My Velcro dogs have never been kenneled. We went on a cruise and our dog sitter was not available. My gut told me this was the right place and I was correct. Blue Sky Kennels was wonderful. I called every day and my dogs were having a great time. The grounds and beds were immaculately clean. Everyone there treated our very needy bird dogs like family and they were well adjusted and well cared for. When you drive up to the kennels, it looks like a camp for dogs - beautiful trees, sculptures and buildings. They get to stay inside and play outside. Both my dogs have stayed there up to 10 days at a time. I don't have any complaints. My dogs seems happy when we arrive.

Absolutely love Blue Sky. It's the only place I take my baby. Everytime I come to get her after being gone she seems so happy. They have quite a bit of land they let them run around on. Facility has been renovated and the kennels are a very good size. Large enough for me to bring her favorite large pillow and toys. They always answer back texts quickly!! I imagine that in a world where dogs talk all the dogs who have ever stayed here would beg their parents to bring them back. The one dog I've brought here (twice) was jumping all over the place with excitement as soon as we pulled in the driveway. That has got to be a huge vote for this place. To clarify, it is not my dog but I know that he has stayed here a handful of time (4 or 5?). Angie and Aaron are both always so kind and helpful. I can tell they enjoy the dogs and treat them with kindness as well. They seem sensitivity to the dogs and that fact that they are likely uncomfortable and scared leaving their owners. It's really comforting to know that your dogs are in great hands. The kennel is a little out of the way but well worth it to know that your babies are being well taken care of. read more

I would put 6 stars but on here I'm only allowed 5 stars. I absolutely love Blue Sky Kennels. My husband and I moved to the Lubbock area from Utah about a year ago. With my work and his work schedule we had to board our baby girl (GSD) a few times. We found blue sky Kennels we always worry about boarding her, because we always hear about bad things happening (at other pet hotels). But with Blue Sky not a single thing to worry about. The family that runs it is absolutely amazing and sweet. When we show up with our baby girl gets so excited. They really learn how each fur baby is and their personalities. I highly recommended this place! If your pup is excited when they see the kennel you know you're dropping them off somewhere great. read more

Lovely place! The guy who owns the place is super nice and genuinely cares for the dogs. Each staff member greets dogs by name and the facility is very well kept. I used to work at a prestigious kennel back home and this kennel lives up to my expectations and then some. I was so worried to leave my baby at a new kennel, but I'm super happy to have found Blue Sky! read more

Clean with good on demand communications (quick answers when you call). Staff was nice and the facility is beautiful. One of our dogs lost a fair amount of weight, but she is moody and does not like being away from home. Her brother (same breed) stayed with her and he was great. They are our new default doggie jail. read more

We love Blue Sky Kennels. We've used another place to board our 3 med/large dogs and they were NOT happy when we picked them up. When we went back to the other place, the dogs would not get out of the car - we had to literally pick them up (95lb dog was very difficult!). At Blue Sky, the dogs are excited to get out of the car. They are also always happy to see us at pickup time, but only after they do a quick nose-bump to all care givers. This tells me they are happy being there. Blue Sky also bathes our dogs now! They are truly amazing. We won't use anyone else, ever. read more

Just picked up my Sweet Chip from Blue Sky Kennels and I think he was a little sad to leave! This place has a lot of room for dogs to play outside and the owners are all super friendly. I was hesitant to leave my puppy with someone I really didn't know but I read other reviews online that loved this place so we gave it a shot. As a first time pet owner in college leaving your dog for spring break is always tough and this company made it the thing I worried about the least. I showed up and the owner knew Luna by name already which let my worries leave me. With two gated yards that have enough room to run around and loving care from everyone who works it was the perfect place. I will definitely be using them again it was a wonderful place with caring people. read more

My dogs love this place but when I tried to board them over the weekend-drop off Saturday, pick up Sunday-they told me I could pick them up on Sunday but would have to pay for an EXTRA NIGHT because they are closed on Sunday and someone would have to drive over to let me pick them up...crazy! I could understand charging a small fee like some other places do, but I was not about to pay for Sunday night when I planned to pick them up at noon. It's a terrible policy that I hope they will change. Plus, I don't understand how no one could be around on Sundays. How are the dogs being fed on that day, or let out to play like they advertise?? read more

These folks are wonderful! Aaron really cares about animals, you can tell just by watching and listening to him. He took such patience and care in handling two dogs that were boarded at Blue Sky (---the animals had been surrendered from a really awful situation and we needed a place for them to stay). For almost 2 weeks the kennel took excellent care of the dogs and when I picked the dogs up, I was amazed at how happy and energetic they appeared. Aaron, Abby, and their dad, Darrell, accepted the dogs and their special situation and took the challenge of caring for these dogs when we really did not know how the dogs would react in a new setting. I am so appreciative of their patience and understanding. The place is very inviting, the grounds are lovely, and kennels are very clean. I met one handler who was so kind and gentle, and the family members who all work together in this effort are kind, honest, genuine. My animals are everything to me, and I would not consider leaving them just anywhere. I am so impressed that I intend to board my own dogs at Blue Sky very soon. read more
