Went to watch the movie "Michael" with my friends on a Sunday afternoon. We snagged our seats & began to order online after scanning in the code. Last time I was here, we ordered from laminated menus & a server took our order by hand. Now your order is designated by your seat number so the order goes straight to the kitchen & I guess a server? Not sure because a server came up to us asking if we were asking about Bloody Marys twice and we told him no. Another one put the iced water on my friend's table even though she hadn't even ordered anything? I don't know where the disconnect is occurring but they need to work it out if this is a brand new system. I ordered my regular Carnivore pizza and saw you could select or omit your ingredients. We couldn't before. Pizza took about 18 minutes and I asked the server for more napkins which he brought later. This new pizza wasn't a thin crust like before and didn't have a zesty sauce as before. I was disappointed because I usually look forward to their thin, crispy pizzas and would consider just ordering that to go if I could. There's an 18% Service Fee added to the check so you don't have to tip at the end. Too bad you can't alter it because the service may be poor? Also, at the end of the movie, they'll text you "WHEN THE FILM ENDS, you have 20 mins to close your tab b4 it auto-closes with 5% tip." WHAT???!! I had my phone on silent so I noticed it when I got to my car & told my friends which they already closed. Both of those reasons I probably won't order a Carnivore pizza again. It was fun while it lasted to have a Mimosa & Pizza. Adding extra "tips" on top of the mandatory "Service Fees" just seems excessive. I can see someone overlooking this after a movie ends if their phone is off, if they have to use the restroom, saying bye to friends, etc. JUST REMEMBER TO CLOSE YOUR TAB BEFORE THE 20 MINUTES ARE UP AFTER THE MOVIE ENDS AND BEWARE OF THE 5% TIP YOU CAN DECLINE!! Bathrooms are clean, seats are reclined but I'd prefer a higher recline for my legs and so did my friends but I get that it has to be flexible for all heights. Lastly, watch where you park because there's a bar across the parking lot below. My friend came back to a scratched up bumper we think was from someone who was drunk! read more

Such a great movie night experience!! From when I opened the door to when I left it was a amazing. "Insidious 6" was just released and I am a huge fan of the universe. The whole theater was in top condition, the lobby, the theater room was clean. I always like coming to this theater because of the whole nostalgia of the old movie posters decorating the walls, and the old commercials on the main theater screen before the trailers. The bar was manned by "Meggan" and she has to be the best bartender this place has had in a long time. She was very nice, polite, and funny. Ohhhh the FOOD....it was late, and I was real hungry so I decided to go healthy and order the "Ceasar Wrap" and it was delish!! Cant remember the last time I had a better one. read more

Their recent financial troubles were reflected in this visit. Theater 1 smelled terrible as soon as we walked in, like a cheap dirty motel room, which is probably attributed to the odor maintaining carpet. The ceiling looked like it was either dirty or water damaged. The chairs had major signs of wear and tear but I did appreciate the reclining feature. What bothered me most is that the quality of the food/drink has gone downhill. It tasted as though they are probably using lesser quality ingredients and make have even resorted to frozen products. I ended up not eating most of the food ordered but I husband finished it. Service was great. I will probably make an effort to eat before arriving at the Drafthouse or may start going to Santikos Embassy more often for the ambiance although I would miss the Drafthouse preshows. read more

Have a pass and will keep going. However with how expensive food and drinks are we are now going more often and only getting water or only choosing between alcohol or food. The franchise offers great movies and the staff are usually great but a message to this Stone Oak location is please take better care of your bathrooms. I enjoy watching horror films but prefer to not experience one in the bathroom. We went this past Friday and the ladies room was a nightmare. There are lights out, broken toilets loaded with toilet paper and broken sinks. Please do better keeping the bathrooms working and presentable. read more

The food was good but in the first half of the movie with $70s worth of food sitting in front of my husband and I a worker comes up to just me and asks "has anyone told you outside food is prohibited?" I told him that we do not have outside food and he insisted that it is prohibited and then walks away. It ruined the vibe and confused us. It would have been such a fun night without that. I don't know what they saw that made them think we had outside food. We 100% did not. read more

We brought our toddler and the movie not starting as advertised was not helpful with keeping the attention of a toddler. There was no party. Nothing that was advertised happened except showing the movie. We will not be doing another movie party here again. read more

Went to see Wicked at this location, and it was a great experience! Although parking was a bit hard to find, the theater itself was clean, affordable, and had a great surround sound! The reclining chairs were great. We ordered dinner, which took a while to come out, but was generous regarding portion size! The drinks were pretty good too. To start, I recently had my card stolen, so it was inactive at the time. I was surprised when the food runner informed me - loudly, in front of other guests - that a credit card was required on file just to order water, and that bringing me one without placing an order was a "courtesy" and that he would not be extended again. I then went to the front bar to ask if I could order fries for my son and pay with cash. The staff seemed slightly unsure but were willing to assist and advised that the order would be delivered to my seat. After approximately 20 minutes, the fries had not arrived, and my son began asking about them. We returned to the bar - missing additional time from the movie - to check on the order. We were told to wait a few more minutes while they checked. Shortly after, the cashier handed us fries with no acknowledgment of the delay or clarification if there had been a mix-up. At that point, I assumed it may have been a simple error and moved on. It wasn't a huge deal, I just wanted to make sure we weren't waiting for an order that potentially got delivered to the wrong seat. However, about 15 minutes after returning to our seats, another order of fries was delivered, indicating a duplicate order. In total, the wait time for fries was approximately 35-40 minutes, which seems excessive for a simple item. Additionally, the ordering system does not appear to accommodate cash payments easily. Other brew-theater locations offer options such as a "call server" button or a way to indicate cash payment within the app. This was also confirmed with a friend of mine sitting next to me. This limitation required me to leave my seat multiple times, which impacted the overall experience. I likely would have ordered more if there had been a more convenient option. read more

It's a chilly evening in San Antonio- the news is freaking out, grocery stores are having their shelves emptied so why not escape the cold and madness and head to the movies!! Alamo Drafthouse is always amazing! Nice and warm inside, loving the reclining chairs! Enjoyed Electric Jellyfish IPAs, Buffalo cauliflower wings and the extremely calorific but oh so good once in a while treat -' loaded fries! Service was fantastic and fast, food and drinks good and Mean Girls - though weirdly different at first - turned out to be pretty good overall! Been going to Alamo for years here and in Austin. The new phone ordering system is absolutely atrocious and goes against everything Alamo has stood for. PLUS: ordering didn't have gift card capabilities, doesn't work when your primarily language isn't in English, and the physical menus are all gone. At least get the system full proof before switching over. Online before it starts? Sure. During? Ridiculous. I'm sorry, I've always chosen y'all over any theater, but this is the last straw. This is the last time at Alamo Drafthouse. We have had too many times where the food doesn't show up at all or at the end of the movie despite checking in the see why it's taking too long. Tonight, the food took 1 hour to get delivered, it was cold and the only reason that we were told is that there were too many orders in the kitchen. We asked for help 2 times to check in on the order and each time no one responded to the theater. My husband and I each had to leave the movie to ask what was going on with our dinner order. Meanwhile, my children were complaining of hunger the whole time. The movie experience was totally disrupted. Not what you want to experience for a night out. It costs too much (plus the mandatory 18% surcharge and 5% tip if not closed out within 20 min of the end of the movie) for such bad service. read more

Just totally disappointed. Now not only do they charge you 18% for a tip you don't even get a server you have to use the app. So what are we tipping for. I asked the server if we could get a drink and we had to go through the app again. I had to order through the app, enter my own credit card. They require your email and phone number. We told them you forgot our food and that took 30-40 minutes to get that. All while being forced to tip 18% percent because they don't want to pay employees. We are avid movie goers and have been going to Alamo for 10+ years on a consistent basis. While we no longer live close to one, we still go out of our way for this experience. It is the upscale version of a regular movie theatre experience. You can expect the theatre to be quiet, the service good, the drinks well mixed and the food piping hot. We love the energy and thoughtfulness of this place and do not mind paying a premium for a premium experience. read more

The Alamo experience is, in my opinion, better than Santikos, EVO, AMC, and anywhere else. The service is top tier, the previews Alamo provides prior to the trailers are so good and mostly tailored to the movies. Their menu selection is huge with good portion sizes and al delicious. You don't have to get out of your seat for anything. Free refills, bottomless popcorn, great quality screens. But my favorite part...the fact that you don't have to worry about people talking. That has been my biggest pet peeve. I paid to enjoy the cinematic experience not the home one and you can easily raise a card to let the server know. I've never had to do it though and I think it comes with people understanding from the warnings. I drive 45 minutes to get here and never regret it. read more

This is one of my favorite movie theaters. We went here tonight to see the new Haunted Mansion movie. I did not have any issue finding parking. There is parking in front of Petco and stairs that lead down to Alamo Drafthouse We got there around 45 before the movie began. They let people into the movie about 30 minutes before, so we got a drink at the bar while waiting. The bartender was nice and attentive. Even the customer that was already there was nice as he offered to move down so I could sit next to my fiance. After having a beer, We made our way into the theatre. I ordered the Really Hot Reaper Wings. I was disappointed when I was told they were out of wings. The server was great and offered to put the reaper sauce with chicken tenders. instead. It had a great amount of spice and flavor. I tried to take a flash photo of the food during the movie but did not go well. I'm not even sure how other people in the audience got pitchforks. I really enjoy the idea of ordering food during the movie, but sometimes it's hard to pay attention to the movie and write your next order. I usually order two beers before the movie begins, and that will last me until the movie is done. If you need to bring up an issue with the bill, you will miss some of the movie. I find this does not happen often. The bathrooms were clean, and the men's room had fun wallpaper from old comic books. I tried to see the women's room wallpaper so I could report it here, but my attempts were just met with screaming and calls for police. I really love Alamo drafthouse. Some of the other theaters don't match the service you get here. Popcorn is fresh. They still come and serve you. We went to go see the Metallica concert. It sure was nice, sitting in AC, drinking cold beer and enjoying the music. Just wish it was a bit louder. The only thing that I don't like, are the tray tables at the seats. They don't swing in or our. Kinda hard to get in and out if your a larger person. I really like all the video extras that come before the movies. Good variety of craft beers, wine and cocktails. We haven't been here in quite awhile and now we'll never go back. I guess streaming movies have killed the theatre biz. Movie was fine, comfortable seats but service and price were the issue. They were out of 3 things I ordered so I subbed whatever they had available. 2 tickets, 2 small pizzas, 2 glasses of wine & 1 beer were well over $100 not counting the tickets. Oh, and they don't make it clear they're already adding 18% service charge on your food bill. All i saw was the tip line, so i added a tip. Pretty hefty tag for 2 people and average food. I'm guessing they have to jack up price$ so the 8 people in the theatre can cover their costs. read more

This theatre was nice, clean, and comfortable. First time here and the process was smooth. From getting my tickets online to ordering food and enjoying the movie was easy. The staff are all very friendly and on it when taking your order, to getting your food, to paying, very professional and proficient in what they do! We ALWAYS have an awesome experience here. They have fun family brunches with props, games, and yummy specialty food and drink options. The Gochugang cauliflower bites and loaded fries are our go tos from the regular menu. The service is top notch. They add a service fee in the bill for a tip but we always tip more because they are just that wonderful. The seats are roomy and comfortable and everyone in the theatre respects that everyone is there to enjoy a movie. We probably go here at least once a month and it's always a great time. read more

My husband and I have enjoyed the season pass for over a year now as we are frequent movie-goers. Has been generally a good experience until the past several visits to Alamo. More and more frequently, people are talking at full volume throughout the entire movie. At one point children (brought to a rated R movie) were talking loudly and throwing popcorn. It doesn't seem like the touted rule "one warning and then you're dismissed from the movie" is really enforced. Instead, during times when I've paid to sit in a specific seat it ends up being me that moves seats due to others near me talking throughout the movie. Staff offers to say something to these guests if I would like. Shouldn't it be a given if your rule is no talking or you're given one warning and dismissed? I haven't wanted to make it a huge deal so I've always just moved if other seats are available. All of this was bearable while the service remained decent; however, this has changed. The past few times we've gone to see a movie here it takes a while to have someone come take our order, 30min to receive drinks, and an hour to receive any food items ordered. Really not possible to even order a second round if we wanted to. The movie experience here is just not worth the money anymore and I've had to cancel my membership for these reasons. Honestly, it may have all started for me when the buffalo chicken pizza was taken off the menu. A bad omen. In all seriousness, I really hope the no talking rule can potentially be enforced in the future and the service returns to its former glory so I can enjoy movies at this theater again. Every time we go to this location the service is getting worse . We saw Mercy the showing at 9:50pm Friday night 1-23-26 . We pushed the button for the waiter to come , We waited for along time . The previews were about to start when I told my husband the waiter hasn't come so he got up and had to go look for him. After a while he finally showed up and I give him my paper order and he tells me that they no longer take paper orders that you have to order through the app and that he wouldn't take my order . So we tried ordering through the app but the app would cut us off . He had to come back and take the paper order. When he could've taken it the first time instead of telling us that they no longer take paper. The other location North Park does take paper you can do either . read more

We had been given a Alamo Draft House gift card and went to see Accountant2 Saturday April 26 3:30pm. Purchased two glasses of wine while prior to show starting and glasses small while price point big, paying $40.00. Walking into theatre noted multiple dirty dishes stacked up on shelves. Temperature inside theater frigid and we noted others had brought blankets so wondered if this was just normal. Went to women's restroom and stall toilet paper dispenser was filled but you could not get any toilet paper out. Movie was excellent, but we won't be back to this theater. read more

Disappointing Experience at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema - Stone Oak I recently visited Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Stone Oak and was thoroughly disappointed with the service and overall experience. Upon ordering an alcoholic drink, the mix was off, and when we requested a correction, we were charged for an entirely new drink instead of a simple fix. This nearly doubled our bill from $10 to $20 for a mistake that was not ours. To make matters worse, when we inquired about a possible comp or discount, we were told it was "against the law" to offer such accommodations. Instead, they offered a $10 gift card, which felt more like a token gesture than a genuine attempt to rectify the situation. The popcorn was stale, and the service was incredibly slow. We had to remind the staff multiple times about our wine order, and even then, it took an unreasonably long time to arrive. The overall experience was frustrating and far from the high standards one would expect from a cinema that prides itself on quality service. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works towards improving their service and customer satisfaction. They got new chairs and tables. Reclining Chairs are comfy but It's a little tight getting into your seat If you are a larger person. Many options for food and drinks. Love the bottomless popcorn! Had the pepperoni pizza. Alamo Drafthouse is my number 1 choice for movies in theaters. read more

My hubby and I came here for the first time on Sunday we watched fall guy funny movie. Anyways the customer service was top tier! Everyone was so nice and explained to us how it works. I order a espresso martini it was one of my FAVORITE ones I've ever had. It wasn't sugary not bitter just perfect and a generous pour. My husband loved the mozzarella sticks and his drink too overall nice experience definitely not an every weekend thing because it is expensive but so is everything else right now. Only reason why I didn't give a 5 star I know it's a movie theater but the seats weren't the best I've been to other movie theaters that reclined more and was more spacious. read more

I don't know what it is about this place. It has great vibes for hanging out with the friends. It's got great vibes for get away and hide away from the world kind of feeling I love the bar and the bartenders never failed to be kind and come up with some great drinks with a smile or stick with the classics. Those are always great too. The food I must say is surprisingly actually delicious so they have a scratch kitchen in the back and I'm pretty certain that they probably got some like gourmet chef in the back that they don't talk about but deserves more recognition than he's or she ever been given. Not to mention they have their basic burger fries tenders but then they go further and they add like hidden gyms in the actual menu. It's probably the one place that I don't ever tell anybody this but sometimes I just go and I get to go meal for lunch or if I'm not in the mood to cook I'll swing by and just grab a meal as well. I love that. The customer service really makes you feel like you're the only person there to watch a movie so if you ever go by yourself and just wanna catch a movie in a meal and don't care to have anybody bother or talk to you this is a great place for that too. We had a wonderful time at the theater- good food, good service. However when we left we discovered that someone broke our window to get in the car and steal our taillights. We were parked in a well lit spot directly outside the theater doors. This happened to another customer as well- and the onsite security guard says there has been a rash of break-ins since the camera was removed. The theater needs to work with building security to work this issue and customers should beware- thieves know you will be in the theater for hours- and don't attend this location until the problem is solved. read more
