What I like about Regal is that they show all the big movies when they first come out with lots of movie times and all the formats (Standard, IMAX, 3D, RPX, etc). What I don't like about Regal is that they will only do that for a week. For example, I really wanted to see Project Hail Mary on IMAX and it was sold out for days! The following week, it was only shown on Standard. They also show foreign films. What I like about Regal is that you can choose the seats you purchase. What I don't like about Regal is that unless you end up in a theater with reclining seat, the standard seats are uncomfortable. They are soft and cushiony but they barely recline. So either position is not the best. My back hurt after watching a 3-hour movie. What I like about Regal is they have a lot of food concession lines! They've got popcorn, hot dog, nachos, pretzels, candy, drinks... get your food and get to your seat. Usually the people who work there are good and do their best. I also appreciate that they don't do the whole order from your seat business. I hate people talking in their regular voice volume and people walking in front of the screen so the whole movie experience is like watching a movie at home. Thank you, Regal for not being The Lot. 2 Stars - Extremely frustrating refund and customer service experience I normally don't go out of my way to leave negative reviews, but this was one of the more frustrating customer service experiences I've had at a movie theater. I purchased two tickets for the IMAX 70mm showing of The Odyssey at Regal Hacienda Crossings. These were purchased directly from a kiosk at the theater. The tickets were difficult to get, and when my plans changed, I returned the following day to request a refund. That's when the problems started. I spoke with two supervisors(Carlos and Giovanni) who attempted to help me with the refund but apparently could not process it through their system. I was told that an email would have to be sent upstairs requesting the refund. I waited approximately 30 minutes in the lobby while this was being handled, and I was ultimately told that I would receive my refund within 48-72 hours. A week went by with no refund and no communication. I ended up returning to the theater again a week later and spoke with the assistant manager(Cruz). He went upstairs to look into the situation and came back a few minutes later saying that he couldn't find the original email, order information, or any record of the refund request. I was told that the employee who originally helped me may have simply forgotten to follow up. The assistant manager was actually helpful and did apologize. He offered me complimentary passes as compensation for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. However, I still hadn't received the refund for the tickets I had purchased. I then contacted Regal Customer Relations. Unfortunately, it took more than a week to even receive a response. After explaining the situation again, Customer Relations ultimately offered me a Regal e-gift card, which is the full value of the two tickets. I accepted it, although I originally requested that the money be returned to my original form of payment. So, to be fair, the situation was eventually resolved and both the assistant manager and Customer Relations did make efforts to compensate me. However, getting to that resolution was an unnecessarily long and frustrating process. I had to: * Return to the theater multiple times * Wait approximately 30 minutes while staff tried to resolve the refund * Be told my refund would arrive within 48-72 hours * Wait a full week with no refund or communication * Make another trip to the theater * Contact Customer Relations myself * Wait more than a week for a response For something as simple as returning two tickets purchased directly from Regal, this should not have been this difficult. My biggest issue isn't that the theater ultimately refused to help. It's the lack of communication, the apparent failure to follow through on the original refund request, and the amount of time and effort I had to spend getting someone to actually resolve the issue. I rarely visit this location, and unfortunately this experience has made me hesitant to return anytime soon. I hope Regal improves the refund process for kiosk purchases and, more importantly, makes sure that when management tells a customer that something will be taken care of, it actually gets followed through. read more

This theater has so much potential. I came to watch Spider-Man on August 6th. Just before the best part of the movie... The whole theater lost power. We were told to exit to the front and get a refund there. It was so chaotic as the whole theater was just standing there. After about 10 minutes of no updates, I made the decision to leave because I had to leave for work in 30 minutes. 2 stars for the attempt to get everyone a refund but it could've been done more professionally and smoothly. We drove from Oakland to see a matinee screening of The Odyssey on 70mm IMAX. We had preordered tickets in advance and were excited to see the film in this format. When we arrived to the theater and the employee scanned our ticket, he said that the "ticket had been refunded" and that there had been some sort of glitch with the website. We found out from a manager that the website had listed two IMAX screenings of the film at conflicting times and our screening was the unlucky one that was cancelled. Then we were pushed off to the side so they could take other people's tickets. Finally we were able to speak with a manager, who refunded the refreshments I preordered online. While I'm glad that we got that money back, I was disappointed with the customer service experience. The employees we interacted with were either helpless or indifferent and the manager barely interacted with us other than to look at the details in our phone. Once the refund was processed, he just turned to other employees to chat. We received nothing but a minimal "we're sorry but it was rescheduled", no apologies for the inconvenience caused, or offers to make it right or encourage us to return. (Even an offer of helping us reschedule to the soonest available screening would have been appreciated.) We found this whole experience to be frustrating and disappointing. The only notice the theater sent was an automated message stating the ticket had been refunded with no additional context or reason for the refund. The email could easily be missed or filtered for this reason. (My wife had just ordered tickets for a different movie that had been refunded so we didn't notice that there were two refund emails until we arrived to the theater.) The icing on the cake was that the automated refund did not include the $4/ticket service fee we were charged to prebook. Management refunded that for us when we pressed, but the fact we had to ask was unacceptable. It should have been included when the theater cancelled the screening. Given that this film is one of the most popular/anticipated movies of the summer -- one that hundreds of customers paid over $20 per ticket in advance to attend -- I find it somewhat appalling that Regal could not be bothered to send customers an email explaining what was going on and offering to make it right. It's alarming that a glitch of this scale happened to begin with, as this error seems to have occurred for multiple scheduled screenings based on other Yelp reviews. Because of this incident, we will not be returning to Regal theaters to see movies. I don't fault the individual employees for the incident - it's clearly something that happened on the corporate level, but the customer experience we received was lackluster, and I felt that employees could have been better debriefed/prepped by management for how to handle this situation, since it clearly impacted hundreds of customers. We planned in advance and booked tickets ahead of schedule so we could see this film in comfortable seats, but now screenings of this film are sold out for the next week unless we want to crane our necks in the front row. read more

They also offer recliner seats for select screens, and good variety of snacks and drinks. I definitely recommend this theater if you are in the Dublin/Pleasanton area. The bay is fortunate to have 2 imax 70mm capable theaters, but this is absolutely the one to go to. The Metreon feels so dated in comparison. The screen and projector were well maintained with little to no dimming across the screen. The sound system was fantastic. IMAX is a little on the louder side, but it was very balanced. It's a slightly smaller theater compared to the Metreon, but I definitely preferred it. The AC was blowing nice and cool too which can be an issue in a packed theater. Definitely will be coming back for future 70mm screenings. Worth the drive from Vallejo. read more

This cinema is going through some transformation in making it a great place for family or friends to come together and watch a movie. The cinema was well maintained and kept clean. That's important. Saw quite a few films here in the past as it was one of the closest movie theaters near me at the time when I still lived in California. What I liked about this theater was its size and design. There are so many movies you can watch here in IMAX or 2d or any kind you want. Best of all is how big each theater is inside the building. There are always plenty of seats and since its never too busy, it's overall easy to find parking now these days. The last movie I saw here was Avatar Way of Water in 2023 with my brother and we ended up getting the full 4d IMAX edition which was fun and enjoyable. Had comfy seats, the special effects like water being splashed on us, the seats moving like a roller coaster during certain scenes, and all the other awesome effects that made the movie a joy to watch. However, the reason I am giving the theater a 3/5 stars is because it can be a pain to navigate the kiosk used to purchase tickets. In the past they used to do it where you would speak to someone behind the glass and they'd give you the tickets. Now it's changed to where you just use a kiosk and purchase the tickets yourself which can be a bit of a hassle because of how confusing it is to navigate the kiosk. Another reason for the bad rating is because the floors tended to feel a bit dirty at times and sticky when walking around. In the end, it's still a good theater to visit and it has a bar and plenty of drinks or food to choose from if you want to go here to hang out with friends. read more

Popcorn was good. Only wish the butter didn't taste like palm oil. It had a bit of coconut taste. It was our first time here and we watched Avatar in 4DX. It was a fun ride with a sprits od water. "The Odyssey" buyers beware. The only fully capable 70mm IMAX auditorium at this location is number 21. This is -not- made clear in the online ticketing experience. It is partiuclarly easy to end up with tickets for one of the standard or RDX aditoriums--as we did--while you search the seating charts for decent seats across the run of the movie's engagment at that venue; the seating charts -are not- labeled as 'standard' or 'IMAX' as you browse. We had tix for auditorium 10, (purchased 10 days ago) which, it turns out, is stadium seating, but not full IMAX. Trying to call the theatre repeatedly over the last week to speak to a live person to find out if we had the right tix was an exercise in frustration as we navigated their voicemail prompts to "talk to someone at the theatre" only to be dropped instead of connected. Claude.AI finally came to the rescue, unearthing the actual auditorium number for the full IMAX experience. Which of course is completely booked at this point. This amounts to bait-and-switch behavior on the part of Regal. Yes, I did cancel my tix, but I'm still out the non-refundable "handling charges" fee. Needless to say, I will not be patronizing this chain of theatres in future. read more

Regal Hacienda in Dublin. Many years ago, I had a tradition of taking myself to this movie theater once a month for movie night. Back then $20 was plenty to cover a movie ticket and snacks. Oh how times have changed. In recent years, this Regal theater has undergone quite the remodel. The interior is completely different now, with dark, sparkly walls and floors, kind of a space-y motif. It looks pretty nice, you can tell they invested a lot into the remodel. The box office is gone, which makes me sad, but that unfortunately is common at many theaters now. The incremental replacement of human beings and human jobs with machines. Whatever could go wrong? We will find out, I'm afraid. It's a sizable theater, they have 20 screens I believe. They put in all new seating, and the new red chairs look nice, but aren't that comfortable. They only partially recline, and you have to keep your weight pressed against the back or the seat springs back into an upright position. There are also no trays, which would be really good to have. They need to turn up the volume on the screens. The concession area is large and well-staffed. They offer all kinds of snacks and candies which are a nutritional abomination, but oh so tasty and fun to indulge in on a movie date. Massive parking areas around the theater, but because the plaza is home to many businesses, parking does fill up, especially on weekend nights, so give yourself extra time for parking, and be careful walking through that huge lot if you're alone. It's generally a pretty safe area, but be aware. Speaking of other businesses in the plaza, there are several good restaurants to pop into before or after your movie: Market Tavern, Tequila Bar & Grill, and Lazy Dog are all good. Lazy Dog is open the latest if you're seeing a late show. All in all, a pretty nice theater, one of our usuals in the East Bay when we're in the mood for a movie. read more

I'm very upset and disappointed in Regal. I woke up this morning to an automated email sent informing me that my tickets for the Saturday 10:30 AM IMAX showing of The Odyssey were being refunded. I immediately attempted to contact the theatre for clarification, but the phone number listed leads to an automated menu with no option to reach a live person. When I was finally transferred to the Dublin location, the call dropped. I planned ahead and purchased these tickets early to secure seats that worked for my best friend and I. We do not live locally, and live several hours apart. I chose Regal Dublin so that my friend -- that I never get to see -- could meet up in the middle of our zip codes. Now, with the cancellation, there are no acceptable seats left for any nearby IMAX showings. This is the one day for the next 6 months my best friend and I can meet up. I expect a better from Regal. A refund hardly feels like a enough in this situation. read more

This cinema really needs work. I bought two tickets to Moana live action and used "express checkout" by paying with Apple Pay. After purchasing my two tickets I received a QR code. I just left the QR code on my safari tab and made sure not to close out of it until I get to the theatre and can show them my ticket. Since it's express checkout it did not ask for an email or phone number or anything. I go back to the tab and it says "session timed out". Obviously I cannot retrieve my tickets as they never asked me for any of my information. I would have screenshotted the QR code or maybe looked for an option to add it to my wallet if I knew. I tried to call the hacienda crossings location with the number provided on both Yelp and Google. When you call, they give you a two minute promotional talk on why you should buy crown+ or whatever it's called.. I do not want to buy that. I'm just trying to get my tickets. I followed the directions of the automated voice telling me to enter my zip code and press numbers. The last direction is to press one to get transferred to hacienda crossings.. I press one. It just hangs up on me. I tried THREE more times and it does the same thing every time. This is incredibly annoying. I will just have to ask when I'm there and have to show them my purchase history. From other reviews I can confirm that this has happened to other people and the website gives people issues all the time. Made a return trip to experience the new Jurassic movie in real 3D. We normally see movies here at Regal in either 4Dx or ScreenX, but today we just went for 3D. The only thing I dislike about some Regal theaters is there stadium seating. The seats are red and clean however- they do not recline and there's no foot rest. It seems like the movie theaters that have 4Dx or D-Box formatting don't have comfortable seating otherwise. The women's bathroom by theaters 1-5 was quite dirty. The handicap stall's toilet had overflowed, and there was water on the floor. One stall was out of order, and the rest of the stalls had seat covers but no toilet paper. The sink area was dirty with someone's long hair, wet seat covers because there were no paper towels on the counters The concession stand was well stocked, and the customer service was good as well. When do they open their Boba and coffee kiosks that are on your left? I have never seen them open. They do have a full bar and the bartender is amazing. Currently they offer three Jurassic inspired alcoholic beverages. Overall, I like Regal Cinemas and the amenities that they offer- their cleanliness just needs a little work. read more

I love when a theater location has plenty of parking! I prefer buying tickets ahead of time; it saves the hassle of using the kiosks, and I already have my seats picked out. No fuss, no muss. When we arrived, I had my QR code ready from my email, and getting scanned in was quick and easy. We used the restroom when we got there (no line, which was nice) but they were running low on paper towels. It was funny because the concession line was almost nonexistent as we came in, but by the time we headed over, it had gotten really long. That said, the employee who helped us was quick and efficient, and even recommended a combo that fit what we wanted. The auditorium itself felt a bit dated, I do wish they had upgraded to those recliner-style seats. After the movie, my partner noticed a spill on the floor and pointed it out to two employees walking by. Unfortunately, they either didn't hear us or chose to ignore it, which was a bit disappointing. We stopped by the restrooms again before leaving. This time, my stall was low on toilet paper, and in the men's restroom, the urinals weren't working, leaving only two stalls available. So, since the pandemic, Hacienda Crossings has tried to reinvent itself. Remodeled the theater into better seating, added a bar, a juice/tea/coffee place, along with one of the few places in the world holding a 4DX theater. I believe they also added a small arcade which is fun if all the machines are actually working. What drives their ratings down is the ticket prices. In the last year, the ticket prices have risen where a 4DX ticket is now around $30+ a person. To put it into perspective, a family of four is over a 3 figure entertainment investment. Fun, but only worth visiting once or twice a year if that (there are cheaper theaters around Contra Costa. That being stated? Superman in 4DX was still amazing! read more

watched the odyssey here in 4dx and it was both my first time here at regal as well as my first 4dx movie so that was quite an experience LOL the movie theater outside is cool to look at since it's so big and has so many lights. the interior is fun as well. i haven't seen any other movies here so idk how the other theaters inside are but if you're planning to watch a water, action, fighting, or any movie really, def watch it in 4dx. odyssey was 3 hours long and the seats were decently comfy and u cannot fall asleep lol read more

Recently I had occasion to see a couple of movies at the Regal Hacienda Crossings while killing some time between meetings in the area. I found it a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The ticketing was fast and accurate online, the check-in smooth, the concession for my hot dog purchase also smooth (when I tried to get a alcoholic beverage the worker seemed to to not have it together yet, leaving people standing ahead of me while he chased down something elsewhere. As I was running a bit late I chose to skip the margarita. When I found that I had time left for a second movie, the staff guided me through my fussy cell app, and later when I left an item at the counter, they got it back to me promptly. I was a bit disappointed when I found the seats didn't recline much (certainly not as much as the Galaxy in Riverbank, where I usually view films). I give them a solid 4 out of 5. read more

Honestly it is very pricey here but definitely worth your money for once in a while. They have an arcade area, ice cream shop, a bar for the adults, and merchandise to purchase all over. You can take different pictures since they have a lot of different pop up posters all over. I definitely recommend catching a movie here once in a blue moon. read more

Way back in the day going to the movies was a thing. You know, dinner and a movie and cocktails after and prolly before. It was a nice time out. Greeted at the ticket counter behind the glass and get your paper ticket. People were polite. After hitting the snack bar and sneaking in dranks, getting your ticket torn, and away you go. Well nowadays you belly up to a kiosk for your ticket or just show somebody your phone and move to the concession stand and to the bar through a mix of out of control rando teenagers. Also, not sure when going out for a nice evening included pajamas and fluffy slippers. Yes, I'm talking to you young ladies. I was a teenager once, my partner still thinks I haven't matured but I wasn't ferral like they are today. Back to the bar. No need to bring your own. 2 drinks max at a time and everyone needs to be there when ordering. This place is nice but the allure of the movies in the past is missing. Of the changes: The seats are nicer but they don't really recline easily or very far and you sort of have to keep the pressure on the back. Okay, I like the fact they now have bar drinks to wash down the over-priced popcorn. That's a great new addition. One of the nicer aspect of this theater is the number of nice restaurants to frequent before and after the movie all within walking distance. Tequila Bar & Grill, Market Street Tavern, and Lazy Dog all right there. Parking is all over but shared with all the restaurants. It's nice but thats about it. Nothing over the top. read more

Our go to spot to watch movies. They renovated during Covid so the theaters are very new. Seats are comfortable and they do have reclining available. They also offer 4dx for certain movies - this is where seats move during action scenes and/or have effects such as slight smoke to make the experience more real. We did this for a fighter jet movie and it was really fun! Snack options are standard, wish they would have some gluten free choices. They do have a boba shop, coffee shop, and bar, but if they are busy on the concession side, they won't have those open. Facilities are usually clean and lots of parking since it is part of a larger shopping complex. Will keep coming back! read more

Came here last night for the first time ever to watch Princess Mononoke in 4K IMAX (which actually, I don't think I've ever seen a movie in 4K Imax before?) and was pleasantly surprised by this whole boujee theater! Pros: - NOT your regular movie theater (I'm used to like Bayfair in San Leandro LOL), there's a bar in the lobby of the theater, butter dispensers for popcorn, and lounging couches outside the individual theater rooms. - the imax 4k was AMAZING - especially for a Miyazaki film. definitely worth the $25 for the experience LOL it is LOUD but the musical and artist experience was so fun - Large parking lot with a lot of spots on weekdays - All the staff were very professional and nice - Super clean and modern aesthetic Cons: - I kind of wish the imax theater had reclining seats since you're paying a lot, but thankfully we chose a row that had the rail in front so I could put my feet on it. They only recline a few inches and they don't stay there, so you would have to maintain yourself in the position with your own muscles haha read more

I watched Nosferatu at this theater last week and had a positive experience that had me jumping in my seat. A clean and modern look and feel, lounge seating at entry, a bar with movie-themed cocktail specials on one side, a smoothie bar on the other side, and the concessions stand at the center of the lobby with ample choices for snacks and drinks on the menu, like candy, nachos, and pizza. The wait to order was a bit long (the day after xmas), but the employees were working hard, keeping things moving. The hot dog was small but delicious, and the cheetos popcorn was unique and addicting, every bite of popcorn so cheesy and the crunchy cheetos mixed in nicely... it was so good, I took it home after the movie to snack on later. The temperature in the auditorium was comfortable and warm enough in winter, and the seats were updated and modern-looking in a bright red color, but they weren't lounger seats, in fact they reclined a little (by force) but would easily slip back into upright position, so it felt a bit stiff at times. But it didn't ruin the overall experience. The inviting setting at this theater, along with sufficient service from staff, allowed for an enjoyable time. read more

The problem was that I lost the gift card and didn't not try to retrieve it by anyway means and he was so ref so we paid the full amount. There was no help I'm happy to pay the money. I have no problem it just the way they handle it at the customer service so poor. Plenty of parking for a weekend afternoon. It can get busy at prime time. The nachos and hamburger was actually quite good, for theatre food. Service could be faster, I saw that they tried to be as fast as possible. Tickets counter was not slow, could be faster too. Many people were working, they could have worked more diligently. This theater is great! I enjoy every visit here with my son. The service is good and the Manager Haley is polite and professional. We are always greeted with a smile as my son is special needs and we require a companion pass which she gladly accommodates our request. From the IMAX to the other theaters the seating and views are top notch. The seats are very comfortable and the recliners are a sleep trap. Went to the movies yesterday for the first time in quite a bit. Went to F1 in IMAX, fantastic movie, but were kinda confused as the IMAX theater in theater 20 seems not as special or amazing as theater 21. Definitely don't think theater 20 is the 70mm and if that's the case that's frustrating since that's what we were expecting, but please tell me if I'm wrong and theater 21 and 20 are the same quality, sound, size, etc.. **3.5** Something happened since the last time I came here...was it last year? I hardly come to this location bc it always felt dirty to me. Restrooms were always not the greatest condition either. Floors sticky. Trash overflowing. Came here over the weekend to watch Thunder Bolt in IMAX. Wow. The inside theatre was clean, seats were not sticky nor were the floors. Restrooms were well maintained. A lady that is on top of it inside with stocked paperware, cleaned toilets, no nothing on the floors. Sinks dried. Concession stands were well stocked and organized. Hot food came out timely. Popcorn was warm and not piping hot but overall impressed with quick efficiency. It's too bad the boba and lavazza coffee were not opened. I remember the boba last time was the worst I've ever had. Like brown water. Hoping the revamp that area with other goodies. read more
