    Movie theater seats

finally getting the Remodel it deserves. The place is starting to look great! The new recliners feel great and go all the way back. The little table they added to each seat have enough space so you don't feel trapped. The new carpet looks awesome. They are still remodeling the lobby and should be done by December of this year 2026. I was happy to see lots of families there. The customer service was beyond. I am definitely coming back with my family. Glad to see this theater come back life it was about time.

They say third time is a charm. For me, the third time was a curse. I was originally planning to see Paddington in Peru at the Regal Edwards in Long Beach Towne Center, but had to change my plans last minute, leading me to the Regal Edwards in South Gate instead. I had already seen the Heart Eyes movie a week ago, and there was a Regal Crown Club promotion for this month where if you watch multiple love-themed movies, you can get extra credits. There was also another promotion where if you saw the Paddington in Peru movie during the opening weekend, you can get 500 extra credits. Bonus credits for watching one movie? Why not?! Well, there are a few reasons why I would NOT recommend coming to this Regal at El Paseo South Gate Shopping Center, which is located on the northeast corner of Garfield and Firestone. I entered the plaza through Firestone, and there were so many cars stopped in front of Sam's Club. However, a sign directed me to go around the warehouse to find the movie theater. There's a parking lot on either side, so if you're not planning to go to Curacao (the store next door, not the island lol), feel free to park closer to the parking garage. When I came in, I didn't see a sign that would direct customers to purchase tickets at concessions. Instead, there was a hostess at the front who simply directed me to the concessions stand. I wasn't in a good mood, but Diego at the concessions stand was great! Best Regal employee I've seen so far as he was pretty upbeat and welcoming. I handed him my Regal Premiere Ticket while letting him know I was here for the Paddington in Peru movie. The seating chart had some occupied seats in the middle, so I chose a seat at the very rear of the auditorium, thinking I'd get a better view while staying far from the kiddos who might misbehave; luckily, they did not. The seats in this theater were less comfortable than at La Habra and Cerritos. They also did not recline, and I also noticed the headrests were movable. I arrived about a couple minutes before showtime, and the previews had already started. They went on for another ~25 minutes before the movie finally started. Like I said, the seats weren't too comfortable, and since there were only a couple of families in front of me, I just sat at four adjacent seats, changing seats every 20-30 minutes. One thing I noticed was that the cupholder for one seat had some trash from a previous movie showing. Luckily, it was just paper, but ugh! Clean the theater better, please?! Sound quality was pretty good, but the video actually froze for about 5-10 seconds twice in a span of 1-2 minutes. I almost thought that the movie would had to prematurely end because they couldn't get the movie to continue playing, but luckily, the movie finished without a hitch after the second hiccup. After the movie, I took a walk around the theater to look at all the various movie decor of upcoming movies or movies they are now showing. At the other end of the theater, I started smelling weed! I looked to my left and saw a Regal employee on a smoke break by the doorway with the door partially open! With plenty of children inside the theater?! Good thing the Paddington in Peru movie was at the other end of the theater. I wouldn't want to be smelling that stuff while trying to enjoy a movie! There's a pretty big arcade section in the middle between the hostess and concessions stands. The kiddos can run around with reckless abandon, and one of them *almost* hit me with a toy airplane. He wasn't even paying attention to his surroundings, so he definitely got a good talking to by his mother. Case in point, keep a watchful eye on the kids in the arcade section. This was my third visit to a Regal, and it's the worst one so far. I even went out of my way to see how this theater was, and needless to say, I'm definitely not doing that again. 2 stars overall. I'm glad I stopped by this theater, but I won't be returning even though I still have a handful of Premiere Movie Tickets left to use.

Congratulations, graduation celebration at the movie

I know these three little Church girls. Since they were babies. They've literally grown up right in front of Me. Who says adults don't hang out with kids. I do all the time. One of them has finally graduated from high school ! So, as a special gift she requested to go to the movies with her best friend and I ! Needless to say, I felt very special. Such a special girls day. We got to the movies and I think I just forget how movie theaters are so grand. They're always really big huge buildings. They really are special. Our seats were comfortable. There's a huge mural above the concession counter. I was standing there for a while. Trying to figure out who the famous people were. The guy in the light blue jacket was the only one I couldn't figure out. Maybe. You can try. It was a great experience all around. Super cute movie.

Everything needs to be improved at this location mainly them cleaning the theater rooms, I paid almost $40 to take my daughter to watch the Megan 2.0 +$30 on popcorn candy and a ICEE, but I know the employees didn't even bother cleaning it before we went in it looks to me as if they pushed the trash back, the Cerritos location is a 10/10 South Gate regal 0/10 , don't waste your time going here SG REGAL . Last time I went I waited 1 hour in line for the popcorn this never happens at the Cerritos location.

I was trying to take my parents to the movies and this location offers Spanish movies. I love that. Tuesday regal has a great deal. The snack bar has a big variety of choices. we did have to drive out but it was totally worth it my parents enjoyed the movie.

Does anyone know if they offer a student discount at this location?

Hi There, Thank you for taking the time to reach out! For more specific information on discounts, Please reach out to your Theatre directly at 323-929-0915.

    Can kids go in?

    Sure, why not?

How much are movies on Sunday's?

$6 in the morning. And $8 dollars when you purchase them in the movie theatre. Online prices are higher.

How much is a large coke & a large popcorn?

My best guess is around $6 for the coke and $7 for the popcorn. Hope that helps.

The rest of the building seems to be modernized so it was disappointing to arrive to our seats and see the disparity. We came for the 8/10 1:30pm showing of the Lord of the Rings show. 25+ minutes past, the screen remained broken (no sound, no video). Very ridiculous. We were offered a refund and tickets for the future. I will say staff was friendly and tried to resolve the issue amicably.

When we went to watch Zootopia, my reserved seats were literally on the floor. There were tools left around the seating, as if someone had been repairing them and just walked away without finishing or cleaning up. On top of that, the sound kept lowering throughout the movie to the point everyone had to sit still and be very quiet to listen to the dialogue. I recently went to watch Avatar, and the condition of the theater hasn't improved. The recliners are peeling and some don't recline anymore. During the movie, the screen kept going black and I'm not sure but I felt like the sound was off as well. The only good thing I can say about this theater is the seat service, but even that has some delays, 30-40 minutes for popcorn. I really hope management addresses these issues, because this theater used to be great and clearly has potential.

I guess they don't sell candy anymore and they don't have cashiers to help with anything: you can only order a few chocolate candies so that was a hard pass. And again they had an elaborate rope system for the "line" but since there are no cashiers it doesn't seem used.

The chairs are actually sticky. It's gross. This does not "make movies better". Now for the theater itself. The lighting is so poorly designed in the imax that the light washes out a good part of the screen. This does not "make movies better". This is a terrible location. The theater looks like it was put together in someone's basement or garage. I watch movies for a living. I see movies in theaters from here to Australia. This theater puts the LIE in liemax. It must just barely meet the requirements to be called imax. The only relation it has to any real imax screen is possibly the aspect ratio. The screen appears to have just been stuck on wall. The aesthetics are ghetto at best. Again, this isn't making movies better.

So I decided to go with gf in tow, on a Saturday night, for 8:10pm…read moreshowing I did remember to come early to get a good spot to park. 39 minutes early is the latest to come. Otherwise you will be waiting in a huge line and may be fighting for a good spot, so you can be far away from the we*d smokers or smokers of any kind, if you are a nonsmoker like we are . Prices are still cheap. Only $14 for general admission (12 and older). Way better than walk in theater general admission prices. Pretty sure ticket prices are cash. So make sure you have cash for tickets. We came to see Mortal Kombat II. Which was amazing. I never saw the first movie. But you don't have to have seen the first to follow this movie. One reason I wanted to see this movie is Mortal Kombat II is my favorite video game (SNES) version of the MK video games. The best place to see an action movie is on the massive drive-in theater movie screen. Not Imax, etc. So we went here. Another great thing about drive in theaters is you can bring your own food and you can have privacy with your date inside your vehicle, if you know what I mean . Just have privacy glass. Because a family of kids can be parked next to your vehicle. If you want, you can bring chairs and sit outside your vehicle and watch. Which is also a great choice. Especially if you have kids. They will love sitting outside. If you do sit outside, bring a coat, blanket, etc. It gets cold at night. The concession is cheap af and not like walk in movie theater prices. For example, their large popcorn is huge. Yet its only $10 with taxes. We got ours with extra butter. They offer a lot of other good stuff too at great prices. But we only wanted warm popcorn with extra butter. I saw some raggedy ATM machines in there. Not sure if concession got them there so you can use cash to buy food. But I didn't ask as I already had some cash on me to buy popcorn. So make sure you bring cash for concession as well. Make sure you vehicle radio can tune to 90.1 FM and you can leave it on without it draining your battery and without parking/headlights being activated. It drives us movie goers crazy when some foolish person will turn on their headlights while everyone else is trying to enjoy the film. Also, if you need a radio for showing, you can buy one from them for $20 at concession. Great experience here. I love this place. Like I said, I havent been here in like 6 years. Last time I was here, one ticket paid for double feature. Which was a steal. Because after Mortal Kombat II, I was looking forward to seeing Michael again. Which we already saw at a walk in theater. But we were ready to see it again on the biggest screen ever. They dont do double features anymore. So if the website shows two movies, dont misread like I did. It clearly says: "TICKETS ARE FOR A SINGLE SHOW TIME ONLY." I was wondering why everyone was leaving after Mortal Kombat II was over . We stayed in vehicle until security drove by and told us they only do single features. We weren't the only ones he had to tell. Great experience here. Cant wait to see another larger than life movie here.

Somehow there was always one ingredient missing... the truck, the timing, or the friends willing to do it.Last night it finally happened.I convinced two of my guy friends to go with me -- one visiting from Missouri and one from Temecula -- and we were all ridiculously excited. We honestly didn't think we were going to make it because our movie didn't start until 11 PM, but we pushed through. We had a bonfire first, and right as it turned 11 and we were getting ready to leave, I tripped, fell, and sprained my ankle. Worst timing ever. But if there's one thing about me, I do not like bailing on plans. I said nope, we're still going. We were just going to be sitting anyway, all cuddled up in the back of the truck with blankets and pillows, so I powered through. I tried really hard to get comfortable, and even with the ankle situation, it was still such a fun experience. This one is definitely going down in the memory books. There's just something so nostalgic and special about a drive-in movie. It feels like one of those classic '80s activities that hardly exists anymore, which honestly makes me sad. I'm so glad we finally did it, and I would absolutely do it again. If you've been thinking about doing a drive-in movie night, take this as your sign. Do it.

Our movie started at 11:00 a.m., and we figured showing up 5-10 minutes beforehand would be plenty of time, but the line was surprisingly long. Between purchasing tickets and grabbing snacks from the concession stand, you'll want to give yourself a little extra time. One of the biggest perks is their $5 movie promotion on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays before 6:00 p.m. That alone makes it a great value. We also picked up snacks from the concession stand. The popcorn was fresh, which is always a plus at a movie theater. We also ordered nachos but the cheese wasn't my favorite, but it was decent. We got a large Icee as well, and I liked that large sizes come with free refills. They also offer beer, wine, and seltzers, which was a nice surprise. The theater itself isn't huge, but it was comfortable and clean. You select your seats when purchasing tickets, which was convenient. I hadn't been to a movie theater in a while, so that was new to me. They also have a rewards program, and I signed up during our visit because it seemed worthwhile. This isn't a luxury theater with all the bells and whistles, but that's part of its charm. It's a simple, no-frills neighborhood movie theater that's affordable, easy to visit, and perfect when you just want to catch a movie without the hassle. We'll definitely be back.

The theater was absolutely packed. The line to buy tickets alone was down the parking lot. When I got into the auditorium, it was slammed with people and they were so loud the whole movie. I'm aware that has nothing to do with the workers and the people running the cinemas, but man it was so bad. I mean people were coming in and out of the theater during the movie which is really annoying and distracting. People were talking and laughing during the movie and made no effort to be discreet or anything along those lines. People are on their phones too with the brightness all the way up. I can't even properly enjoy the movie with all this shit going on, it made me really want to ask for my money back. If you come to this theater on a Sunday, this is what you will probably have to deal with.
