My dog was at Regal Pet Resort for eight days. While in their care they reported that they ran out of food for him. I measure his food for each day so he should not have been out. They wanted to charge $8.00 / day for their food. I had my son take by food. When I picked him up he seemed fine. The next day he begin coughing and throwing up white, foamy, slimy liquid that continued all morning. Could not eat or drink without throwing up. Took him to the vet. All his shots and vaccines were updated even his BORDETELLA which had 2 months before expiration. I will never take my dog there again. They take in too many dogs and things are not communicated to owners. I believe they ran out of my dogs food because he was throwing up and it was not noted! read more

I was provided a general summary and minimal records, but no detailed documentation showing consistent monitoring or condition checks. I was also informed that the facility had spoken with my veterinarian and referenced certain statements. When contacted the veterinary office directly, they clarified what information they could share and did not confirm those statements. The facility maintains that no issues were observed during the stay. However, given the timing of the illness and the absence of detailed documentation, this raised concerns for me. Great place to leave your dog and feel completely safe. I get my dogged groomed here, he does daycare, and has stayed here overnight when I have to leave town. We've used Regal Pet Resource since 2010 or so and they've been fine. Four or five years ago they started collecting a deposit for boarding, which I understand. They shouldn't be penalized simply because their clients are flakes. However, clawing those deposits back when you cancel well in advance of the reservation can be very challenging. They have a 72 hour cancellation policy and both of our cancellations have been at least 13 days in advance. You'd think the refund would be automatic, but you have to email, call, and cajole them multiple times before they'll hand over the deposit. Fool me once, well. Fool me twice... we've promoted ourselves to former customers. read more

My dog recently boarded at this kennel from 12/19/2016-12/30/2016. At the time we arrived I had specific instructions in regards to feeding and administering my dogs medication. I asked to speak to a manager to go over my requests. The lady checking me in advised me she was the manager of the kennel so everything was explained to her and she assured everything would be taken care of. My instructions were very clear and simple. I left individual food baggies in order, labelled with day of the week, date and time (whether morning or evening) they should be given to my dog. Medicine was portioned and inserted in the food baggies so that no extra work needed to be done aside from following directions. Instructions were again printed on the sides of our food container to ensure it was followed. Upon arrival today to pick my dog up there were 3 bags of food with random dates indicating it was given to her out of order. My specific instructions were told to the manager as well as written clearly on her food crate. If she had not finished her breakfast to throw it out and replace it with her dinner bag each night as there is medication in every bag as well as a treat to entice her to eat at night time. I spoke to owner Janet who informed me this person who said they were a manager was indeed not a manager and also had been fired within the time period of my dog boarding. (Okay at least that was resolved and there is nothing we can do about that.) I asked if that woman was the only person in charge of feeding my dog? She advised me several people were in charge of feeding my dog yet no one read the instructions each time they reached in for a bag... In conclusion, she advised me there was nothing she could do. I asked her what am I supposed to do next time I go on vacation? Where am I going to be able to take my dog and feel confident that the people they pay have to ability to follow simple directions? It is important that my dog gets her medication. Janet told me she understands if this incident severs our relationship. So basically there is no guarantee there will be measures taken to ensure this doesn't happen in the future? Is anything going to be done? She is making "notes in my account" but what does that even mean? She made no attempt at mending our relationship or making me feel better about what happened. I feel the employees at this kennel are incompetent and unqualified for their jobs. I feel it is the owner's responsibility to ensure each animal is receiving the correct feeding, medicine, treatment...etc... I pay them $400 and they can't even follow simple directions. I have worked for a boarding facility before and I am beyond disgusted with my experience using Regal Pet Resort. I assure you we will never again use this facility and I will be spreading the word. read more

What a great place this is!! My Maggie comes home tired from Doggie daycare, which is what we hope for. That means she exercised and played. Everybody has been so nice. We are from another state, so finding this clean and cute place was important to us. It fits our ever need. Maggie needed her nails trimmed and it a tough job to do, she is not a fan. They're so sweet with her, holding her and cutting one, then hold her and cutting again. Thank you doesn't express how good that feels not to traumatized her about her nail trimming. NEVER Again- Just picked up my dog from a Memorial Day weekend stay and Despite being told we would not be charged for Monday because they were closed and pickup was not an option- we were charged anyway. The owner, Carol admitted that I was misinformed by one of her employees but refused to handle the situation appropriately and charged us anyway. Poor business practice in my opinion and won't be using them again. I also want to add- if you request a report of what times your dog was checked on or fed- it's not their "business practice" to take note of that. That's a problem! I have taken my dog to Regal for almost 5 years and have always been so, so happy with them! I've never once worried about my dog when leaving him for grooming, doggy day care, or boarding. They've always gone out of their way to make sure he is happy and healthy! I love that they are so strict on immunizations -- I don't have to worry about my Cooper being around any dogs that may not be up to date. Some reviews mention price, but just remember that you get what you pay for. And you are paying for people who truly love your dog and will treat them like family. I just moved about 4 hours away from Lubbock and started looking for a new groomer closer to home -- unfortunately, I will have to face the sad reality that I won't find another place like Regal! read more

We have used Regal for 5 years with no issues. TodAy I called to set a stay and was told there was a 50.00 reservation fee. I was told that the stay would be deducted from the 50.00 and the remainder would go to my account. I said no it was not like that before and was told new policy due to people canceling even though I had never done so. I told them I would not be using their facility because of this policy. Later I get an email where they went ahead and made a reservation, had to call back and tell them to cancel that I made it clear I would not be using them. I guess they had planned to charge my card on file. Not good practice. read more

Our pets LOVE the Regal Pet Resort! We have a 1yr old Lab and a 4yr old Brittany Spaniel. Before we adopted the Brittany, we used lots of regal services for our lab. We first took her to another "kennel" in Lubbock and I cried the whole time she was there because it was dirty and I knew she was not happy. BUT after discovering Regal we have never taken our pets anywhere else! Todd and his family/staff are amazing and such great people. They love animals and you can tell by the way they run their business. We often took our lab for their "daycare" services so she could enteract with other dogs. They are great about getting information about your animal and careful to choose which other animals they can play with. She loved visiting her "friends" at regal and would get so excited when we got past 100th street because she knew where we were headed! Everytime I picked her up she was happy and tired! Which I SO appreciated! We use their weekend kennel services and it is fantastic. The prices are a little steep which is the only reason I gave them 4 stars. They are attentive when you bring in your animal and really get to know you and your animals. They always wrote down any notes I gave them for bones/treats/meds etc. I never worried about our dogs while they stayed at regal- I knew they were being well taken care of! Todd always knows our pups and us when we come in and is very patient with our sometimes hyper pups! They are also great about keeping records of the shots and such, Todd even called to remind me one week that our pup needed a second immunization for an upcoming stay! :) I can't say enough great things about Regal- they are truely a home away from home for our dogs and they love a trip to see Todd and the staff. Wish I could give less than 1 star! I used to like this place but after the previous owner sold it to her daughter and husband, both my grandmother and myself were treated horribly by the son n law. Unfriendly staff. I adopted a weirmer mix from West Texas Humane Society and the previous owner would let my dog play with others. The new owner said my dog looks like a pit so they said she can't play with other dogs. None of the paperwork says she's pit but this man judged my sweetest ever dog who only likes to go to play with other dogs. He discriminated against my dog based on what he thinks she is. Don't go here! That man treated my grandmother horribly. Go to Tipton Pet Hotel instead! read more

I read every review of this place on Yelp, Google, Facebook before I went ahead and boarded my dogs there. I chose to ignore negatives and just felt the negative reviews were just difficult people maybe. I even asked many friends that use the place and all said my girls would be fine. It was absolutely the worst experience my girls have ever had. I've been boarding my dogs their whole lives on many occasions...all have been boarded many times before this in different venues and I have NEVER picked them up in the condition they were last night. They were unhurt and clean but I think they experienced SO much neglect and were so scared and stressed being SO alone with zero human contact of any kind that they all came home with diarrhea and one vomited as well all night. One couldn't stop pooping at home like she had held it ALL weekend. I realize they have connecting poop yards w doggie doors but theres no way they let mine out in the real yard while they cleaned that area...there couldnt have been anything to clean ..I cleaned for 24 straight hours once home. And I knew when I dropped off and not one employee even greeted my dogs or asked which one was which since they've never met them that it was a bad deal...they just took the leashes and marched them to the back. Someone on a review said it was like leaving them in a prison....could not agree more. When we picked up..my husband went in with me to check it out....again... marched the girls right out and said nothing..no thank you, come again, sweet girls, little stinkers......NOTHING!! My husband said if they treated our girls like they just did us when I paid out then this is not the place for us. We got No thank you no nothing for $240...nothing. I wasnt going to call and complain until 24hrs later I'm still cleaning diarrhea. Called and asked for manager or owner because an ass chewing was coming. Girl said.. I'm the only one here so I'll just take that ass chewing. She Said I didnt pay for extra one on one attention so basically too bad my girls were all sick and distressed...well hell no I didnt pay for extra...we just need common courtesy and a gentle head pat or something. I told her I felt my girls were beyond neglected and to pass that message along to those in charge. Of course I got zero callback. I pray I never need their services ever again. read more

Just picked up my dog after she stayed over one of the hottest weekends and she was extremely whiny because she was hot and very thirsty.

My dog stayed there for 1 night over spring break & then has been going twice a week for daycare just so he can play and have fun while I'm at work since he's so sociable and playful. Every time I dropped him off or picked him up they'd act like everything was great and take my money for daycare as well as toys and treats I'd get for my rotten baby. He is still very young & hyper but has loved people and other dogs. Last week when I went to pick him up, an older female worker came from around the counter staring there had been an "incident". My 1st thought was he'd rolled over trying to make friends with another dog and they might have been aggressive and he got hurt but to my surprise, she pulled out her cell phone and proceeds to show me a picture of the back of a hand that had a scratch a few inches long going between 2 knuckles and up the middle of a hand that clearly belonged to an older female. She then said he was "aggressive " & when I argued that jumping on someone to try to play isn't aggressive, she stated he had been aggressive towards employees before including even biting at them. I know my dog very well and he doesn't bite people and of all 6 dogs in my home, he is the least aggressive! She continued to try To convince me that my dog is aggressive and Bite and is and controllable then told me that they talked to the owner and he stated that until he'd had some obedience training they would be unable to keep him any longer. I advised her he has had solo bedient's training in which he got along with all of the dogs in his class and everyone loved him. He passed with flying colors and I was told at the end if they had a special certificate for the most improved he would have received it.Basically because he is an American Staffordshire mixed-breed, they are discriminating against my furbaby and no matter the circumstance I would not recommend this location unless you have a small or very laid back dog who is trained to just sit and look pretty but not play and jump and run like dogs are meant to do. read more

I have been taking my Great Dane, Bella, to Regal Pet resort for the past six months for doggie day care. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful with drop-off and pick-up, if you are a regular, they will always greet your dog with love! Bella is always excited and ready to play when we arrive and has never shown any negative or suspicious behavior during drop-off or pick-up. I have yet to board my dog here, but I feel very comfortable and trusting of this facility with Bella. I will say, I wish the dogs were out of the kennels/patios more often during daycare, but it is completely understandable with so many dogs, there have to be multiple group according to size, temperament, and so on. We have taken our dog to Regal for boarding for the last 1.5 years, and we love it there. Yes, it might be a little bit pricey, but it is worth the peace of mind! I call them everyday to check in; they go see how he is doing and report back about his eating and whether he has been playing or resting. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that each dog has their own indoor and outdoor space, so my dog can go to the bathroom whenever he wants and get fresh air as often as he pleases. They have lots of add-ons that we don't usually get, but when we boarded him for our wedding, we had them send us a text picture of him, and they even put a bow on him for the pic! Let me begin this review by stating that I live in Amarillo and drive to Lubbock to board my dog. It is, obviously, a long commute, but the care of my dog is THE most important thing to me, so I drive an hour and 45 minutes to get him to the best. I can take flights out of Lubbock just as easily as I can Amarillo, right? I have also taken him with me several times for daycare when I go to Lubbock to see friends. I've never had anything but a PERFECT experience there. The owners are perfectly happy to do any and everything they can to assure your peace of mind, give your dog the care that you want, and assure the safety of your pet. The facility is beyond reproach. The suites are large, sparkling clean, and comfy for my Lab and he is seen to with loving kindness from all who come into contact with him. He has a blast (they've taken pictures of him playing for me) and he comes home happy and tired. The litmus test is Luke's reaction upon entering...he pulls away from me to get to whoever is staffing the front and cannot wait to be taken to his suite. I cannot recommend Regal Pet Resort highly enough. I wish they were closer to Amarillo, but no distance is too far for the kind of care my Luke receives at their hand.
