Nachos!
Victoria C.

My go to movie spot as it is reasonablly priced and located supser close! Parking is always busy during peak movie viewing times and most the day, but that is expected since it is part of the mall. However a little bit further parking with a slight walk is no problem for me as there is always parking a little ways down. I dont have a good to snack, but a good rotation for snacks I like is the the nachos, pretzel, or the popcorn! Definitely do love their candy deals too, but I dont always get the candies.

Good location! Came to see the new Super Mario Galaxy movie that everyone and their moms and grandmothers were complaining about (THE MOVIE WAS FINE, GOOD, BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE, IN MY OPINION). I came with a large group of my friends and personally showed up pretty late as the ads started running before the movie started. It was a bit hard to get parking since it's a part of the Cerritos mall and was a Friday evening, so I had to walk a bit. But despite running late, I was able to get in, use the bathroom, and get seated really, really fast.

Inside the theater, the Scream 7 knife display.

I never go to the movies anymore because like most people I do streaming. But, I am a fan of the Scream franchise, so I went to Harkins Theatres in Cerritos to see Scream 7. There was no line at the box office, we chose our seats and I received a student discount with my college ID. Since I still had time before the movie started, I bought popcorn and a Slurpee at the concession stand. The theatre was clean, I found my seats easily, and there was more than enough trash cans when you exited the theatre. I was hesitant to leave the comfort of my own house because I was afraid it would be too crowded or loud. But, I had a really great time and enjoyed the movie!

Another great Matinee Movie at Harkins. I love how easy it is to search movies, selecting seats, and tickets on the App. This theater is always very clean. The reclining seats are very comfortable. There isn't a bad seat in the house! Weekday Matinee are nice and a treat, very few people in the theatre. Popcorn is always freshly popped!

Still my FAV theater hands down! Came for the Jane Austen Series they had going on. The recliner seats are unforgettable! (So comfy) Popcorn on point with the laying of butter! Love all the other snack options they have. It's just a great theater with friendly staff. Restrooms are always clean and smell good. Overall, you're just destined to have a solid movie going experience! Love this place so much, fr!

Love the location. Plenty of parking. Bar area available and comparable prices. Did not like how the concession line is handled. One person taking and filling the orders takes ALOT of time. New movie release with a large audience should have better staffing. I left the line without snacks.

Went to see "The woman in the yard". Not your typical blum house movie. Incredible all around, a psychological thriller that was well executed. The review is for the theater. Great service, clean, comfortable seats, awesome sound. Every interaction I had with the staff members have been a pleasant one. Good leadership shows through everyone in their team. Highly recommended

We absolutely loved our movie we saw. We watched Moana 2 with 4 little kids, all under 5. We all loved the RECLINING SEATS!! Those are a game changer! They were so comfortable and the kids loved playing with the buttons. Lol. We had some rewards so we got a free medium popcorn and upgraded for like $3 to an extra large which comes with a free refill. We got both so that we don't need to come back. Everything was super nice and we even had extra seats since the movie theater wasnt packed at all. Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely come back to this one.

Ask the Community - Harkins Theatres - Cerritos

What are Tuesday prices?

$5, of course.

Do they bring the food to you at your seats?

No, this is not a dine-in style theatre

Is the kids PlayCenter open yet? When are they bringing it back 😭

Call and ask for yourself

Is the playroom open again? And are these the kind of seats that going kids fall right through?

No they not open. Yes and if they fall you will never see them again

Is it possible to exchange tickets for a later date?

You can turn your tickets in before the movie begins and then buy tickets for another day. I don't think it works if you missed the shoe and try and turn the tickets in later.

Is the playroom for kids open?

No. The playroom is closed

Can you buy tickets at the counter or can you buy pre-tickets the day before showing at the counter?

You can do both!

Can you currently still buy tickets in person at the theater?

Yes!

Are they still offering the powder popcorn flavors or was it discontinued due to covid?

Unfortunately, popcorn flavoring has been discontinued due to covid.

Where is it located?

Cerritos. Off the 605 & South street

Is the bar currently open?

I saw Godzilla v. Kong during the Fri. on opening weekend, and it was not

Are u selling popcorn outside in Cerritos location?

Not anymore.

When will harkins theaters reopen?

Do the armrest go up?

They sure do :D

Do they check bags? And what if you have chips and snacks closed?

They don't but I don't bring meals in big bags or anything. I just take my tote purse and I bring snacks and drinks for 3 people and I never had an issue with them inspecting my purse.

How much is the price for early bird on 2D, 3D, and Ciné1?

Its 11.50 for mat.

Is there any day where there are specials on prices I have five kids and I am looking for a great deal?

We have matinee prices before 6PM and offer child tickets all week :D. Hope this helps!

Can I bring my own food if I can't eat what they offer?

Hi Tony, No outside food will be permitted to bring in.

Our movie started at 11:00 a.m., and we figured showing up 5-10 minutes beforehand would be plenty of time, but the line was surprisingly long. Between purchasing tickets and grabbing snacks from the concession stand, you'll want to give yourself a little extra time. One of the biggest perks is their $5 movie promotion on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays before 6:00 p.m. That alone makes it a great value. We also picked up snacks from the concession stand. The popcorn was fresh, which is always a plus at a movie theater. We also ordered nachos but the cheese wasn't my favorite, but it was decent. We got a large Icee as well, and I liked that large sizes come with free refills. They also offer beer, wine, and seltzers, which was a nice surprise. The theater itself isn't huge, but it was comfortable and clean. You select your seats when purchasing tickets, which was convenient. I hadn't been to a movie theater in a while, so that was new to me. They also have a rewards program, and I signed up during our visit because it seemed worthwhile. This isn't a luxury theater with all the bells and whistles, but that's part of its charm. It's a simple, no-frills neighborhood movie theater that's affordable, easy to visit, and perfect when you just want to catch a movie without the hassle. We'll definitely be back.

I loved the little tables for each seat, and the big cup holder. Less mess and spillage. Movie tickets were not cheap but luckily we have gift movie vouchers that discounted the price dramatically. The snack prices are outrageous, we spent 45 dollars on one small soda, one medium popcorn, and one little box of BunchaCrunch. More than twice as much as our discounted movie tickets. And they probably needed to add one more person behind the snack counter that day, line was getting pretty long - maybe that why they have super long ads before the movie so you don't miss the actual movie if you want to get a snack in this line :) Was it worth it? Probably for us, yes, as this is considered our little vacation date. If we are able to break away from our daily routine and spend time with eachother, it is well worth it. The sound was pretty loud but I loved it. Didn't like the 30++ minutes of ads before the flick. But I guess this will never change. Overall, it was a pretty good experience, for when you really need to see a certain movie on the big screen.

The employee who helped me was unbelievably rude from the start. She had a very condescending tone, barely acknowledged me, and just stood there in silence while I was trying to order, like I was inconveniencing her by being a customer. When I tried to show my ticket on the app, she told me to zoom in. I couldn't, so I offered to just read it out loud to make things easier. Instead of working with me, she snapped and raised her voice saying she has a hearing aid. Okay... but how does that justify being aggressive and unhelpful? There was zero patience, zero communication, and just an overall hostile attitude the entire interaction. It honestly felt uncomfortable and unnecessary going in the movie. It's frustrating because the theater itself is perfectly fine, but customer service like that completely kills the experience. I shouldn't feel like I'm bothering someone just to watch a movie. Wouldn't come back unless they seriously improve how they treat customers at the front.

This does not "make movies better". This is a terrible location. The theater looks like it was put together in someone's basement or garage. I watch movies for a living. I see movies in theaters from here to Australia. This theater puts the LIE in liemax. It must just barely meet the requirements to be called imax. The only relation it has to any real imax screen is possibly the aspect ratio. The screen appears to have just been stuck on wall. The aesthetics are ghetto at best. I haven't been here in years. So I decided to go with gf in tow, on a Saturday night, for 8:10pm…read moreshowing I did remember to come early to get a good spot to park. 39 minutes early is the latest to come. Otherwise you will be waiting in a huge line and may be fighting for a good spot, so you can be far away from the we*d smokers or smokers of any kind, if you are a nonsmoker like we are . Prices are still cheap. Only $14 for general admission (12 and older). Way better than walk in theater general admission prices. Pretty sure ticket prices are cash. So make sure you have cash for tickets. We came to see Mortal Kombat II. Which was amazing. I never saw the first movie. But you don't have to have seen the first to follow this movie. One reason I wanted to see this movie is Mortal Kombat II is my favorite video game (SNES) version of the MK video games. The best place to see an action movie is on the massive drive-in theater movie screen. Not Imax, etc. So we went here. Another great thing about drive in theaters is you can bring your own food and you can have privacy with your date inside your vehicle, if you know what I mean . Just have privacy glass. Because a family of kids can be parked next to your vehicle. If you want, you can bring chairs and sit outside your vehicle and watch. Which is also a great choice. Especially if you have kids. They will love sitting outside. If you do sit outside, bring a coat, blanket, etc. It gets cold at night. The concession is cheap af and not like walk in movie theater prices. For example, their large popcorn is huge. Yet its only $10 with taxes. We got ours with extra butter. They offer a lot of other good stuff too at great prices. But we only wanted warm popcorn with extra butter. I saw some raggedy ATM machines in there. Not sure if concession got them there so you can use cash to buy food. But I didn't ask as I already had some cash on me to buy popcorn. So make sure you bring cash for concession as well. Make sure you vehicle radio can tune to 90.1 FM and you can leave it on without it draining your battery and without parking/headlights being activated. It drives us movie goers crazy when some foolish person will turn on their headlights while everyone else is trying to enjoy the film. Also, if you need a radio for showing, you can buy one from them for $20 at concession. Great experience here. I love this place. Like I said, I havent been here in like 6 years. Last time I was here, one ticket paid for double feature. Which was a steal. Because after Mortal Kombat II, I was looking forward to seeing Michael again. Which we already saw at a walk in theater. But we were ready to see it again on the biggest screen ever. They dont do double features anymore. So if the website shows two movies, dont misread like I did. It clearly says: "TICKETS ARE FOR A SINGLE SHOW TIME ONLY." I was wondering why everyone was leaving after Mortal Kombat II was over . We stayed in vehicle until security drove by and told us they only do single features. We weren't the only ones he had to tell. Great experience here. Cant wait to see another larger than life movie here.

I've literally been trying to make this happen for the last 20 years -- get a truck, throw pillows…read moreand blankets in the back, and have a real drive-in movie night. Somehow there was always one ingredient missing... the truck, the timing, or the friends willing to do it.Last night it finally happened.I convinced two of my guy friends to go with me -- one visiting from Missouri and one from Temecula -- and we were all ridiculously excited. We honestly didn't think we were going to make it because our movie didn't start until 11 PM, but we pushed through. We had a bonfire first, and right as it turned 11 and we were getting ready to leave, I tripped, fell, and sprained my ankle. Worst timing ever. But if there's one thing about me, I do not like bailing on plans. I said nope, we're still going. We were just going to be sitting anyway, all cuddled up in the back of the truck with blankets and pillows, so I powered through. I tried really hard to get comfortable, and even with the ankle situation, it was still such a fun experience. This one is definitely going down in the memory books. There's just something so nostalgic and special about a drive-in movie. It feels like one of those classic '80s activities that hardly exists anymore, which honestly makes me sad. I'm so glad we finally did it, and I would absolutely do it again. If you've been thinking about doing a drive-in movie night, take this as your sign. Do it.
