4DX is not only a rip off but it's arguably dangerous. Be aware that there is no safety/instructional notice prior to the start of the most violent moving going experience you will ever have the misfortune of taking part in. The lack of any forewarning that your about to be thrashed around lead to me being drenched by my overpriced beer (while it was in the cup holder) before the movie even started. After 2+ hours of inconsistent thrashing I left the theater truly astonished by the fact that I didn't end up with whiplash. Some of the major safety concerns that You should be aware of include: - No emergency stop function (this is especially concerning due to the inclusion of foot rests that move with entire sections of the seating. This means it is entirely possible to be literally tossed into the air while attempting to get out of your seat during any action sequence) - No information is shared with the audience regarding how to safely exit the theater during the viewing. (good luck if you get motion sick or need to pee) - No safety belt/harness (I'm not joking when I say there were multiple times when my date and I were nearly thrown from our chairs due to the excessive force implemented) In all seriousness, I have no idea if Regal/movie theaters are subject to the same safety standards of amusement parks/arcades but if they are, I would be shocked if the 4DX theaters passed basic safety testing. I've had more mundane experiences riding actual rollercoasters. I would not be surprised to learn that serious injuries have occurred due to what can only be described as gross negligence. read more

I love the people here always great to come early and people watching! I enjoy coming and checking out the pre views, go to the restroom, get my "needs" of a snack and then sitting down in the reclining seats! Besides the selfies in the beginning we were very excited nervous and not sure how this whole experience was going to be! We arrive pretty early and then it was time, glasses on, strapped in a comfy seat and all the sense came on so you could get a feel of how it was going to be! I'm not going to spoil it, but air, rain, lightening, water, smell, and more happened through the whole movie and OMG it was great! After going to the movies and seeing the 4D we booked mark the link to view the movies each week and finally found one. It was a perfect movie to see! I was very excited we did it! With lots of free movie tickets from Boeing to spend, this is the closest Regal location to me. Was pleasantly surprised when we were seated in the "recliner" lounge seats for Wonder Woman. What ever you do, DO NOT go see a 4DX movie and expect to have a good time. Shaking seats spilled 80% of my drink within the first 90 sec, annoying puffs of air shooting into my ears throughout, unable to consume my concessions for fear of being chucked out of my chair and high powered fans cutting on and off throughout (even during slow/quiet scenes). Maybe I'm not the target audience for this $27/per person experience, but I assumed no mater how 'xtreme' the 4-d aspect was, it would still be enjoyable (or even tolerable). Wrong. Also, don't get the pepperoni pizza. Was basically a giant water cracker with ketchup and heartburn inducing pepperoni (which is great when your seat is throwing you in all directions for 2 hours). read more

So disappointed that we watched Avatar here. Seat is alright but there is barely any gap between the screen and the first row seats. We sat on the third row, thinking we'll get a good view, but it was terrible (mind you there was probably around 5-6 rows). We had to pretty much recline our chairs to the point that we're almost laying flat down so we can look up at the screen. It was so uncomfortable to have to be looking up like that to watch a 3 hours movie! I would recommend watching elsewhere. read more

Great movie theater, however, the architecture and layout is a little bit weird. The theater that we were at was furnished with recliner chairs, and I'm assuming it's true about all of their theaters. My only complaint is that the restrooms are very far to most of the theaters, especially on the top floor, something you want to have in mind if you have to take a break in the middle of a movie. read more

10/15/15: took the kiddies to watch Pan as the weather was nice on Thursday. Nice theater with great movies located in the heart of downtown Seattle. Not all floors have concessions, so make sure you know where you are going and where you can get a drink. Auditorium #1 was clean and comfortable with no trash on the floor or sticky residue. I also like my cup holder in front of me instead of taking up space on my armrest. Good sound and visuals! Bottom line. I've been to more upscale theaters with all the bells and whistles, but I appeciate the fact that they got the basics right: Courteous staff and a clean, comfortable theater. TIPS: *Leaving the theater. Throw Away Your Stuff: If you bought concessions prior to seeing the movie, or heaven forbid, you snuck a few snacks in, please take the few seconds to throw these items away upon exiting the theater. Have been with people who have popcorn and soda and when we leave, they leave their containers. I've asked them why they don't just throw it out themselves and they respond with "Because that's what the people who clean the theaters are supposed to do. I'm making sure they have a job." I was not happy with that response and threw out the stuff myself. I just don't understand why people find it so hard to throw away a paper bag and cup. *Check your belongings before you leave the theater. I love movies... especially ones on Netflix. So if I am every intrigued enough by a preview to pay $10 (plus parking) to see a movie downtown, I usually cross my fingers that the movie is playing at AMC Pacific Place. If it's not and it's playing at Regal Meridian just a block away I think, "DAMN!" But hey... I've still come here to catch a film, so it's not that bad. It's just when compared to a much newer, much cleaner, much larger theater a block away, this place is the pits. My biggest problem with it is the bathrooms. They are on one level.. and guess what? That's the only thing on that level. It's a half level between theatre levels. So if you have to use the restroom and you're in one of the 16 theatres watching a movie, you need to excuse yourself for a good five minutes because you have to exit your theatre and make your way either up or down a flight of narrow (stinky) stairs. The folks at the counter seem to hate this theatre too as they've never particularly friendly. So yes... I'll see a movie here. But only if I have to! read more

Our first time to a 4D movie theater and we were definitely impressed. It was an experience all it's own! The bar and concessions were excellent! They had everything we could want, fast service and clean. The 4D was such an experience that my husbands wallet fell out of his pocket. We able to return the next morning to search for it. This place does not make me happy. No stadium seating. What? What year am I in? I've been to a few movies here, including a screening of "For a Good Time Call," "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," "The Campaign," and most recently, Edgar Wright's Cornetto Trilogy, ending in the premier of "The World's End." If you are going to be sitting in a movie from 5:30-12, you want stadium seating. You also want the movie to work, which has not happened on two occasions in this theater. I tried to be understanding, since switching from DVDs or however they put the older movies "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" on was undoubtedly a different system than the new "World's End," but COME ON! At least start the movie over from the beginning when we missed the intro AND an important flashback scene the essentially sets the entire premise of the movie up! Cheese and rice! I am vastly unhappy with this place. I'll probably be back, but it is not my theater of choice. read more

I honestly do not remember if I've reviewed this theater before but I think their rating needs my input. I have crippling sciatic pain. I cannot sit in the average theater chair for an entire movie. Well Regal 16 HAS RECLINER SEATS! Seriously, you can elevate your legs as you watch the movie! There are two cup holders at every seat; on the table that's connected to the chair and on the armrest of the chair. Yup, there's a table at every seat that pivots open and closed. The staff is friendly and fun. For some reason when I go to the snack counter at the theater I suddenly feel super stressed out! As tho everyone's theater enjoyment is based on how fast I can order my popcorn and get out of peoples way. The staff is very helpful and friendly. And there's a concession stand on every floor! There is a lot of food to choose from but I can't see myself eating a burger at a movie. But you could do so here if you wanted! Now parking, you'd think that would be tricky being in downtown Seattle but from the direction I come from there is a parking garage entrance at least on two sides of the building. Also, 7th Ave is a two way street so you can always use that entrance from either direction. My main point is that you don't have to park a block away. Lastly, it's a Regal. Regal Cinemas have club cards that let you rack up points and you get free stuff; from a movie ticket to a free soda or popcorn. Seriously, I go here frequently because it's comfortable and I always enjoy myself. Oh and I think the 3D theater on the top floor has "Smellevision"! Enjoy! read more

For people like me who spent our childhoods making the switch from big old downtown movie palaces to multiplexes at the mall, seeing the multiplexes move into downtown is the most interesting part of a place like the M-16. It's multistory in a multistory downtown environment. I used to come here all the time when I lived downtown, and I always loved catching movies in near-empty theaters on cold, dark, rainy weeknights. It was a pretty short walk then, and a great way to see blockbusters and mainstream movies. Coming in from out of town, though, it's not that special. If you're paying to park and slogging it up the escalators, you might wonder why you didn't see the movie somewhere else--because everything they book here is generally in wide release. It's not like this is an art house showing movies with small distribution. But as it goes, it's fine. Normal concessions, decent seats, run of the mill sound and picture. The auditoriums are reasonably well sound-insulated; you don't get a lot of bleedover sound from the next house. They don't actively make it a drag to see movies here, so I won't dog them too hard. I love movies of all kinds in all settings, and I imagine I'll always see a movie here now and then. read more

Didn't feel like a movie theater but more like a restaurant. A variety of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, entrees and desserts! Meh, not so Regal. If I was a monarch, I wouldn't be caught dead here. There are much better theaters around, so I'd avoid this one unless you have a special reason to be there. I don't like that you have to go up and down these sketchy back stairs to use the bathroom (and miss more of the movie), I don't like that they don't have their prices up at the concession stand (if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it?), I don't like that the place seems outdated. They do know that "the new thing" ten years ago was refurbishing theaters with more comfortable seats or stadium style seating, right? I could see if you're doing that "historic theater" thing, but otherwise, it's time to upgrade. That said, it's downtown, so it has location going for it. I wouldn't necessarily choose to come here, but it is often packed, they do sell out shows, and it is more convenient than driving to Cinebarre. Otherwise, I'd probably never be here. read more

This was the place to be, when I was in high school (1997)... with GameWorks below, it had everything a high schooler wanted. Fastfoward to 2010, and this theater a bit dated, but it's the homely Multiplex that was the draw in the past. Why it's only a three star; the movie watching. The screens aren't that large, they are small in today's standards. Realizing that it shouldn't matter that much, if the seating is done right, unfortunately, that is not the case here either. I would expect that any good theater built has great seating anywhere in the room (minus the front row seats of death)... unfortunately the seats have no rise, the view isn't that good. The plus here is that the staff are friendly, and I think make up for the lack of modern feel. The food isn't cheap, but then again theater food is NEVER cheap. If you are looking for a quieter theater, then this might be the place. If you are looking for an upscale theater, you might want to look else ware. read more

Really wanted to watch the spider-man in 4dx... Boughts the tickets on the date when it was on sale. We came to the theater 1 hour before the movie starts... i was down there buying some food for the movie... people came and took my spot and manager and employees gave us the worst spot ever and than we had to return the ticket... tbh it seemed like white-privilege to me didnt get to see my favorite movie... no spots available for the movie next time and no spider-man in 4dx I felt like i hate myself. It was like wtf moment for me... some white people came took our spot without our permission, instead of giving our spot back; the manager and the employees kicked us out. And there is no spider-man in 4dx next week. They thought "Readmission" ticket would make me happy! Seattle movie theaters haven't offered much in terms of experience Since I've lived here, so I was really surprised today when we found that the theater now had added a full bar (and you can bring drinks into the theaters). The offered beer, wine (and!!!) mixed drinks, and get this, the drinks were actually good. They told me that they had been only doing this for 2-3 weeks (and you could tell that they were making the drinks carefully and were a little netbooks). I was really surprised that they were good. The theaters have also been nicely upgraded with reclining chairs and assigned seating. No they just need to add food service from your chair. read more

Stoked to have such a beautiful theater within walking distance of my place. It's a fascinating set up and there's ample signage directing you to the multiple levels as well as enthusiastic staff to help. I've enjoyed the few movies I've gone to here and love the sitting area overlooking Pike Street. Nice place to chill and chat after the movie. I was perfectly enveloped in the reclining chairs and lots of leg room for this six foot tall Amazon. I understand earlier poor reviews might have been so because the place was under construction but I had no issues getting to the loo from the theater or finding which level my movie was playing on. Stoked that they play such a variety of indie and mainstream film too. Super relaxing experience for me here and excellent location for me to hop on a bus or catch the link home too. read more

Films are churned out of the 4D theater too quickly, which ends up screwing people over who are not able to see them on opening weekend. Suicide Squad for instance, was only given ONE week before being booted by the awful-looking "Free Guy". Two weeks later, they are rerunning the first (2001) Harry Potter movie. This is kind of an odd theater. It has no parking, which is kind of frustrating. I usually park in the garage next door (wish it connected to the building) and they don't validate, so you pay the full rate. Since it's in a downtown area, the lot is rather small so the theater is really tall and consists of multiple levels. The ones with recliners are actually really nice (it's not as nice is iPic in Redmond but better than a standard theater). Because the place is so tall, you might have to go up/down a floor to reach a bathroom depending on what level you're on. read more

Parking is just annoying when it comes to watching movies downtown but if you're willing to pay $5 to $10 bucks for an hour then you should be fine. The last two movie screenings I watched here were Tron 3D and The Green Hornet. I like that they hold free movie screenings but the problem is, it gets really crowded and the theaters that they choose to seat us... are tiny. Ugh. And I also feel like the place is poorly laid out, the building is too tall and not wide enough, if that makes sense. I feel like I spend a lot of my time going up escalators or stairs just to get to the bathroom. Kind of annoying. I've been an unlimited member ever since AMC charged me twice for one month and refused to refund me. It's been years. Last month I requested a cancellation since you can't do it on your own which is already frustrating, why do I need to ask someone to cancel something for me? The offered me $5 off for three months and if I agree to that to respond with "I'm in" other wise they'd supposedly cancel. I said no but if they want to offer me $5 per month total for three months then they don't need to cancel. They confirmed my counter offer and kept me on. They've charged me twice now at $5 off instead of $5 total and refuse to give me back my $32 and confirm the next month will only be the promised $5. Instead they keep telling me that I agreed (which I didn't) and that they can't cancel until after the next charge for the three month rule WHEN IVE HAD REGAL UNLIMITED FOR YEARS. Such a scam. I remember their August reward thing too where you got something every visit, they only gave me half. It's sad because I would go see almost every movie and if bring people who would pay full price and buy $70+ in concessions every visit (I've been over 100 this year alone) and instead of value it the thousands of dollars of business that I personally bring them every year, they'd rather screw me over and refuse my $32 refund for that charge that I did not consent to. AMC only owes me $23 so I guess they're the lesser scam now and I'll just have to return to them. This is why people hate the cinema these days. Y'all are thieves. read more

If you've been to Universal Studios then you know what to expect from the 4D experience. Motion, water, air, vibration and even the seats can simulate "hits" on your back. Definitely not for everyone. Depending on the person you may get annoyed of all the movements during a 2 hour plus movie. I can see how it can be distracting to the actual movie. On the other side of the spectrum you have the people that will love the unique experience from the typical night at the movies. People who are too focused on the movie might not even notice they're moving around. I saw Ready Player One here and personally I think it made the movie better. The movie genre and action went perfect with the 4D. However, for a movie that I am dying to see (Infinity War!!) I will take a huge IMAX screen with a recliner any day. I'm the type that hates getting distracted and wants to purely focus on the film. Note that these seats don't recline and about halfway it got a little uncomfortable since you're sitting on what feels like hard plastic. 2 main grievances I had was that there was no AC. It got HOT and the only air we got was when the 4D made use of the fans. The second was that the audio was weak. I was confused at first because I thought they were going to turn it up for the actual movie during the previews but nope. After seeing other reviews I guess that's how it is. Management needs to change this ASAP. For the occasional movie you want to make better go for the 4D. read more

Regal makes my epic wall of shame, totally ruining the experience of going out to see a movie, and operating a theater as poorly as this. Most of the employees working there acted gloomy and miserable to be there and were completey checked out. No smiles, no interest to even talk to any customers to answer a question. In fact there were 2 people standing behind a desk to sell tickets with one on the phone, the other doing nothing, and I still had to wait several minutes to get help, eventually from the unpleasant acting mopey person that was on the phone. The place looks like a dump. The carpets are dirty, worn, and badly stained. Walls need clean paint. The location of the bathroom on a different level than the auditoriums completely sucks and is very inconvenient. It would be horrible for someone that needs to use the restroom often or a physically challenged person. The inside of the bathroom door looked like what i would expect to see in an old tavern. The toilets don't have auto flush either. The ridiculously overpriced "food" is the most unhealthy, cheapest crap junk food I could imagine. Nothing interesting and special. I'd rather buy snacks at a discount store as it would still be better with more interesting variety than the limitted crap they serve with cheap oils and too much salt. Then, they have the nerve to charge over $40 for three people to just get in the door to see a movie advertised to start at 11 AM. Then, we were forced to watch stupid commercials for another7-8 minutes after the movie is supposed to start. Then, they showed about another 23 minutes worth of previews that ended with 2 additional commercials related to the theater. The movie started 30 minutes late. They treat you and your time with no respect. Why should a customer be forced to watch soooo many stupid commercials after the movie start time, when we are paying ridiculously high prices already to see the movie, just so the theater can squeeze every bit of profit out from us via excessive annoying advertising. They definitely don't seem to be sufficiently reinvesting profits to keep the theater nice. Although the reclining seats are quite comfortable, and the location of the theater is convenient downtown, the condition of the theater overall sucked. Dont sit near the aisle as the lights on the floor are too bright and distracting. You are too far outside at the edge of the screen, which is not big enough for optimal viewing when sitting off the aisle. Going to movies used to be a nice experience, but this sub par location motivates me to only stay home in the future, where it is much more enjoyable and convenient to watch a film. If this is the best that Regal theaters can do these days, I hope they all go out of business, maybe making way for a company that knows how to operate with better quality. read more

This was a very upsetting experience. The theaters is under construction and does not have a very inviting atmosphere. The tickets were almost 15.00 a person very pricy. The popcorn was not good. It tasted stale, old and unsalted. The only seats left were in the front row. These seats are slow closes it's uncomfortable and does not allow you to see the whole movie. The theater was not very sound proof you could hear the bass of another movie next door. Will not come again. read more

This theater has extremely comfortable leather recliners that can be reserved in advance, and they accept Movie Pass. Unfortunately, the audio and video quality is some of the worst around and the layout of the building is incredibly confusing (one bathroom for sixteen theaters, located on its own separate floor, reached by its own separate staircase). 5 stars for the seats. 1 star for everything else. read more

It's now 2018, and this Regal location has stepped up its game. They now have fewer seats per theater, but you get plush seats that recline and have tables. They also assign seats when you buy your ticket, which takes all the variance out of the seat-picking game when you walk into the theater. Overall, this is definitely a huge win! The video/audio technology is definitely not best-in-class yet. If you're used to Cinerama, watching a movie here will be a sorely disappointing experience. However, if AMC (one block away) is your other option, you won't be doing any worse by picking one over the other. Also, MoviePass works here! Hell yeah! read more

Went for the 4DX, got 4DX which was fun. Nothing else about going here was positive. Parking costs as much as the movie, employees are nice enough but seemed aimless. Regal really lost points, though, when I thought I left something near my seat and tried calling. Regal directs all calls to fill out a contact form on their website and wait for a response. Unable to contact Lost & Found, I had to physically return to the building, at which point the next show started and I was told to wait 2.5 hours, meaning more parking fees and then leaving downtown in the middle of rush hour.
