I used to love seeing movies here but this Spring break was terrible and not because of kids but because of grown adults who would not stop talking during the movie and then their phone kept ringing. I asked so many times to please stop talking and please put their phones on vibrate but nothing helped. My kids were quieter than these people. Sad because it truly ruined my movie experience. We visited on 7/28/19 for the 11 am matinee showing of the Lion King. Matinee pricing was extortionate. For 2 adults and 1 child, (Nearly $13 for each adult and nearly $12 for child PLUS taxes and fees. Seniors would have gotten a whopping $.28 discount, but hey, every little helps, right?) I already feel like I live in California. We don't mind paying if the experience measures up, but the seats are narrow, don't recline and armrests don't go up, which makes it harder for kid snuggles. There was a moldy, damp smell in the air as well. We won't be back. For the same pricing, we can go to a swanky theatre in Austin with a full bar, with blankets and pillows provided. read more

I have to piggy back on what most are saying about the odd "line" setup. The theater itself is very nice and cleaner than most other theaters. We went on a Sunday and the popcorn was stale, but on Friday and Saturday it is usually fresh. Theater offers a military discount, with the exception of opening weekend on some movies. I hate this theater. The concession line is so slow. The line to get tickets is a mile long. They have no sense of urgency or desire to get you into the theater. You have to fight your way past the ticket booth if you buy your tickets ahead of time. read more

Worse experience ever!! Came to watch a late night movie with the kids and after we bought our tickets, bought our concession snacks, and sat in our seats. While the credits were rolling the manager comes to tell us we have to leave cause my 2yr old can't be in the theatre. I told her will we be getting our full refund. She said yes. Took all concessions and threw it all away. Then after that she asks if there's another movie we would rather see. No Thank You done with this place. Waited in line for 20 minutes to buy tickets. Got to the ticket counter only to find out the show was sold out. No sign or stickers anywhere on the showtimes to tell the customers which showtimes were sold out and which ones weren't, even as I got to the counter, so instead it was just wasted time. Understanding how theaters work as I was once a theater manager, I inquired to see if there happened to be seats in the front, seeing as the show had already started and my my kids and I wouldn't mind siting close to the screen. I was told very rudely that there were seats but they weren't willing to sell them to me. Wouldn't mind the "no" so much if it wasn't done in a rude condescending manner by the employees. I remember being a manager and our motto was "complete and total Customer satisfaction", meaning we did everything we could to make sure that customer left our theater with a great experience. I really expected good customer service, however sadly I was disappointed. I am Military, so I think my kids and I will stick to the theater on base from now on. read more

I walked into the theatre and the woman who was on the cashier was very attentive, made eye contact, nice, respectful, welcomed me in the area. I normally have no problems with this theater but we went to the Gallows during a week night and it was last showing. However I am to assume since it was last showing the staff didn't fell the need to clean the theater we were in. All of us had to sit on one half of the theater becuz popcorn was spilt all over the floor and drinks from previous were still there. Very disappointed. read more

This is hands down my favorite theater in San Antonio. The kiddie crowd seems to be under control for the most part, the prices are decent, and the seats are comfy. It doesn't hurt that it's in the back yard of Texas Roadhouse, so dinner and a movie go hand in hand. This ijplace is a great laid back date night waiting to happen :) read more

Went here Friday night as a last minute kind of thing trying to waste some time.. and loved it! Great theater, no lines, clean bathrooms, comfortable seats that let you see well from anywhere in the theater. Much nicer than many of the theaters in Houston. The theater itself is beautiful, and the chairs are comfy. The bathrooms are small which is weird since the place is so huge, meaning it takes forever to get through the line. The line to get tickets was so long and we did not even attempt to tackle the concessions line. You must devote a good 30-45 min just to get the tickets, snacks, potty, and finally get seated! I wish the process was speedier, but still a great theater. Also, bring a jacket it gets cold. read more

It's a good movie theater. Used to come here when I was in high school. Always liked this theater. Haven't had any problems other than the usual lines. Glad they're open on Thanksgiving. While everyone is doing the day before Black Friday shopping, we can enjoy a movie. read more

Live Oak has been open for a while now, but I still would trust my kids seeing a movie at this theater before any other in the area. It's starting to show its wear and tear, but overall the staff is friendly and polite, which is rare for high school kids. The seats are comfy, but they could stand to upgrade to the newer plush seating that's taking over other Regal cinemas. Still, it's a great place to take the kids on a hot summer day or to spend some cozy time in the winter. read more

Building itself is nice but customer service is horrible at concession stand. More than likely because they are so busy and takes about 20 minutes to buy something. Unlike other theaters you have to make sure you know what auditorium your movie is in because the signs have numbers only, no movie titles. Also, you don't have a way of knowing whether you can go into the theater or if they still need to clean since they don't have those ribbons and nobody is around to help. The theater wasn't clean at all. Popcorn, chips, food were all over the chair, on the floor. The food doesn't taste that good. Restroom seems not clean and you can smell it till the hallway. Why you have to pay the same amount of money to spent here while other movie theaters are much better. like the one in downtown called AMC River center. They are awesome. Check them out. read more

Easily the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat in! I definitely would recommend people going to the Amc where you have recliners and can actually be comfortable. The movie was good but what's a movie while sitting on something that feels like bricks! Soooo uncomfortable!!!! read more

Nice movies theater. Plenty of seats and the view of the movie is good. Concession prices are the same as any other movie. Bathrooms were clean and neat. If you want good seats on a movie premiere night then come early to get parking and get good seats in the theater. I really like this theater! It's nice and the seats are comfy. They have added a ton of stuff at the concession stand like Oreo churros, corn dog, ect. We went to a 11:40 showing on a Saturday and it was perfect! Not a lot of people do it was enjoyable. As soon as the movie was over the cleaning crew came in like a bunch of soldiers and had that place clean in no time. We will be coming back! read more

POOR MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND POOR SERVICE! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! I always go to this theater since it's so close to my home. Though it's true their floors are CONSTANTLY sticky, it can be overlooked. But today I have never been so disgusted with this theater that I will never spend a penny there again. Tuesday I purchased tickets for myself and friends, since I always bring a min of 2 others with me at all times, to see a showing through fandango for the theater. On the way I received news my mother was in the hospital. 2 days later was the first chance I had to call the theater for a refund since I was unable to see the show. A box office associate told me the policy for a money refund is to call the same day but how could I when my mother is in the ER? So I asked for a manager to clarify. This ignorant, non-sympathetic man named Jerry came on the phone. He got on with a attitude to begin with and told me the same thing. THE POLICY I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH. It's the fact that this man said, "If you buy tickets for a major concert and miss the show, they won't refund you. That's how this business is. That's how it works. That's entertainment business. Most people know that." Could he be more condescending? When I told him that was unprofessional to say, his reaction was "well that's how it is". When I mentioned there are exceptions like worrying with my family about my mother in the hospital keeping me from calling the theater his comment was, "Sorry for you that's the policy." He had such attitude and no solutions. The box office attendant at least suggested that they can give me passes instead. But this "manager" who was rude and had the WORST ATTITUDE, showing no people skills and no sense of empathy is the one reason I will never return. I'll be going to Santikos now. read more

Great theater. Clean. Loud spectacular sound. RPX was very nice. Yummy Popcorn. Employees that enjoy their job and pleasant to deal with. I usually go to the movies during the week or matinees to avoid the crowds. I have seen this place on a crowded day and turned around and went elsewhere. This theater is always clean, has plenty of bathrooms and very friendly staff. Recently I've been to three theaters on the north east side of San Antonio. Embassy Oaks (281 & Bitters) is gross with ONE bathroom for the entire theater (!!), Northwoods was filthy and smelled. ALL theaters have overpriced concessions because that is literally the only thing they earn money on as the margins on the movie is cut so close. Some of these reviews are stupid, find the manager or leave and demand a refund if you are so insulted by some of the issues listed here. Management will refund your money if you are unhappy about the conditions you say you are bothered by. read more

Tried to watch a grown up themed movie with my wife, theater was full of talking children. When we brought up the issue to management was told there was nothing that could be done about the issue. Horrible experience today. There was a group of about 4 teenage girls with one female parent watching the same movie as us that talked throughout the entire movie. I asked them to please be quiet and was met with attitude from the mother. When this was brought to managements attention, I was told there was nothing that could be done about it. Really?? As many other reviewers have said, I've got to this theater for several years, but have preferred Alamo Drafthouse lately. So I was shocked when we came tonight and found NO ONE in line (it's a Saturday night). Glad to get in quickly, all of us noticed our feet stuck to the floor in the lobby. Ewww. When we walked into the theater, there was a sign that said the A/C was out. Yay. And then we sat down. The seats are filthy and the arm rests were disgusting and to top it all off, the sound quality was static filled. Never again. Concessions are entirely to slow and popcorn has been stale a few times. It's best to preorder tickets online or you'll be waiting in line for awhile. Restrooms need regular cleaning, ALOT of traffic, and are nasty all to frequently. read more

Opening weekend of Hotel Transylvania 2 with a three year old...the visual on the movie went out three separate times for several minutes each time to a packed auditorium. No one from management ever came to explain. The audio continued, so we missed what was going on. People started leaving after first occurence of several minutes. After third time, the theater emptied. Try to explain that to a three year old. Never again! read more

It was my husband and i's fist date out in months. We were very excited to go see Central Intelligence last night. We wanted to choose a different Theater we have never been to before so unfortunately chose this one. It was a long like and we waited about 15 minutes to get our tickets because there was only one person selling the tickets on a Sunday. Then we proceeded to the snack stand to get popcorn and a drink. I was leaning against the counter while my husband was beside me paying and our popcorn and drinks were sitting in the counter. I felt something crawling on my face thinking it must have been a fly and instantly brushed it off my face, to see seconds later an adult size roach crawl across the countertop rite next to our food! I was in discussed but I am not one to complain. After paying and get our items we went to the theater our movie was showing in and there was a couple in front of the door that told us they were still cleaning because they see the trash cans and cleaning supplies in there. I looked at the time and it was 12 minutes before the movie starts. I know from experience because I am always early for movies so I can get a good seat that you can usually go in 45 minutes before a movie starts. So 10 minutes goes by and still the employees cleaning have not came out so my husband and I decide to go in. We walk in, there is still popcorn all over the floor and there is one teenage boy cleaning that big theater by himself!! He looked up while sweeping and told us that it wasn't ready for us to come in yet so we went back out. We ended up sitting down 5 minutes after the movie (previews) started. I know it was just the previews but we enjoy seeing the new movies that are coming out. Not only that this place should have been ready. And why are the leaving a young boy to do this all of this on his own and expect it done by the time the movie starts!?!? I would not recommend going here to anyone! We are movie people and we like to try new places but we will not come back to this theater! read more

Do not visit this theater it's awful. I had to stand outside in the cold! It's 40 degrees in San Antonio which is rare but we are not used to being outside in cold weather. I had to stand outside with a large group of elderly women because the security guard moved the rope partition to keep people outside waiting to buy tickets instead off inside where it's warm. When you question his decision he turns and pays birds hand in the large gun here wears on his side. Basically letting you know he's in charge because he has the big gun. I only gave the theater 1 star because the movie was good. The theater itself was awful in their lack of customer service skills. When we finished the movie I stopped to tell the manager, Scott, about our awful experience getting into the box office he looked at me like I was a moron for complaining. He refused to acknowledge the problem and said he'd been there 15 years and its chaos if they arrange the ropes any other way. He could care less what I had to say and made it clear that was how he felt. He never apologized for the inconvenience or for how his armed guard acted. My husband and I were so frustrated with his attitude, lack of empathy, and rude manner we just left. You should not go to this theater on a cold day or you'll freeze your butt off waiting outside to buy a ticket while their thug stands inside touching his gun. The popcorn was awful too! read more

I have going to this theater since it opened and on a number of occasions we have seen mice in the theaters. Yeah mice!!! On both sides of the place and always at the top row. It's disgusting especially when you have your legs down and sometimes have your purse on the floor next to you. The last time i was there was yesterday and we saw one and got our money back. when we told the manager he didnt even seem surprised or give two s***s about it. I dont know that i will go here anymore after that. read more
