This is THE movie theater on the NE side. The theaters are always clean, the concession lines move, the management is great. They have new hot foods like burgers and fries, chicken nuggets, stuff like that. And of course, all the coke you can handle. Sometimes I purchase tickets online, at Fandango, and it works great especially when the lines are super long. Just be aware that there is a convenience fee, he'll, nothing's free. If it's the weekend, there is a Buffalo Wild Wings, Bikini's, and Texas Roadhouse in the same parking lot, and Hooligans, a local bar. What am I saying? If you can't have fun out here, check your pulse. read more

The management at Regal Cinemas really needs to re-think the way they handle the lines here. When you pull up you're immediately frustrated because you see four lines from the door to the parking lot and it's only because of the set up. Do some re-arranging, add some staff at peak hours (and opening days for kiddie movies during the summer) and things will flow more smoothly! Also, have another way for people that opted to pre-purchase/print their tickets to enter the theatre instead of having to elbow/punch/maneuver through the angry crowd of people who are still waiting to purchase tickets. Oh, the glares :-) Other than that, it's your typical teenage hangout spot, great options at the concessions and it wasn't that pricey too me. My god-daughter and niece both racked up candy, popcorn, slurpees, whatever and I don't think I spent over $25. I was budgeting $40! read more

People were ready to fist fight in the theater! Regal liveoak recently implemented assigned seating. They did not bother to have a monitor available to resolve disputes or ask those on their cellphones to put them away or leave. Several people in the theater were at the point of fist fighting and speaking loudly while the movie was starting over seating. Others said no one told them about assigned seating. They have police in the lobby but as none of the employees were there to call an officer, no one came that I could see. The seating policy was poorly handled. The staff at the concession stand moves at a snails pace. This is usual to their pace. Otherwise, nice ambiance. Wide variety of food and wine selection. Tickets same as everywhere else. read more

Movie theater was awesome back in the day (15 years ago) now, not so much. The reason is simple. They either forgot about this place or just don't care about it as much. This place needs a makeover and a better cleaning crew. The screens aren't as clear as other theaters and sometimes, you can hear the other movies next to you. One thing I love is watching movies in the theater. Its also one thing I rarely make time for. So when offered the chance to go see Hangover 2, I jumped at it. Now, we ordered our tickets several hours ahead of time and arrived to the theater an hour early in anticipation of the types of crowds that might be there (and bc two showings had already sold out by the time we purchased our tix). Parking can hard to come by on busy nights. Their lot is huge and seems to go on and on forever (maybe I'm exaggerating but once we were faced with a 10 minute walk to and from our vehicle, I had to agree with a couple other reviewers on that one!) and while some people in our party had to actually park in the lots of nearby restaurants, one was able to catch a spot in the front row as someone was leaving. With so many screens at this theater, no wonder they fill up so fast! Inside service is great. Everything is clean and runs smoothly which is always a plus. They have a lobby full of games. I gave my little cousin $5 bc he assured me he'd win a pack of free movie tix from one. When he didn't he jokingly tells me "Man, you just wasted five bucks!" haha! But it was a nice way to pass the time while we were waiting for the show to start. Inside the theater, seats are comfy and the arm rests move up and down which presumably makes cuddling up on a date easier. I'm presuming this not bc I was on a date but rather because the two teenagers beside me were making the most of it. Uh hum. Full host of jumbo-sized snacks at the bar that are severely overpriced, as most movie theaters will be. The movie and seats were great however the theater was hot and we asked 5 times and it never got better

We went to see Wonder Woman for the 10 am showing on Father's Day and were very disappointed. The theatre was really hot and air was not on. My husband had to go ask for the air to be turned on and it did not come on until half way through the film. Another issue was the lighting which was hardly dimmed and thus causing blind spots on the screen. My husband, again, had to get up to address the issue and was rudely addressed and was told "if you don't like it you can leave". I went to get a popcorn refill and couldn't find anyone behind the counter which took extra time. Lastly, the thumb size cockroach that my husband saw at the side of the isle was the topping on the 'I will never return cake'. Which I wish I would have seen before asked for more popcorn. Went in today to watch Jurassic World. Arrived and bought our tickets and went straight to the concession stand. We had to get our popcorn on ASAP if you know what I mean and I think you do. We were greeted by the nicest movie snack procurer that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We asked Brandon to layer the butter on our large popcorn and he hooked us up. Our popcorn was a buttery dream. Brandon went above and beyond by cutting our popcorn in thirds instead of just adding butter to the middle. Probably the best butter popcorn tub I have ever eaten. And she used my discount for only me, not my wife, when I bought both tickets. Then the dude at the concession stand doesn't give my wife candy and gives her this unnecessarily huge straw. To be honest this is where we have gone for most of our family flicks for the past 3 years. The ticket prices are high for the 3D or the 3D RPX we are usually able to find a deal on atom tickets or through our T-Mobile Tuesdays. We have never really gotten great outstanding service here. And just recently decided to go to the Rialto Theater after we came in to see War of the Planet of the Apes at this Live Oak Theater in 3D and were informed that they could sell us the tickets but the AC was not working and it was 95 degrees in the theater. Um Really!! Then we asked are we able to get a discount on seeing another movie since the one we want to see has no AC. Reply from attendant "nope". We bought tickets to another movie but as we were standing in line for the concessions quickly decided to get a refund and try out the Rialto since we really wanted to see War of the Planet of the Apes. We waited for 10 minutes for the manager to show up to give us a refund . He didn't ask why we wanted a refund and didn't say sorry for any inconvenience. Swipe their card said refund will be on there and turned and walked away . Once we arrived at the rialto and saw our movie we will probably never come back to the live oak Theater. We had amazing customer service from Rialto from start to finish you can read our review of that if you wish. The management here should really train their staff better on customer service, and if you inconvenience a customer when they want to buy your product you should make it up to them if they decide to stay and select the product they didn't even want. read more

I like this theater because it is close to my place, takes MoviePass, and I slid in my movie real quick... only downside is the stupid long line for concessions. On a Saturday night, I couldn't believe they didn't have that stand fully staffed. After waiting a while, I just left. Make sure your staffing is up to par. But other than that, I have no other complaints. read more

This movie theater is not the greatest, but nice for what it is. The only thing I really gave to complain about is the staff. I came in on a Friday mid day they where not busy at all. This theater is practically the only (decent) theater on the Northeast side of SA. So, there will always be a ton of people here. This includes many children and teenagers after 4 PM and on the weekends. The best time to go is from 11 AM- 4 PM on a weekday. (Keeping in mind that traffic on 1604 and 35 begins at 4.) The screens are pretty small compared to other theaters I've been too, and the seats ALWAYS seem damp. I don't know why, but they're always uncomfortably moist until you forget about it. (All seats in all rooms.) Furthermore, the floors are never properly swept/ mopped so DO NOT put your purse on the ground. The lines are not handled well. I'm not sure if this is an under-staffing issue on the theater's part of what, but expect to be outside of the building until you are roughly 5th from the register. This theater does have midnight premieres for larger movie franchises, and has gotten better at accommodating patrons to the best of their ability. (Roping off a section of the hall outside the theater's room, and having people sit on the ground until 15 minutes till the start of the movie.) All in all, decent theater. read more

This movie theater is perfect if you want absolutely nothing from the concession stand. During the first preview, I went to go get popcorn and a drink. Hoping to not miss any of the movie, I counted exactly seven people in line before me, most of them being a family and several couples. This seven person line took at least 45 minutes to finally get to me and once I was there, it was clear why. The whole staff was moving so unbearably slow, it took 6 minutes (at this point I'm counting) just to get my medium drink and large popcorn, and after all this they have the nerve to charge me $20. I also missed the first half hour of the movie. I will never go back, and I recommend the reader does the same. read more

The movie theater closest to where I live besides Rialto which is its own problem. I dread my parents wanting to go to this theater. Long ticket lines, long lines for concession, torn/sticky seats in all 18 theater rooms except for the RPX room, low staff on duty, bad 3D projections. The concession lines take 10 to 15 minutes even if there only 2 people ahead of you. The staff is generally nice can't complain there. The last time my family went we saw mad max and the projection had issues showing 3D it was fixed but it was an inconvenience for about 10 minutes. When I go to theaters I usually look for the seats I like to sit in for the best view I can get but at this theater I look for the most decent looking seats. read more

This is my go-to theater. I live between this location and the Northwoods location at 1604 and 281 and prefer this theater hands down. There is a some-times running fountain in the front of the theater that when it's on, is really cool. My favorite thing about this location is the lack of teeny-boppers waiting for their parents to pick them up. It's usually pretty clean and there are tons of bathrooms so there is always one right next to your particular theater so you don't have to miss too much of the movie. The proximity to the Forum is cool, too, and you can definitely find somewhere to eat nearby. If you get a free Regal card you get all sorts of freebies, too. I have gotten free small popcorns, free sodas, even free movies. read more

Worst theater I've ever visited and I hit the movies at least 3 times a month. We Just moved to the area from Miami and I thought we were probably a bit spoiled. Nope. We pulled up and thought "oh wow! Nice looking spot". Then We saw the 3 long lines and wondered why. Well, They have the worst box office set up in the world. I don't know who designed it, but they should be fired. The box office sits behind a convexed wall of glass with only 2 entrances at the east and west ends. This causes a bottle neck of people trying to get to the counter. The lines were all the way to the curb. I thought I'd be smart and just buy from the automated machines. Um, nope! One was broken and the OTHER... as in the second one... as in there are only TWO machines. 2! That's some Mickey Mouse stuff there. For a place that shows first run flicks and has 18 screens, that just STUPID. You basically have to arrive 30 minutes earlier than you normally would at any other spot. When we finally to theater 7.... the seats were gross. Stained, ripped, more stains. We basically sat in the lesser stained seats we could find. Not going back. We'll travel the extra miles to find another theater. read more

I just tried to take my grandson to see a movie that was rated R I accompanied him to the ticket counter and made it clear that I gave him permission to see the movie. But unless I paid for a ticket they would not let him in., I should be able to allow as I see fit what he sees. I will not be going to Regal theaters in the future read more

Worse cinema experience ever!!! Stood outside for tickets for 20 minutes because they only had one ticket person. Then another 35 minutes waiting for concessions, which only had 3 lines open. Let me tell you, they do NOT reinforce the 'No Talking' or 'No Cell Phone Usage' policy in this place. During the week this place is fine but opening night on weekends is a movie goer's nightmare. I just saw the Purge: Election Year and I couldn't begin to tell you how many scenes I missed because the mass of people in the theater were blatantly commentating and talking. I'm all for people reacting to what's going on in the movie but the continuos talking was deafening out the movie. And the amount of cell phone screens I saw were of 8 or more scattered throughout the theater. Also witnessed a middle finger posted in front of the projector for a second toward the end of the movie which obviously came from the staff in the projector room. Classy, Live Oak. This place is a free for all. People can obviously do what they want here. I'm never coming back to this place on the weekends. read more

What a horrible movie experience. The movie was fantastic. What wasn't appreciated was the person behind me kicking my seat for two hours. Or the phone that went off during the film. I called the theater and spoke to Gilbert the manager. What a joke. How is he a manager? After telling them what a horrible time I had, I was told if I go back, I can get free movie tickets. I don't want to go back. EVER. How would free tickets help anything? I asked for a refund and was told they can only do it the day the ticket was bought. So no refund for a crap time. A nice, clean theater, with tickets at a wide range of prices. Live Oak Cinema has several types of theaters capable of projecting films with varying levels of video and sound equipment. The screens are large and very large, depending on the theater, and the seating is comfortable and has decent legroom (compared to most other theaters). This theater has false advertisement all over the video screens and food menus. Last night, my kids and I watched the screens rotate through their various menus, because only three stations were open, even though the lines were VERY long (they have 7 stations that could be open, but NEVER are). Then we finally ordered the combo meal that was being advertised, which was sandwich, fries, & drink... for around $7.99... But, when the total came up, I was charged $13.99 for everything. When I questioned how this happened, I was told that it was because the drinks weren't in the menu pricing (even though ALL pictures showed the combo with drinks, and listed everything). The employee then tells me that she isn't surprised, because everyone says the same thing. When the manager came over, he said they deal with this use all of the time but the company owners won't change the menu pricing because they know no one would buy such an expensive meal... I am warning you that you will be taken advantage of at this theater. They KNOWINGLY & WILLINGLY mislead their customers. read more

We went to this theater on a weeknight after Christmas. It was busier than I expected, but I did not think I would have to wait 20 minutes to buy a ticket and an additional 20 minutes to get a soda. There were two young kids working the front and the lines were out the doors. They frequently had to call the managers (who knew ticket sales were so complicated?) but the managers seemed to pretend not to notice the lines. They would address the issue and then leave. The concession stand was also out of almost every non-candy food item. Overall this was a pretty terrible movie experience, and I definitely won't be going back to this theater. read more

When you pull up into the parking lot of this movie theater, you'll notice the cute architecture of the building. We came here for an 11PM movie, so there was barely anyone here. We also ordered our tickets online on Fandango.com, and yes, there's a convenience fee but that's normal. I can't note on people's reviews of the horrible line set up, but judging by a glance and using creativity, it does seem rather terrible. If you get your tickets outside, you would have to cut the line to get through, which seems rather rude and ridiculous. Two machines is also two too less, they need more. The staff seemed polite and happy except for the ones cleaning out the theater. We got there 30 mins early, and didn't get into the theater until ~15 minutes before the movie. The doors were OPEN, there was nothing blocking the doors, and there were no signs saying "Cleaning theater", but we went in and they were cleaning, the lady yelled at us and said "You need to go back outside". So we did, and waited, and waited. We couldn't tell when we were actually allowed back inside. We watched people go in, and get turned back around as well. Finally, after coming back in from some fresh air, we decided to go see if we could safely get seats since it was, at this point, less then 15 minutes til the movie actually started. Thankfully, we could. The movie theater was LARGE. By far the largest theater I've actually been in. I was prepared for a disgusting theater, having read some other reviews here, but the #9 hall was pristine, outside of the floor which I doubt they EVER mop. The seats were clean, not ripped, not sticky and comfy. We didn't get any food from the concessions, so I can't comment on prices or quality of food/service, sorry! read more

Well, if you're out on the NE side, this is really your only theatre choice. And a fairly basic choice it is. You can always guarantee that the new, major blockbuster will be playing here on many screens. As others mentioned, the parking lot is humongous, yet parking can still be tricky on weekend evenings. We mostly try to come for matinees during the week with all the senior citizens. A personal pet peeve of mine is poorly behaved children in movie theaters, so rather than get cranky, I just try to avoid the situation. The concession stand is super over-priced, but alas, all are. The popcorn is standard. I decided to splurge and get the mozzarella sticks last time and was unsurprisingly disappointed. The marinara sauce tasted like feet. Blarg. I do love the cuddling-conducive seating with the lifting arm rests. Especially since the theaters are kept at arctic temperatures, and I always forget a sweater. Thankfully, the husband makes a good substitute. Overall, if you live over in the NE-Schertz-Cibolo zone, this theater is fine. But I wouldn't make a special trip up here, if the movie you want to see is playing closer to your home. read more

Great food and atmosphere! They should add something to the menu for people like me (healthy choice). Possibly fruit and cottage cheese or peanut butter, or even a small salad!
