Working to find a parent placement in a skilled nursing and long term care facility is HARD! First you have to learn what type of facility is what and what insurance/Medicaid/payment options are. If it's your first time dealing with it this then that alone is a battle. Once you work through that you have to find the "perfect" place. I'm here to tell you the perfect place does not exist. Nothing is going to take the place of their home or living with family. And every single nursing home has bumps in the road. That said, I have nothing but high praise for Regency Village. Ignore all reviews more than 3 months old. Regency was bought by a new corporation 4 months ago and is aggressively working to make this the best place in the area for our loved ones. My dad has been at Regency about a month and I'm up there every single day, 3-4 hours a day. I've seen first hand the commitment to care. The office staff - admitting, reception, and business manager are all knowledgeable, accessible, and eager to help. Everything is laid out clearly and there were no surprises, delays, or issues with admitting or billing. Both ladies made a point to check on us after we got my dad settled. The receptionist is friendly and welcoming every single time. She goes out of her way to help. The nursing staff is accessible for family questions, well trained, and are intentional in connecting with patients. No one walks into my dad's room and hands him meds and walks out. They always stay and have a conversation with him. They care about the person. They are patient and tolerant with his grouchy personality! The CNA's are hard workers. Can the facility be short staffed in this area? Yes, but every single facility is. This is an incredibly hard job and it's hard to fill those positions. But, the workers at Regency don't skip on rounds, they don't ignore call buttons, and they don't rush with your loved ones. These folks work hard and have a massive impact on quality of life. They know it and they take their responsibility seriously. They also connect with residents. The therapy staff here are all above and beyond the average in house therapy. The therapy facilities are amazing and my dad has increased his abilities since working with the therapy staff. They know how to balance the fine line of motivating but not forcing. The facility itself is gorgeous. Clean, large rooms, outdoor space, quiet street. The workers are happy to be here and it shows. There is pride in being part of Regency. Make the time to come visit. I visited dozens of places before bringing my dad here. I'm so thankful we found Regency. This is where your loved ones needs to be. read more

This place is dangerous to patients. I've reported them to several state agencies. The staff is unqualified. They berate patients for "always having to use the restroom". "Just potty in the bed and we will change your sheets in the morning". Patients are actually crying for HELP as you walk down the hall. The untrained staff ignores patients cries for help. Since my father lost his independence he has been in two assisted living facilities and two nursing homes. Regency is quantum leaps better than the previous nursing facility he was in where we experienced revolving door hospital admissions and declining physical and mental health. By comparison, Regency Village has expertly managed my father's complicated co-morbidities these last three years and has improved his quality of life. They work diligently to maintain his health but know when a hospital visit is necessary. The facility is clean and free from the unpleasant smells associated with the majority of nursing homes. The staff is attentive and caring; and this is not just for showmanship but ingrained in everyone of the capable and caring staff that we have had the pleasure of attending to my father. While I am sad to say that my father has been placed on hospice, I am comforted to have Pat, Nicky, Nicole, Judah and so many others to many too count at his side providing the loving support he needs. Terrible place. They left my dad hurting in bed. If you ring the bell for the nurse that could be 30-45 minutes before they respond. Left his food covered up and too far away from him so he couldn't eat until he called his family to help him, When we asked the CNA she said she did t co it not her problem. Keep him in a host/ belt 24/7 ( he can't walk ) so they have to host him up but they should remove the host belt because it's uncomfortable, The room was hot.. if your loved ones are there go every day and check on them. I must say in all fairness - the place is clean and a few of the staff seem to care. Also the place is pretty but who cares if it's pretty. We want our loved ones to be taken great care of of and respected . My dad pleaded to get him out of there. He's been in assisted living and physical therapy hospitals and never asked us to get him out . I recommend Parsons if you are able to walk. My dad was there until he couldn't walk anymore, and they were wonderful. read more

I have nothing but praises for all the staff at this establishment. They are professional, caring, competent, kind, and compassionate. You can always see them busy working in the hallway. They bend backwards to help my bedridden mom recover from her stroke and tend to her needs without being asked. They regularly check on her to make sure she is comfortable. In the morning, they provided her with PT to prepare her for her eventual return home. While the building is older, the management keeps it clean and hygienic. I greatly recommend this place. A special shoutout to Ms. Judy for her special care of my mother yesterday. She rolled up her sleeves and brought in the cavalry with her to resolve my mom's serious problem. I have never seen such an energetic, compassionate, and loving nurse. I saw her on her feet roaming the hall the whole shift she was there. Nothing is too dirty or difficult for her. I've been in several assisted living type places, and this place is absolutely hands down one of the best I've ever set foot in!!! Most of the ones I've been in have what I refer to as a very offensive smell to them! Not this one!!! This place is like walking into a nice home!!! No bad smells here! The people and the staff are very professional, and very helpful, and attentive to the needs of their patients! They have an on site rehabilitation room with staff. The have a couple of cafeteria areas with one main area and tables. The food here is really good from what my little brother tells me, he is the one staying here. The rooms for the patients are always kept very clean, and each wing has its own dedicated nurses and assistants. They regularly check on the patients and do thorough examinations. They periodically call family members in to meet with them and give status updates and recommendations concerning patients!!! We have been very pleased since moving little brother over here. We don't worry about him near as much as we did with the other place. He had developed several infections and had to be hospitalized several times at the other place!!! He has a high tolerance to pain, and several times he didn't even know how bad off he was himself!!! We communicated this to the staff here, and they regularly check him from head to toe for any signs of trouble!!!! Thankfully due to their diligence here, there have been no more problems like in the past!!!! When we decided to have him moved, the administration staff was a really big help in making it happen! If you have loved ones, elderly, special needs, then you really need to look into Regency Village or, some of their other locations. I really can't say enough about how well they treat their patients at this facility and attend to they're own individual needs!!! I for one highly recommend it!!!! read more

My grandmother recently had a stay in the facility from November 15 to December 13 2016. the facility itself is nice. There is a nice dining and rehab areas. Areas for families to visit such as sitting area, patio, activity room. Food was cafeteria style like what you would expect served in a large facility but any meal I sat with my grandma looked nice and she had no complaints. The staff was also nice to my grandmother and us throughout her stay. I would almost be inclined to give 4 or 5 stars if not for what I am about to go over. My grandmother had mentioned to my mother and I on a couple occasions of swelling in a leg. My grandmother said she had told her nurses and they simply told her to keep the leg elevated. Her medications did not ever cause her to swell nor did she have a condition or reason for her stay that would lead to the swelling. More dismissive of her discomfort rather than looking into it further in house or sending her out to be examined. So she was released from her care at Regency and at her follow up with her regular pcp visit scheduled 3 days after her release she mentioned the same issue to her doctor. He was concerned. Ordered testing and a blood clot was found and she was sent immediately to the ER. This was likely related to her fall and broken pelvis. The broken pelvis was why she was at Regency Village. The clot could have led to serious complications and I feel her discomfort should have been taken more seriously. Now that she is being treated for the clot the leg hurts less and she can even bear more weight on it and walk unassisted some. So it contributed to delay in her recovery and rehabilitation with walking. Another incident not related to my family member directly. While visiting with my grandmother in a sitting area another resident entered the area in a wheelchair. The interaction with her and watching her left me feeling she was not all there comprehensively and physically she was unstable. She had difficultly speaking to us when she attempted. I was not her caregiver or know her medical history but it seemed her being alone was not best. This woman stood up so small and frail looking attempted to walk and fell right in front of my grandmother and I, there was no else there. I reacted to her fall which caught the attention of staff finally, who then rushed to aide her. They seemed to care for her with the fall but I feel she shouldn't have been in a position to fall in the first place. For these two experiences I must lower my rating being the primary concern for me was that she receive what I hoped would be exceptional medical care. If in the position again I would strongly urge my grandmother to pick another facility. read more

A very good surprise for the family when father came here for rehab. It's very clean, bright, nicely decorated. Staff was very nice. Only wish there were private rooms, but even so, he came home much stronger and happier. read more
