Cleanliness was our main issue. Profound musty smell from the seats when you turned around the corner to get to your seat. Like body odor and sweat. It got worse as you walked down the aisles. Apparent stains on seats. The women's bathroom needed desperate attention as many of the stalls had toilet paper on the floor and were messy. I pity this theater's staff for how outdated and neglected their workplace is by their higher up's. Despite the conditions of the auditorium (which didn't even have AC mind you), the staff was pleasant and friendly. read more

This movie theater hasn't changed much in 15 years. Much better flow on the redone parking lot now. Front cashier's box office looks permanently closed. The movie titles and times are posted on the marquee, not digital. When you walk in, behind the box office there is one kiosk to purchase your tickets, if you didn't online. Once you have your digital tickets, you'll have you go through the concession stand (it will be posted, if no one is there to check you in) and they'll give you printed seat tickets. It's kind of convenient because you can buy your snacks and beverages at the same time. There are 10 screens. If you don't arrive exactly on time and it's not a crowded theater, expect that some people will take your selected seats. Luckily, most of the seats have a great view of the screen. Concession guys were nice but a little slow as the line was building. The screen rooms were quaint and the row/seats' letters and numbers were a little difficult to see; might have to post a large letter sign at the end of each row for visibility. This Regal Cinema was a little less expensive than the Spectrum one so we decided to give it a try and appreciated how quiet it was on a holiday weekend, not crowded at all, short lines for tickets and concessions, and the popcorn container was huge. We got the Avatar popcorn bucket and it was very nice, metal tin. We enjoyed the free refill, but we got the caramel flavored popcorn which seemed like it had been sitting for a while so the freshness was a little disappointing. It's also a little confusing as they have ticket windows but seems those are rarely used any longer so you walk inside to buy tickets. The theater was fine, comfortable seating, decent sound. And all of the staff were great. It's not the most modern theater, but it's definitely not the most expensive either. I remember a long time ago when movie theaters were completely packed over the holidays, that communal viewing experience is slightly lost when there's only 10 other people spread across the same theater with you, but we would definitely come back here if there was a good movie worth watching. read more

There are times when you want the glitzy Regal at Irvine Spectrum, but then there's times when you want a simple, cozy, and quieter experience. This location is simple. I can't even remember the last time I came to this theater. It's a small one right in the center of The Tustin Marketplace, and it's well kept, but because it's small, there won't be too many movie times available in one day. Although the best part about a smaller theater that isn't visited too much, is that the seats are all still in good shape. And if you have time, there are two massage chairs in the lobby against the wall by the theater hall. The cost is two dollars and it's oh so relaxing! It even has the calf muscle massagers! Right now there's construction going on right up to their front door. Everything that was right next to the theater building has been knocked down and looks like will become an apartment complex. There is a couple of security guards that drive around in a golf cart making sure that the parking lot that has been left slightly secluded is secure. We will definitely be coming back to this one soon. Especially to take advantage of their Tuesday deals. read more

We came to The Market Place on our last day before leaving on our flight and wanted to do some shopping, eating and watching a movie because it was a rainy dreary day. So we did all three here at The Marketplace and we were able to watch a comedy at this theatre. There were only 2 employees working at the concession and that is where we bought our tickets for the movie as the box office was closed. The staff there was friendly and we ordered a large popcorn (with free refill) and added some butter to it but that made the popcorn very salty. The theatre only had a handful of customers and we enjoyed the movie. read more

This definitely cannot compare to Regal Irvine Spectrum. I was unable to take picture of the chairs because of late arrival. The chairs are definitely not comfortable because they are "standard" red chair. If you are big and tall - get the one on the front or all the way in the back for wiggle room. It seemed quiet and ordinary not much upgrade. Staff were very nice and patient. PARKING - is a nightmare right now because they shut down half of the shopping area to build a new Irvine Company Apartment Complex in the next two years (I heard - not sure what they're building). I had to park across the street where 24HR Fitness/Amazon Fresh parking and walked over in the afternoon heat. That was hard. I came here only because it was nearby and it was the annual $4 movie day. : ) read more

This theater is the most convenient for me but it's really showing it's age. It's not very busy nowadays so they no longer sell tickets up front but have you go purchase tickets at the concession stand. There's free refills on large popcorns and large icees, and you can earn rewards through the app for free popcorn, drinks or movies. The seats are traditional old style theater seats and showing lots of wear and tear. read more

Went to the movies here tonight. The popcorn was drenched in salt. My drink was spilled on the counter because the lid wasn't on (finally just left it off). I let the closest employee know I needed help but nobody came. I tried to get the attention of the manager but no luck. The bathrooms were beyond dirty. Came to this theater since it was in a convenient location, but seeing the state of it makes me want to make a drive to a farther theater.

My family and I never been to this theater so I said why not? We watched Avatar 3, total for 3 tickets food and snacked was around $149 which is ridiculous for one, and this was for around two hot dogs nachos and popcorn n two drinks. First impression: Not good - definitely better experiences for the money. Location: Easy to find and very accessible with great parking. Honestly this might be the best thing about this Regal Edwards location. bonus: tons of great restaurants in the area for a meal before/after a viewing. Pricing: Pretty standard - we paid $30.00 for two adult tickets. HOWEVER: I know this is not uncommon but there was AT LEAST 30 minutes of ads. Our movie was scheduled to start at 9:20 and actually started at 9:55. This is unacceptable. Theater - definitely older but still clean and maintained well including the bathrooms. However in the actual auditorium it was FREEZING. Once again, not acceptable. With such low foot traffic staff should be on the temperature more than this. Overall: definitely not everything is bad about this location but we definitely had a bad experience. read more

First- overpriced. Why is a movie $18 on a Tuesday night?! Many other theaters have better prices. That wasn't even for recliner seats or anything special! The concession lines were very slow. Took a while to get my popcorn. Those prices are too high too but of course that's every movie theater. They don't have a bar but they do sell canned alcoholic beverages. Pretty limited though. Bathrooms and Theater were clean, though the bathroom was basically out of soap and no paper towels. Movie quality and sound were good, comfy chairs. This theater is an example of why theaters are dying. They have a full menu of food but we go in and they say they can only microwave a hot dog for us because they didn't put any on the grill. The staff was not helpful with options. We landed on pizza and after waiting 10 minutes it's inedible. And I can eat microwave pizza. This supposedly came from an oven and literally I could not eat it. Don't plan on getting food here. read more

Staff are friendly, and the screens/sound are good, but this place is in desperate need of renovations. The bathrooms are particularly dismal. And I don't know if the HVAC system needs repairs or they just don't turn it on but for a $16 matinee I expect to not have to spend the whole time mopping sweat off my face. read more

Love this theater. It's never too crowded, snacks are good, buying tickets is easy. If you get the monthly pass it pays for itself in like 2 visits. It's in the middle of a cute little plaza with a good selection of lunch spots. Only downside is the seats can be pretty gross. In a desperate need for a deep clean. Like some of them are crusty and black. It is to be expected since it is a bit of a slower theater, I don't think I've ever seen more than 3-4 employees at once. read more

The theater's location is ideal as it's near local restaurants, so it's convenient. Recently decided to go for a 9 PM showing of Batman. We thought this theater had reclining seats but unfortunately it did not. The seating at this theater is back to normal sitting side by side others. I noticed at other theaters in OC, they separated people by having an empty seat in between parties for health purposes. The concession stand stayed open all night. The inside lobby and bathrooms are pretty clean. When we arrived we walked right in and then scanned our tickets before going into the movie. There were several show times for the same movie at this theater which was helpful and ultimately why I chose this theater. read more

Thanks to Yuri for the free movie ticket! During our conversation, "Bok Bok" happened. The term triggered my memory of the movie, "Crazy Rich Asians". Yuri hadn't seen it yet, so I told her that I had seen it three times already because it's so good! Alana had seen it once and agreed to go again with us! Parking was free at the Irvine Marketplace. We purchased our tickets outside at the box office and entered the nicely air conditioned lobby. We walked down the hallway to the clean restroom, then entered the comfy, colorfully decorated theater. The seats are not reclining style. There's no swiveling snack tables and no assigned seating. It's a rather quaint old school type of theater. Straight forward and basic. We didn't get any snacks because we had just had lunch. This my "go to" theater, great prices, amenities, and customer service. The movie theater is always clean, plenty of staff to help, excellent food selection, and BEER (just ordered the mango cart from Golden Road Brewery)! Come before 12:00 pm to get the $6.50 per ticket price. Also located in a great plaza where you can eat dinner before or after. Steak houses, Dumplings, Pizza, or Fish. Chelsea, we are planning seeing The Lion King next, we can't wait! read more

Our local regal is a great place to catch a casual movie. My family go to this specific theater as most other theaters in the area are more expensive per ticket plus we love the matinee prices (movies starting before 12pm) at $8. There are also some decent restaurants in the plaza including Pieology and Veggie Grill along with Ja Jiaozi and Taco Rose just across the parking lot. Most of the staff seem like teens so the service is just okay and the food options and popcorn are what you'd expect from a cheap theater. We usually just get a kids meal and share it for a cheaper price. Overall still our favorite easy affordable theater in Irvine. read more

Today, I decided to watch a spontaneous viewing of Sinners with my wife. The movie was going great, until the post credits scene. I wasn't expecting any additional scenes after the credits had rolled, and to my surprise there was one. I made a swift comment about the post credit scene and was met with resistance, when a very incompetent and immature employee approached me. He claimed that we were being too loud, and in response I said that I disagreed. I followed up with the fact that if we were being too loud, the other people in the theater would have said something as well. He further disagreed with our side of the argument, and asked us to leave the theater. My wife and I complied with his request, whilst leaving, he closely followed us. I thought it was very strange that he wanted to personally escort us out, following within one inch of me. I was very uncomfortable with this interaction, prompting me to tell the employee that it wasn't necessary that he follow us out of the theater. I was met with very rude comments, akin to the likes of "dummy and shut up". This behavior was very unacceptable and personally ruined my night. The employee claimed that his name was "Ethan," unsure if that was the truth. Ethan is very arrogant, childish, condescending, unprofessional in the work place, and overall a terrible employee. If you encounter Ethan, make sure you "shut up" as Ethan demanded. You never know who might be listening! His manager, Henry Lopez was very understanding and professional. He took care of us after this upsetting ordeal. read more

Regal is probably the only one theater where we can watch the Spider-Man for $8.00 in Irvine, CA, USA anymore! For starters no movie theater is worth paying $21.00 for a two hour movie. Thanks but no thanks. I will not go to Fandango for a simple movie ticket purchase and pay $18.95 per stupid seat plus early reservation fee of $4.99 for each person. I refused to pay $25.99 to see a movie about a character that I know well! Having said that I love Regal tickets for a lot of the reasons: At 12 or 12:30 pm the tickets are $7.50 and plenty of seats. The theater is big and elevated seats with wide screens and amazing sound quality throughout the entire stadium seating area with unobstructed view of the large and clean screen. Their popcorn's and other snacks are pretty decent. read more
