Did the make her happy thing and went to watch Barbie! Yes Barbie! The movie itself was a historical recap of Barbies exploits with a bit of infomercial tossed in. That said. The movie rates a three but Ryan Gosling won new respect from me. I always knew he could act but he blew my mind with his ability to Dance! Sing and act. He's a real triple threat. His singing was good for the purpose of the film. His acting was superb. What can I say about Margot Robbie. Excellent role playing and acting ability. Watched a movie here yesterday. Ticket and refreshments purchase at concessions was fine. Theater unfortunately smelled bad, like dirty carpets, and the chairs were so uncomfortable they caused me a back problem at the end of the movie. It's worth paying more for the luxury reclining seats elsewhere. read more

Probably one of the worst theaters I've ever been. Movie start time is at 315pm. I was hit with 40 mins of straight ads. I was super close to walking out. They don't the lights off, so during horror trailers if it's dark, you can't see the trailer. It's a bad experience all around. read more

Before I can start this review I must say the reason I came to this theater is Because I won free tickets from Yelp. That being said the Theater is immaculate pristine radiant. It's style is a cross between the old and the new styles of theaters. The theater is at its core is a Megaplex it has top of the line modern technology large screens, comfortable seats with cup holders and a plethora of movie rooms. The theater also has a large staircase with red carpets with velvet ropes. Older theatre with restrooms on second floor. I can't give it more than four stars just based on the age of theatre and how stuffy I felt inside. Allergies kicked inn immediately. I have to say the sound and picture was pretty good for the age and service on the upper end of pretty good as theaters go, so not all that bad. Seats didn't recline or have high backs, but had good cushioning. I can't speak to prices as i was there for a free preview but have to think this place can't be charging more than $12 a movie. read more

Super clean and well managed theater. Drove further to this theater for the movie times, fair prices and easy access to this location. 20 minutes worth of several great trailers so it went by quick. Sound scheme is pretty good here and the movie began on time. Parking is a breeze. Restroom was spotless. Nothing fancy here, just a good place to experience a great movie. No distracting gimmicks. As a Regal Unlimited™ subscriber, Regal Edwards Metro Pointe is the location I visit most frequently because it's only a few minutes away from where I live. I'm not sure why it doesn't have 4 or 5 stars! The theatre is always clean, the staff is always friendly, and they always have advanced screenings of the movies everyone is looking forward to seeing. While the movie theatre itself is small and a little on the older side, they make it work. The picture and sound quality are always fantastic, and I have zero complaints! read more

I won complimentary tickets from Yelp to attend a screening of the movie, "Richard Jewell". First of all, that movie is AMAZING!!! Clint Eastwood does it again!! I never knew much about this theater, but wouldn't mind coming back here. It's located in a small shopping center across from the south coast plaza. The parking structure is next to the stores and theater, which is a good walking distance. While waiting for your movie to start, there are a lot of food places around the theater. This theater is pretty small compare to other Regal theaters. The restrooms are upstairs as for the all gender restrooms are downstairs. Inside the theater is pretty spacious and has great leg room. The seats are pretty bouncy, but comfy. They haven't upgraded their seats yet to the recliners, but I honestly like these seats better than the recliners. read more

Their system was down and we waited for 40 minutes. 15 were after the movie start time. Systems going down is normal but their was no communication from the three staff that were there to the customers waiting outside. No apology. No customer service offering. Chose the very back row for theater 11 to watch the Maleficent movie and I kid you not, the seats the row below us were totally obstructing portions of the screen. I am not extremely short, but for someone who is 5'4 I had to look between the seats to view the movie. I used to like going here to watch a movie, in fact it's been awhile since I've gone here. However, watching Transformers only gave me time to critique the overall theater experience I had here. Things I didn't mind - I didn't mind the guy with the booming voice who greets you in the front and says "Welcome to Edwards Cinema", I actually found him endearing Things I did mind - there was no air in the theater - if tickets are overpriced, perhaps it doesn't hurt to invest in air - it doesn't hurt to clean the cupholders either - the reason i say this is because it's disgusting pulling your water bottle from the cupholders and seeing the stretch capacity of the gum attached to the water bottle - air circulation is a must, and since I keep mentioning it every couple of times, please pay the extra charges on the electric bill because having to sit and watch Transformers for that long with no air is pure and sincere torture read more

I came here to watch Deadpool 2 on my birthday. I was really happy this place is part of a shopping center with a huge parking structure. Parking was a breeze and it's free! They offered a great matinee price compared to other theaters in the area. Enjoyed the movie and enjoyed the seat I was in. the theater was pretty clean and I was able to get my concessions pretty fast. I would come here again when in the area. read more

It's not every day that I venture out of my south county bubble to see a movie. I live next to a movie theater, after all. My friend invited me out to check out Birds of Prey and I made my way to South Coast. First of all, parking is easily found underground in the parking structure. Follow the signs for the movie theater because everyone seems to park on the retail side closest to Nordstrom. If you park where it directs you for the theater, there will be plenty of spaces for you within walking distance of the escalator and elevator that will take you up to the theater. The theater we saw the movie in was spacious and the seats were comfortable. I had been here before for a different movie but it was years ago and I don't remember what I saw. I do know that this theater has ample parking and is centrally located to shopping as it is across the street from SCP. The staff was cordial and they do check for tickets. Concessions are on the pricey side these days but as a Regal Unlimited member, I get discounts on food and drinks, but not alcohol. read more

Living next to this location, they've always been our go-to spot. Staff is always great and the place is clean. HOWEVER, their projectors are unwatchable now. I don't know if they just let their equipment rot over the COVID closure, or management just chooses to not prioritize their projectors, but they are really bad now. Every screen either has a hot spot (bright, washed out spot) or the whole screen is washed out. We've noticed it the last few time we've been there in different screens, but it was most noticeable in the latest Batman movie where most of the movie is dark... every shadow was a shade of blue due to the lack of contrast. We can no longer go to this location because we can't enjoy the movies shown. Which sucks for us since we're walking distance and this is part of our community. PLEASE fix your projectors! read more

An older theater that offers new releases and is adequately maintained. Located in the Metro Pointe shopping center across the street from South Coast Plaza, this is perhaps the largest movie theater in Costa Mesa. Back in its heyday, it was the premiere destination to go for new movies. There would be lines of people out the door waiting for the hottest new release. With the introduction of streaming services and the seemingly never ending increase in ticket prices, the crowds have dwindled. This makes this particular location a great place to watch movies the way they're meant to be watched: on a large screen with immersive surround sound. The speakers installed here are some of the best, even for such an old theater. The MoviePass is accepted here, which makes it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy a movie without dealing with large crowds and doesn't need the frills of IMAX or some other high definition format. They haven't done any major renovations, but everything is properly maintained to provide a pleasant experience. All the screens offer stadium seating, and each room is medium sized. None of the seats recline, but they're still plush and reasonably comfortable. While there is no powered recline option, they do lean slightly back with some manual effort. The cleaning staff does a good job removing all concessions in between showtimes, and the floors aren't sticky. Concession options are par for the course, but the price gouging isn't as severe as other places. You can get soft drinks, popcorn, and an assortment of candy. The staff is generally high school students working their first job, so the customer service experience can be inconsistent. Fortunately there isn't much interaction with them other than the ticket window and stub verification prior to admission. read more

The volume level was so high in the Christopher Nolan movie Tenet, that it could have caused hearing damage. I had to shove napkins in my ears to muffle things a bit. I asked the guy at the popcorn stand if they could turn the volume down. He said they're not allowed to adjust the volume because Christopher Nolan wants it that way and if they reduced the volume then we wouldn't hear the dialogue. Well you know what, I'd rather not hear the dialogue then never hear again in my life because my hearing is damaged. read more

I rarely go to the theatre anymore because it is simply not enjoyable unless you go to a Cinepolis-equivalent with advanced online purchased tickets with reserved big comfy leather seats and children-free. Received complimentary tickets from yelp for a private screening of The Way Back with Ben Affleck so thought why not. And unfortunately it was the same temperature-barely-regulated, claustrophobic, and hygiene-questionable experience as I recall from the past. The staff was friendly and the movie itself was great and it really wasn't a bad experience but I probably wouldn't pay to return to this theatre (or any of the like) just because there are better options nowadays. read more

You have plenty of parking spaces in the parking structure. People complained about parking which I don't see the reason. It is a bit confusing but it is not a big deal. You park at the first level then you just need to walk out and go to the second floor. Or you drive up to the second level of the parking structure then you will be there. C'mon it is okay to walk a bit. The movie is in theater 7. The seats are comfy and had nice cushion on the head pads. You don't see ppl's head becux of the stadium seating. So far so good. One star down is the "only" bathroom on the first floor is broken and didn't get fix. It has no sign saying " out of order". I grossed out when I opened the door. The bathrooms actually are located in the "second floor" I felt it's very inconvenient during the movie if you need to go to the bathroom. Escalator up to the bathroom is one way up not down so you have to go down with stairs making a big circle in order to get back to the theater. Bad design. read more

Regal theatres at Metro point. Paid for a evening movie which was supposed to start at 615 pm but was subjected for 30 mins to a barrage of obnoxious advertisements. This experience was forced on me and not what I paid for. I walked out because the movie still hadn't started. I'll never come here again. I asked the manager about this and he was very pleasant and said corporate has significantly extended the time for movie goers to be forced to watch advertisements. read more

Have not been to a theatre in years. Came here on a Friday at their 4:20 pm viewing of the adorable nostalgic film "Aladdin" & i loved it as much when it was on video cassette. Options of popcorn has expanded since i've last been here and it is no longer just original theater popcorn. The expansion is now, they offer Hot & Reg. Cheetos Popcorn, which actually includes Cheetos. Chips n popcorn in one! YAY! It was YUMMY. ORDER IT. You can sample too. The guy that helped was sweet. Overall Customer service was nice :) On to the Film.. I will admit i cried a bit at when Aladdin & Jasmine sang "A Whole New World" on the magic carpet. Will Smith did an amazing job of Genie. Thumbs up on the costume design! BEAUTIFUL. The cast was amazing and wow on the sing song & dance. LOVE IT. The comfortability of seats are not my style. Recently came to the OC fair and decided after that to watch a movie and this was one of closest ones in the area. It was my first time here and it is actually located on the second floor. I don't know if we really parked in the right area but yea there is a parking lot around it plus a lot of different stores, but at the time we got here everything else was closed and really really empty. Watched Mission Impossible Rogue and the screen was pretty big for a movie that I feel has been out for awhile. Also it was pretty empty inside. The seats are stadium seating so you won't really be able to see the other persons head popping in front of your screen! Like that part and the temperature was pretty cool. So don't forget to bring a light jacket or something. Even if it is summer! read more
