Previews! Love the big reclining seats!
    Brenda R.

We went to see Materialists last night! 10/10 but we do love Dakota Johnson! My mom is 83 and we "need" to sit together the very kind attendant did his magic and made that happen! I'm forever grateful! We have been coming here since they opened! My grandmother worked here on these grounds when it was aerospace as an executive secretary so we have alot of history in Downey I'm just so blessed we live I. A co.munity that cares! Thank you for treating us with respect and kindness! The theater is very clean! They even walked with us to our seats carrying our complimentary snacks (not sure why they were free, but we are thankful for it all). We comp here about once a week and we just love these folks

Recently I purchased $50 Cinemark gift cards for $40 at Costco and I had no issue using the gift card with no gimmicks (will need to create a new Cinemark account if you don't have one). [Parking]: Not a fan of parking situation as the lot can get pretty packed during busy weekends. Try to find parking spots near Lazy Dog for better luck. [Ticket & seating]: While I do appreciate their reclining seats, I actually had a bit of difficult time finding my seat number as number for seat label was not super discrete. [Conclusion]: Was it worth $14 for a reserved reclining seat with mediocre parking experience? I think the movie experience was alright and I prefer Harkins in Cerrito over Cinemark in Downey.

Toothless sipper (How to Train your Dragon movie)

Was able to watch Lilo and Stitch last week with a fairly big group, and we had no trouble coming here together after parking in the structure. Good to note that parking is free!!! It was my first time at this theater branch, and nothing struck out of the ordinary for me. It was your usual typical theatre experience. The line for the snacks and concessions didn't take too long and I was able to snag the special edition promotional items that Cinemark offered!! I got a How to Train your Dragon popcorn bucket (which was detailed and intricate) and also got a Toothless sipper. The restrooms were clean and the chairs were easily comfortable. I got to lounge back and recline. Sound and screen was crisp for me. Had a fairly pleasant experience!!! PS You also get 20% off on food and get one free ticket every month if you are a Cinemarks rewards member

4++ this location is nested within a pretty large shopping center area. It's also a pretty large theater so you have a pretty good amount of screens. I think at least some of the screens have recliners if not all. I can see that this place is pretty high traffic because the vibe here is that it's kinda central to the area in the people that live in the neighborhood. The concessions area is organized, and the people are friendly. Because of its location and the shopping around this place gets pretty good amount of traffic. But it's still easy to find parking because of the large lots.

    Coming soon.

Hey, it's a moving theater with power reclining seats. Plus, they have Slurpee machines and Pizza Hut items in the lobby. What's not to like? Also, beer and wine for those who wish to imbibe. They have senior discounts and even better discounts on Tuesday. So...pick your day and time carefully. Lots and lots of stuff around it so go early, grab a bite at one of the restaurants and...enjoy!!!

So my nephew wanted to go see the new demon slayer movie and we booked our tickets the day they went on presale, and I called and asked if they would have exclusive popcorn and drink souvenirs for the movie the day of and they said yes we'll have a limited edition popcorn and drink souvenir for the movie, the day arrived to watch the movie I head over to the concession stand to buy the items and I'm told I'm sorry sir we sold out 2 weeks ago! That was so heartbreaking and annoying why would you guarantee you'll have something and end up selling it 2 weeks before the movie even comes out like who does that ? What's the purpose of having a promotion popcorn bucket and cup for a movie sold out 2 weeks before the movie even debuts ? False advertising isn't a good thing. Nice seats but horrible service and false information!

Nice movie theater with clean restrooms and great food options nearby. The seats are newer and much more comfortable

CINEMARK CREDIT POLICY I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO USE MY CREDITS
    Johnathan C.

Dear Cinemark Management, My name is Johnathan, and I would like to address a recent experience I had at the Cinemark location in Downey. On the evening of November 3rd, I purchased tickets to see "Shelby Oaks" for the 10:35 PM showing. I arrived at the theater at 9:30 PM and was excited to enjoy some snacks during the movie. However, I encountered an issue while trying to use my Cinemark Movie Club Credits with an employee named I. Fernandez (terminal: 1134CONM04). I had my snacks ready for purchase, but Mr. Fernandez informed me that I could only use two credits at a time, stating that this was a new policy. He was not accommodating to my situation, despite the Cinemark policy indicating that unlimited credits could be utilized. Unfortunately, his demeanor was unprofessional, as he accused me of attempting to commit fraud, despite my ID and proof of membership clearly stating my eligibility. Mr. Fernandez called over a female colleague for assistance, but I did not catch her name. The encounter left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. I am seeking to escalate this issue to a manager or higher-ranking staff member to ensure that my concerns are heard and addressed. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response. Thank you for your time.

Where have you been all of my life, Cinemark? I love this theater. It's my first time after being a long time customer to AMC. By far, this place is amazingly great. I think this is going to be our new movie spot. So long AMC! This place was clean, the seats were comfortable. My popcorn and drink arrived at exactly the start of the movie. The place was busy and the staff carried a smile. The restrooms were immaculately clean. The security were awesome. They were helpful and oh so friendly. Popcorn can't top AMC but the sofa fountain drink was delicious. This place had so many condiments. I loved the way their lines flowed. It made for quick service. Customers weren't rowdy. The movie did start late. Not sure if there was some type of mechanical issues but no harm, no foul. We will be back soon. Prices are affordable and make you want to come back repeatedly.

Does the seats move for XD?

    No they don't.

Does the theater offer popular movies in Spanish or provide headphones for Spanish speaking audience?

Yes! Some movies are bilingual. I took my grandma to see Encanto in Spanish 😊 Not sure for all movies and not sure about headphones.

The one in Downey has beer and wine. But I would call and check because covid changed some policies

The are bike racks around the theatre.

Can you put the armrests up?

    Yes

We went to see Michael on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by this theater. One thing I would…read moredefinitely recommend is arriving early if you plan to buy tickets at the box office. Our movie started at 11:00 a.m., and we figured showing up 5-10 minutes beforehand would be plenty of time, but the line was surprisingly long. Between purchasing tickets and grabbing snacks from the concession stand, you'll want to give yourself a little extra time. One of the biggest perks is their $5 movie promotion on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays before 6:00 p.m. That alone makes it a great value. We also picked up snacks from the concession stand. The popcorn was fresh, which is always a plus at a movie theater. We also ordered nachos but the cheese wasn't my favorite, but it was decent. We got a large Icee as well, and I liked that large sizes come with free refills. They also offer beer, wine, and seltzers, which was a nice surprise. The theater itself isn't huge, but it was comfortable and clean. You select your seats when purchasing tickets, which was convenient. I hadn't been to a movie theater in a while, so that was new to me. They also have a rewards program, and I signed up during our visit because it seemed worthwhile. This isn't a luxury theater with all the bells and whistles, but that's part of its charm. It's a simple, no-frills neighborhood movie theater that's affordable, easy to visit, and perfect when you just want to catch a movie without the hassle. We'll definitely be back.

I've been here before and have had some alright experiences but my most recent experience was…read morereally not good. I came on Sunday for the value day, it's 5$ for any showing before 6 PM. The theater was absolutely packed. The line to buy tickets alone was down the parking lot. When I got into the auditorium, it was slammed with people and they were so loud the whole movie. I'm aware that has nothing to do with the workers and the people running the cinemas, but man it was so bad. I mean people were coming in and out of the theater during the movie which is really annoying and distracting. People were talking and laughing during the movie and made no effort to be discreet or anything along those lines. People are on their phones too with the brightness all the way up. I can't even properly enjoy the movie with all this shit going on, it made me really want to ask for my money back. If you come to this theater on a Sunday, this is what you will probably have to deal with.

I haven't been here in years. So I decided to go with gf in tow, on a Saturday night, for 8:10pm…read moreshowing I did remember to come early to get a good spot to park. 39 minutes early is the latest to come. Otherwise you will be waiting in a huge line and may be fighting for a good spot, so you can be far away from the we*d smokers or smokers of any kind, if you are a nonsmoker like we are . Prices are still cheap. Only $14 for general admission (12 and older). Way better than walk in theater general admission prices. Pretty sure ticket prices are cash. So make sure you have cash for tickets. We came to see Mortal Kombat II. Which was amazing. I never saw the first movie. But you don't have to have seen the first to follow this movie. One reason I wanted to see this movie is Mortal Kombat II is my favorite video game (SNES) version of the MK video games. The best place to see an action movie is on the massive drive-in theater movie screen. Not Imax, etc. So we went here. Another great thing about drive in theaters is you can bring your own food and you can have privacy with your date inside your vehicle, if you know what I mean . Just have privacy glass. Because a family of kids can be parked next to your vehicle. If you want, you can bring chairs and sit outside your vehicle and watch. Which is also a great choice. Especially if you have kids. They will love sitting outside. If you do sit outside, bring a coat, blanket, etc. It gets cold at night. The concession is cheap af and not like walk in movie theater prices. For example, their large popcorn is huge. Yet its only $10 with taxes. We got ours with extra butter. They offer a lot of other good stuff too at great prices. But we only wanted warm popcorn with extra butter. I saw some raggedy ATM machines in there. Not sure if concession got them there so you can use cash to buy food. But I didn't ask as I already had some cash on me to buy popcorn. So make sure you bring cash for concession as well. Make sure you vehicle radio can tune to 90.1 FM and you can leave it on without it draining your battery and without parking/headlights being activated. It drives us movie goers crazy when some foolish person will turn on their headlights while everyone else is trying to enjoy the film. Also, if you need a radio for showing, you can buy one from them for $20 at concession. Great experience here. I love this place. Like I said, I havent been here in like 6 years. Last time I was here, one ticket paid for double feature. Which was a steal. Because after Mortal Kombat II, I was looking forward to seeing Michael again. Which we already saw at a walk in theater. But we were ready to see it again on the biggest screen ever. They dont do double features anymore. So if the website shows two movies, dont misread like I did. It clearly says: "TICKETS ARE FOR A SINGLE SHOW TIME ONLY." I was wondering why everyone was leaving after Mortal Kombat II was over . We stayed in vehicle until security drove by and told us they only do single features. We weren't the only ones he had to tell. Great experience here. Cant wait to see another larger than life movie here.

I've literally been trying to make this happen for the last 20 years -- get a truck, throw pillows…read moreand blankets in the back, and have a real drive-in movie night. Somehow there was always one ingredient missing... the truck, the timing, or the friends willing to do it.Last night it finally happened.I convinced two of my guy friends to go with me -- one visiting from Missouri and one from Temecula -- and we were all ridiculously excited. We honestly didn't think we were going to make it because our movie didn't start until 11 PM, but we pushed through. We had a bonfire first, and right as it turned 11 and we were getting ready to leave, I tripped, fell, and sprained my ankle. Worst timing ever. But if there's one thing about me, I do not like bailing on plans. I said nope, we're still going. We were just going to be sitting anyway, all cuddled up in the back of the truck with blankets and pillows, so I powered through. I tried really hard to get comfortable, and even with the ankle situation, it was still such a fun experience. This one is definitely going down in the memory books. There's just something so nostalgic and special about a drive-in movie. It feels like one of those classic '80s activities that hardly exists anymore, which honestly makes me sad. I'm so glad we finally did it, and I would absolutely do it again. If you've been thinking about doing a drive-in movie night, take this as your sign. Do it.
