Let's start with what this theater gets right. The staff I interact with here tend to be a little more friendly than the other 3 Regals in the area. I Love, with a capital L, the little tables on the recliners. I wish all of the local theaters would adopt them. It seems silly, but they are one of the main reasons this is my most frequented theaters... don't judge me. Lol. Where are they middle of the road? Cleanliness can be hit or miss. Some stuff is a little outdated, but I do believe they are working on that, there were new chairs going in recently. The food menu is hit or miss. I feel like out of all of the Regals that are in the area, they seem to not have what I am looking for most often, some of that is because I am here the most, but some of that seems to be an ordering issue or maybe Regal forces certain menu layouts even if a theater doesn't have those offerings... I am looking at you elusive Tandoori Popcorn. Last, but not least, is something I'll mention, but won't dock them any stars for, the location. I never personally feel uncomfortable here, solo or with company. I have had 2 partners that have said they would come with me, but not alone. I have also witnessed a couple of fights here. In this theaters defense, they can't help where they are located or who is around. In addition, they do a good job keeping security officers here, and I do believe they take customer safety seriously. Security seems to be responsive and I have seen them do everything from deescalate someone in the lobby, to deal with chatty/loud movie goers. Usually they are just a quiet presence and everything is smooth. There are less and less theaters in the area as time passes, I recommend supporting any theaters you can. read more

I have not been to a movie theatre since before COVID. My son wanted see a movie with th me so we went. Remember I have not been in forever..I love buying my seat on line ahead of time. We get there all you have to do Is scan an go to your seat. The staff here was super nice. We went during the afternoon, (cheapER).so was not busy. I totally loved you have a little tv table put your snack and drinks on as well. My only complaint was they need to do a better job cleaning between movies as there was tons of popcorn on my seat and little sticky. But we were lucky movie was not full so we moved down a bit. I definitely missed being in the theatre for sure. Not a cheap date anymore, but still enjoyable. read more

The theater was not crowded, so I did not hear anyone talking during the movie. I have been to this theater before, but I do not think I ever watched a movie in the number 1 theater. It has a somewhat strange, in my opinion, configuration with the stairs sort of winding around to get to the upper seats. Luckily we arrived before the (endless) coming attractions and commercials when the lights were still on. There was an entire 1/2 hour of commercials and coming attractions before the feature movie started. The theater loses a star for that 1/2 hour of commercials and terrible movie clips. read more

The theater was clean, the staff was friendly, and the reclining seats were comfortable and worked well. After the movie I spoke to the manager about the high temperature in the theater. They had some trouble with the HVAC unit today. They gave us movie passes and apologized for the heat despite the fact that they were working on it. I was pleased with this resolution of my issue and the offer from management. read more

This movie theater is in a great location, near public transit, has a fairly large parking space and it's in a good spot to get a meal or drink after your movie. Theater seats could be cleaned more frequently. Small suggestion: Please add a paper towel dispenser to the bathrooms. read more

Unlimited movies subscription. Iwas going to see Invitation but realized I had already seen the movie after I sat down and began watching the movie. Went back to the counter and explained my problem. They were understanding and let me go to see the movie Thor-Love and thunder. I did have to sign a receipt but other than that I had no problem getting to the second movie. The actual movie show in theater 10 didn't appear that it had been cleaned. The previous already started so I turned off the theaters' overhead lights and settled in to watch the show. THE MOVIE Thor Love and Thunder was very good not a big fan of Hero comic book genre pictures but this one was really enjoyable for me . I recommend it for everyone to see. read more

I don't know why I thought this location didn't have a private lot. Maybe because it's on Elmwood. But it does, and it has reclining seats like the Regal at the Galleria. So if you're in the mood for dinner and a movie, and you want to go to a nice restaurant in the Northtowns instead of a chain (not that I don't love the Cheesecake Factory) or just want to avoid the mall traffic, this is the theater to go to. It may have been a slow night, but we didn't have any problems finding a decent parking spot. The concession lines were a little long, though. It's clean and cozy. This theater is fairly standard for Regal cinemas. I am a Regal Unlimited member, so I'll go to Regal theaters in whatever city I'm in. My last visit to this theater was to see Frozen 2 with my sister. It was during the holidays, so it was packed. We moved quickly through the long line to buy our tickets. The theater seats were comfortable recliners and had little arm desks attached. One disappointment was that the theater we were in was not in the stadium seating so style. There was some gradation, but you have the head of the person in front of you in your line of sight. Since the screen is raised, the person in front of you wouldn't likely obstruct the screen. This theater operated well when I was there, I was just disappointed in the venue design. read more

Continues to be my go-to theater in the area and it's generally a great experience. Sometimes the lighting is off on some movies (I think they forget to take off the 3-D/Blue filter) and the audio level can be all over the place, but 90% of the time, everything is good. read more

I only went there this time to get ducks out of the claw machine. My boys & I collect them & there was a whole new series of them in there. But, normally when I do go to see a movie, I can say that obviously the prices for movies, pop, popcorn & other snacks are so overpriced it's ridiculous. All I can usually afford is a large pop which I share with my son. The sound for the movies is good, but each theater is either FREEZING or so HOT & STUFFY it's intolerable. There has to be a happy medium. I like that there are a few restrooms there,so they're not usually so packed u have to wait long. The Regal card is nice to have & sometimes can really save you some money, so if u don't have 1 yet, get one. read more

So with the improvements to the seating, Regal Cinema on Elmwood is a solid place to catch a flick. The seats recline now, so it's super comfortable. My wife loves to see movies; even if it's a movie I'm not particularly interested in seeing, I enjoy coming here because I can lay down in the seats and recline so far back; probably could even catch a nap. The concessions are meh, but I do enjoy the loaded waffle fries they offer with bacon. They are AOK, but seems to be the best value as far as concessions go to me. read more

They have assigned recliner seating now and they're close to me. Those are pretty much the reasons I come here. They're not usually sold out, pretty typical concessions. Sometimes there's security, I assume they've had issues with mixed crowds but I've never seen anything bothersome. read more

I have had two separate instances where me and a couple other friends have had to argue with security to let us in to see G rated movies such as puss and boots and the Mario movie. It's pretty aggravating since I buy my groups tickets online in advance and I'm still denied entry. Security also likes to use this to their advantage by making themselves seem high and mighty to a bunch of teenage kids who just want to relax and enjoy a Friday or Saturday night. read more

Over the holidays we decided to go to the regal Elmwood because it was least crowded and has seat reservations. Once we sat down to watch our movie the usual pre-show countdown begin. It was there 25 minute long noovies.com. Unfortunately, this evening there was a problem with the projector so our preshow program was filled with strobing lights and flickering screens. You would get a headache if you watch it anymore than 90 seconds of it. So I went outside the theater flag down an usher and I asked him to fix the problem. Unfortunately this young usher was a snide, pithy, teen who assured me in extremely patronizing tones that the flickering would stop momentarily. I asked him if he knew how soon it would stop because we had another 25 minutes before the movie began. What I got out of this teen was this exhausted sense of annoyance that he would have to deal with me. He assured me that the movie would be clear because it would be using another projector. So all of us in the theater had to watch 20 minutes of the type of strobe action that North Korea uses to torture dissidents. Indeed one person vomited in the theater. Aside from the problematic screen, this theater has reclining seats that at first glance seem comfortable but you are forced to contend with a strange extended arm that is designed to hold snacks and drinks. Realistically this arm is as useful as having a small snack tray swing and fumble every time you move. If you're looking for an often empty theater, the Regal Elmwood fits the bill. But if you are fussy about service, screen quality, and seat comfort than this theater forces you to compromise. read more

Oh man I really enjoyed this theater and i had a great experience here the other day. The ticket line moved quick and the reclining movie chairs were fantastic. I usually only visit the Walden Galleria movie theater so when I found this one had better upgraded chairs than even they do I was impressed. The swing around little tables is a super nice touch and makes a lot of sense for holding snacks or whatever you've got. The new seats are lovely, but you probably already know that. Last night was not the first time I've gone to this movie theater since the remodel. But it will definitely be the last time I buy tickets online from the Regal Elmwood website. The online seating showed a tiered room. As it was a 3D movie, I reserved row C, which was indicated as 3rd row from the back. The room (screen 6) turned out to be a square room with row C third from the screen. Additionally, we were not given 3D glasses by the box office when I picked up our tickets, nor by the ticket taker-- who was half asleep leaning against the water fountain. The box office man wasn't sure what to do with my booking number (I don't have a smartphone), but fairly quickly figured it out. Then waking the ticket taker... we simply overlooked the fact we'd need 3D glasses. It wasn't until the first blurry preview that we realized we didn't have them. Between the seats being not where I'd reserved and having to get glasses, we missed the very beginning of the film. The manager was not at all helpful. He pointed out that there was indeed a row C and indicated that's where we should sit. The room was mostly empty. Online, the handicap seating was very close to the screen. Screen 6, in contrast, the handicap seating was along the back wall. My companion sat in row C. I sat in handicap, as there was room there for my walker. Obviously, had the seating layout been correct according to what I'd reserved, I'd have folded the walker and parked it someplace in order to sit 3rd row from the back. A-OK for last night's experience because the movie was watchable and the sound was good. [I'm not reviewing the movie here] But, in future, I will buy tickets only at the box office. Certainly, the box office seating chart should match the screening rooms. read more

Since they have redone the seats and put in recliners and trays, this Regal is amazing. It's overpriced and the concessions are expensive, but that's standard for any movie theater. It's nice that they have the recliner seats to go with the price now. Popcorn is good and staff are friendly. If you go on a Tuesday, movies are $5.50 all day and popcorn is half off! read more

Absolutely nothing to complain about with this theater or the staff. The clientele can be iffy, but that's true at the Galleria too. They've installed new recliners in all of the theaters and each one has a little table for food that swings out. Lots of walking room in front of each row too. Really modern and a nice way to enjoy a movie...if you don't have some disrespectful teenagers talking behind you at full volume. Tuesdays seem to be cheap night- $6.95! read more

Its fine. That's the perfect word for this theater. Not the first choice, but it is an easy distance from the city, closer than The Galleria or Transit Road theaters. Parking here is pretty good, but if there's a popular movie on it could be a hike to the car. Check in goes somewhat fast, all things considered. They usually have two or three people selling tickets. There is also a machine, but it can be temperamental with credit cards, so be aware of that. Send one person to try there and have another on the line "just in case". The popcorn here is ok actually. surprisingly. Don't know about any other options at the counter though. The lines there move SO SLOW its painful, but also a good deterrent to buying anything, your hips will thank you. Movies here run the range of children's to adult and various audiences as well. Given that, sometimes this place can be a little creepy later in the evening. Daytime there are specials and the like, you can often get a cheap movie ticket here if you are willing to wait a day or two. read more

In a world where less and less people are going to movie theaters and instead using their computers, Netflix, etc... these theaters have got to pick up their game, especially this one! As a long time customer of Regal Cinema Elmwood 16 (I live pretty close by), I have seen the trials and tribulations of this Regal. I'd say that unfortuantely it has just continued to decline. The previous two times I went to buy tickets at the time of seeing the movie, I had to go inside to the service desk. They don't even have anyone working the ticket booth anymore and they ripped the tickets at the desk, not when I approached the actual theaters. Let me just say this makes finding the proper theater even harder. Aren't they all "straight ahead on your left/right?!" I'm giving this Regal three stars due to the fact they have $5 movie tickets all day every Tuesday and a couple other deals during the week for the Regal Crown Club members. The deals were so "good" that I didn't even have to use my Entertainment Book coupon because it wouldn't have been worth it. This of course was on a Tuesday. I must say it would be nice to have a remodel of sorts in the future! read more

Considering the so-so reviews this is a very nice theater. My wife and I were visiting family from out of town and still wanted to see the new 'Avengers Infinity War' film at a theater that we could reserve our tickets at for a specific date and time. This theater was close to our hotel, not our first choice but it's where we could find tickets for the right date and time. It was my first time in Buffalo so I don't know the area well and some of the Yelp! reviews were very questionable. I'm not sure if this is a OK part of town or kind of dodgy... Either way it just seems like a theater that a lot of kids hang out at. I'm used to this type of theater as a teen, but as a trendy millennial now I like a premium cinema going experience that serves beer, wine and other overpriced goods. This theater was not really that different than some of the popular theaters in my area that tend to attract a lot of teens. Even the type of theater I worked at as a teenager. Maybe things can get rowdy on a Friday or Saturday night, but seeing a police officer as security on the weekends was mentioned in other reviews as standing out as cause for concern. It's nothing new to me. Wait, maybe i'm from a bad part of town in my area? Any how... The concessionists and door people were very friendly. Their large popcorn and sodas were probably twice the size of the larges at my local theater. I swear their large soda is just a two liter bottle of soda. The popcorn was fresh. No complaints there. The theaters were very clean, spacious and had those very nice fully reclining seats and their 3D theaters were brighter than usual. My biggest complaint as others had mentioned is that the bathrooms clearly need an overhaul and are still kind of dingy compared to the rest of the theater that's been updated. Don't let the Yelp! reviews scare you off, this is a fine theater. read more

We generally like the theater very much. However, we have recently been incurring a continuing problem. My wife is handicapped and the theaters' policy states that a companion seat can only be purchased along with a wheelchair seat. This is true online and at the kiosk in the Regal complex. However, if you go to the counter to get your ticket they routinely sell companion seats to singles and people who clearly are not using the handicapped spaces - sometimes not leaving space for the truly handicapped. The manager essentially said there was nothing they would do about it even though it violates their own policy. NO need to ask if they are handicapped - just require them to be sold together as their own policy dictates. read more

After reading some reviews of this theater we were a little worried. But, we'd already purchased our tickets for "Avengers: Infinity War" and every other theater in the area seemed to be sold out for this show. I was pleasantly surprised by our lovely experience! The concessionists were friendly, and the sizes were massive (like, seriously about a 2-liter sized cup of soda!). I liked the way they did their stadium seating, it was a little different than anything I'd seen before but it put us up higher, which I liked. Our seats reclined, with foot rests, which is the first time I'd experienced that and was wonderful after a day of walking around. The bathrooms were clean, the parking lot was fine. I don't know what others are talking about with their complaints but this place is great. read more

Alright, let's just start at the part where one of the employee called "Nathan" cursed us out while I was putting my coat on and talking to my girlfriend. The incident happened around 9:15 pm December 15, 2017 on theater 4, right after Star Wars: the last Jedi played. As we were leaving and putting our coats on I was having a conversation with my girlfriend all of a sudden their employee called "Nathan" said (word for word) : "yeah, he didn't tell you and we don't care, now get the hell out". I used to like this place a lot because of how nice the staff WAS, but now they're switching their staff to immature kids that do not value their future. Why do I say this? Because his little friends were going along as he said that and laughed at him as if it was a joke. My actions were the following: I walked down to him looked at him in the eye shook his hand and asked for his name. Then I reported him to the mana Now, I hope he gets fired because I'm pretty sure that it's not the first time that this has happened with their boy "Nathan". Good luck to him and I hope he watches his actions in the future. ***UPDATE*** 7-22-18 The guy doesn't work there anymore and the staff is WAAAAAAY friendlier than before. First time at the regal in years since I'm usually at the AMC. The 3 stars are for the reclining seats, that came to an absolute surprise to me. Very pleased with the little tray that you can set your snacks on too, I believe that would come in handy for children. Theater seemed pretty clean as well, extremely happy about that considering past experiences with this theater that are ultimately the reason I stopped coming here in the first place. I felt like the lobby was a bit rowdy for a Wednesday night showing. Not going to say much more about that. In my opinion, you should set up a better line structure at the snack counter. I can't count how many times I had someone try to cut in front of me and had to redirect them to the back of the line. Spent 30 bucks on popcorn, two drinks and the cookie dough bites. Same overpriced snacks as always but the new seat upgrades really changed my outlook on this theater. read more

Hey, don't sell a ticket to a toddler for The Quiet Place. It's a horror movie that's also non dialogue for about 95 percent of the movie. And when someone actually walks out of the theater and complains about it, and you say you'll send someone in to address the talking/crying baby, you should actually send someone into the theater. Not just say you will and then forget about it. I had this hunch that I wasn't going to get a rebate if I complained on account of the people there seeming like they didn't care, so I didn't bother. this place has been here for a long time and I just came back to it after many years.I like that when you have regal crown club rewards you can get points for buying movie tickets or snacks and the points get you free movies or snacks too. You can choose which seat you sit in, which is great and eliminates people fighting over seats that are empty yet "someone is sitting there." Assigned seating it definitely an upgrade to the olden days. The seats are comfortable and they recline and have drink holders right in the arms. read more

I used to think this was the Regal that the Regal didn't really care about. It felt a little dingy and got of bottom feeding in nature. Like the popcorn might have been trucked in from a suburban theater in a "let's send the city kids" some corn kind of way. Thankfully, that is no longer. the venerable moviehouse on Elmwood is in the midst of a nice facelift. Everything seems like folks are giving a hoot and the theaters are in the process of getting renovated to the lounge chair and table design. I heartily approve. It makes for an odd layout in some theaters, to walk in and see a few rows of lazyboys and staircases taking you to the rest of the theaters. Pro tip - take those stairs, the sightlines, the sounds and the comfort make that last row worth it, especially if it is a sought after film. Everything is typically overpriced like all movie going experiences of late, but this is a nice bit of comfort for your weary soul. If you are queing up for a summer blockbuster, it's good to have a comfy chair and quality corn to blast the bad guys. read more

Solid theater in the Regal chain. Nice location on Elmwood. Just saw Hereditary with my friend in the reclining seats. Was pleased no one carded us (I'm 22 and I often get carded for R movies because I look young). The cashier was also very patient with my Movie Pass card that can cause problems. No one in line for concessions or tickets, so it was easy. Employees were all very friendly. In the past, I've come on busy nights and the area can get a little seedy, but today I had no problems. It never failed growing up visiting my grandparents. They would take us to the movies and every single time my grandmother, never hesitating to share her feelings, would engage the concessions people in a mostly one-side dialogue, "You're prices are outrageous. You need to tell that to your manager." As a youngster, I was always embarrassed but of course I wasn't the one paying. Now that I am the one paying, I look back on my grandmother's forthrightness with pride. Add on top of that the concession prices and you are easily spending $20 to see a movie. Add on top of that trying to pay for your date's ticket as well and you're in the $30-40 range. People of all ages take their significant other out for dinner and movie. So that's $30-40 plus what you pay for dinner. A high school boy should be able to take a girl out to a movie for less than $30. I already cringe when I see the aspiring (or non-aspiring) men of the coming generation in that moment of space and time when it's decided whose money or card will be taken to pay for the movie or dinner or coffee. More often than not, I see them paying separately or even worse, the girl paying for the guy. I'm not saying the man should pay all the time or that women are not as a capable of making money (clearly, that is not true). But a gentleman should at least show some level of assertiveness and not look like an indecisive buffoon when it comes time to pay (or not pay) for his date who is gracious enough to bless an undeserving young lad with pleasure of her company. The point is, taking a girl out to a movie with popcorn and drink shouldn't cost $30 when high school boys are working minimum wage jobs. This theater is too expensive.
