I went to this location because I am a regular at the location in Union City, GA- so I figured I would give them a shot- despite the bad review- any time I am visiting my family in Jacksonville. I saw the warning to ask for the cost ahead of time and was told "I will tell you at the end." I asked why I couldn't know beforehand and the tech said "I dont know what nail shape you want." To which I responded "short and very narrow." we argued about the price for a bit because I didn't understand why the Cat-Eye nail design was $70 a $30 upcharge. I was told "because you have to get Gel." The price on the board for a full set showed $40 so the jump to $70 felt absurd but I obliged because I had an interview that week and it was my birthday so I figured "I'll splurge". After my nail shape was complete, I was confused- because they were not at all narrow. I asked "can you make them more narrow?" And was told- point blank- "No. Because narrow nails trap water." I insisted that I often wear narrow nails and was told that tech has been doing nails for a long time. Whatever that means. I was tired of arguing even though before they started work- I specifically stated that I wanted very narrow- short nails. Moving forward, we proceed to polish with the cat eye. The process for that, is literally painting a polish on top of the nail (not at all worth a $30 upcharge). After two nails were painted, I noticed the color was significantly darker than anticipated. Most salons will paint your nail and show you- this tech was simply just slapping the paint on. I didn't want to complain but as mentioned- these would be interview nails- so I spoke up and asked for a different color. The tech was very upset. Only two nails were painted, and with one coat! I'm allowed to dislike it And there was NO ONE ELSE IN THE SALON with an extra tech watching her polish me. I picked out a second color and after one nail was painted I realized- that cat eye color was not translating on my short FAT nails. It came off very old lady- so I apologized and said "I am so sorry. I will pay whatever- please take it off. And just give me a regular nude pink polish." The tech GOT UP with an attitude and walked away to collect herself. I was not rude at all. I knew changing coats a third time would be annoying which is why I told her to charge me whatever- but at the end of the day- they are providing a SERVICE. They were nasty when I came in. Dishonest with pricing. And the salon is not clean. This was one of the most awkward encounters I've had at a salon. And my "birthday"/interview nails were a mess. Such a shame because the Union City location has my whole heart! They are professional, clean, and accommodating and my minimum 25% tip + previous review to there shows that. This salon needs to clean up their salon and their attitudes. Avoid them at all costs. read more

I went there last Saturday to get a new set of acrylic nails. First, they were going to put a new set on top of the Old one. 2) Then they were using a new acrylic nail to remove the Old after I complained. While doing this, they tore my nail bed on two finger. The index on the left hand and the thumb on the right hand. At this point, I stopped them and was ready to leave. They wanted $30 for this bull crap. I gave them $25. WOW, I don't recommend going on a Sunday unless you've got alot of time to spare. I actually went to two others near the airport exit off of I-95 and they all had an hour wait. So since I had to go into Walmarts for something else.... Pedicure was done very quickly and professionally. Tools came out of sanitizer solution. Pedi water was HOT! Almost forgot! Ya'll have seen that pedegg commercial on TV??? Well, this nail tech did one better -- she got out what looked like a cheese grater and did up the heels and removed the rough calluses that form -- ya'll know what I'm talking about! So I asked her, "Is that a cheese grater?" She quickly said, "Yes" and proceeded to work her magic on the heels....wow, neat! Just as the nails were being painted, the tech asked me if I'd like a flower -- well, of course! It's summer and time for the piggies to come out so, yes, of course I got a flower on each of the big toes. VERY PRETTY!!! Then she finishes with an acrylic sealer for longevity. I went on 8/28/21 to get my nails filled in at Regal bails at Walmart at Rivercity in Jacksonville Fl . They asked if I wanted to get my feet done that the deluxe pedi would cost me 37$ so I thought ok , so I got it . Then after doing both the mani and pedi done I got my eyebrows done , which I usually pay around 13$ for . After getting everything done the girl added the 3 services together and told me $139.00 for all three . So if I paid $50 for my eyes and feet , my nails were 89$ for a fill in . Had always been happy with the service up until this past Sunday. Had a gel fill and expected it look as good as it did two weeks ago when I had it done for my cruise. It was extremely busy and the "20 minute" wait turned in to an hour and the results make me believe it was rushed and I didn't get the service I had paid for. Another Yelp rant because of my horrible first pedicure experience at this place! This girl who did mine needs a new profession. This was a very bad choice of places for a first (or any) time! But I've never even had a manicure, so I was oblivious to the evil lurking in the salons. Infections, virus, fungus... I assumed there was laws about cleanliness. So I didn't think it needed to be a high end place to be ok. How naive of me. I also had no idea what even goes on during a pedicure and that you shouldn't actually get your cuticles cut, or that that's even what she was doing with all those scary tools. Yes, I'm clueless to all of this girly stuff and getting this done here was a friends idea. All I know is that it hurt when she did it. Aren't these supposed to feel good and relaxing? That's what I've heard. Anyway, the aftermath is where my real problem lies. I somehow didn't notice until quite a few hours later when it became unbearable to walk. But she cut the skin on one of my small toes pretty deep (luckily it never bled) along the side of my nail and that hard flap of skin is overlapping onto my nail. Seriously, I didn't go to a salon just to have my feet mangled.. I will never again risk another pedicure anywhere because of this place. Do not go here. read more
