This is an OK location to stop for a family film, but it's taken a hard downward turn over the years that is significantly difficult to miss. With declining viewership & attendance numbers the location closed it's second concession stand, the former spic & span theaters tend to be a bit messy, and the parking lot is a mess. Sketchy at night, and at times the theaters can get a bit out of control with loud & rude customers. Which tends to ruin the experience. On one occasion, while watching the latest John Wick film, my wife had the misfortune of sitting on a wet seat (yeah, it was urine & the trousers were ruined) Other than that, with a little caution, it's fine. Though I think a little more attention to detail & customer experience would go a very, very long way. It has so much potential. read more

I originally wrote a review of this theater about ten years ago, and a lot has changed since then. Not for the better. Out of all the Regal locations in the area, this one has slipped into being the weakest overall. The staff experience is very hit or miss. Some employees are attentive and present, while others seem more interested in chatting with friends or sneaking phone time in over helping customers. The cleanliness has also dropped too. It's not dirty to the level of being gross, but it no longer feels well cared for or consistently maintained. The seating hasn't been updated, so it's still the old style, which honestly sums up what feels off about this location. It feels stuck in the past. Everything comes across as a little worn and tired compared to other Regal theaters nearby. There doesn't seem to be much pride or urgency in keeping the space polished. Concessions are another weak spot. The standard snack options are usually fine, but anything beyond the basics are regularly unavailable. I've also had very little luck with promotional snack, which are frequently out of stock here compared to other locations. This used to be one of the better Regal theaters years ago. I find myself choosing any of the other Regal locations instead, including driving all the way out to Orchard Park, when this would be the most convenient location for me coming from Lockport. I hope this theater eventually gets some updates... refreshed seating, improvements to the IMAX, or just a renewed focus on upkeep and staff engagement. It's possible things have changed since my last visit three to six months ago, but as of now, it's unfortunately a no for me. read more

I came to check out a marvel movie during opening weekend. It was quiet and I appreciated that there wasn't a long line. While they don't have lounge chairs, I was comfortable the entire time. The staff was friendly, I took a classic photo booth picture. It was a fun time. read more

Went to an IMAX movie on a Thursday night 7. When you walk in you can use the machine to purchase tickets with assigned seating, I purchased online before coming and they then scane the code. The only bathroom is when you go past the ticket taker and the IMAX screen is down a long hallway. The theater itself was very big and very dark when we walked in. It was nice and clean and the seats were comfortable, they are the average movie theater chairs and the cup holder arm rest can be lifted. The movie was supposed to start at 7 but the previews didn't start for at least 10 minutes and then there was at least 15 minutes of previews. Overall, it is a nice theater and I would recommend. read more

It's ok. Hadn't been here in years. It was clean. There are no longer people to buy tickets from at the front anymore. There are kiosks there now but if you want to buy from a person / pay cash ... you can pay at concessions. Tuesdays are cheaper for tickets with I think half priced popcorn too. Seats aren't super comfortable. Ads before movie start are longer than ever; Expect the movie to start about 25 minutes after time listed. Not a bad experience but I prefer the comfort and price of watching at home myself. read more

Haven't been to a movie theater in quite a long time. I don't see the sense in paying for movies that will be on TV or on demand shortly after release, especially since super sized big screen TV technology can give a theater type experience right in my own living room. Freshly popped movie theater style microwave popcorn is far better than at the theater at price gouging costs. Same is true about drinks and candy. You would think that theater corporations would open their eyes and adjust their prices to better compete with streaming services and supermarket snack food prices. As you can see from the photo, at the start of the new release I was there for, the theater was just about empty. The two stars I'm giving are for the fact that the theater and restroom were very clean. But how dirty can it get when there are so few patrons. read more

First time in a movie theater since Covid hit! We naturally had to check out Quiet Place Part 2 because of the Buffalo connection even if it's not the type of movie I'd normally go to. Thought this review isn't on the movie but the theater. We attended on a Thursday afternoon so obviously didn't expect to see much of a crowd. No one was working at the ticket booth and there was a sign instructing you to purchase your tickets at the concession stand. There were 2 people together in front of us so expected it to go quickly. Well, not sure exactly what was going on but no exaggeration, we waited atleast 15 minutes to get up to the counter. Maybe one of the other workers could have come over to help. Good thing we were early! On the good side, the guys working the counter was very friendly. You would expect Regal to have nice seats. Wrong again. I know some of the smaller chains (like Dipson Amherst Theatre) have the newer comfortable recliners with giant arm rest and cup holders. Here it was the older worn out sunk in seats. Felt like you were sitting in a hole. Overall great to be back at the movies but not sure I'd got to this Regal again. 2021-81 read more

It's not going to be easy to review an IMAX theater and not be affected by the movie that was playing which was super entertaining and loaded with wow factors. I quickly forgot about the unpleasant smelling air we met approached the room. It was a mix of locker room and old, dusty furniture. We had the armrests up to be closer to each other, which also saved us from the sticky dirty plastic which I was lucky enough not to discover myself. Generally, this is not the cleanest place, but everything else was just outstanding. The sound and picture were mind blowing. Personally, I don't need to lay down to be comfortable while watching movies at the theater, so recliners are not necessary for me. I had no discomfort sitting for 3 hours -- yes the commercials took at least 20 minutes. I bought my tickets using Fandango. We went through the ticket taker spot fast and smooth receiving 3D glasses at the same time. The people who work there are like robots without being programmed to smile or say anything, not even the two magic words. Maybe at some point in the future, a real machine will take care of us scanning the barcode from my device. At the same time, they should hire a bigger cleaning crew or just reorganize the current workers who can focus just on cleaning. At this point I'm a big fan of IMAX and will lower my expectations when it comes to factors other than the quality of the movie. read more

Went to go see the newest jurassic park movie last night purchased imax theater tickets for the screening. Very pricey for the tickets purchased 4 imax tickets for the 7pm showing and it came to over $80.00 It was completely sold out !! And they dont use the newest recliner seats like most theaters do. They use those old swivel seats that are small and uncomfortable!!! Especially for myself being 6ft4 300 pounds. Prices for snacks are to be expected so be prepared I dont think i would do the imax experience again the sound was much wayyyyy!!!! What an odd experience, pulling into the movie theater parking lot on a Friday after work & getting close-to-the-door parking... For the number of employees working, there shouldn't have been a line for tickets, admission into the theater, or for concessions. As I waited for my friend to arrive, there were several managers/assistant managers meandering back & forth across the lobby/front of house, and it seemed like there wasn't much motivation to address/care for the incoming customers. I did enjoy my concessions, my seat was comfortable, and the theater environment was neither too hot nor too cold. I do wish a greater selection of concessions were available, such as trail mix or a nut & chocolate combo. read more

Everything. It's outdated. The seats have not been upgraded to the reclining seats. They were very uncomfortable with the people behind bumping them and holding onto them as they left the seats, it would shake each time they got up. We're were the farthest from the bathroom which had a line to wait in. I felt like we missed 15 minutes of the movie. The concessions were always packed. Took 45 min to get popcorn before the movie and could not get anything during the movie because the lines were always across the entire lobby. We checked 3x's. I would never go here again. One of the only Imax theaters in the region, but it is digital. Still, it was worth seeing Oppenheimer on a better screen than the average multiplex. If you want film in Imax, though, you'll have to go to Toronto. The staff was friendly and courteous although I think they may be facing the same staff shortages everyone else is. We all know how expensive it is to go to the movies. That is why I gave it 4 stars. I know money and extra expense is more of a major issue with a lot of other people. So if that holds you back from going, it is understandable. All of us who regularly go to the movie theaters know there is no home system that compares to going to the movies. I have a crazy home system with 13 speakers, a crazy sound system that up converts signals to 8K, and a very large 8k TV. I still love the large screen theater experience at a level that can't be reproduced at home. The assigned seating is and IMAX is great. 4DX (not all movies benefit from this technology and they should be more upfront with this) is great at the Gallaria Mall. Have fun! read more

They don't have the reclining seats in the theaters I've been in but honestly once the movie starts you forget about all those upgrades from the other theaters. Decent theater, could stand be modernized. I like that it's generally clean, ample parking, decent service, and easy to buy tickets. That said, it could use some improvements. First, the popcorn, which is basically the reason to go to the movies, could be better. Sometimes it's good, other times it's stale and full of unpopped kernels or tiny crushed popcorn bits (like they scraped the bottom of the bin). Nice that they give free refills on large popcorn and drinks, though. The seats are alright, though not the most comfy. I do prefer the reclining seats that they have at AMC. But it would be a substantial investment to change the seats and would limit the amount of tickets able to be sold per theater so I don't expect them to change that. Our kid likes to play the games in the lobby, but the selection is dismal and that area could use an overhaul. Last time we played air hockey, the puck wouldn't release after scoring each goal, so we had to get the manager 2-3 times to finish 1 game. The tiny little arcade room has barely any selection. They could renovate that and add games to make it less sad. We usually go to the standard theater screenings. The last time I went to an iMax movie, i regretted not having earplugs. It was a kids' movie and I'm sure it was way over the decibel level that risks hearing damage. I recommend ear protection, especially if you take young kids. I improvised and shoved wadded-up napkins in my ears last time - that is not ideal! Overall, decent theater, prices in line with industry standard, and iMax available if you don't mind it being super-loud. read more

I usually go to the Regal in the Galleria mall (because of the reclining seats!), but went to this Regal today because the movie we wanted to watch sold out. This Regal is darker (lighting) than other Regals and the cleanliness level is okay. It's an older Regal, so it's expected that the seats are older, reclining/non-reclining, with less space between the seats. I enjoy the reclining seats, but the screen for the movie we watched had non-reclining seats. (I think if it's a more popular movie, they show it in the reclining seats+bigger screen). The restrooms here were pretty gross, and the hallways weren't that clean, so my overall experience compared to Regal Galleria was disappointing. They DO have a Tuesday deal, so if you're looking to watch a movie that's not as popular and that's been out for a while, this Regal isn't too bad of an option. read more

I want to tell you the full story of what I did on Saturday night in the back row of the movies here, but there would be Regal issues if I did, and I don't want Rawyers involved, so we'll reave it at that. This is my local theatre and I go here all the time. The prices are a little high for my taste, and one of the security guards is a jerk to me and many others, so it stays as a 4. But most of the employees are perfectly friendly. One of them even said to me (a couple of years ago), did I like the the movie? It was ok, I said. Oh, ok, because some thought it was disappointing and he was going to say it was okay for me to go into another movie if I wanted. It's clean and spacious and fairly large and is never too busy, with much more respectful movie-watchers (it seems) than the one at the Galleria. This place is awesome. I love this IMAX. I've been to a few and this one is awesome. The screen is HUGE! And the sound is really loud! Which I like. I went to see the Last Jedi in 3D IMAX there and it literally felt like I was in the movie. It was awesome. If you've never been to an IMAX, you NEED to go to one! I mostly only go to IMAX for like action movies, because an animated or something like that you can see at a regular theater. I bought my tickets through Fandango about 3 weeks ago for the movie The Photograph featuring Issa Rae. (My Pregnant friend Paige came with me, she's due in 6 weeks.) We ordered food, 6 chicken fingers and fries$11.79. Paige got Nachos and cheese $7.00. Paige's order came as a small Tostitos bag of nachos and Luke warm melted cheese. For $7.00!?! Highway robbery.! We get to our seats and I swear we are in 1987 outdated chairs, these don't recline?!? We both work in a prison and looked forward to kicking up our feet and hopefully not doze off like we usually do. No chance this time! This is my least favourite movie theater in the Buffalo area, hands down. Why? because it's 2018 and the theater I was in last night didn't have reclining seats. This would not be a huge deal if every single other Regal, AMC, and even the cheap Dipson theater in Orchard Park didn't have them, but they do. You don't realize how uncomfortable the basic, close together, if people sit in front of you the movie now has a giant head in the screen seats are until this is the only theater left that has them. I see roughly 2-3 movies a week and I would much rather go to a theater where I will be comfortable then one where I'm staring at someones head half the time. On the bright side! the lobby here is massive, it has arcade games, and the same extremely overpriced pop, popcorn, and snacks people seem to love about movie theaters. If you have the chance to go to the Walden Galleria, the AMC in Amherst, or the Elmwood Regal I would definitely recommend it so you have some room to be comfortable, but hey, if you just want a basic chair and a film, this place will do the job. read more

I was extremely dissappointed in the IMAX theater. Every regal in the area has transitioned into reclining seats except for the IMAX. For the amount of money you pay to see it on the HUGE screen, you think it would be a more comfortable experience but you practically have to fight for arm space with your neighbor. Not to mention, the bathrooms are light-years away from the IMAX so make sure to go before or after the movie. If you go in between you are surely going to miss something. As for the rest of the building, it's lost its glamor. There is nothing that makes this theater special. The food is incredibly expensive and everything is microwaved. Well we attended the screening of GREASE for their 40th anniversary. My niece bought the tickets ahead of time, just in case. But it was easy and we sat together front and back as there were 7 of us. It was great that the theatre showed this viewing. Seats were comfortable and theatre was clean. Only reason for 4 stars, was when an employee interrupted us as we were singing during the movie as the whole movie theatre as singing and told us to be quiet and it was reported that we were drinking by other patrons and we were loud and obnoxious. OK maybe being loud during the singing parts, but the other accusations were upsetting. Yes there was a group of ladies that was drinking and were enjoying the show, but it wasn't us. I believe some people took offense to us singing but the majority of the patrons were singing and enjoying the movie. Our group was just upset that we were picked out as the trouble makers. Will I come back? yes, but not to a showing like this. I took offense to a 16 year old accusing me that our group was drinking when the other group on the other side of the theatre were drinking and dropping flasks throughout the movie. If you were going to reprimand someone, it should be the correct group of people. Enough said. Maybe check bags to for flasks. read more

Mostly because I'm cursed with my family's trait of falling asleep during them, if only for a moment I inevitability end up missing a crucial moment. So annoying! This time I had that outsmarted. I went during the day! I was surprised that the parking lot was packed but come to find out they have church services there. Cool! Already had the tickets Fandango'd so off to get a bucket of popcorn and two $5 waters....$20 bucks later we made our way in, found our favorite seats and settled in. Now there are no comfy seats meaning I didn't get to recline but I also didn't fall asleep, so I think that was to my benefit. My only complaint was the movie started playing and they didn't turn the house lights off being that this was a scary movie it really ruined the first few minutes.
