I just took my two dogs there for a full groom. The grooms themselves are really nice and the cuts look great. BUT my poodle has razor burn all over his body. He has it all over his belly, and his face. His face has cuts all over, and is extremely upsetting. This isn't an untrained dog when it comes to grooming either, he has been groomed regularly (every 6 weeks) since he was about 12 weeks old. I have had a few times where he gets razor burn on his belly and I was willing to overlook it until I looked at his face and there are puncture marks from the razor under his eyes. There was a lack of care taken for my dogs eagerly and overall I would not return. Update: spoke to the owner today, and she took full accountability for the huge mistake and did her best to make the situation better. If he needed vet care she offered to pay for it. Overall I would recommend the shop because of the accountability of the owner but I would not recommend Melissa to do your dogs. read more

Have gone on three separate occasions two of which were scheduled ahead of time over the phone. Those two times I was forced to make a new time when I arrived which caused my dog to be kept 2-3 hours longer than was quoted. One of the visits this establishment left my dogs halter collar and leash inside the cage with my dog both of which were destroyed. I was told the price of both would be refunded by taking off of the price on the next visit which was not. The last time I took my dog there she was covered in urine and the employees had the nerve to tell me she urinated on herself when I know my dog has no problem of the sort. I will never give this establishment my business again and will be going elsewhere in the future. read more

I was incredibly disappointed with the service my dog received at Dog Gone Beautiful. She went in for a bath and nail clipping. The groomer cut one of her so short she bled for around 20 minutes. The staff did not apologize and were quite rude. I will not return and do not recommend anyone spend their money here. My friend took his dog here for grooming and after they finished, they locked the dog in a cage and forgot about him. They left him there all day and proceeded to lock and close the store with him still there (provided no food and water). Luckily my friend arrived and got them to release the dog as the were closing up. They offered no compensation for their error and actually said that they don't care about getting bad reviews because they already have so many good ones. I would recommend NOT bringing your dog here. They are horrible. read more

Worst cut and service ever! I should have listened to the previous review. The cut is not what we had spoken about when I dropped her off. I payed $90 for a shave I could have done better on. To top the awful cut, they never called that she was ready. Dropped her off at 9:30 and went in at 4:30 since that's when they close and I still hadn't received a call. Even after hearing some mixed reviews about this place I decided to go ahead and try it (that was a mistake). I called ahead to make an appointment and get a quote on how much a grooming session would be for our labradoodle. This price was reasonable so I made an appointment and took him in. I made it pretty clear as to what I wanted (basically a bath, brushing, and some trimming up around the face). I came back a few hours later to check on our pup because we had called and gotten no answer. I arrived and the lady went back to get our dog and man I was DOG GONE shocked. Our labradoodle was completely shaved except for the head. I made it very clear that all I wanted was a bath and brushing with some touch ups around the face (I did not want a lot of hair cut since after all Winter is coming). When I confronted the groomer about the awful job she said that there were no instructions left for her for our dog. I'm assuming this means that whoever I spoke to on the phone did not bother to leave any notes for our dog. Also, let me make clear that our dog did not have any matted hair, which is why sometimes groomers will shave. I then spoke to another lady who was extremely rude. After reading other reviews left by fellow yelpers it seems like there is no communication that goes on at this place (I saw a review about somebody's dog being left in a cage because the workers forgot about it). It has been a couple days and our dog seems to be experiencing some issues with his self confidence after such an awful cut. This is especially noticeable around female dogs as he seems to always have his tail between his legs. We also had to go buy him some sweaters because he was getting so cold now that he has no hair. I have a shizo mix. I have taken my dog to Dog Gone Beautiful 2 times. I took Layla there after seeing what a good job the groomers there did on a friend's dog. And how friendly they were. The first time they cut my little girl's hair it was shorter than I wanted but I was other wise happy. Thinking if I was more clear they'd do a better job grooming her I took her back a 2nd time. They completely buchered her little face! Cut all her bangs off and shaved her nose and around her eyes. I asked for a VERY light trim on her body and they cut over 1/2 her length off. I am not the dog owner that let's her baby get matted. She was clean and we'll brushed when I took her! The shaved her back side as well! Now she has a pink Target on her butt! I have never had such a bad experience at any business establishment compared to this one. I took my dog for a grooming appointment at 12pm. Receptionist was rude and unhelpful. When dropping off my dog, everyone working there seemed extremely unorganized but decided to try them out. After 4 hours of not hearing from them, I decided to call. Receptionist said "I have no idea when your dog will be ready, they haven't started." I stated, do you know when she will be ready? She stated, "no I don't know that information. She'll be ready when she's ready." Extremely bad customer service. I waited until 5:45 and still nothing. I called again and stated I would be picking up my dog at 6pm ready or not. The bath was $38. UNTIL the next day which the staff added themselves an additional tip of $10 onto the transaction even though I did not tip due to my experience. After calling the following day to correct the matter, the receptionist, one of those working AND the owner gave no sense of apology or explanation. They were abrasive and absolutely rude. The receptionist and other workers who didn't have the common knowledge to silence the phone or put me on a formal hold, continued to talk shit about me not knowing I could still hear because of my frustration which was handled very calmly until this point where I was being talked about horribly simply because I called to get a charge fixed that was not authorized in the first place! Extremely irresponsible, fraudulent, and unacceptable. After an additional 20 minute conversation getting ONLY the $10 refunded even after speaking to the owner and her admitting to giving such a bad experience, I will never be back. I was appalled by the professionalism of this business and it's owners. After reading other reviews, it's apparent this was not an isolated case as others have been wrongfully charged after the fact, I assume in the attempt to think people won't notice, as well as the extreme distaste of those answering the phones. Do not go to this place, it's not worth it or expect to maybe get a call when your dog is ready after 6 hours and get wrongfully charged after the fact two days later. read more

I have used many groomers in Lubbock for my miniature schnauzer. Every time, at all the others,they try to shave the skirt off by saying its too matted or some other reason. When i took my dogs to Dog Gone Beautiful, i expected the same. Dropped them off and waited. Later on in the day they CALLED me and told me my dogs were ready for pick up however if i wasn't ready they didnt close till four and the dogs would be walked, fed, and safe for when I was ready for them. Who does that? That was awesome! When i came to pick them up I was so supprised that they took extra time to keep their skirt. They looked show worthy. While i was there i watched them help an elderly person take his dog and load it in his car. They were supper nice. If you have a dissability all you have to do is get the dog there and they will take care of the rest. Loading and unloading, they will help. I have NEVER been more happy with the outcome of my dogs.
