We brought our 2 year old to the movies for the first time here at regency 8 in fontana, we thought our experience would be good here since we have heard nothing but good things about this theater, we figured we'd come give it a try since it's local too, but it was the worst. We came to the 8:15 showtime on Sunday April 23, 2023, we bought the tickets which came out to around $30, we go in to get our seats and watch previews, we figured we'd just go back to get popcorn and snacks once the movie was about to start to that we can eat it while the movie goes on, I go back to get myself and my family some snacks at the snack bar, only so that this girl that works there tells me "Sorry we're closed" like REALLY?! You guys couldn't have let us know that the snack bar was gonna close at a certain time? What if someone gets thirsty and wants to buy water or hungry and wants to buy snacks during the movie?! I would have at least wanted to get a heads up. I would've gotten the snacks sooner if I would've known that their snack bar closes earlier. Why have a movie start at 8:15pm if you're just gonna close the snack bar during the movie? It's ridiculous. I would've wished they'd give us a heads up so that we can get it all beforehand. My son had a bad experience and didn't even enjoy it so we had to leave 15 minutes into the movie. I'm never coming back here again. What a sad disappointing experience we had here. read more

I love this theater. It's not pricey, close to home and the best of all is the popcorn. The popcorn here is very good everytime I come here. I also love that they have powerade. Also ask about their rewards program. read more

To give this review context, let me first say that the best movie going experience I ever had was the Rave Motion Pictures (movie theater) in Las Vegas, NV. They had the latest DLP digital projectors, and it was amazing. I went to the Ultrastar Fontana 8 because internet research led me to believe that they had the same projectors as I experienced in Las Vegas. It was a big NO. In comparison to the 2000 lines of resolution and amazing blu-ray like sharpness of Ironman 2 in the Las Vegas theater, the Ultrastar 8 Fontana had a badly repaired screen, and a fuzzy, dim quality to the images on the screen. Add to that the fact that the staff didn't clean the theater after the last movie, and you have one disappointing movie going experience. The only positive was that the A-Team movie was fun. The search continues for a local so. cal DLP theater (High Def) experience. It was so different at the Las Vegas Rave Motion Pictures movie theater. The text was crispy, the screen was bright, there were no flaws on the film.. it was perfect looking. Anyone know where to have this experience in so cal? Thank you so much for getting your act together at our local theater!!! I am so happy with the new assigned seating ... yes it was a little chaotic last night because it's new for us Fontanians! I know in the long run it's going to be amazing for everyone!! In addition concession new single line... is amazing! It is less confusing and quicker in the long run and no one is freaking out because they don't know where to go or that they won't get a seat!! Duhhh cause it's already assigned!Good job management! Ok, now this movie theater should actually receive a 1-2 star rating but its setup is reminiscence to the theater on Sweetwater Road that my friends and I use to go to back in the day, so it weaseled another star out of me. Now it could have gotten higher by just cleaning up and not having broken video games because I can appreciate a well worn place that is kept presentable but letting something become run down should not be acceptable. I have gone with my gf, to this Ultrastar, three times in the last 5 months and two of those times the bathroom was dirty to say the least. Several toilets were backed up and the paper towels were empty. We went back a few days later to use up our free tickets and the same toilets were still stopped up !! Our last visit was better with the bathrooms clean and stocked. We were also able to find an employee to get some popcorn without hunting them down, plus they have tapatio to drizzle on your salty snack; something you would never find at your near by AMC. Something to note for those of short stature: the seating in this theater is only at a slight slant so if you have a tall person in front of you, you are sol. While this movie theater is run down and I can see why is doesn't get any where near the amount of traffic of AMC in Ontario or Krik in Redlands it still is on my list of local areas to see a new flick. read more

Perfect place to see a movie! The picture, the sound, and the movie is just as good here as it is at those other places that charge twice as much. It's in Fontana... So what, it does get packed with new movies on the weekends and there is a lot of kids but what movie place doesn't. $5.00 before 5pm and $7.50 after 5pm PERECT!!!! read more

This is the worst theater I've ever been to. Over populated and the theater was packed. The people sold more tickets than there was available. People wouldn't sit down and kids were standing up next to their parents in the isle. Everyone was loud and talking throughout the movie. Maybe they felt like they were going watching a movie at home? Never had such a bad experience. If I could get my money back I would. Never going here again. read more

Price of tickets you just woke t find anywhere else. I noticed they got new seats and a major upgrade from the last ones. Price of food isn't bad but if you don't wanna spend I'm sure you can sneak a snack or two in as they aren't heavy on the open your bag routine. The only down fall to the food is that nachos are not really nachos & if you get a pretzel it will be heated in microwave. Bathrooms are maintained better than other movie theaters. They have cheap prices that are affordable and is always the latest movies playing all the time. The popcorn is so good with butter and I just can't get enough of it. The seats do not recline as much but they are nice. I have been going with family and friends because of how much we as a community of Fontana enjoy this theater. Would recommend but for the newest movies there will be a line the first day or two but in my opinion that's fine. read more

Do not come here, your car will get broken into. They don't have cameras or security guards. If they don't want to pay extra for cameras and/or security guards so we can feel a little safer, than why should we support them. The place is now called Regency 8, and they show first run movies at a discounted price, if you go before 6pm it's only $5.00, if you go after 6pm it's $7.00. The concessions are very fairly priced. They installed new seats and gave the place a make over. It's great for family since the price is a lot cheaper then the rivals, and it's easy to get in and out of when it comes to parking. They do not have stadium seating but for $5.00 dollars you can't ask for a better price to see new movies. I'm glad it's hear and I love the prices! read more

Ummm ya where do I start. Thus movie theatre used to be "the spot" when I was jn HS.. Obviously with Ontario Mills and Victoria Gardens open now, this place is ewwww compared to the other movie theaters. They really need to rehab this place. The seats smell and the screens are either stained or torn (one that I've seen). The ticket prices are NOT reasonable. Expensive for being an ugly theater. Place is clean, bathrooms are surprisingly clean, although some guys have horrible aim and are either lazy or toilets are getting incredibly difficult to flush. Employees are courteous, food is not too bad, theaters are clean, seats are comfortable. The only thing that kinda sucked is that the armrests don't move. I have been meaning to leave this review for a while now. I come here every now and then to watch an inexpensive flick on my free time. I created an account on yelp merely for this one comment. One day I went to watch 'It' but instead watched 'hustlers'. This is besides the point however. On my way to have our tickets checked we met with John. He was so funny and had such a great personality that lifted my and my guest spirits. I can tell he got a little razzled by the jokes but it was all so well intended. I came out to tell him "you know what you're right, great movie but I don't want to be a part of it hahaha". Straight to the point he is so great I didn't expect to run in to such a genuine humble sense of humor. He made our experience one for the books. Years a go, when I first moved to the area, I thought for sure I would be mugged if I ever stepped into the theater. It just looked old and run down, But, I finally chanced it and have never looked back. I love this place! My family loves this place! It's a nice, hidden little gem for the residents of Fontana. The tickets are cheap, concession stand is reasonably priced (as far as movie theater concession stands go), the movies are first-run, screens are a decent size, and they just updated their seats. I like theater. It's close to my house. I like going to the matinees because it's less people. Movies at night are okay. It's a good place to see Blockbuster movies because everyone goes to AMC so you'll find a seat pretty quickly. It's clean too. The main reason why I like it is because it's cheap. Oh one more thing, people why the heck do you bring your kids to a really scary movie. And why are you surprised when your kid gets scared and cries? Come on. read more

This movie theater is cheap,Can't go wrong with 2 dollar movies,Sound and Picture Quality isn't that great but it's still a good place to see a movie ,And you also have to wait a few months to see a movie that Is showing at your local AMC or Regal theater. I take my son here when he wants to see a movie we did not get to see on it's first run. THey only take cash for admission and for concessions. Concessions is where thay make their money. read more
