees are high school students who are still learning about customer service and haven't quite grasped it yet. Sometimes the theater floors are sticky and littered. Sometimes it's way too cold. You see? Typical, right? The up side of Cinemark is that it's a very large theater and has the capacity to show many more movies at many more times than either Lake Street or Icon. Furthermore the parking lot is HUGE! This place is by no means a "dump". It's fairly clean, not to mention large. Prices are moderate. The theater chairs are also really comfortable. Besides being really close to home, that's the upside. Unfortunately like many places in Melrose, the "ghettoness" factor brings the rating down in my world. I use the term "ghettoness" loosely, as it's not the kind of ghetto where you legitimately would fear for your life by catching a stray bullet in middle of the show, or your vehicle being on cinder blocks after the movie. But more-so the loud, obnoxious, wannabe "thugs" that have never heard of a belt (besides being whipped with one as a child), & constantly talk during the movie. Providing that there are places in the vicinity where you don't have to deal with as much obnoxious riff raff, it really makes the Cinemark not worth going to for the most part. 7 times out of 10 I'll endure the crowded downtown Elmhurst area at the York over this place. It's a shame, because much like the Ruby Tuesday right across from this theater, it could be much nicer if it weren't for the people. read more

LAST PLACE I"LL GO! ghetto! I saw the exorcist a while back and three girls were drinking flasks of who knows what! talking through the movie and yelling at ppl and the screen. Another time a couple brought their kids 5 and 3-ish to see R rated movie. they must of bought tickets for something else and snuck in because I don't want to believe the ticket counter solder those tickets! it's dirty and on the weekends seems understaffed. or maybe the staff is tired of the public's disrespect? they are cheap, but you get what you pay for.
