Saw Fire Walk With Me here and it's such a cool local spot, highly recommend! The staff is very sweet and they do intermissions which is rare and needed sometimes!!

I love this place! They show B-movie horror, animated movies, and cult classics - I've come here for years for their regular showings of The Room, Rocky Horror and Hausu. The service is good and they have cute themed drinks.

In common this is a good place. We were here at Stargate movie. You can enjoy good old school movies with food and drinks which you can order. Also it's a good idea to invite some experts which will discuss about movie before and after. All these things a definitely pros. But cons also were and they are pretty big as we think. One thing is uncomfortable chairs and sofas. There are not so big spaces for your legs between chair and table. And of course it's not so comfy to seat about 3 hours on chairs. Another thing is bad smell. It was until people do not order their pizzas and pizza flavor has become sensitive.

What is your Seating Capacity for Rental?

Hi Mayson, total seating in the theater is 120, but we have been holding that to 70 during covid. Rentals are currently on hold during the Omicron surge but we will be bringing rentals back when things calm down.

How is the ventilation in these Covid times?

Hi Xana, yes we have the HVAC running continuously when we are open. We have also installed Upper Room Germicidal UV lamps for disinfecting the air above people's heads. The staff is all vaccinated and wearing masks. All customers must present proof…

Even during the homeless days with the Capitol Hill and U District tweens with patchwork jackets and dogs mobbing around in packs this theatre was in good condition. I have over 20 years of memories coming here watching indie movies like Pirana, docuseries to Siff films. I also watched plenty of blockbuster films. My fondest memory is the smell of the popcorn that fills the front space. It is so distinct and the melted butter and grease on my fingers rubbed on my movie ticket is nostalgic. I love the indie vibe of the workers. It was a polite Seattle cool, depending on the era a little emo and punk, with some grunge. The attitude was very U District. I hope this theatre can raise the funds to fix itself up. It is one of my favorites and I hope it doesn't get boarded up. It still has so much life left.

At this point it felt like it's mostly dependent on personal preference so I decided to go in and find out. I thought the place is decent. The biggest attraction is that tickets are probably the cheapest in the area. Regular ticket price is around $16 for Seattle but it's $10 at Varsity (as of December 2023). And you get a dollar off if you're a student. Also you don't even have to buy the student tickets in person because you could just order them online (other places like AMC downtown, you have to go in person). I made sure to bring my student ID in case if they want to check, but it was never checked onsite. I think it's a little more shabby than AMC and other more commercial theaters, but it does its job. The movie started on time and there were no issue throughout the movie. I wish they could just shut off the ads before the screen turns on at starting time because you're facing a blue screen that shows nothing while the ad is blasting. On the other hand, I liked that there aren't that many previews to watch through to get to the actual movie I came to see. The bathroom is two flights up the stairs from the ground floor. It's well kept and smells ok, but they probably have to check the toilet paper inventory more often. By the time I went in, there were no toilet paper left at all so I didn't forget to inform the staff that before leaving. The staff was polite and accepted my remarks in good spirit.

Since the mid-90s, Three Dollar Bill Cinema provides access to films by, for, and about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people and their families, and a forum for LGBT filmmakers to share and discuss their work with audiences. They curate themed screenings throughout the year and produce programs in partnership with other arts, cultural, and service delivery organizations in the Greater Seattle area. Now that's out of the way, let me tell what else they do. Once a year, they host the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, now the largest of its kind in the PNW! This festival showcases award-winning films and also gives chances for those in the community to express their own creativity in short film submissions that are shown on the big screen. They host a Transgender Film Festival and a Spring Film series highlighting vintage queer films. Two of my favourite events would have to be their Outdoor Cinema, held at Cal Anderson Park and Cineoke! The outdoor film series is always free and ALWAYS fun! So grab a blanket, grab your domestic partner and head on down to the Hill for some fabtastic film. And if you haven't gotten your karaoke on, get down to the Jewelbox Theatre on second Mondays, choose a scene from your favourite movie musical and get ready to be a star!

The screen is from ceiling to floor, and then some! It is absolutely huge! The stadium seating combined with the colossus of a screen means that there is not a bad seat in the house! The sound is impeccable and very immersive! Very loud yet well tuned! It will have great sound on both low range and high range frequencies. It is a nonprofit which gives you a little more warm fuzzies that the reasonable cost of your ticket is going back to the community. There are the standard modern concessions, with good popcorn, and also a variety of local beers, wines, and ciders!! Concessions are actually pretty affordably priced compared to other modern day theaters! Best place to see your event movie of the year! Some of the best movies I have seen here were Oppenheimer, 1917, Avengers Endgame, and Star Wars Episode 9. (Somehow, Palpatine returned... terrible movie, but at least the picture and sound were immaculate). Cheers!

Unfortunately, the experience was one of the worst I've ever had at a theater. The seating is unbelievably cramped. If you're over 5 feet tall, prepare to be uncomfortable for the entire movie. The seats are small, hard, stiff, and offer virtually no legroom. Sitting through a three-hour film felt unbearable. What concerned me even more was how the auditorium is laid out. Once everyone is seated, you're essentially trapped. There are no aisles running through the seating sections, making it extremely difficult for people to get in or out without disrupting entire rows. It genuinely made me wonder what would happen in the event of an emergency evacuation. The concessions didn't make up for it either. The popcorn was stale, and the overall concession experience was disappointing. To make matters worse, seating is first come, first served, so if you want decent seats, you'll need to arrive at least an hour early despite already having purchased tickets. This theater completely overshadowed what should have been an incredible film experience. I would not return, and I would strongly recommend seeing a long movie somewhere with comfortable seating and a better auditorium layout.

It's back-to-back down Harvard with the Egyptian - that cinema space has found a home with SIFF. The Erickson rents their space to other performers and I saw my friends' performance there. The area is a parking nightmare weekends, but there is a paid parking garage at Harvard and Pine. Regular Seattleites probably know all the South Capital Hill parking angles better than I do! Of course the area weekends has many options for before and after a show. The theater itself has a respectable lobby. The house has comfortable seats and is small, intimate, with no sightline or sound issues. The lobby has a few couches and a bar. The two large restrooms are for everyone. Everything is neat and clean midscale. The sound is good. The stage has a good floor, but I don't think they have linoleum. There is really no fly space and no side stage area. The stage is not small, but it is smaller than the Meany and Paramount. All in all, the space hosted a great guest performance in a great active nightlife location, and in a comfortable, clean, and audience-friendly space. Karin has taken care of us countless times, whether it's a quiet Monday or an absolutely packed one due to the events at the town hall across the street, and they have always been warm, patient, and accommodating. I actually celebrated my birthday here because it's one of my favorite spots. I am part of the large group that one of the recent negative reviews is referring to. It happened immediately after the USA FIFA match, and the restaurant was the busiest I've ever seen it. Despite that, Karin still went out of their way to accommodate our requests that normally wouldn't be possible due to the rush, including trying to help with separate tabs when they'd already explained that large groups would likely need to stay on one check. As for things like grabbing water, silverware, plates, or chili flakes...our table had already gotten those before a majority of the group arrived. It's a casual pizzeria, on one of their busiest days ever. Setting and cleaning up the table (especially when seated outside) is not a problem for our group as we do it every week. Which is why it's upsetting that we opened our spot to someone that left such a nasty review. What stood out to me wasn't poor service. It's that despite how overwhelming it must have been to work post-FIFA, Karin was able to take orders, bartend, serve food, and close out checks with professionalism. Sometimes no matter how much effort someone puts in, not everyone leaves happy. The pizza is fantastic! I love showing up every week and trying what new slice they have come up with (in the year that I've been coming here there legit hasn't been a repeat).
