Drawn here because of its partnership with inKind, I was extremely disappointed when the app encountered some issues, so I wasn't able to use my points to pay for my order. The woman taking my order (sorry, I didn't catch her name) was gracious about changing my order after we realized the inKind app wasn't working. I opted for the jerk chicken, plaintains, and (Caribbean) potato salad, which was a first for me! The woman let me know ahead of time that the potato salad had a pink coloring due to the beets used in it; I'm glad she told me, atherwise the color would've taken my by surprise. I could barely taste the beets, but the relish and mayo were great combos. The rice was super fluffy, though the chicken was a bit bony and not as plentfiul as I am accustomed to when ordering from other Jamaican establishments. I dined in so was able to see the in and out traffic; it appears that they have steady customers, which is always a good sign! The overall vibe is super casual.

Great food and generous portions! I got the goat curry, and not only was it tender and flavorful, but there was a ton of food on the plate. It came with rice and steamed vegetables and was absolutely delicious. I was able to split this plate into 3 different meals, so you really get a bang for your buck here. The staff was also really friendly, and the service was fast. My only note is about the parking situation. There is a very limited lot in the back of the building, and because the strip has multiple businesses, a spot can be hard to get. If the lot is full, there is street parking in the neighborhood behind. I definitely want to come back to try the oxtails.

Carl is a top notch professional! This was my first time here. I saw a flyer from my breakfast Klub order. I had no idea they were sister companies. Carl understands client relations! He is very personable and made some great menu suggestions! Food: I got the jerk chicken with oxtail sauce. It was different but good! I typically like my jerk chicken with skin on it. This one was skinless. The oxtail sauce was great! I'll definitely comeback and try the oxtails. The rice and peas were good too. Last the carrot cake was real good. Solid 5 stars. Carl is the best. I'll definitely be back soon! I must try them oxtails.

Soooo good y'all! This was my first time trying Jamaican food and I'm glad that it was at Reggae Hut. The lady at the front let us try samples of their different curries and stews which was so sweet! It definitely helped us narrow down our decision and expose us to new flavors. We ordered the curry chicken and brown stew snapper. Their curry is honestly some of the best I've ever tried from any cuisine. Nice kick and incredible flavor and spices. I cleaned my plate thoroughly. The rice and veggies were solid. I loved their vibrant potato salad. The brown stew snapper was a tad bit salty and the portion was humongous... But the flavors were great as well. I think the brown stew pairs better with chicken when I tried it as a sample. The snapper was a bit dry in my opinion. Overall, a great first impression of Jamaican food and I must come back whenever I'm in the area!

I ordered two large curry goats with rice, peas, and cabbage. It was outstanding. The meat was so soft, falling off the bone, and very flavorful. I thought plantains automatically came with the order, but they didn't. You have to order plantains separately. They are $4.95 for 8, and we ended up getting 10. So that was a nice surprise since it's unusual not to get plantains in the meal. But back to the food, everything was so delicious. There were even potatoes in the goat gravy. And, little nibbles of corn on the cob in the cabbage, which also came with broccoli and carrots. The vegetables were so soft and felt good going down. I also ordered some homemade lemonade which was a little on the sweet side but still very, very good. We parked in a small parking lot on the backside of the store. It's small inside, so we decided to park close by and enjoy our food in the car.

So I called in a jerk shrimp salad with extra ranch on side. Especially with the amount of food they serve here, I just knew I needed more. This was around 11am! Yes I wanted jerk in the morning. I'm not a big breakfast food eater. That salad was delicious! Then it was topped with grilled onions and peppers!!! I'm not sure but that ranch tastes home made! But this salad consists of cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, carrots, lettuce and jerk shrimp of course...

Had a hankering for beef patties and this place absolutely hit the spot!!!!! Had to sneak a bite before heading home, they smelled soooo good. They're usually ready made and the staff will heat up for you if to go - super quick in and out!

A classic Jamaican spot in the third ward area. I've been going here since I was a little girl and they've been pretty consistent. On majority visits I always get the brown stew chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. The sauce is thick, flavorful and has a subtle sweetness. There are some carrots and potatoes in the stew as well. I love the rice and peas as it's moist and you can taste the coconut as well as the fresh herbs in it. The cabbage is also good, sometimes it can use some salt but the flavor is there. I can never not come here and get a beef patty or chicken patty. I love them both and I always get a side of jerk sauce to dip it in. Great ambiance and vibes inside!!

Okay yall I had looked up this place as soon as I got to Houston and I'm glad to say it did not disappoint. The food was EXCELLENT, I tried the beef patty not shown which was delicious & for my main course k went with the jerk chicken. It was cooked perfectly, and seasoned with love. The vegetables were amazing that I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed them! 10/10 !!! Can't wait to come back next time I am in Houston

I had family visiting Houston and they wanted to try different foods. None of us have had too much experience with Caribbean food so we decided to order Reggae Hut. Pick up was easy, employees were super nice. We got: - the oxtails (10/10...soo tender, fatty and flavorful) -curry chicken (10/10, fall off the bone meat with the perfect amount of spice) -jerk chicken (7/10, loved the kick it had, the savoriness...chicken was a little dry) -the rice and peas, veggies, and potato salad balanced out the saltiness of the entrees well -beef patties had a delicious flaky crust I will be craving the oxtails. Will most likely order again soon

This is my second time getting takeout. My first takeout of goat curry with vegetable medley and rice was ok, came with an acceptable amount of meat curry so I thought to myself that was a good meal and I would go back. But this time, the quality and value of it was not consistent. Still tastes decent but absolutely Overpriced. Got the a la carte shrimp dish and the goat curry. How is this a $40 takeout? And the goat curry is mostly bones this time. The pictures are taken before a single bite was eaten.

So we made the drive here on a Saturday in the Texas heat to check it out. Pulling up here, it's got the island themes with the Jamaican flags, island memorabilia, and afro-beats music blaring from the inside; felt like we were visiting one of the Caribbean restaurants on the islands. We placed an order for the jerk chicken eggrolls, the jamaican beef pattie, a jerk chicken platter w/ rice & peas & curry veggies, and a brown-stewed chicken with steamed cabbage and mac & cheese. About 9-10 minutes later, they called us for our food and we dug in. Everything was absolutely bursting with flavors and island spices. The jerk chicken eggrolls, both entrees, and the cabbage & curried veggies sides are definite must-orders. The chicken in all of those dishes are super tender and melt in your mouth with the spices and sauce. The Jamaican pattie is pretty good although it's the same that I've had at other spots. The rice & peas is a pretty big portion and you can taste the thyme and other spices in it. I didn't care for the mac & cheese but my fiance loved it; wasn't blown away by it. All the seating is outdoors with minimal indoor high seats so it may be best to get it to go. The beverages are island drinks such as the ocean wata (blueberry lemonade) and the Ting (grapefruit soda) which are popular island staples at the convenience stores. They pair great with whatever eats you're ordering. Other food items here that I need to try is the red snapper, the oxtail cheesesteak, and the curry goat. We'll definitely be back to try those! They also do catering as well so that may be another option we'll consider!

It was disappointing since my primary reason for visiting today was the jerk fries. The portion sizes exceeded expectations, but unfortunately the food wasn't the best today. The service is always pleasant, however, the pricing for restaurant week was not as advertised. I made them aware of the issue and was advised they would look into it, however, no correction was made to my order. It wasn't the best experience today, but I will try them again.

The bake and fish came as tacos - I don't think I realized that. It was good, but only two small tacos. The french fries were unfortunately burnt and therefore dry and inedible. I gave up on eating them. We were in a hurry, otherwise, I would have chatted with the staff about possibly getting some new fries. I would give this another try --I'd likely try a few other trucks first or at least have something to accompany my meal in addition to what I order from Krave.

Very poor customer service and they are never open!!! Attempted to try their food truck twice on…read moretwo separate days and was turned away both times. The first time they were understandably down for maintenance. The second time they served some customers food then turned others away without explanation. Just said "we're closed". We definitely won't be back.
