Have I been living in a hole? Or have such comfortable theatre seats ALWAYS been in existence? Because my mind was absolutely blown when I discovered they have straight-up reclining La-Z boys for every movie-goer here. Tickets were also priced like any other movie ticket, so it was quite an unexpected luxury; I was impressed to say the least. BUT, since these chairs are twice the size of normal theatre seats, their capacity per theater is a lot smaller so individuals showings sell out quickly and if you don't get to your movie well ahead of start time, you will end up in the front row like I did, which was certainly suboptimal. However, am still very pleased by the reclining seats with the footrest nonetheless. The previews seemed ridiculously long. I'm usually a big fan of trailers, but even I got a little tired of it by the time the feature presentation started. Parking was a mess when I was here. Both parking ticket dispensing machines broke down, so no one can actually get into the (half empty) parking lot. Fortunately, found street parking right by the entrance. read more

Reclining chairs are awesome and comfortable here! I appreciate that we can reserve our seats in advance similar to the theater at the Roosevelt Collection. Each chair also has a small swivel desk for patrons to set their food/belongings. I also love the 3D and closed captioning eyeglass experience. Downsides are: 1) sound is not as crisp as the sound system at Showplace Icon at the Roosevelt Collection 2) picture screen is not as big as the Roosevelt Collection's screen 3) No free parking -- but it's okay since I normally take public transit or uber --- and possibly 4) if you like to have the arm-rest lifted and snuggle with the person next to you, then you're SOL... you can't / won't want to do this anyways b/c the fluffy reclining chair is just too amazing! read more

I've read the reviews and yeah it's not the most state-of-the-art theater in town but me and SO - lol- we're old and lazy and we like places that don't have huge lines and a fussy staff. This theater has become an extension of our living room with its recliner lazyboy seats. What's perfect is you can reserve your seat so it means we can leave the house almost putting us at the movie start time. I've rarely been here and seen a crowd. It does the job. Now if you're looking for IMAX or SHDX or Ultra Dolby where the theater vibrates and the seats move during a CGI action sequence, this isn't your spot. If you want to grab a movie and a comfortable setting, no-frills, this is your spot. Like your neighborhood bar where everyone knows your name Regal Webster Place is the spot for you. I came here on Thursday to watch Star Trek with the boy. I parked in the parking lot. BIG MISTAKE. I thought it was free validated parking just like Regal on Western. NOPE. We got 2 tickets and handed our parking ticket. She charged us $6! We saw 2 movies so we paid an extra $5. It's a small movie theater compared to Showplace Icon. We went in the middle of the day so it wasn't very busy at all. Pretty clean. Be warned. Park at the lot next to the parking garage exit for free parking! But next time I'm just going to drive the extra couple of miles and go to Regal on Western. read more

You know I wanted to like these theaters because it's such a great are. However I just can't give this place 4-5 star rating. The theater itself is basically located at Clybourn and Western right in the heart of a lot of stuff. There is limited street parking, but a very large parking garage right there. It's usually about $10 to park, but if you validate, it's $5. The theaters are smaller and popular movies sell out, so I would buy tickets ahead of time to avoid missing the show. Now my big problem is the bar. I can deal with a crummy pour (which they do) and overpriced drinks ($11 for a small glass of wine). However it's a real pain to only be able to order a drink at a time. We sat at bar and my girlfriend went to use the washroom, okay okay I will wait until she can come back and show ID. We then go into the movie theater. Midway through I come out to buy us each a second glass. However the bartender is only able to serve one glass at a time. Well that stinks. Okay can you pour and ring me up for two glasses and I will bring one in, come back and get the other, nope can't do that either. I mean that's a little extreme in my opinion. So I paid for one, came back and paid for another. The other issues are the bathrooms, ewwww. It's okay to send an employee in there every now and again to clean up. The reclining seats are cool, but something about this place doesn't quite sit right with me. read more

If I'm paying 30 bucks to see a movie for two people, I EXPECT PARKING TO BE FREE. This ain't downtown... gtfo with that paying for parking horse****. Plenty of nice places to go that don't charge for parking. We won't be coming back until it's free parking for theater goers. Theater is okay, but freezing then hot then freezing. Love this theatre. The seats are extremely comfortable. Just be careful you don't fall asleep during the movie. Highly recommend if you want to see a movie and have space to spread out. I regularly come to this Regal on discount night because let's be honest, movie ticket prices in the city are so high that I'd rather spend my Friday's drinking $3 shots of Malort (just kidding but prices really are high).. Overall this is a good theater, the recliner seats are very comfy and the theaters are clean. Even on discount night it's never super packed and lines run pretty fast. Maybe 3/5 stars is harsh to give just on one aspect but seriously the popcorn here sucks big time. If you're the kind of person who comes to the movies and gets a hot dog like a weirdo then you're in the clear, but like most people I like fresh popcorn when I watch a movie. I don't know if it's that their popcorn isn't fresh, or the don't use enough salt and butter, or what but it always tastes old and no matter how much liquid "butter" I drown it in, it's just gross. If you're going to go out for a movie and like popcorn my advice is either 1) sneak a bag of your own in here or 2) find another place to go. read more

I love coming here and always have but this review is mainly focused on the bar. I had the worst experience when I went to see Queen. I was looking forward to this for weeks! The bar was not crowded and everyone had a drink so we found a spot and waited patiently. A guy moments later arrived and was taken care of. We continued to wait in front of the bar tenders for another 5 minutes when another couple shows up and they are given wrist bands. At this point I grow frustrated and approach the lady handing out the wristbands. "Hey miss, sorry but we've been waiting over here. Are we supposed to get a wrist band first? She then looked at me up and down and said "please wait to be attended! I walked back and this lady proceeded to attend others and ignore me. I walked away very upset and unsatisfied with the service. Worst service ever!!! read more

We made the UNTHINKABLE mistake of pulling into the parking LOT instead of the GARAGE. Mind you, there are clear signs (at least nothing you can see in a downpour) saying you can't park there & there is nothing in the theatre that says so either. It cost us $20. The theatre is only slightly less trashy than the one on Western. I'll stick to Evanston & Muvico. Clean theaters, free parking, better service. read more

People are already raving over the seats, which are definitely my favorite part of this theater. Reclining means it's actually not so terrible to sit in the front! And if you buy tickets late for a movie you might have to... seats get picked when you buy tickets. But that means everyone's overlooking that the popcorn here tastes AMAZING! POPCORN, guys. Just popcorn. Without butter-flavored-liquid. I don't even like popcorn... but once you've eaten enough of the redenbachers or the popsecrets, trust me, you'd know. Not sure how long they have Tuesday specials, but $6 and cheap popcorn. If you're lucky, street parking like a block or so away in the more residentilal streets is free. Otherwise, economy lot $2 or $5.50 for right next door. That sums up Regal Webster pretty well I think... I'd come here even if it's not sometimes the closest movie theater to me. read more

Merciful Minerva! these seats are nice! Came here to support Wonder Woman on opening weekend, and reserving the tickets and choosing seats online was super easy. I got a QR code sent to my phone, I just scanned it in at the theater and went on in. They have a rewards app that gives you a free small popcorn when you join, so I used that as well. When I sat in the seats, I was already impressed. Once I started to recline the seats, I was in awe. Considering it was hot af outside, the theater wasn't as icy cold as I expected it to be, but it would have been perfect to bring a blanket or throw in to get nice and cozy. I love that the trays swivel in and out for maximum coziness/laziness. Parking isn't free with validation which is a bummer, but I was able to get some free street parking. Also it seems that the parking for the theatre only has two entrances, so if you miss one, you gotta circle back. Tuesdays are their discount ticket days, so I plan on coming back and seeing whatever summer blockbuster soon! read more

It's been at least 6 years since I'd been to this theater and I love the changes. I've been to two movies here in the last month and I'll probably stick with them. Why? The recliner seats are great but the audience is, shockingly for this city, mature! Both movies people were quiet and attentive and simply enjoying a night at the movies. I've had nothing but awful experiences over the last 2-5 years at other theaters (Logan, AMC, Regal City North, amazingly - Music Box) and this restored my faith in humanity. Imagine, an audience that doesn't pick up their phone or chat through the whole thing! The ticket prices are a little higher but I'm good with it - cheap will always bring in the worst of people. Beyond that, the staff is friendly. You'd have to have patience having to tell every customer that it's not a touchscreen and they don't listen and tap anyway (guilty twice now.) Not sure why this place gets a bad rap at 3 stars. This is one of the theaters that has adopted abandonment of quantity in order to obtain quality. The chairs all recline and are extremely spacious to the point where you could fall asleep if you felt so inclined. The comfort level for some reason isn't as nice as the red chairs though from IKON though. As for ticket prices....I use the MoviePass so I don't really know how much tickets costs anymore. However, the street that is directly across from the entrance doesn't require payment to park (only like 4-5 spots though). Spots that are on the street perpendicular to that one are your standard payment streets that you can use the street parking app for (meaning you can park here for free for late night movies). If you want to park inside the facility there is validation to make your parking costs cheaper. Theater food and prices are the pretty standard, nothing really to complain or praise about. Overall, would definitely come here again as I do quite often. read more

I'm writing this while waiting for the movie to start and finishing it 2 months later. People need to KNOW. Unfortunately this is the last time I will ever go see a movie at this theater again. It's unfortunate because I have had a lot of good times at this theater in the past, but since so many cushy theaters have been built over the past decade I have really not had the need to go here. It just so happens they were playing a movie at the time I wanted to see it.... and if I could coordinate that movie with dinner at Pequod's Pizza what could be better?! Well I was WRONG. I should have had just the pizza and gone somewhere else for the movie. Walking into the Regal Webster I was hit by a horrible smell...the combination of mold and popcorn is overwhelming disgusting. I don't know if this place has been checked for mold...but it needs to be. Then I went to use the bathroom...my stomach is turning thinking of this... Their women's bathroom was worse then any seedy dive bar in the city. Filthy. I checked stall after stall. Each one worse than the next. Think "Trainspotting" or "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" gross. After dry-heaving and storming out of the bathroom I told some sweet girl working there that the manager needs to know how disgusting their bathrooms were and just decided to hold it. I'm ending this review by trying to click my one star and turn it into a half-star...but it looks like I cannot do this. Go to any other theater. This one is done. read more

Floor Manager on duty (we see him, all the time) is always so helpful, friendly and hands on all around the Main lobby/concession stand/bar. This was my first time seeing a movie at this theater and definitely won't be my last! I went to go see a screening of Hidden Figures here this pass Saturday. At first I was thrown off by the tinier than normal theater and I'm used to high rise stadium seating. All my worries vanished away as soon as I sat down in their comfy recliner seats. YES the seats recline ALL the way. Give me a blanket and I would of felt right at home. Lol. (There were no blankets but I did have my coat although the temp was perfect). They even have rotating tray tables and plenty of space between each seat to really let you enjoy the experience. We were able to find free street parking, but garage parking wasn't ridiculous. It was an incredible experience to see Tenet in this theater. Honestly, the staff did a great job at keeping the theater very clean. The seats are very clean and comfortable, the beer on tap was cold and the staff was quite friendly and happy to assist. Everyone had masks on when entering e theater but once I was watching the film with the lights down that many took their masks off and only put it back on to go to the bathroom or when others were passing by. Tenet was an amazing experience that was an exhilarating film visually and mentally. Would love to do it all again! read more

This was my first cinema visit after coming back from living abroad. My experience was nothing but positive. The reclining seats were super comfortable, the $18 price for a 3D film was expected, and the most surprising feature of all--assigned seating! Prior to leaving the US, all I knew was "get to the movie on time to find enough seats to sit together!" Love the reclining spacious seats. Theater has good video and sound quality. Not quite up to par with some of the best theaters I've been to, but it certainly is one of the more appealing theaters in the city. There are trays for your food or drink orders, which they will bring to your seat if you order something hot that they need to make. I've tried chicken strips there before, pretty sure they were microwaved. The wine and beer is quite overpriced, but it's a nice option. read more

This theater is kind of a clusterf*ck so it's not my theater of choice, but it'll do. On a cold and rainy Sunday, I saw "Bridesmaids" and it seems the rest of the city had the same idea. Thank god for Fandango because the lines at the box office were ridiculously long. During the screening the picture disappeared, leaving us only with sound. It took them about ten minutes to fix it, but at least the manager came in and advised us of the status, so props for that. My main annoyance is that while they offer reduced parking, they don't have automated machines to validate your ticket. You're forced to wait in another long line for them to do it manually when all you want to do is get the hell out of there. Other than that, it's pretty much like any other movie theater in the city. read more

Driving down to Beverly via Western yesterday, Jassira V. and I noticed something. Whenever a Harris Bank suddenly appeared, the neighborhood would go downhill from what we had just driven through. I'm sure Harris Bank has plenty of locations in good neighborhoods as well, but I couldn't help but say, "there goes the neighborhood, it's a Harris Bank." Thankfully Jassira isn't easily offended because they just put one up by her place. Kerasotes Theaters have a similar problem. They won't "degentrify" the neighborhood they move to or anything (and besides it would take a lot to ruin this part of Lincoln Park). But what they do is entirely drag down the theater "branch" they take over. When this theater was briefly an AMC (after its run as a Loews), it was one of the nicer one out in the neighborhoods in my opinion. Kerasotes seems to have came in and gutted it. It's still one of the most conveniently located movie houses in the city via bus (right off the Ashland) though. And the prices have actually improved (with the Five Buck Club card making evening movies a couple weeks old cheaper than matinees), including the parking being only $2.00 now on a weeknight. But even since the change over to Kerasotes, the bells and whistles of this north side theater that used to make it as nice as the downtown ones have been jettisoned one by one. It's very bare bones now, but not in a historic way like the Logan or the Davis. The ticket booth on the outside of the building is no more. Pizza has been removed from the concession stands (though they did add caramel corn). And, frankly, when I went on a Wednesday evening last week (the first time I had seen a movie there in about a year) it was deserted and a little creepy due to the movies being off in somewhat darkened wings. I live blocks away from the City North 14 but when this is the Kerasotes that gets the movie of the two, I breathe a sigh of relief. But I still miss this place as an AMC for the little things (mostly for the Movie Watcher freebies); even if the bathrooms are a little cleaner and the staff a little less annoying than those days. read more

I'd much prefer to see a movie at Showplace Icon, Regal North on Western, or Century in Evanston. The parking here is odd. The tickets and concessions area of this theater feels so cramped and small. Plus, they don't have the Coke Freestyle machines like Regal North - I love having a variety of Diet Coke flavors to choose from. We only came here because of timing, and don't think we'll be returning anytime soon for a movie here. Bonus points for being across the street from Pequod's though. Best deep dish ever! read more

Now I remember why I watch movies on my dinky laptop. This trip set my savings back to negative $600. Everything just adds up. Reserving seats $$. Parking $$$. Popcorn $$$$$$$$. Soda $$$$$$$$$$$$$. How do they even justify their prices. On a brighter note, cheapest beers were $6 and same goes for wine. I had a delicious shark cocktail for $10. But seriously $35 for the movie, $5 for parking, $20 for adult drinks, $40 in snacks (soda, popcorn, candy, pretzel) for my fiancé's fat ass. Damn, right?! Once you get over the sticker shock, you begin to acknowledge how great this place actually is. Massive fully reclining leather seats, TV trays, cup holders, lots of leg room and a bar!!!!! What a difference a little smoke and mirrors can make! After this theater began essentially falling into a shambles, its nice to see that they have nicely spiffed it up Ticket windows are inside, YAY, Escalators actually work, concession stand is well manned and organized, bathrooms are much cleaner and I love the black industrial covering on the stalls-nice deterrent for graffiti. They have also organized the exit so people weren't coming and going through the lobby while people were trying to enter. The seats are far more comfy than I remember and the theaters themselves are a lot cleaner. I also find the movie offerings to be back to what they used to be: first run. I stopped going for awhile because it became almost as bad as the City North 14. I was very impressed by the improvements! read more

I just had the BIGGEST pain-in-the-ass experience with both Fandango AND Regal Theater's websites! I started by going through Yelp to find the closest theater to us (we recently moved). I was directed to the Regal Theaters website, which kicked me off mid-payment due to an 'error'. When I attempted to choose my tickets/seats again, the website marked them as being 'unavailable'. In a panic, I checked my bank account--but nothing had been processed. This exact sequence of events happened no less than THREE TIMES, each time with an 'error' or a 'timed out session' message occurring (even though I hadn't allowed more than ten seconds to go by). When I called and actually spoke to a person at the Regal Theater, they actually suggested using Fandango instead of their website 'because it is more reliable'...WTF?? How is their OWN website not reliable?? And if they as a business are AWARE that their website is 'unreliable', then why wouldn't they fix the problem? Then Fandango's site AND app kicked me off mid-session and marked the tickets I wanted as being 'unavailable', even though they were CONFIRMED via (yet another) phone call as not being purchased AND nothing went through on my card. In this day and age of digital tech being god, both businesses need to SERIOUSLY get their act together, particularly since a large percentage of their ticket business is bought online! read more

Parking can be a crap shoot for sure. There's all sorts of signs that say "NO PARKING" yet cars are all parked there without tickets. I'm not saying don't give it a try just be warned you could end up with a ticket or even the dreaded tow. This is Chicago. As far as the theater itself goes...it's pretty standard. A little older but kept clean. Ticket prices are comparable to most other spots in the city but there's nothing really anything else that stands out about this place. It's your average movie. And it's valid on the weekends which is usually a time when all theaters raise their prices. The theater decor is a bit outdated but I have never, ever felt like anything was dirty. A lot of people seem to complain about the cleanliness of this theater but I've never had any problems whatsoever. They could stand to update the carpets and other decor because it feels like 1991 but that doesn't take away from my movie-going experience. I wish the theaters had stadium seating because I don't like being at the same level as everyone else, but I could still see no problem and the seats were comfortable. There's ample room for drinks and arms on each personal armrest and everything is very comfy. Prices are great. $5 for a movie with the card, $5.25 for a large popcorn ad $5.25 for a large drink. If you upgrade to the $6 bucket of popcorn you get free refills. YES. $5 for validated parking (do NOT forget to get it validated when you buy a ticket or it's $20 - yikes!) which is a pretty good deal for the city. I still do not understand how a place can actually get away with charging you to park AND patronize their facility but this seems to be normal and accepted in the city. I'll never get over it because I think it's a giant rip off, but the prices could be worse so I can't complain too much. Always a good deal, good theater and good movies.
