This is a pretty standard movie theater! I've only ever been to AMCs the last few years, which have been totally all across the board (I've had 2-star and 5-star experiences). This was my first time ever at a Cinemark and I liked my experience. I saw Dune 2 and pre-ordered my ticket a few hours in advance. Pulling up to the theater, the parking lot is HUGE and right out in front of the movie theater. This theater itself is very big, too, and they had a game room / small arcade inside. I didn't get any snacks so I'm not too sure about pricing for their concessions, but the ticket in my opinion was very affordable. It was around $8 for standard seating; since I paid online it was just over $10 including tax and any convenience fees. I don't see movie tickets that cheap elsewhere really. One thing I will say that made me dock a star in my review - the seats are literally all ripped. If you see other pictures on this Yelp page, you will see what I mean. I was in my coat and long pants so I didn't care that much, but they were kind of gross looking. The area around us was clean, it's just the seats definitely look off-putting and old. The screens are big and I do like how the theaters look in general. They had a big bathroom, as well. This theater definitely needs some updating but it's not terrible. Nonetheless, I would come here again!

Saw Deadpool wolverine in 3D. The 3D was wonderful. The action was great. The sound was excellent. The seats were recliners with cup holders and heat. Some parts of the movie where unnecessarily vulgar. Lots of blood and guts. Plenty of action throughout the whole movie. And yes some great humor. The theater decor is marvelous and the staff was very friendly.

Definitely use to love coming here over the years. First time back here in almost 6 years and this is what we see when we go to sit down in our seats. Just gross and disgraceful. Looking around the theater most of the seats are worn and gross looking. Huge disappointment and sad to say I will not be paying to see movies at this cinemark in raggedy seats again. I'll pay extra to AMC for better quality seats.

This theater is great. Super clean, comfy chairs, and not too packed. You can order your tickets online in advance so that you can choose your preferred seats. Best theater in the area.

Melrose Cinemark finally have new theaters with better seats!! I went Friday to see Avengers Endgame (GO SEE IT) and I was worried because the movie is three hours long and so I was wondering how the hell I was going to make it 3 hrs sitting in those old uncomfortable springy seats. Cinemark had me covered though. They got new recliners that have a heating and cooling setting and the theater finally installed a system that allows you to pick your seats. We're moving on up out here! They still haven't put the Baja Dog back on the menu but whatever, baby steps rights? Anyway, I love it!! And can't wait to enjoy movies here this summer.

Great matinee prices, comfy seats, nice location. The artwork on the walls of the theatre are a nice touch, displaying its history. The Lyft driver I conversed with after the film, stated that this location as well has $5 matinee prices for the first films in a room of the day. That's amazing. Also any other matinee price is $7. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this theatre over any other's. They have 3D films here too.

This place is disgusting. All the seats look horrible. Trash all over the floor.

This place is disgusting. All the seats look like this. The theater is not clean either! I never seen a theater this bad.

These are the chairs Cinemark had their customers sit on for the movie Wakanda Forever. Disgusting!

My family and I frequent this theater and usually enjoy it and the service. It's a bit pricey but most theaters today are. Day before Thanksgiving, we saw Wakanda Forever. I couldn't believe the seating... Old recliners with peeling and ripped materials. No full padding. I've never experienced this from this theater before. I spent a lot of money for very poor service. Beware if you visit this theater in Melrose Park, IL

These are the seats.

We got the package that included the pizza, birthday cake and goodie bags. This package included juice and ice cream, table cloths and even a balloon for each child. My kids loved the play land and the kids seemed happy and busy enough. The person in charge of our party was Jean. Jean was amazing!!!!! She led that party like an expert. After the kids played in the play land Jean took them into another room to play some games using the parachute. They play a game of "popcorn" and they sang a song about farm animals. At the end of all that fun my daughter got to sit in the middle of the parachute and pretend she was on a flying carpet! It was so beautiful and she loved it. After the parachute activities, the kids were led to the bathroom to wash their hands and then back to the party room to have some pizza and juice. After they ate the kids were allowed to play a little bit more in the play land. Finally Jean called them out and had them grab their shoes and head back to the table for cake and ice cream. The cake was beautiful and enough for 20 kids. They even had 5 candles for the cake. When the party was over Jean gave the kids a goodie bag and a balloon as they were leaving! She was amazing. The most stress free party in the history of birthday parties. Worth every penny!

Also when you party is over you aren't rushed and kicked out! There is parking in their lot or on the streets. It's also located in a safe area. The community center hosts other events that I will definitely check out as well. Reasonable prices and clean, big space make this an awesome event choice.

If you have a small-to-mid-sized event to host then I strongly encourage you to have it here. We came for a friend's birthday party and had an absolute blast. The main (ground floor) room offered exactly what was needed for the gathering: ample space to mingle, a central bar, a plethora of places to sit, a clean bathroom, amazing food, and an even more amazing staff. (I also heard the upstairs is really cool but didn't get a look for myself) Our group was not large, and not particularly rowdy*, but the space and the level of service made it feel much more intimate. From the moment we walked in the door we felt warmly welcomed by everyone. The bartender made quick work of all drink orders and the serving of the food was perfectly timed. Speaking of the food: wow. It was DELICIOUS! I had three full plates myself. And I took some leftovers home. Incredible edibles! But another word about the staff, because they really made this whole experience... not only were they friendly but they were Johnny On The Spot with cleaning everything up. No plate was left for more than a minute without being scooped up and no drink was left spilled either. Additionally, towards the end of the night, *someone had had just a bit too much fun but the staff was totally cool and completely helpful. They are top notch. As you can tell, I can go on and on. But I'll stop here and close with: Have your next event here, you will not regret it!

We decided to stop by Pleasant Home since we were in Oak Park for a tour of (you guessed it) the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio. Pleasant Home was a bit of a disappointment for us, but it was probably partly our fault. I was dragging our group around to look at historic buildings all weekend, and I was a bit worried the two people less interested in architecture were beginning to get bored. When we arrived at Pleasant Home, I saw they offered guided and self-guided tours. Because I was worried a long tour might be the breaking point for two of our group, we opted for the self-guided to keep it a bit shorter. What I didn't realize is that if you do the self-guided tour, you are limited to the bottom floor of the home. You are given a single laminated sheet of paper with the floor plan and some very basic information about the house. On top of that, the bottom floor of the house has no furniture in it (with a couple of exceptions - two tables maybe?). So, while the price for the self-guided tour was reasonable (only $5 per person), you basically have access to five or so rooms with no furniture in them. We were in and out in about 15 minutes. The house is beautiful (although the lighting seemed very low, making the house appear very dark), but I cannot recommend a self-guided tour. If you're interested in the house, pay the extra $5 and arrive on the hour for a guided tour. You'll get to go upstairs and learn more about the house than what is on the laminated floor plan guide. It might be a wonderful guided tour, I can only say that the self-guided tour option is not worth doing.
