A solid choice in movie theaters. I've been to Regal Northwoods a number of times and have had a pretty good experience each visit. They have showings at all times of the day and later into the evening, are open on holidays, and have expanded their concession menu quite a bit since I first visited several years ago. Theaters have big, comfy reclining chairs, large screens with excellent sound quality, and are almost always clean. I will note that there have been times where ticket prices have been higher than those of the Palladium IMAX theater, so it might be worth checking other theaters if pricing is something you're concerned about. All in all this theater is a pretty good choice for a movie viewing experience. Make sure to snap a photo with their movie promo standees while you're there! read more

My group of three made plans to go watch Scary Movie 6, and I was looking for a theater close to my neighborhood when I came across Regal Cinemas. The theater was packed with people, but it wasn't bad at all when it came to waiting in line for snacks. The line moved quickly thanks to the six cashiers working and the extra staff helping out, which I really appreciated. The large soda size was perfect and lasted me the whole movie. The popcorn had just the right amount of butter, exactly how I like it. I also loved the size of the entertainment building. There was plenty of room to move around, and the high ceilings made the space feel open and comfortable. For my experience, I think it would be nice if the theater had a policy about guests taking off their shoes during the movie. The person sitting next to me had their shoes off, and the odor was unpleasant. I also think the theater should look into a different cleaning process for the recliners because there was a noticeable wet-rag smell in the auditorium. read more

Since I moved to town, I've been checking out different theaters trying to find one I want to visit regularly. I purchased my tickets online, and while the concession line looked pretty long, it moved surprisingly fast. The lobby is also very spacious, which was nice. One thing I liked was that they had Twisted Tea available, since not every theater carries it. We went to watch Scary Movie 6 in Auditorium 4. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked into the auditorium, there was a strong wet-rag smell that stayed throughout the entire movie. It was also very warm and humid inside, to the point where I was sweating the whole time and my hair was actually damp by the end of the movie. That was definitely my biggest issue with the experience. I'm not sure if it was just an issue with Auditorium 4, but the AC seemed to be struggling, and the room felt uncomfortable for the entire show. That said, I'm willing to give this theater another try because it's conveniently located near me, and the rest of my experience was positive. No one should ever arrive to watch a movie and have to remove trash from their seats or seating area. This theater was not well kept at all. Even the trash cans were overflowing with trash upon arriving... the concessions did move fairly quickly but I still think they were overpriced for the quality. This Theater is very clean staff are all very friendly. This is my number one go to. I went to see Sarah's Oil. It wasn't posted on the outside marquee. I like how comfortable the seats are at this location, though they've definitely been well used and it shows. They are a little loud in transition which I've found is a pretty typical occurrence with the poly covered seats that move. They serve beer and wine here but don't try to get two at a time by yourself, they don't allow it and they card every time. They serve burgers, pizza and other heavier food items along with the typical movie theater fare. Regal Northwoods sits right in the middle for me. I have plenty of childhood memories that aren't hard to bring back as not much has changed since then. Being used to larger more modern theaters like the Palladium or Alamo Draft House can cloud your judgement in a place like this, if that's what you expect. Food options include only the run of the mill movie theater fare as well as wine and beer. If you're looking for cocktails or more substantial food, this is not your place. Theater needs to be updated. Seats are uncomfortable and noticeably loud squeaking when people use the recliner buttons during the movie. Went to see Superman this past weekend and the theater, was uncomfortably hot and muggy. A couple of us were fanning ourselves. We did a double feature this day and saw our first movie at Santikos Embassy and due to the showtimes we came to Regal cinemas for a second movie. We paid $10 extra at Regal for less options, outdated and uncomfortable seating and uncomfortable temperatures. read more

Well it has been a hot minute since I've been in theaters to watch a movie and we went on Easter to see King of Kings with the kids. The staff was helpful and good spirits at 10 in the morning. It's definitely showing its age. I come to this theater because it's convenient, quiet, and has some of the shows I'm looking to watch. However, there's not many workers and the seats look pretty worn. This is Theater 5. For this level of seating I would think their prices would be lower. The inside looks clean so it's definitely not the employees slacking. They were attentive and efficient in service but I wouldn't say they were friendly. This is our family go-to destination for any cool new movies coming out. Nestled between so many restaurants and businesses in this area you are bound to keep the fun coming once your movie has ended. Come early to get your tickets before they start their lines at the box office. Once inside your directed to where your movie is but before that...stop by at the concession stand to grab your favorite drink, snack or popcorn. Who can watch a movie without a snack? Lol. The seating is my favorite!!! The whole theater has reclinable seating, even more than the regular lazy-boy you have at home or in your man cave so it adds an extra touch of comfort. Not only that but seating is a good distance from your next neighbor or if someone needs to walk in front of you, there is no weird awkward feeling of being too close to them for comfort. Bathrooms are always clean and start at one end and end on the other side of the theater, so make sure you leave the same way you came from. Also, I love how close the parking is from the theater, no traffic, very safe even for kids to walk but definitely do not recommend unsupervised children walking out in to the street. By far Northwoods Regal Theaters is the most chill Theater to go to in all of San Antonio, come here if you are on the Northeast side of town and want a private, stress free atmosphere to watch a newly released movie. read more

Today I tried to order the Tillamook cheeseburger combo for $10.90 and they refuse to honor the price that was on the board that is in the screenshot in this review. They even called a manager and all Jason did was take a photo with his phone and then walk away and refused to honor the deal. Not only held up the line, but was very embarrassing to my family as I wanted to purchase a meal for my family. This is pure piss poor customer service at its finest. I love this movie theater!! My son and I went to this location to watch John Wick 4 and had a fantastic time. From the time we went in to the time we left we were happy. We went into the movie theater and we thought it looked really cool. I just absolutely loved the ambience. We bought a large popcorn and two large sodas. (They have Pepsi products so I got a Mountain Dew, My favorite). I also got some jalapeños, for some reason I like to eat those. The actual movie theater is great, the seats are leather, they recline, and there's plenty of room between you and your neighbor. The movie theater is clean and comfortable. Overall, this was a great experience for my son and I. I will definitely be going back in the future. If you haven't been to the Regal at Northwoods, I recommend you try it out. Tip: When you get the large popcorn you can refill it. Tip: Use your reward points on the app, the app allows you to get a small popcorn, however, you can pay a dollar or two and upgrade it to a large popcorn. I'm hesitant to post this because I don't really want to bring more attention to this theater but real recognizes real. I hit the movies as often as I can and I loves me a theater with a (recliner, such luxury!) but despite more and more of these popping up, some of my old favorite locations are almost always sold out unless you order tickets way ahead of time. I haven't had that issue with Regal Northwoods, though and even opening weekends I've managed to find great seats after last second decisions to catch a movie. The staff is friendly, lines move fast, and screenings are clean. I like the how high the dividers between each row are, you can't really see who's sitting in front or behind you without standing up which means you're a lot less likely to see the gleaming screen of some strangers phone. I dock it one star because the popcorn isn't very consistent, I go to a lot of 9-10PM showings and I've gotten popcorn that's clearly been sitting there a hot minute. Other times when I go during late afternoon showings I get a bag full of popcorn crumbs. I always have to do a drive by glance to see if it even looks like its worth ordering and just wind up avoiding it all together. read more

Has the Regal lost its crown? Went to a special movie the other night and one of the things we was really wanting to get was the caramel popcorn. But instead of the wonderful flavorful caramel, it was burnt, not very tasteful, but very expensive as well. The restrooms are also looking a little bit unserviced. When we went to Theater 11, the airconditioning was out and they had one tower fan to cool the theater. I know the movie industry has had issues in the past because of COVID-19. This isn't the worst theater I've been to, but it's close. The staff doesn't care, texting while taking orders and then forgetting them. It took them 5 minutes just to hand over a fountain drink. Thankfully, it looks like they are starting to upgrade this theater with the recliner chairs, and it's beginning to look a lot cleaner these days. From the Start, you can see that the Management and Staff are worse than lazy. 8/5/2021 9:50pm Mission impossible. Lines for $9+ Medium PopCorn and a couple drinks were outrageous. There was a giant spill across the entire front. People's feet were sticking to the ground while standing in lines. Counter tops were nasty with no intentions to even clean them at all. Got to the theater and noticed the trash cans were full from the prior show times. Seats were a little tight but there was not one place to sit your popcorn down. My wife complained to me about both bathrooms not having any toilet paper. Smh. When leaving, all the trash cans were still full with the same trash but higher due to the customers setting trash on top. The same spill was in the lobby. This place is a dump!!! The management either does not care or they don't leave their office. Either way, we will not be returning because it's gonna be a health code issue soon read more

Very nice theater. Not super fancy, but still nice! It was our first time last night and the "ticket lady" was nice and super helpful. The concession stand menu wasn't as big as other theaters but still had enough. We got popcorn with extra layered butter and a soft drink. It has been about a year & a half since my last visit to any movie theater and it is so nice to have a semblance of normalcy again. Grabbing some nachos & cheese, popcorn, and a slushee while kicking back in a comfy recliner was an absolute delight. There was no social distancing enforced on the seats but luckily the theatre was no where near full so we were a good distance from everyone. My only gripe was getting in line at the concessions stand, seeing 3 workers behind the counter, and only having 1 line open which caused an unnecessary line to form. The seats are great and the screens look good... when the equipment works. Ford v Ferrari started randomly pausing about 30 minutes in. It took a good 15 minutes to stop for a projector reset. Last month the power went out in Gemini and it took half an hour to fix the sound. Never had so many issues at a theater. I hope they start doing some regular maintenance inspections here. read more

We mostly go to Santikos Cibolo nowadays, but we used to come only to Regal Northwoods. We saw a bunch of movies here during the pandemic. And we have come here for movies we couldn't catch at Santikos. We walked in the theater tonight, and all of the seats were destroyed. This is unacceptable for the price you are paying to watch a movie here. When did this happen and why because this the seats weren't always like this? And the bathroom was disgusting.
