Updated: The Customer Service was exemplary and willingness to refund for the inconvenience was very easy. Keeping the stars at 2 because the movie should never have been projected with these glaring issues in the first place. (Also was not fully refunded for service fees via Fandango). VERY DISAPPOINTED in how dark / contrast of a film that was shot beautifully ... Sinners ... but could not enjoy because the contrast was toooooo dark. The projectionist needs to understand how to make proper adjustments so that a movie that's shot mostly in the dark, does not swallow up the scenes and almost all Black characters so that it is most times too difficult to distinguish facial expressions and nuance! ... while I was here I'd asked to have the contrast adjusted so I could try and enjoy what was left while I was there ... management said that they'd go try and make an adjustment ... I had a couple of free tickets and we decided to go there for the first time. The theater isn't that big it was very clean and the service was great when we ordered our popcorn. We saw Housemaid which was a very good movie. I would definitely go back there to watch another movie. I also liked that the seats reclined and they also heated up. read more

Watched Late Night with the Devil on a Saturday evening, a unique and entertaining thriller, and enjoyed the movie and experience. Fandango was giving me an error online, so I pre-purchased tickets off the Cinemark website with no problems. If you buy your tickets off the Cinemark website, you can preorder snacks to be delivered to your seats at the Hayward theater. No luxury recliners in the auditoriums, but the seats do rock back quite a bit, and are comfy enough. And even if they're not updated, at least they're clean. Everything about the theater was pretty standard, but sufficient. The lobby was simple and clean with a few tables and seating, typical offerings at the concessions stand, decent sound and picture quality for movie viewing, and minimal interaction with staff necessary (no problems with the ticket taker). Parking is easy in the surrounding free parking lots and garages with entrances on B Street and/or Foothill Blvd (closer to C Street). read more

Havent been here in a while. Thester was clean and the associates were nice and very attentive. Bathrooms were clean. Everything was in stock as far as snacks. The only thing that needs improving is maybe power wash the outside by trash compactor! Very dirty amd you can see the trail of where the trash goes. read more

Everytime my daughter and I go here everyone is so friendly. We are always greeted from purchasing tickets,concession stand and ticket taker. When the movies over and the clean up crew holds the door open for you. They also asks how did you enjoy the movie? The ticket person always says have a good day. My 19 year old always says. Either they have been trained by the movie manager, very well or they have great parents. Maybe both awesome when a teen congrats. the movie teens. We adore this theater. 2022 After the Pandemic July Review : This was my husband and I's first time out in the theater since the pandemic closed all the theaters. Overall it was a nice experience. Let me break it down for you. We ordered tickets for Thor on the online app. And then our favorite part you could order your snacks and drinks ahead of time in the theater. My other favorite part? If you have an Apple Watch you can skip getting your physical wallet or phone out and scan your movie tickets right on your watch. You have to add your movie ticket from within the Cinemark App to your watch. And you can have your food delivered right to you in the theater. This was a $2 delivery service fee. The way it works is that when you scan your ticket, they are alerted that you are there and then find the seat you are sitting in. Drinks are in a separate bag and so is the popcorn you order. With 20% Movie Club discount - A tub of popcorn plus 2 medium drinks were about $14ish before the $2 delivery fee to our seats. No biggie. Then in the middle of the movie I was craving a Pizza Hut pizza. After movie club discount on concessions and food, the 9 inch 4 slice pepperoni pizza was $9.20 Decent price. Wheelchair accessibility for my husband was great and I had a companion seat right next to him. Seats still are outdated and need a remodel for more comfortable seats. Staff were friendly and everything though and it was a smooth experience altogether since 2020 shutdown a lot of our luxuries we had enjoyed before but now that we're vaxxed and boosted we're ready to go to the movies again. It's convenient, but it's not the safest or cleanest, in or outside. The staff isn't necessarily the nicest either, so if asking them questions isn't necessary, don't. It's better to just buy tickets and sit down. Often other patrons in the theater aren't considerate of other movie goers either. Reserved seats may or may not have other customers in them, who have inconsiderately decided to NOT sit in their purchased seat. Other patrons have been unruly, rudely, kicking the backs of chairs, running through another aisle filled with other customers, disturbing their visit, rather than walking through the aisle they're sitting in. There have been a few times where another movie goer has either spilled their beverage on me or spitted on me, Im not really sure, either way it was rude, inconsiderate & kinda gross. Another time, one movie goer yelled/shouted directly above my head and he wasn't even sitting directly above me, but two seats over to my left & one row above, so he had to purposefully lean over to yell above my head. After Shut down was lifted and ppl were slowly returning to activities, and movie theaters had opened back up ~ there were signs claiming that the theaters were cleaned after every showing, but I found a pile of candy wrappers in the cup holder of my reserved seat ~ obviously the ppl who cleaned that theater, weren't very thorough. :( The doors leading to the outside aren't very safe, as there are plenty of bushes and just areas, like behind the doors for thieves to hide and jump someone. The trash is way out of control. Trash overflowing, or all over the ground, way too many trash bins for one area ALL overflowing with trash, even that walk way is not safe. Its hard to not go to this theater b/c of its lack of proper safety & how rude & inconsiderate a lot of their customers can be & have been. Even the front patio area is not so pleasant to walk through at times, it's good that ticket buying is inside where its safe and other ppl are watching or can help if something happens. But its convenience is what makes it easy to go. So maybe, watch a movie during daylight hours rather than at night, don't park in the structure, but across the street and don't exit via a side door, even with a friend. It's just not as safe as it could be, there are some transients that hang out/live in both the structure, front areas and in the CVs parking lot. There are also those who smoke Pot in the surrounding areas who are not considerate of those who don't, so sometimes weed can be smelled throughout the structure & open parking. Not so family friendly. Some drivers use the structure like their own private speedway, even outside the structure in the alley closest to the theaters cars will speed by & not slow down. All the parking in the area (the structure & parking by CVs) is free, which is nice. Tuesdays are bargain nights, but those nights are really crowded. read more

Hands down, the tiniest movie theater I have ever stepped foot in. This particular Century Theater is located in Downtown Hayward. I liked the fact that it isn't overly crowded and noisy like other locations. The customer service from employees that I had encountered were very friendly. Restrooms looked a bit dingy but for the most part were clean. The so-so aspect of this theater is the sad little concession stand offering a sad selection of snacks and goodies. Opt for purchasing items before hand and just sneaking those bad boys in. The movie seating could use a little bit of freshening up and the floors seem stickier than the norm. Three stars for the theater itself and one added star for the variety of eateries that are walking distance. I'd come back without thinking twice.... read more

Great place not crowded, covered parking, great service, clean theaters. Hayward really cleaned up its downtown. This is a great hidden gem theater with many good businesses around. In my younger days, we would avoid places like downtown Hayward because of the crime and gangs. Now it is much much nicer. Hayward really cleaned up. The theater here is not crowded, and they keep it clean. Restrooms are well stocked and generally clean. Snack bar is built in an odd shape, if they did a quick study on the flow of people, they might change the layout for smoother throughput of movie goers, but it's okay. Popcorn bucket has one free refill, so use it wisely. One bucket plus refill served 4 adults and 6 small kids well. read more

I was watching Aladdin last week in one of the smaller theaters. There was one empty row behind me and next row (the top row) was filled with a bunch of little preteens. They were talking, yelling and arguing during the entire movie. They were even taking photos of with flash. Luckily the movie was really loud so I could still hear everything. They were walking around the back row and dropping things on the floor. People would look up at them and they'd shush each other. It was magic carpet scene and they were arguing and yelling once again. It was the last straw. I walked out and informed the ticket taker. He promptly called a manager and I returned to my movie. A manager showed up right away and walked up to them to tell them off. She then watched them from the bottom of the stairs. Within 5 minutes they all left the theater. TL DR: thank you to the staff for acting so fast. I'm happy that the theater takes action against idiots that ruin movies. read more

I thought I had this place reviewed, but I guess not! It's in Downtown Hayward, which has improved a lot in the last 10 years. It was a bit more rundown before that. With that being said, this is a pretty small theater and the parking complex can get full during peak hours, so be prepared to park elsewhere. Still, it's a pretty comfy theater and does the job right. I truly hope theaters don't go away as we live in an age of streaming, and things are pointing in that direction even further. I love Century theatres but this by far is the worst one I have been to. I purchased tickets online as I am a movie club member which I was thankful for as the line was very long and they only had one person selling tickets. Once inside we went to the concessions area to get popcorn and there was only one person working who was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow. When it got to us we told him no butter on the popcorn and he filled it half way and then turned to put butter in it. We told him no butter and he said oh shit I forgot. Then they only had one person ringing people up, which to me was poor scheduling as Frozen 2 opened this weekend. Once inside we found our seats and froze our butts off as I think they turned up the AC to make everyone think they were with Elsa and Anna :-) Lastly, when leaving, the line to the bathroom was out door as they had 7 bathroom stalls that were out of order. 12/28/15 7:40 PM I HATE crowds, lines, and craziness. I'm not the type who goes to see a blockbuster movie the first week it opens...but c'mon..STAR WARS, yo! I HAD to see it NOW!!!! Since my trustworthy babysitters are in Hayward we decided to see the movie at Century Theaters. I love how there are many new restaurants next to the theatre, I wish I didn't eat dinner beforehand. Things I noticed on my first visit here: 1. Short wait at the ticket booth! There was only one person ahead of us. 2. Not crowded! It was a perfect amount of people in the theatre. There was actually a seat between me and this dude I didn't want to have to sit next to. 3. Respectful crowd! No one was on their cell phones, no one was talking loudly, no one was rude. It was surprisingly quiet during the whole movie! Hooray for no ghettoness! I hope it's like this all the time! The only thing that bothered me was that the floors were dirty, they obviously haven't vacuumed in a while. But it's no biggie, it's nothing compared to the mess my 2-year old and I make at home. Ok decent theater. This place is smaller than the one in Union City but it's cleaner and less crowded. They have a parking garage but can be full due to the store around there. One time, they closed the women's bathroom and made us go to the cafe next door; long line too since it's only one stall. They only had one location for the women's bathroom in the theater? After multiple visits i think they deserve a review. It is a mid sized theater compared to its sister locations. Showing the major head liners you will get the signature Century experience. The only difference is that this location does not offer the super screen/audio experience. I personally like this location and think its a great place as long as the staff can keep it tidy and continue good service. Just like the previous reviews, this place has untrained staff. Although they are nice, they don't know anything about the app, the Movie Fan Club membership, rewards, points, gift cards. They don't know how to use the scanner to scan the QR code to earn points and use a gift card (they also didn't even know they had a scanner). If you use any of these, you shouldn't go to this theater as you will miss out on your membership benefits which you pay $10 a month for. read more

No complaints here. Especially since I use my MoviePass and I don't have to pay some crazy prize to see a film. I like the fact that there's tons of food spots nearby. They don't let you bring it in. I had to play my brown bag off by saying it was leftovers haha! It was Mexican food from next door shsshh! The ice cream spot a few doors down is also cute. Parking is free in the lot behind the theater. They don't have reclining chairs, as far as I know. I don't recall seeing a bar either. Ok, have a good time! This theater been open for so long now, but I'm just now watching a movie here. Can park in garage in be back or plenty of public parking across the street. Originally wanted to go to the new Century theater at Southland but the time we wanted to see the movie, all seats were reserved. Anyways the have starbucks, popcorn, candy, soda and Icees, the usual. U can grab a meal atfer the theatre cus there are plenty of restuarants in the surrounding area on B Street. The theatre we were in was pretty clean and seats reclined back a bit. Clean bathrooms also a plus, but I did come for an early screening time so not mang patrons in and out yet. Free parking everywhere. It sucks to have to pay for parking when going to a movie. There is a kiosk outside if the line is too long and that can be a huge time saver. This is a great movie theatre placed in a perfect spot in downtown. It's older so the seats don't recline like the new ones but they are cozy enough. Also it's never packed which is a huge plus. You can get the entire movie theatre to yourself at times which is a win to me. I enjoy coming here and my kids do too. read more
