I never write reviews but getting acrylics done at this place was the worst decision I ever made. My fingers are raw as she filed my skin on several of my nails. Not only that but everything looked bumpy and messy. She had to redo my one hand because it looked that bad. The "nail tech" rolled her eyes at me several times. This is usually where I get my nails done in State College. I was never a "getting my nails done" type person, until I got a pedicure and realized that the massage chair and foot soak did a lot just in terms of stress reduction and relaxation. Plus, $35 for a mani+pedi didn't seem to bad. Once, however, the women doing my nails cut my cuticles so short that 8 of 10 fingers bled; she put the sanitizer on without warning me it may burn, but at least it stopped the bleeding... until I got home and another ripped open. What I find disappointing about Regal Nails is that yeah, it's cheap, but it lacks. I feel like they're always in a huge hurry, and the work suffers as a result. When I'm in Chicago I can get a mani-pedi for $35 where it's much more thorough and high quality; yes, I realize it's in a different place, but it seems silly that in a city of 3 million I can get better services for the same price... and everyone blames big cities for being expensive. This is "A-OK" for State College, because I haven't found better. It would get 2 stars in another place. read more

Visiting my dad for Christmas, my sister in law and I were restless (there's not much to do in State College) and decided to get pedicures. We actually yelped this place inside Wal-Mart and decided to try it out. We made appointments, but it was so crowded we had to wait about 20 minutes after our appointment time. No biggie though, they were just especially busy. What we both loved best about this place were the massage chairs that we had our pedicures in. It was the best chair massage I've ever had, for what it's worth. Our pedicures were relaxing and our toes looked great after. We both could have done without the sales pitch to "buy callus treatment! You have so many calluses!!! You are so hard on your feet and need callus treatment!" But otherwise, we were pretty satisfied. And they're kind of right, I am pretty hard on my feet. read more

Yesterday, I visited Regal Nails located inside of the Papillion,NE Wal-Mart. While getting a manicure my nail started paining. The woman place the hand she was working on back into the little bowl of water. I looked down and there was blood everywhere. The woman had cut through my skin, more than once. I asked for a bandaid and she kept saying I didn't need one and the nail trimmer was new. I wish I had notified someone right then. It is now the next day and the area is still bleeding. I might end up having to go to the doctor. Which means this $15 manicure will cost me over $100.00. When I went into the nail shop, there was not a single customer. The employees were watching videos on their cell phones. One employee was even playing with a toy dog. I thought at least they will have plenty of time. Instead of ... no one wants to come here. While there one of the employees came a just stood and stared at the woman doing my nails. Then that same woman went a took a nap in the nail drying chairs. 5 hours after I got my nails done the top coat was already wearing off. I had to wait an hour to get my nails done when they had said it'd only be a 20 minute wait. Since I go to school out of town I won't be able to get them fixed since I'm leaving. The dip nails aren't supposed to use light but they put a top coat on that was for gel and didn't even leave it under long enough to set. Despite the kindness of my nail tech, the quality was not there and the fact that 6 if my nails are already starting to lose the top coat less than 10 hours later is incredibly discouraging. read more

This was without a doubt the WORST manicure I've ever gotten. There was gel polish stuck all over my skin, my nails were uneven and she was so careless when she filed them afterwards there was scrape marks on my nails. I left the salon and realized they were so bad that I went back an hour later. The lady nicely redid them for me saying the nailpolish was bad. Even the second time, my cuticles look awful and 4 days later my nails are all cracked. Will not be going back. read more

My favorite thing to do is to drop my car at Walmart's Tire & Lube for an oil change, and instead of sitting in their dirty waiting room or spending $$ at Walmart... Without a doubt the BEST gel manicure I have ever gotten and was finished in half the time I usually am at a "fancier" salon downtown state college. AND so much cheaper - $25 gel manicure! you can't beat it and they are all so nice there. I will go back tomorrow for my pedicure! Best place I have gotten a pedicure in State College so far. I moved here from Pittsburgh a year ago, and I had some trouble finding a decent nail place at first. I read about this place on Yelp and decided to give them a try. I was not disappointed! The staff is extremely courteous and accommodating. Prices are VERY reasonable. The pedicures are thorough and the work is solid. I have had a different nail tech every time I have been there, and everyone has done an outstanding job. Facilities are kinda blah, but clean! Got my nails done on Thursday evening, and by Saturday morning on 3 of my nails the polish had chipped.

Worst mani/pedi I've ever had. The young man doing my nails was clearly in a rush even though there weren't other customers waiting. He used his long nails to help scrape off my previous toe polish, which was very uncomfortable. He did the same thing to 'clean up' the polish when doing my manicure, and he laughed when I told him that it hurt. Not even an hour later the polish was chipping. He also cleaned up my cuticles before they had soaked in hot water and took off so much skin that the area is now bright pink and sore hours later. Overall the experience was not relaxing and a waste of my time and money. I observed other patrons who were being serviced by other technicians that seemed very pleased with their service, so perhaps its the luck of the draw and I just got the worst person there. I tried this salon about a month ago and had a fairly positive experience, quick service for walk in with no appointment. Tech was friendly and did a good job, wasn't the quality I get from another salon in town that I love but they are always super busy, & can sometimes wait an hour just to get seated at a station. Anyway, I decided to try them again as I needed a gel mani and reg pedi. Unfortunately I am not satisfied with either. The pedicure was not a "pedicure" like I have ever had before, it was basically a foot soak with polish removal and re-polish, very disapointed in all the more time that was taken to trim, file and do cuticles, my entire pedicure took only about 1/2 hour. My feet look dry and not fresh at all, won't go there again for a pedicure! The gel manicure is not great work, the nails are uneven and "thickly" polished in places leaving them somewhat bumpy. Plus I have squared off nails and she rounded them without even asking - not happy about that! Plus she cut my cuticle and my finger today is extemely sore and swollen. I really wanted to make this my "go to place" because its a quieter, more relaxed salon but the service is just not pleasing! read more

I've gone here for 8 years which was two owners over the years... They were great. But under new ownership This is one star too many. Paid for Healthy Nails (nexgen) and the guy did his own concoction of steps which resulted in nothing but chipped and broken nails ! When suggesting he was using a different process than previous owners, he scoffed! Back for nail repair in 2 days and he blamed me! And yes, more need fixed now . I haven't needed a nail repair in years! The nexgen Is a simple process ..and he screwed it up again when I went for the repair ! He was rude and arrogant ! Not goin back! read more

I don't expect too much when it comes to a mani and pedi. The folks here won't scrub calluses unless you pay $10 extra and they only use about a pea-sized amount of lotion to moisturize your legs (not even your feet that you just soaked in hot water). I was told that my toes were completely dry-- and now that I'm home and my shoes are off, they're completely messed up already. Don't waste your money. It's not worth it-- you're not getting what you pay for. read more

I sat there with my hands in a tiny bowl of cold water for close to forty minutes before anyone came my way. I got a gel manicure, and it peeled two days later. As another review said, the name is now DaVi Nails. The staff is friendly, no language barrier here. My friend and I both got the $40 pedicures today because we haven't had one in a while. The experience was wonderful. There are many pedis to chose from but our feet definitely needed the extra attention. It's located right inside the entrance of WalMart, very convenient. Although I had been previously happy for the most part with the services this last time was a customer service nightmare. The woman doing my pedicure and manicure started off the hard sell with my toes. I did not want french nails for my toes but she asked twice. Then after applying the color she asked if I wanted a stripe. I did not. Then she asked me I swear about 6 or 7 times if I wanted the more expensive nail gel for $23.00 instead of the regular manicure for $12.00. Over and over and over!!!!! When she started my manicure she did not soak the nails at all and used the tool to push the cuticles up on a dry nail bed. Ouch. Just rude. I will never go there again. I would give 0 stars if I have an option. An old man with his shivering hands did my nails. He cut down my cuticles to an extent where it bled for 6 fingers which took almost two weeks to heal. Thank god he did not remove my whole nails while trimming them. Worst service and they don't even deserve a penny for their disgusting and sloppy work. read more

Very disappointed with the customer service! I was told the wait was 2 minutes, I waited for 15 minutes. I signed in and said I wanted only a pedicure (cost $25). I was asked what I wanted and said a basic pedicure. Workers are very hard to understand, so when the women was confirming, I said pedicure again. The pedicure was good, felt rushed and she did not massage my legs/feet very long. When I went to pay, she said $35!! I asked why when the price board said $25 for a pedicure. She told me I wanted a spa pedicure. Not sure what that is, it is not on the price board and I did not ask for it. But she didn't care, she still insisted that's what I wanted. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
