    Previews in IMAX theater 8
    Haru S.

I was excited to come here in the middle of the week on one of my days off to watch HTTYD 3 in the IMAX theater. But for a $20 ticket price, I was honestly expecting more. I had to move seats a few times before the movie started as I found sticky residue on surfaces I wasn't expecting. And the seats weren't all that comfortable. They look like recliners but are not, and we're so stiff my tailbone was sore by the end of the film. At least the movie played smoothly, and the theater was nearly completely empty. I probably won't be coming here again. Sure there's popcorn and other snacks, but the Exton Movie Tavern is closer, more affordable, and serves actual food and drinks (of the alcoholic variety). Though IMAX is this Regal's one redeeming factor over MT, it needs a serious facelift.

It was ok considering it was the holiday season the lines weren't bad. The theater was pretty clean. Snacks as always are over priced.

Regal Downingtown is the best theatre around IMO - ever since the upgraded to reclining leather seats.

Handfuls upon handfuls of trash from under the seat needed to be sifted through just to find the phone. No wipes to clean it, either. Gross!! Disgusting place. You're sitting under years of trash swept under the chairs. Check under your reclined seats as soon as you enter your movie for garbage! Keep antibacterial wipes on standby incase it happens to you - they don't offer any for items that come into contact with their hygienic laziness, despite grease and debris being evident on it. There is an absolute health violation under those seats.

Recently, I've seen Wicked and Mufasa here. You can order food/drinks ahead on the app or in person at the bar or ordering counter. They deliver everything right to your seats and you can select the time of delivery. The food is pricey, but you can get a full meal here. I would say the pricing is comparable with other movie theaters, but the variety and food quality is better. I love their chicken sliders! The sweet potato waffle fries are also good... I love the honey mustard dipping sauce! Overall, I think this is the best movie theater in the area. They have a full bar, tons of food options, comfy seats, and friendly staff.

I went…read moreto college at University of Delaware so I did come to this movie theater location a little more often when I was younger, and it's kept its local college town charm while moving up to modern times. I went to a mid-day movie time during the work week so it was not crowded at all. I decided not to buy my tickets until I arrived due to the service fee of $3 and knowing I didn't have to worry about it getting sold out or not having seats that I would like. That's the number one change here that I appreciate and that's the selection of the seat. The main reason I cannot give this theater 5 stars is because while the seats function well the "leather" is severely damaged (at least they were in #5 theater). I also prefer the stadium seating though the recline of the seats do help to limit the seats in front of your row being in view. The bathroom was pretty clean and immediately after the show ended the staff was cleaning; not much since was only 4 people in my movie showing. Overall a good local theater that provides everything one would expect.

Speakers crack, the ceiling rattles and just makes the experience simply not enjoyable. Prices are incredibly high. Nachos, 3 boxes of candy, 4 chicken fingers and 2 drinks $60. All the seats were excessively worn. Some so bad they had holes in them. Overall very disappointed.

The Imax theater provided a terrific experience, especially for seeing the Christopher Nolan version of The Odyssey. The place is loud, too loud, really -- the biggest strike against it. The ever-rumbling bass in the movie's soundtrack blotted out some actual dialogue. The Odyssey as a movie was terrific. A masculine perspective -- but you did quickly see just what made this story perennially popular. A man must go to war when duty ordains it, even though no one wants to and the object is to get back the wife of another Greek king after she had run off with a young, handsome stranger. Ten years of war and everyone wants to get home ASAP after the victory. But Odysseus chooses a different route and the trouble begins. A great series of challenges unfolds, to make his return to a beloved wife, son and his own kingdom nearly impossible. That is the story, and the yearning for a whole family and a regular life is overpowering. It seems like it just can't happen, and he will be stuck on that desert island with Charlize Theron forever, poor guy. Glad we saw it. But it was a bit too loud. Previews of coming attractions are pitched somewhere near 10,000 decibels. Also, the chairs recline so much they were even a little difficult to climb out of.... But I am not complaining! I was glad to be there! Oh, yes, the $8 matinee was most welcoming, too. A little touch of Zeus's Law.
