I love the regal, sure it is getting a little old but the location can't be beat. It is a short bike ride from the village, super close to the beach and a bunch of bars, and there are plenty of places to eat in the area. Sometimes there can be kids making a little too much noise, but if that bothers you, wait for the movie to come out on redbox. Go on Tuesdays when the movies are $6 all day. read more

We went here last night to see Dr. Strange and was thoroughly disappointed. The movie theater is so dirty!! The seats were disgusting! It was so bad that we left before the movie even started without asking for a refund. Drive a little farther and go to the Cineopolis in Vista. SO much better and it's the same price. read more

This has to be the dirtiest Movie theater I've ever been too. The seats have stains and holes on them. The staff shouldn't allow guest in the theater before cleaning up after from previous showing. The cinema itself was what was expected. Went to see a 7pm showing on a Sunday and the concessions had only one server with a huge line building up - would have thought for a busy time they would have had at least two to three members of staff to bring the line down. Ample parking, restaurants and stores within walking distance that are worth the leg work, friendly staff, and it doesn't get too crazy. I've been to worse, I've been to better, movie tickets are expensive everywhere you go, but if you've got a date and you actually want to spend some time before and/or after the movie together, give it a go. read more

All movie theaters are expensive these days but I like this theater more than the other local theaters. They have lots of show times and there have only been a few movies that have been crowded -- like The Dark Knight. But with those movies, there's usually another show time within 30 minutes. read more

seats arent very comfortable and the ticket prices are a little on the high side... also the concessions people were super rude. I asked where the prices were on the meal deals and the guy gave me a weird look then pointed to his head... i was like um ok... and he just rambled off all these numbers and stood there staring at me. So i was like ill just get something individually, I look back to the menu and they have some animated screen so the prices werent up some soda ad was playing... the guy sighed! I was like well im sorry but if you had your prices posted up like normal places you wouldnt have to WAIT on me... -_- Overall 2 kids tickets one military ticket and a nachos and med soda ran me 50$. I haven't been to this theatre in many years but we had free tickets so decided to go. It's always an interesting area to park nearby then walk around. There was a street fair going on, there is a sitting area in front of the theatre, good for people watching ;) The theatre was pretty typical, fair service at the box office window, quick moving lines, sticky floors, average price. If you are just interested in the movie and not the experience then it will suit you just fine. I on the other hand am a Cineopolis junky, so I most likely won't go back to this theatre.... unless I have more free tickets! read more

Seats were super uncomfortable for my pregnant wife. Theater needs an update and just feels dirty, as many others have mentioned. Got a free bag of popcorn and it was too salty. Most of the employees looked pretty sad. At least the movie was free though (had Hollywood Movie Money and some gift cards). read more

Huge auditorium and some classy features, made for a pretty decent movie experience in comparison to a lot of theatres I've been in. Some strange hiccups - we thought the matinee price (9.50) was steep, but maybe that's typical in California. Also, they forgot to turn off the main auditorium lights until the previews had already begun, weird but forgivable. Really quiet on a Monday afternoon. read more

I am especially partial to this theater, given I've lived in Oceanside for decades and LOVE my city. The prices are still reasonable, and just know that this particular Regal is not state of the art. The seats are still super comfy for a 3+ hour feature and lots of eatery choices within walking distances for before or after. Parking is GREAT. Enormous parking structure. You will notice that both former parking lots are no longer available due to construction. We still have not had a problem finding a space and have even parked on the street behind the theater if need be. There are some homeless over on that side, but safety has NEVER been an issue. read more

Worst movie experience. We went opening weekend for the Jungle Book and the sound during most of the previews wasn't working then mid preview the screen went blank. We had to wait about 15 minutes while the issue was being resolved and apparently some kids in the top seats got restless and starting throwing candy. The movie itself was excellent but unfortunately it got overshadowed by the experience. read more

We enjoyed watching Guardians of the Galaxy! The seats are comfortable and the snacks were yummy!

The wrong times were posted online, so we had to kill and extra hour. They didn't have half the menu items of food that were listed. They wouldn't let us in the theatre early (20 minutes before showtime)even though there was no prior movies playing. I waited in line for 10 minutes at concession with the girl looking at me for 10 minutes and then when I finally get to the counter she tells me the line is back farther.... who does that, you couldn't have told me nicely 10 minutes ago??? I really enjoyed the quality of picture and sound this theater had to offer, but the staff was a little off yesterday. Granted it was christmas day, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Slow service and staff down right rude. Very frustrating having to wait 10 minutes in the middle of my movie to get a refill on a drink I paid extra for to be able to get it refilled. read more

I went here last night and saw Iron Man 3. Nothing super special, and there were only 4 other people in the theater with me. I'm rating this based on pretty much the service and cleanliness of the place. There was still popcorn and litter on the floor when I went in for the 10:15 showing, and the usher walked past me like 5 times during the movie (to probably make sure there were no movie hoppers). Popcorn was kind of stale, but i guess that's what I get for going in at 10:00 on a saturday night. read more

Major rip off @ the snack bar $20.44 for large popcorn & 2 waters. WTF! Didn't really think about it at the time cuz we were in a hurry. After I got home, I called the manager on duty- joke, just wanted to check to see if I was over charged or if this is the ridiculous real price. I called, asked to speak with the manager. After I explained the situation, person I was talking to said she was going to check with the manager-I thought I was talking to the manager??? Going to call me back. 3 days later & no call back. The family is in town so we took the train west. We had a great day at the beach followed by dinner, a movie, and some ice cream. This is a decent theater in a nice location and although you don't really think of going to the movies at the beach, everything is within walking distance and makes for good entertainment. read more

The seats are extremely dirty and very old. You can see stains on them. The theater also smells very bad. When we opened the door to find our seats we got an instant wiff of smelly feet. The entire building is needing a refresh. The 80s decor can be charming and a nice throwback but the dirty stains and smell has got to go. read more

Recently saw Avatar in 3D at this theater. Yes the theater is a little dated, some seats are worn, broken - but the most are not. Seats were comfortable with raise able armrests. Row to row space is a little tight, but my 6'+ frame fitted ok. In general, it was a standard stadium seating affair which allows excellent views of the screen. The requisite video game machines up front and. Tickets for Matinee showing were $12.25 each. Small popcorn, soda, and some milk duds cost $15. Now to what matters: the movie. The screen is a variable width, height setup, was in good shape with no visible defects. It provided an image that was the width of the room or the max height of the movie, obviously depending upon the movies aspect ratio. Basically, the setup allowed for the ideal image projection size for a given movie and could provide a really good cinemascope movie experience. The movie was projected well, with good brightness, no noticeable artifacts during playback. Sound was also presented well - not too loud ,but load enough to immerse oneself in the flick. My wife doesn't like loud movies and it was just tolerable for her. Overall a good experience and probably the place to see a movie in Oceanside. Compared to the theater at College & 76, this place rocks. In addition, nearby amenities were a plus, especially if one is in a hurry. Plenty of parking to the west of the theater and near the bus/train station, about a block or two from the ocean. read more

I always go to regal to watch movies. This time I was being treated by a friend. My kids and husband went to watch the movie lets be cops and the movies was hilarious. I gotta say the most funniest movies ever. But we went to one that we were scheduled to see and we literally had to sit in the front row where I almost felt blinded by the screen. Too close. And when we saw open seats a guy told us they were taken so we were not able to sit there. What we had to end up doing was wait 45 minutes for the next movie so we could get good seats. read more

Love the Tuesday prices and I know this place gets ALOT of business through the week and on the weekend. It doesn't make sense that the seats are all torn up and gross. The inside of the theaters are nice though. Just not where you have to sit for 2 hours. read more

Went to see Alice in Wonderland, it was great! Well the movie and the venue haha . Very well cleaned and the staff (although mostly under 21) was nice and did their job well. I love a theatre full of an audience! This place is great without being too much. read more

I love a good deal and going to the theater is fun but going to this one is like going to no other. Their snack bar offers a great variety of food selections and their popcorn is fresh and tastes very good. The seating is great and comfortable to enjoy a great movie. The picture quality is nice as well as the sound quality. I've never experienced a sticky floor here. read more

No parking, the ticker lady gave me the wrong show time, the movie room sign didn't work, the décor is outdated, the carpeting is dirty, they theater was really hot, asked the guy to check a/c to no luck/sweat box, and the rooms smell musty. Girls if you hate crowds and just want to cry over the latest chick flick in peace take your girlfriends and go to the Oceanside Regal Theater. The clientele is 90% military guys and they will be packed into the latest Jean-Claude Van Damme or Jet Li flick so you can sit and sob in your popcorn to your Hugh Grant loving content. The popcorn is fresh and if you eat too much of it you can always head down to the beach after the flick contemplate your less than stellar love life and walk it off. read more

I've worked in the guest service industry for over 10 years and I do know that when you have a customer that is upset, you do everything you can to at least attempt to help them out. I went to see Star Wars here and arrived over 20 minutes early to a matinee. They told me it was sold out and forced me to pay an additional $10 to see the 3D showing, which I did not want. I acquiesced and went in to get popcorn to which the girl in front of me told me there was plenty of room open in the original theater I wanted and at the time I wanted to see. I went back to the ticket booth to ask and they said, "sorry we are sold out" again. When I told her there were seats she said, "We leave extra seats open" which is understandable but when you have an upset guest and you can make an exception, that's what you do. I was visibly annoyed having to spend extra money and wear 3D glasses I did not want to wear. I went to the non-3D anyway where there were still plenty of open seats when the movie started. I will not be back to this theater and the girl should have said something like, "I am sorry but let me see what I can do after I check everyone in from the line" and then should have done what she could have, made a call or something to accommodate the other theater. If she couldn't have done it then at least I would have been under the impression she made an attempt to do everything she could but we were basically snubbed off. Good guest service isn't that difficult. At least act like you care enough about the patron that is visibly upset to accommodate them. Not impressed or pleased with the level of training here or the service. There are plenty of other theaters to attend and this will not be one of them or where I send my current clientele. read more

Went in Tuesday night after work. Had everything plan out with my girlfriend that we were going to watch "Friends" which is rated R17. The manager Deana who was getting my ticket ask for my ID, but I did not had it with me and I am 28 years old and I came here on Tuesday night every now and then and they never ask for my ID. Never thought that they would ask me for my ID to watch movie R17. So she did not sell me the ticket even though I show her my photo ID from my phone. She also said they its a company policy that I have to show ID to her. I wonder if I am 50 years of age, would she still card me because of the policy? I really feel offended by her judgement, and it really ruin my night. My level of satisfaction of this place below average and I hope that they are aware that the business is still running because of customers. I really hope that they pay more attention on customer satisfaction. read more

I go to this theater all the time and i absolutely love cheap date night on Tuesdays with the half priced movies. The reason I'm giving this theater such a low score is because the movie selections are pretty bad. So many wonderful movies come out, but it seems like if it's educational, inspirational, or eccentric they won't ever show it at this theater. So many movies that I've been excited to see did not come to this theater. The staff is fairly friendly, but we've experienced every issue from no a/c being too hot and stuffy to being freezing cold with a blasting a/c to a movie playing with only volume and no visual and other malfunctions. At peak hours the concessions staff and the ticketing booth seem far understaffed and I've seen lines that practically reach the street at the 7pm showings. Also, the movie times are not staggered at all so you know you can only see a movie from 4-4:30pm, 7-7:30pm or 10-10:30pm. It would be nice to have a few options that started on a staggered interval like around 6pm and 8pm. It's a fairly clean theater, but there are just a few improvements I suggest. By the way, Lin? at the front that takes the tickets is always nice. read more

We went on a Sat afternoon. The movie start time was 1pm. They did not open the ticket window or the theater doors until after 12pm. There was a long line both at the ticket window and yo get into the theater. The employees were rude and there was no organization inside. Those of us with tickets purchased online were in the same line to get inside as those that purchased tickets at the theater window. We got in just at the beginning of our movie despite being there almost an hour early. read more
