I used to come here often but it's been a few years so I decided to come back. It's definitely an odd vibe compared to what I remember: the front ticket counter looks abandoned but for some reason has ropes as if they still have lines there, and people were just sitting on the ground in front of the entrance in the shadows. I guess they don't sell candy anymore and they don't have cashiers to help with anything: you can only order a few chocolate candies so that was a hard pass. And again they had an elaborate rope system for the "line" but since there are no cashiers it doesn't seem used. read more

The floors and seats are filthy. Not just dirty. Filthy. Especially in the imax the imax theater. I don't think this place has been cleaned since it opened. The chairs are actually sticky. It's gross. This does not "make movies better". Now for the theater itself. The lighting is so poorly designed in the imax that the light washes out a good part of the screen. This does not "make movies better". This is a terrible location. The theater looks like it was put together in someone's basement or garage. I watch movies for a living. I see movies in theaters from here to Australia. This theater puts the LIE in liemax. It must just barely meet the requirements to be called imax. As someone who is a huge moviegoer and fan of AMCs, I'm surprised it took me this long to come to this AMC! But, I found myself in the area for work and this location popped up on my AMC app! This is definitely a more basic AMC that's pretty big and spacious with a large variety of films playing. The seats were fairly comfortable and relaxing and I liked how they were cushiony and reclining. The stadium seating style in the theater I was in made for a bit more privacy and separation from others, especially since there were noisy and disruptive theater goers nearby. I can't fault the theater for that, though, as they can't stop these people from attending. I do wish the sound quality was just a little bit more amplified though to drown out these sounds. I did find the picture quality to be really good and I felt really immersed in what I watched. The theater I was in was clean and well maintained. The staff I interacted with were also friendly. I didn't purchase food or drink but the food I saw others get looked fresh and the smell lingered. Parking was very easy in the lot across the street, especially since it was evening and the gate was up. I was a little confused at first if I could park there, since it was labeled for jury duty, but I saw others parking there and walking across the bridge to the AMC, which reassured me! Came to watch the Twenty One Pilots movie and the film itself? Incredible. No notes. I was thriving. BUT. Why... why would you take away the mac and cheese balls? I've been coming here since I was a literal child. Through awkward phases, first dates, and now full-grown adult and somewhere along the way I don't know when but I fell deeply, passionately in love with those mac and cheese balls. To walk up to the counter and not see them on the menu felt like betrayal. Like heartbreak. Like the end of an era. RIP to a real one. On top of that, the IMAX seats were uncomfortable. My back was fighting for its life. Also since when do we have to PAY for jalapeños?? In this economy?? I did get a pizza instead, which honestly saved the day. Shoutout to the pizza for holding me together in my time of grief. I would've taken more pictures but my hands were full (emotionally and physically lol). The sour Slurpee for the SpongeBob movie though? Absolutely elite. 10/10. No crumbs. Overall: clean theater, clean restrooms, organized lines, great movie experience. Still my favorite AMC theater, the city of Norwalk always clean and closer to the police station feel really safe. Theatre has a lot of parking areas and even a parking structure across the street. Reserved seating as well so no need to rush for a seat. Inside the theatre is really clean and staff is so friendly and welcoming. Food is always great and they have a bar inside, fountain drink station and a slushie station as well. AMC just added a couple of new features as in a picture Photo Booth and claw machine really cool. The seats and chairs are really comfy and depending on the theater you select the amount of seating is available. Will definitely recommend and will be bk soon read more

A pretty decent AMC, looked fairly clean for what I experienced. Enjoyed that they had recliner seats that were pretty comfortable and clean. The concessions are fully automated with self service machines now, not entirely sure if that's a good or bad thing. Overall good experience. I've been to this AMC location many times and it's always been a spot to go to watch a movie whenever able to, due to close convenience. It's a decent spot compared to other AMC's and not as big as others but has a good amount of parking at the structure across from it or in the back lot that makes it good for trying to catch a movie on time and not having to worry about for parking. BUT things that this AMC can improve on, would be their service. For people that are AMC stubs premiere or A-List members, they have a separate line outside that would get line priority. I was with my cousin in line and waited in the special premiere/A-list line priority line and literally was trying to just print out our tickets for the movie that we were going to watch. I kid you not where the worker lady in the booth in front did not pay attention or give any notice to this line and took like 6 pairs/families of people from the general line and never acknowledged us which was truly a disappointment because why promote AMC stubs, premiere and A-list if you can't even accommodate to people paying extra for that extra service? So we ended up going inside and spoke with a manager about it and mentioned our concern about it and they said they would talk to that worker but tbh, it's not the first time I've seen this and I don't think their service is near similar to the other AMC's at other locations. It's really sad because I really like this AMC for convenience in location but the service is pretty bad not just with the front booth window but even with the one line for all for concessions which can be a hit or miss sometimes. Total for a movie now cost me, WITH AMC Stubs discount provided from a friend because I would never pay for that... Ticket: $21.99 Large popcorn & large fountain drink: $17.85 Grand total: $39.84 Almost $40/person just to go to the MOVIES. Since when does it cost roughly 2 hours of minimum wage work to pay for a movie ticket? Your own employees couldn't afford it. A little or a lot insane? I think a lot, especially in a dying industry. Why would someone pay $40 to go to a disorganized, not monitored, stinky theater full of classless heathens with zero public etiquette and stale popcorn for a recycled, half-heartedly, AI script-written movie? You guys are killing your own theater. Bring back ushers, cashiers, front box purchasing options, first come first serve basis for seats instead of the ridiculous have to reserve at minimum a week in advance seats for people to STILL arrive late to the show and the popcorn being left out in the open to harden and get cold instead of just... serving it as ordered? Decent theater staff is always nice and fairly clean when not super busy. however the imax theater in particular needs major updates, the seats are stained and old and the cloth seem to hold lots of moisture, the hallways to the left and right of the screen l have bright lights that you can see very easily during the movie and even worse the main hallway light shines directly onto the bottom right corner of the screen and you can clearly see it when movies are playing as an a lister it's kinda lame to not have a priority line especially given since this theater is almost completely automated with kiosks and some people take sooooo long it really kinda ruins the experience. all of the other smaller theaters and nice with clean recliners that you can tell are fairly new so no complaints there. overall a good theater and i will continue to come here because it is the closest imax and dolby screens, otherwise i would make the drive to orange 30 but i think this theater deserves a healthy makeover because it looks rundown at certain points. read more

I went to AMC Norwalk 20 and overall had a pretty good experience. I had placed a mobile order, and I think Adriana was the manager. She was really helpful and assisted us with the mobile order so we didn't have to wait in the long line, which made everything go much smoother. The theater was clean, the seating was comfortable, and the movie experience was great. I do recommend mobile ordering, especially if you want to avoid waiting in line. I watched Weapons here on a Tuesday night. Parking wasn't too bad -- just use the garage across the street for easy access. My original theater ended up being flooded, but customer service handled it really well and got us into another showing the same night. Appreciate the quick accommodation! I believe it was an IMAX screening, though there weren't any reclining seats. Still enjoyed the movie, lol. The parking situation is a bit confusing at this location- requires you to park in structure across and while it states their rates, the gate is open and you don't have to pay! (At least I didn't on a Wednesday night at 6:15pm) I'm sad they didn't have seat warmers but the theatre is overall clean! My SO and I went to see Good Fortune on a whim, and he had some free tickets via his employer. There's a $5-ish fee online for processing, but the thing is either you pre-order online to reserve your seats, or you have to get there earlier to pick. So, that's the disadvantage of seated theaters, I suppose. Thankfully, we were in the back, but yeah. They also didn't check our IDs, even though the film was rated R. I had that *exact* opportunity, and wanted to treat the kids (and myself) to a movie for Thanksgiving Break. My haphazard brain managed to mess that opportunity up *big time* online. But still caught it on the tail end of release. So we got the full big screen experience. Overall it was a fantastic movie. I always knew about this theater. But never went ti it until Today. It's off 5 fwy/Imperial Hwy. Plus it's in the right rear to LA County Recorder building. Parking is limited here. So Im taking off a star for that alone. 0/7 parking spaces in front of theater are non-disabled and available exclusively for AMC Parking. Spaces facing AMC building are exclusively designated for AMC free parking. They are as follows: 52/52 parking spaces behind theater are non-disabled and available exclusively for AMC free Parking. 14/16 spaces on side of theater are non-disabled and available exclusively for AMC free Parking. There appears to be other spaces available that may be used for AMC parking: 60/64 parking spaces in the OutbackSteak parking lot are non-disabled and doesn't say "OutbackSteak only" or "No AMC/No theater parking." So you can safely park there for free. There is the courthouse building parking structure (Norwalk Civic Center Parking) with 2000 parking spaces. It has the AMC logo on the building. However, I think you have to pay. So I wouldn't take the chance if you are looking for free parking. read more

Parking WAS DOWN THE STREET, ROUND THE CORNER IN THE BACK. About a 8 min walk. The theater was nice, self checkout was pretty modern/up to date. I read tons of comments out the theater being dirty, unclean, but that wasn't my experience. The theater was clean, the restroom was clean, and neither had a foul odors. I would have preferred a person as a cashier though. The dipndots NOT worth the price. The movie seats, recliner seats, were comfy asf, probably the most comfy movie recliner I've sat in. It gave lazy boy recliner vibes. The theater WAS HOT though too many bodies in there to not be having the AC blasting, I left out my back was sweating! They had 4 small ceiling fans on low, they did absolutely nothing. Dress accordingly, aside from the heat I do recommend. 3.5/4 read more

Jazzmine in customer service was very friendly and helpful when I needed to cancel a movie and reschedule without losing my AMC Stubs Reward. She must be good since she's mentioned in another Yelp review here from 3 yrs ago, so she must know what's up and should be a manager if not already. Closed captioning devices are available and always fully charged. I'm happy they have coffee available because not all AMC locations do (or maybe the employees don't want to hassle). It's great AMC has parking validation for the city parking structure across the street. That's something Jazzmine explained to me. I don't like the self-serve concession kiosks because the express lane was a benefit of paying for AMC Stubs Premiere. I'm not sure if the kiosks save time or not, or if it was a way to cut employees. Keep going to theaters for movies or it may not be possible if they all close down! read more

There system is not upgraded to where like a register you cannot to two transactions card and cash. Guess need to upgrade their systems. This will satisfy customers more. Came for the 10:00 pm showing of Nosferatu on Christmas Eve; the movie was amazing but the facilities seemed a little lacking. Not too many signs at night directing you to the parking lot across the street, it says court employee parking but upon further inspection we found an AMC elevator sign inside the parking garage, which assured us it was a parking lot. Upon entering at 10:00 pm, the concession line was daunting, all of the roped queue was filled and it seemed like the line was moving slowly. If there was a premiere line I didn't see it because it was all full! The bathrooms were adequately clean. In the theater, we picked seats on the left section, and the angle is a little difficult to see the bottom of the screen for someone 5'4"; the chair before and the rails block the bottom 1/3 of the screen. The floor on our row (which was just 3 seats) was sticky and the seats were a little awkwardly designed, and the only comfortable position I found was sitting straight up. read more

Just switched from regal unlimited and i think it was a mistake - no a list line for concessions - bathrooms were in disarray, water on the floors, stalls broken, toilets dirty, trash can overflowing - they gave me 2 large popcorns filled with crumbs, so we had to wait for them to make fresh popcorn and it made us late for the movie - out of the 3 freestyle machines there, 1 only had ice - didn't taste my soda until i got to my seat and my soda tasted like it had no syrup, like carbonated water - recliners are small compared to regal - large popcorn are small compared to regal - outside is very outdated. Overall I would never recommend this theatre to anyone. read more

This is probably the most frequent movie theatre that I go to since it's close to home. The theatre is usually well maintained and clean and has a huge parking lot across the street. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and I love using the mobile app to have popcorn and drinks brought to our seats. This location has a bar and great food and snack selections. The actual movie theatres have comfortable recliners, big screens, and amazing sound system. The restrooms are well stocked and clean and they have the latest released movies. Dan Ellis and Hank Green are the worst executives in the business; they make AMC theaters worse for the customers and the staff. The staff gets five stars, they're wonderful, but do you know why these two executives get one star? They make the concessions decisions - and ooooof. Talk about a debacle. The one star review is for Dan and Hank and Aron. Went to go see Gladiator 2 at the AMC Norwalk and was disappointed to see that they put touchscreens to service the concessions. First problem... this devalues the AMC Stubs A-List. There is no A-List Premiere line. There is less staff working the concessions, replaced by four touchscreens (one was not working) which are not UX friendly, the lines took so long. Over 15 minutes. I suspect this is to incentivize use of their mobile ordering. Once you get to the touchscreen, you're in for another wait. The scanners to get your QR code or app do not work. You have to punch in a number manually, or end up calling a person (who was great) for help. The options are not intuitive for me - someone who is chronically online - so I can only imagine the confused boomer poking one greasy inch of screen at a time. God help you if you want to use a coupon or any rewards. Does someone give you your food right away? Of course not. You're waiting in another line to wait for your order to be called. The monitor of people waiting for their orders was massive, there's no order to this next wait, so a ton of people just spill out in front of the poor staff, hoping that the 22 minutes of trailers is still going. I know I'm probably yelling into the void here, but it's crazy how worse things have gotten. They used to bring your food to you, and now, you're doing customer service for them. I love movies. I love the theatrical experience, that's why I'm so mad about this. These two dummys are like every MBA and business grad: they don't care about the customer or the staff, only their shareholders. You would think these people would want to save moviegoing the most, but I bet they don't even care. The one thing these people understand are a smash and grab. If they were creative innovative execs, they might do things like: - have a theater/playplace devoted to just kids movies where the you strip out the first four rows for a play area too and parents can just hang out in the back. Make it more kid friendly (lights a little brighter), where parents can watch their kids or just be on their phones and tune in and out. - How about a theater devoted to streaming video games where people can take turns playing against each other on a huge screen? - How about partnering with local restaurants and doing a dine in or date night But I didn't go to Mercer or get a Business degree so what do I know? If this touchscreen idea is the best they can do, we should only hope that an AI touchscreen makes them redundant and saves all the concession jobs: remember Dan Ellis and Hank Green worse executives. If any of this resonates with you at all, find the AMC that does NOT have the touchscreens for popcorn and snacks. Don't give the touchscreens your business; then whoever's bright idea to do this will get its reckoning in the next quarter. Sorry to go all Howard Beale on all of you, but the intentional degradation of this just wants to make me give up on having anything nice. I guarantee you that Dan and Hank don't get the "Howard Beale" reference. Worst executives. This is a shoutout for the amazing staff that helped me when I watched Gladiator 2 at 11:15am! My first time to this location & I was impressed! This AMC itself is pretty huge and parking is across the street. They have plenty of showings and theatres. It's probably an overall older theatre but the overall experience makes up for it. But back to the main point, the staff that helped me out in the entrance, the concessions, and even the staff just roaming around - everyone was ext felt helpful, friendly, and such a pleasure to be around and talk to! Movie staff can sometimes be a hit or miss - but this place certainly stands out in terms of their customer service. Went to watch Sinners today. They forgot to turn off the light when the movie started so one the guests had to go ask the employee which was the first time I've seen that. Theater is clean but kinda old. The service was excellent the food counter employees were nice and helpful. Your average AMC Theater. Tickets for an evening showing were about $17 with fees if purchased online. You can also buy tickets directly at the box office to avoid fees. Parking is limited directly around the theater so be prepared. There is also a three-story parking garage across the street that AMC shares with the courthouse.
