we've been coming to Harkins since it opened, it's a modern theater with recliner (reserved) seating. Customer service is good, and the food is actually pretty good for a movie theater. I personally enjoy the salted pretzel the best. Pro tip- if you just want concessions snacks (candy), try ordering at the bar rather than waiting in the main concession lines, sometimes the bartenders there can get you what you need. The seats and theater floors are clean, which is huge when you really just want to relax and enjoy a movie. I've never had a problem with lighting, sound or the projectors. There are only four Harkins Theatres in CA (Moreno Valley, Redlands, Chino Hills). I've been to the ones in MoVal and Redlands. This was my first visit to the Cerritos location and it was fabulous. The customer service was excellent and it's pretty clean throughout. I saw The Death of Robin Hood, which was kind of boring. It was mainly violence, then it ended, lolz. I appreciate Hugh Jackman, but the story failed to entice me. read more

My go to movie spot as it is reasonablly priced and located supser close! Parking is always busy during peak movie viewing times and most the day, but that is expected since it is part of the mall. However a little bit further parking with a slight walk is no problem for me as there is always parking a little ways down. I dont have a good to snack, but a good rotation for snacks I like is the the nachos, pretzel, or the popcorn! Definitely do love their candy deals too, but I dont always get the candies. read more

First time coming to the new Harkins Theater here in the Cerritos mall area and honestly this place is great. Ever since they remodeled the movie theater, it feels super modern and comfortable. The seats were honestly one of the best parts. They recline and have that soft cushioned sofa-style feel which made the whole movie experience way better. The picture quality was great, the sound system was solid, and overall the theater just felt really clean and well kept. We kept it simple and just got popcorn and a large soda to share. Honestly, it was more than enough for both me and my wife. We asked for an extra container so we could split the popcorn, and I loaded mine up with butter while she kept hers plain. Small thing, but the staff was cool about it. I also liked the location. It's right by Cheesecake Factory and the whole Cerritos mall area, so there's plenty to do before or after the movie. I noticed they even have a bar inside which looked pretty nice. Next time I go, I'm definitely showing up a little earlier to grab a couple drinks beforehand. We didn't try the food since we had already eaten, but the pizzas actually looked pretty good, and I saw they also have burgers and chicken sandwiches. Overall, this is honestly a really good movie theater and definitely a spot I'd come back to. read more

Good location! Came to see the new Super Mario Galaxy movie that everyone and their moms and grandmothers were complaining about (THE MOVIE WAS FINE, GOOD, BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE, IN MY OPINION). I came with a large group of my friends and personally showed up pretty late as the ads started running before the movie started. It was a bit hard to get parking since it's a part of the Cerritos mall and was a Friday evening, so I had to walk a bit. I never go to the movies anymore because like most people I do streaming. But, I am a fan of the Scream franchise, so I went to Harkins Theatres in Cerritos to see Scream 7. There was no line at the box office, we chose our seats and I received a student discount with my college ID. Since I still had time before the movie started, I bought popcorn and a Slurpee at the concession stand. The theatre was clean, I found my seats easily, and there was more than enough trash cans when you exited the theatre. I was hesitant to leave the comfort of my own house because I was afraid it would be too crowded or loud. But, I had a really great time and enjoyed the movie! read more

This used to be my go-to movie theater. It's big and spacious, and all the seats are recliners. However, I feel like the quality has gone down. There have been multiple times when the seats weren't working. Also, the ICEE machine doesn't work sometimes. Either get it fixed or buy a new one. There's no clear concession line. It's more like you line up for whoever is available. And if someone opens at the other end and yells that they're ready, by the time you get there, someone else already gets in line. I went to watch Mario Galaxy opening weekend, and the screen wasn't working. They gave us a refund and a free ticket to use another time. It was a hassle because we had a large group. We had to pick another showing, and we all didn't get to sit with each other. What sucked was that we'd bought a lot of food to eat while watching the movie, but we had to wait another hour for the other showing. read more

Came to watch He-Man yesterday and literally had a panic attack. I forgot my phone in the theater and went up to the entrance and luckily the manager Giovanni was up there to assist me. He did everything he could to calling his associates and then he continued to escort me back to my seat. He was just as concerned as me and thank god I found it under the seat. Although it's a bit of drive for us, we still make the effort to see a movie here. It's the best theatre around without debate. It's relatively new and built for the luxury experience, unlike most other theatres that converted from the old school layout. The theatre i big, 16 screens with a large concession area. The highlight is the bar/lounge area which is never full. The bar is beer and wine only. The theatres themselves are spacious with plenty of room to walk without having to crawl over anyone. Seats are comfortable and everything is always clean. Another nice thing is that there are plenty of dining options nearby for before or after a movie. read more

I have to say Harkin's has remained a well maintained theater since it has been open. The best part of seeing a movie here is it is one of the cleanest theaters I have experienced and staffed well. My husband and I saw Avatar Fire and Ash in Cine XL and if you know that is a long movie but with recliner seats you forget you're seating for such an extended period of time because you can put your feet up. This was the last time I will go to the movies at Harkins Theatres at the Cerritos Mall. My daughter wanted to see the movie Backrooms, so we decided on Cerritos Mall Harkins. We visited the concession stand and purchased a large soda and a large popcorn. During the movie, which I found very entertaining, we stopped at the counter to get our free refill of popcorn. The employee (DJ) asked for my phone number, so I gave it to him, but I asked why he needed it for a refill when I did not give my phone number when I purchased the initial popcorn. The employee said that he had to go get his manager. When the manager, Mitchell Siersma, walked up, he said that I could only get a refill if I had Harkins Rewards. I shared with him that I was not told this when I purchased the popcorn. He said that I had to download the app and become a member to get the refill--If I had known this, I would not have paid more for the large to be refilled. Therefore, I stated that the employee that initially sold me the popcorn should have notified customers that they need to purchase the app to receive the refill. He just stared at me with an odd smile, so I asked the manager for his card, so I could make a complaint, but he said that he did not have one. When I got back home, I disclosed to my son what had occurred, and he revealed that the same happened to him at the Cerritos Mall Harkins last week. We will not be back. We absolutely loved our movie we saw. We watched Moana 2 with 4 little kids, all under 5. We all loved the RECLINING SEATS!! Those are a game changer! They were so comfortable and the kids loved playing with the buttons. Lol. We had some rewards so we got a free medium popcorn and upgraded for like $3 to an extra large which comes with a free refill. We got both so that we don't need to come back. Everything was super nice and we even had extra seats since the movie theater wasnt packed at all. Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely come back to this one. read more

I came here to watch Thunderbolts* and didn't realize they actually have wines and craft beers on tap to enjoy before, during or after movie. Their leather reclining seats were really comfortable. Clean men's restroom too! The biggest downside was difficult parking due to popularity of the Cerritos Mall, but overall I had an enjoyable time and I can see myself re-visit this movie theater again. read more

This is literally my go-to movie theater, me and my husband come here at least every month (or even twice, three times). We actually went two Fridays in a row already and 2025 just begun haha. Always a great experience here. I love love love their popcorn, like I swear sometimes I go, just for the popcorn :') It's also great that they have the loyalty cups for 3 dollar refills. We always save these and take it with us every time we go to the movies for our Diet Coke. They have a good amount of stuff in the menu as well, we eat dinner here at times during our movie when we don't have time to grab a bite before the movie. Love their chicken tendies and mozz sticks! They have a bar too, which I've never tried but it's a nice touch. Service here is pretty decent as well, I haven't really had a bad experience with any of the workers. Slowest workers in the world. My movie started at 6:15, got there at 6:10 and waited in line for 30 minutes to get my food when THE LINE WASNT EVEN LONG. When I was standing in line for my hot dog for 10 minutes I asked the girl if my number had been called....all they had to do was get my fucking hot dog out the oven..it was already ready. They had me wait in line and miss the first 5-10 minutes of my movie. I've seen many of them just daydream while doing their job and they actually walk so fucking slow. I've been going to this theater for years and the experience is consistently good overall. The theaters are clean, the popcorn is good, the picture and sound quality are excellent, the seats are comfortable, the staff is great, and the location has plenty of parking as part of the Cerritos Mall. Tons of great places to have a meal nearby before or after the show. Their app is convenient and easy to use for both buying tickets and preordering food. They even have a play area for kids...a rare thing for movie theaters. I drive past two other, closer theaters to go to this one. They recently upgraded their theater #16 so now both #1 and #16 are a full Dolby Atmos experience. Seeing super well crafted movies in those Dolby theaters is truly next level. Only two things I would recommend for them to go from 4 to 5 stars. One, they should have a single line for their concession windows...even on slow days. As it is, it's confusing to know where to stand, which registers are open, etc. Also, that would help avoid...disagreements...that I've seen over who was in line first when an additional register is opened. If it's a slower day, have less stanchions set up to shorten the line. The other item is cell phone use in their theaters is getting really bad. In the last year, I've been to about 15 movies at this place. For every single show, someone pulled out their cell phone multiple times. I know it would be ridiculous to ask them to pay someone to stay there the whole time to police it. They have 16 screens so that would be a big expense to add 16 new jobs...but they need to do something more to counter this. I've started buying tickets closer to the screen than I prefer just to reduce the chances of someone in front of me opening their phone by reducing the number of people in front of me altogether. I give this feedback because I love this theater and I want it to stay the best place around to see movies. It still is that for me. read more

The staff is friendly, attentive, and polite, The theatres are great for movie watching with comfortable reclining chairs, great sound, and incredible movie screens. The unfortunate part about my most recent visit was because it was an early 10:00am showing the bar was not open until 11am. Neither one of us was going to walk out in the middle of a movie to the concession area.
