My wife and I return here each time we come to Folly Beach mostly for a few hours with a movie in some solid air conditioning with cider and beer available. But the place is getting just a little worse every time. This time the interior lights in our theater were about 40% burned out. It's really too bad because the decor is a little art deco and could be so much better if only they did basic maintenance! The staff were meh and the one cider we bought felt like it was only about half as cold as you'd expect. . .why? read more

We love this theater! It is spacious with a great variety of current movies, specials including movies and concession stand items, and a wide variety of souvenir type items for current movies. Although pricey this is a great choice for a movie in the Charleston/Mt. Pleasant area. It also is nice that it is in a shopping center so you can grab a meal and/or shop before or after. read more

I redeemed a free movie ticket for being a Regal Rewards member, which was easy to do. Concessions are pricey! 18 bucks for medium popcorn and small drink. Comfortable seats and awesome sound quality in Theater 6! I wish the Cinebarre theater was still open since it's closer for me. It may not be as fancy as my usual movie going experience in West Ashley. The staff greet you with a smile. The concessions are very tasty also! ((Reclining stadium seating is always amazing at Citadel Mall Stadium 16.)) The exterior holiday decor of towne center brings you into winter winter wonderland. It's always fun to go to the movies. It's the experience in general. It does not matter what movie or where you are seeing the movie. It's overall the movie theatre frenzy of excitement! This fun filled adventure is the big picture--no pun intended regarding the silver screen. The display for the upcoming Migration movie is awesome and brings you a smile. the employees at regal palmetto grande need to work on costumer service and being more kind. I was with my bf and we didn't know that the movie we paid for was 3-D, and once we saw it on the ticket my bf asked the guy up front that gave us our tickets, "oh this is 3-D?" the worker proceeds to very aggressively lunge forward at him yell at him saying, "yes it says that on the ticket!!" loudly in front of people waiting and it was very rude. I also witnessed him being short tempered with the costumers just for asking him a question. This is very immature and all they need is a little bit more respect towards people. I've started going to the movies more recently and ended up getting the unlimited pass! I definitely think getting the pass is worth it if you want to go to the movies more than once a month. As someone on a budget, this is a great was for me to get out of the house once a week for just one price for the month. This theater is a little showing of its age, but everything is kept up well and is a great place. The theaters could use some new seats, most of them are dirty and I've seen a few broken ones. The seats do not recline and are classic theater seats. I did experience in one theater an insane buzzing noise that lasted all movie. I've been here a few times and there's a 40/60 chance that they'll even check for them. I did buy tickets ahead of time for a recently released movie for a Saturday morning assuming if they'll check any day, it'll be for Moana 2 on a Saturday morning. To the young man taking tickets/scanning tickets at the entrance......you need an attitude adjustment. You weren't mean, but your personality is sooooo lacking. The staff isn't chill at all... I've never been rejected from a movie before. I am under 18, so while it's technically not allowed for a minor to see an 18+ horror movie, I've been going to these since I was 8 years old. Despite it being a rule, it's one of those rules that if you enforce it, you just come across as annoying. Like...tattletailers in elementary schools. Calm down, we're teenagers old enough to be preparing our college applications. Seeing a dead body isn't going to kill us. Also, I asked if I could bring my mom (a 21+ person to chaperone, of course) and they said no STILL. That crap doesn't even make sense. I saw Mother! by Aronofsky with my mom when I was in elementary school, so what kind of rule is that?! I know if my mom was there to begin with they would have said yes because they have before. So it just seems ageist because we're teenagers and because we look like troublemakers. I've had plenty of cinemas let this rule slide before without a chaperone too, so it's just irritating. Actually I think this theatre once got permission FROM THE MANAGER to let me and my friend see Terrifier. The hypocrisy is crazy. They followed us too. Literally cornered us on all sides and acted like we were criminals (we did pay for a movie that we could see, but they only asked to see OUR tickets). Do y'all get paid enough for that kind of attitude? We weren't even disrespectful! Just calm down and turn a blind eye to us being -18 like every other place. This is why Terrace is better. There was water gushing down from ceiling to floor at the front of the theater during a recent rainstorm. The staff had put a pile of plastic down to catch it but it was splashing loudly and it was unnerving to see water coming down the walls. I felt unsafe. I let the manager know that it was really pouring in, and she claimed to not know anything about it. This was obviously untrue as there was a tarp laid down to catch the water. Some friends and I have a tradition of seeing stupid comedy/horror movies together. Recently, we saw Violent Night and Cocaine Bear. Regal Palmetto Grande is our theatre of choice. You can pick your seat when you buy a ticket online, so we all sit together. With the rewards program, if you go on a Tuesday, the movie is only $6, and you get a discount on popcorn. The theatre sells beer and wine, although the varieties are limited to tall cans and mostly mainstream brands rather than local choices. The "Box Office" seems to be a thing of the past, so you purchase or redeem tickets at the concession stand now. For some reason, the staff do not like to make a batch of popcorn unless a lot of folks are in line pre-movie, so order your popcorn before the show. Don't expect to get it after your movie starts. The theatre was very clean, and the staff were as nice as one could expect. In Mount Pleasant Towne Center, you've got plenty of parking as well as restaurants to dine before or after your movie. read more

Did I just time warp back into a 1970s movie theater (if those even existed). I expect better from Regal cinemas. This movie theater is very run down, the chairs in our theater (9) were old, dirty and didn't recline. While I thoroughly enjoyed Deadpool and Wolverine, the comfort level was extremely lacking. With so many people coming back to the movies it's time for a major upgrade to this theater, especially in such a high income area. read more

I'm so happy they have opened up. They are designating seats so it's best to purchase tickets online ahead of time. The place is spotlessly clean. All screens are open. No masks are enforced and seating is not spaced out. It's all side by side. Hardly anyone was wearing a mask inside the theater and we felt very uncomfortable. We thought the building was great, the seats were comfortable, the expensive popcorn was good, and the movie WE WENT TO SEE (A Complete Unknown- Bob Dylan) was great. However, we will not go back to this theatre because they played at least 30 minutes of ads and EXTREMELY VIOLENT and long previews of other movies we would never go see. Poor experience all around. Went to movie on 12/7 around 2pm and the theatre was filthy. Popcorn all over the floor main lobby and halls. Spilled drinks, sticky flooring. Run down theatre seats with tares and squeaks. You could hear the other movie next door the whole time which takes a lot away from a movie experience. Also- concessions had no napkins and they had set out a massive roll of bathroom towels which by the way are not in any of the bathrooms. If this theatre wants people to come to the movies they need to do better. I will not be back anytime in the near future. I'll wait to stream any movie in interested in seeing at home. read more

Im not one to write reviews ever. Pretty inside and out but walking down my isle in theatre 5 I found 5 broken chairs that slide around when your sitting. It's like being at the office all over again! Also just have to mention this and maybe Im just poor but a combo for large popcorn, drink, and a small candy is $29. There is what seems to be a leaking AC unit in the ceiling of theater 10 and water is literally pouring out of it and they just have a bucket on the ground to catch it. People had to sit underneath it and you can see the ceiling tiles bowing and bending under the weight of the water that is surely going to bust through any minute. It also smells terrible back there. The AC has never worked properly probably because it's leaking! I was genuinely scared that we were going to witness the ceiling collapse. read more

Staff is all over the place. 20 minute wait in the snack line at a 6:30 movie Smells like someone rubbed an old urinal cake over the entire inside of the building Popcorn, the one thing that a theatre should absolutely nail, managed to be stale, fresh, cold and hot all at the same time. Disclaimer: this review is highly likely to be clouded by a veil of nostalgia and bliss. It had been nearly 24 months since my husband and I went to a movie. Walking into the lobby, that overly powerful smell of buttery and salty popcorn smacks you in the face and you're immediately transported back to the 1990's (at least I am). Overpriced concessions, popcorn on the carpet, chilly theater rooms... I LOVED ALL OF IT! I nearly cried with joy at being back to doing "normal" things like going to the movies for a date night with my husband. On a more serious note, this is your basic movie theater. It's good for it's purpose, nothing special. The young men on staff that night were all pleasant and respectful, and we found the facilities to be clean and tidy, albeit a bit old. I don't go to the movies often and I don't think I've been to a movies since COVID but I did want to see the Barbie movie (their marketing wooed me in) and my friend suggested this one since she lived close by. I ordered my tickets online but there was still a mile long wait and the concession stands were no different, so I do wish they had better crowd control. Inside the theatre though, I was so surprised at how big and comfy the seats were. It definitely is one of my favorite theatres in the area. Just go on a day when they aren't so packed. read more

We went in Christmas Day Eve. We got there about 15 minutes early. By that time, the theatre had not been cleaned. We had to brush off the debris we found on the seats, which was all over the isles and other seats. Staff came in 5 minutes later and did a quick pass-by. The preview time lasted 35 minutes. That's not a an exaggeration. I was plenty ready by the time the movie started. And so were others in the theatre. I doubt much has been done since this theatre has opened. I have deleted my account with Regal, boycott all cinema halls of their chain and urge others do the same. They do not treat customers well and express no interest on retaining them, they are not proactive about addressing their issues and customers' concerns. My spouse and I went to Oppenheimer movie in August 2023 in Charleston. During the showtime we realized ACs were not working, people started to leave the Regal sauna, some were barely conscious and left the movie hall with help of others. Instead of offering free tickets for another time to the customer who suffered, they only did reimbursement for those who left the hall halfway through the film. No apologies or follow up actions. This kind of companies should not function and they would not had people more respect to themselves. read more

Loved where the theatre was located, but could be a little cleaner. I was there for the first show time, so it didn't have a chance to get messy. The multiple commercials were repeated, the movie previews and Regal Cinema promos (multiple) went on for 37 min before the movie actually started. The crowd applauded when the movie finally started. Not sure if there was a problem starting the movie, but if not - that is way too long to sit and watch TV commercials. We go to the movies to have a break from TV commercials. read more

We visited the Regal Palmetto Grande and I really don't know what to say - the closest thing we can compare this to is a $4.25 ticket AMC in a half demolished and otherwise vacant mall we used to go to (because the tickets were so cheap). This Regal gets two stars vs one because at least it didn't have the urine smell or trek through the ghost mall we would deal with for cheap tickets. The concession area is dated and dirty then for some reason the theatre hasn't updated to recliners that everyone is putting in across the country. $10-$13 a ticket is what newer places with large seats and recliners charge. Hopefully they either renovate this or something else opens in Mt Pleasant. read more
