Recliner chairs! Thats what i love in these place. Very clean and smells nice too! Better park at the side of the building close to planet fitness especially if you are catching the last full show. The good thing on this parking area they are lots of vacant space! For me, i download their app and bought the ticket and snacks which is very convenient and the good part is you can accumulate points! Thats awesome!

There are two Century Theatres in the city of Hayward, and this one is located at Southland Mall. Entrance to the cinema is a little tricky. After you enter the mall, you need to take the escalators down to the lower level where the food court is, in order to access the theater lobby which is very basic and a little bare. Just a few small tables with seating, and a concessions stand that is different than most other theaters, pretty much everything behind the order counter. We came by for the matinee showing of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice this past Sunday, and the place wasn't busy, no waits, no problems. The place was clean, hardly any interaction with staff necessary since our ticket purchase was made online in advance, and the seats in the auditoriums were comfortable and in excellent condition (they don't extend far out, but I still appreciate this theater offering luxury recliners). Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was a wacky and entertaining sequel, and this theater provided a satisfactory movie-going experience on our recent visit.

Come here to watch king fu panda in theaters. We decided to try something new and get the seats that move when there's motion playing in the movie! I absolutely loved it! Felt like you were on a roller coaster! This is my favorite movie theater and I'd always choose this movie theater over any others. My bf loves going to the union city one for some reason but this is my go-to theater.

Still one of my favorite theaters. The popcorn is finger-licking good. The location is clean and every theater has heated reclining seats.

Friday matinee -- whole theatre to ourselves!

Haven't been to the theatre in ages and since they've opened up, thought we'd see what it's like these days. Here's the main tips: come on a weekday at the earliest matinee -- not only is it discounted, but you get almost the entire theatre to yourself, and the best choice of seats! Plus it greatly reduces your covid exposure since no one is around you. Is that a win-win-win? Since we were saving our appetites for a late lunch, we only got a small popcorn and small icee to share. Wild cherry flavor icee was perfect and I think the value of the small sizes are actually good! Mediums are the worst value probably. Best part about this theatre are the seats -- all of them are loungers!!! Ahhh so relaxing and enjoyable with the nice extra space, big arm rests, legs up and soft cushions. Can't beat that. Gonna have to skip school and come back again for another weekday early matinee lol!

I like this theatre because it is a small intimate space. The seats recline and are heated.Your order can be delivered to your seat. It's usually pretty clean. My only issue is the slushy machine often has issues. Staff are always friendly. The air conditioner is not turned up to polar ice freeze.

Plush Ricardo Automatic Lazy Chairs! Heated too! WOW

Cushy seats for your tushy! Reclines and heats up with a push of a button! Reserve seatings! Kiosks stalls to purch tix! The entrance to the theater is through the mall's food court. Nice strategy to get foot traffic through the door but will it work to save our dying retail malls? Let's hope so. 1-star reduction because one of the brand new seats in the theater was not working. We had to get 4 staff members over to brainiact the problem only to discover that it was not plugged properly. Doh! Otherwise, let's hope that all seats are plugged in moving forward! Enjoy the show, folks!

I was watching movie this afternoon and lost my phone in the theater. Reported to the manager, Gabe. He found my phone for me!!! I was so grateful!!! Thank you, Manager Gabe! See you again soon!! By the way, it's a great theater. Very clean and great staff!!!

Small but mighty theater at Southland Mall! Went to see In the Heights and they were open, clean, and pretty empty. Matinee pricing made the seats, even in luxury recliners, very reasonably priced. Seats recline and have heaters! Good popcorn and the typical movie theater snacks/candy. Service was great! Hope even post-COVID, theaters clean their seats and disinfect between showings.

The Chabot Theater has been around for 75 years. With only 1 movie screen, it has been visited by long-time residents and newcomers who share a passion for film and reasonable pricing. They may not have reserved seating or the best state of the art surround sound systems, but that's what makes it unique and what a 1990-2000s movie theater used to be like. Also, they feature local commercials, bands/music, and upcoming events before the movie starts, which is great to see the support for the community! One of the best things about this theater is that you can purchase tickets for 1/2 the price every Tuesday! As of August 2025, 1/2 priced tickets will be $6/each (Regular: $12), which is a steal these days and especially when you can watch some of the biggest blockbuster films! Keep in mind, if you are a child or senior, regular pricing is $10 (still a bargain!), but Tuesday pricing will remain $6/each. You can purchase both tickets and concessions together in the lobby, which makes the process simple and smooth. Parking is relatively easy - no dedicated parking lot, just the street so adhere to the posted signage. Most street parking is 2 hour limit, but if you're okay taking a short walk, find some side or cross streets to extend the limit especially if you're catching a film that's longer than 2 hours. If you're looking for a place to host an event, watch party, or birthday, they do that here (pricing on website). If you're looking for something fun to do during the week nights, they host trivia nights (free for everyone), family movie nights (tickets required), and karaoke nights (free for everyone) too! This theater is truly a gem, one that I hope remains a staple within the CV community, providing a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.

There is always someone who is nice and happy you're there working and it makes you really feel like you're back to where you grew up. I always buy food/drink to help support. The ticket prices are the cheapest around (especially on half off tuesdays) and they even give free popcorn after the last showing lets out if they have any left! The seats in the lower half are probably the original seats (which makes it more nostalgic for me) and probably aren't the most comfortable but the upper half has been renovated with tables and chairs so if you want to eat actual food you can do so comfortably! They also host an array of events so there is always something going on!

We drove from Oakland to see a matinee screening of The Odyssey on 70mm IMAX. We had preordered…read moretickets in advance and were excited to see the film in this format. When we arrived to the theater and the employee scanned our ticket, he said that the "ticket had been refunded" and that there had been some sort of glitch with the website. We found out from a manager that the website had listed two IMAX screenings of the film at conflicting times and our screening was the unlucky one that was cancelled. Then we were pushed off to the side so they could take other people's tickets. Finally we were able to speak with a manager, who refunded the refreshments I preordered online. While I'm glad that we got that money back, I was disappointed with the customer service experience. The employees we interacted with were either helpless or indifferent and the manager barely interacted with us other than to look at the details in our phone. Once the refund was processed, he just turned to other employees to chat. We received nothing but a minimal "we're sorry but it was rescheduled", no apologies for the inconvenience caused, or offers to make it right or encourage us to return. (Even an offer of helping us reschedule to the soonest available screening would have been appreciated.) We found this whole experience to be frustrating and disappointing. The only notice the theater sent was an automated message stating the ticket had been refunded with no additional context or reason for the refund. The email could easily be missed or filtered for this reason. (My wife had just ordered tickets for a different movie that had been refunded so we didn't notice that there were two refund emails until we arrived to the theater.) The icing on the cake was that the automated refund did not include the $4/ticket service fee we were charged to prebook. Management refunded that for us when we pressed, but the fact we had to ask was unacceptable. It should have been included when the theater cancelled the screening. Given that this film is one of the most popular/anticipated movies of the summer -- one that hundreds of customers paid over $20 per ticket in advance to attend -- I find it somewhat appalling that Regal could not be bothered to send customers an email explaining what was going on and offering to make it right. It's alarming that a glitch of this scale happened to begin with, as this error seems to have occurred for multiple scheduled screenings based on other Yelp reviews. Because of this incident, we will not be returning to Regal theaters to see movies. I don't fault the individual employees for the incident - it's clearly something that happened on the corporate level, but the customer experience we received was lackluster, and I felt that employees could have been better debriefed/prepped by management for how to handle this situation, since it clearly impacted hundreds of customers. We planned in advance and booked tickets ahead of schedule so we could see this film in comfortable seats, but now screenings of this film are sold out for the next week unless we want to crane our necks in the front row.

The interior features beautiful Art Deco décor, which gives the theater a unique charm. One feature I appreciate is that you can order dinner from the restaurant next door. I haven't tried the food myself--and probably never will--but I like having the option. Ticket prices are fair, and parking is plentiful. There's a cheap and safe parking garage next door as well as plenty of street parking. Since it's located right off Park Street, there are numerous highly rated restaurants in close proximity, including Burma Superstar, Tucker's, etc. I usually grab dinner or a snack on Park Street before strolling over to the theater. I highly recommend visiting this theater instead of a large chain theater surrounded by the same predictable chain restaurants. It offers a much more charming and local experience. On a side note - I watched Moana in 3D last night and it was the best movie I've seen in a while. I'm very critical of film, never rating anything above a 6, but this was easily 10/10.
