You would not know this place existed if you were not looking for it. This place is located off the beaten path in a senior living community by the lake. Not your typical establishment for the area. Think Ashburn meets Front Royal but more on the Ashburn Caddyshack side. The venue itself is clubhouse style, plenty of areas to hang out, coffee bar for the AM, bar bar for the PM, members only downstairs, restaurant in the round. All open style with high ceilings, so if you don't like noise like my wife, you are out of luck. If we were in Cali there would probably be lots of Skips, Bifs, Chets, Chads, Chaz, Chets, Zoe, and Buffys present. The food itself is pretty good. I opted for the brussel sprout app as a meal and loved it. My friend got the big honking steak and it looked impressive. The coolest item I noted was the whole Dill fried pickles. Either way,not a bad option to keep in your pocket to switch it up for when you burn out on the usual dining options. read more

We have been wanting to try Regions 117 and that taking my parents for my moms birthday would be a great occasion to try it. Wow!!! Everything about this place is first class. From the taking of reservations to the atmosphere, service, attention to detail, and quality of the food, were all simply amazing. Our waitress was friendly, funny, and attentive. My dad has a shellfish allergy, and ordered a meal that usually had a couple of shrimp in it. They went above and beyond to accommodate. The manager stopped by as his meal was delivered to the table to assure him it was prepared in a separate area, free from shellfish, which was very reassuring. The food was as good as I've had anywhere. Very creative and perfectly cooked. I had the catfish which is a 10. We will definitely be coming back!! read more

Returned to Region's for another incredible dining and casual relaxing experience. It started with being greeted by two of the most pleasant hostesses ever! When seated, Jesse, who recognized us (I hope for all good reasons! ) and served us on a prior visit stopped by our table just to say hello. Isaiah, another super server, greeted us as well. I felt I showed up at my best friend's house just in time for dinner! The first bite of the grilled cheese on sourdough with braised short ribs... OH MY! Luscious, well-seasoned and well-prepared. This place is an awesome little find in what initially seems like the middle of nowhere (culinarily speaking, lovely area but not where you would expect to find such a fancy restaurant). The decor is amazing. Thick exposed beams form the frame, and skilled designers have filled the space with inviting decor. An outside deck affords diners an amazing view of a small lake. Food wise everything we had was quite good. A salad topped with salmon was perfectly sized, fresh and well cooked (the salmon part). The Burger was delicious but to be fair, came out medium well instead of Medium rare. The white pizza with mushrooms was very good as well. My only complaint was about the cheese bread appetizer. The menu claims that the cheese bread is accompanied by tomato jam. This is a bald-faced lie. I am probably being overly sensitive about this, but I love tomato jam! Sweet and savory, sticky tomato jam--I get excited just saying it! So imagine my disappointment when a bowl of hot marinara showed up. Cheese bread with a dollop of tomato jam sounds like a fantastic sophisticated appetizer, cheese bread with a side of marinara sounds like pizza with side work. Such a let down. read more

Came here for brunch on Mother's Day and loved it.. great food, mimosas, ambience, service, and everything is fairly priced. What I really love is that they serve food from local farms- so two thumbs up for that! We sat inside but I would love to come back and sit out on patio for dinner with a bottle of wine.. the scenery is beautiful! Great spot for date night! The service was great! We were checked on frequently and our waitress was friendly. She provided suggestions and she was great at upselling too.. She was also honest in explaining that that the ginger beignets didn't have strong ginger flavor as you would expect but that they were still amazingly delicious. We ordered them. Unfortunately I only took a picture of my meal, the crab cake Benedict which was one of the specials of the day. Crab cakes served with poached egg is my favorite brunch dish so I've had many to compare to.... so while it was good it wasn't out of this world. I'd order again. The potatoes were good but needed a little more salt and pepper.. I'm not afraid of the sodium lol. I like my food well seasoned. I liked that there was a few purple potatoes to make it interesting. The eggs were cooked perfectly. My son ordered sausage gravy over biscuits. I like that it had lots of sausage in the gravy and not all gravy. My daughter ordered the waffles. Fantastic!!! Went to Region's 117 on a Saturday around 6 p.m. for a nice anniversary dinner. The view is amazing and the wait staff and hostesses are equally great. We ordered "Don't Miss This" Cheese bread as an appetizer and it was out of this world. I know that it is just cheese bread but it was without a doubt the best cheese bread I have ever had. I ordered the Millionaire Burger and my wife ordered the crab cakes. Both meals were very good and we will definitely being coming back. read more

Went here for dinner tonight. It was a warm day so outside sitting sounded like a wonderful idea. We were seated quickly and the view was lovely. Our waiter, Brian, immediately attended to us which was nice. The wind picked up and our friend had not brought a sweater. Brian offered his own sweater to make sure she stayed warm as it got cooler. We thought this was above and beyond in service! He took our orders and everything was delicious. Attention from Brian and others checking in on us was wonderful. While not cheap, I found prices reasonable to other place that are in the same level. Will definitely return. Ambiance was also great! read more

This was a better than average stop as we drove through the area. Obviously a very popular place located within a 55+ community but open to the public. I would consider this somewhat up scale dining. The cocktail menu was very unique and our cocktails were good. Many good choices on the menu. The food was good with nice presentation. With that said I was a little disappointed with my main course. I ordered the crabby blt. I expected a blt with some crab on it. I ended up with a way too thick crab patty/cake, which was a little dry, with a couple pieces of bacon. The crab flavor overtook the whole sandwich. The sandwich fell apart on first bite. Since we were full we ordered the delicious sounding pecan pie to go. Again it was good not great. Cool building but very noisy. This did surprise me because it serves a lot of 55+ and it was hard to hear in the place. Not very good acoustics. You could faintly hear the radio at the bar. Now with all this said, when we are in the area next time we will probably stop for another nice dinning experience. read more

Great find in the middle of nowhere! Recently we were on our way to Winchester and found out the two of our favorite upscale restaurants had closed! In my search for a new "spot" Regions 117 came up on Yelp and we decided to give it a try. The space is beautiful with high ceiling and unique fixtures. Even early on a weeknight there was a wait so we opted to sit at the bar where we met some of the locals and enjoyed our chat. The wine listed featured many local wineries (We chose a Jefferson Viognier) I chose a special of the day for dinner which was locally raised chicken in a pasta with more local tomatoes and veggies. Delicious! Schweety, loves trout so had the Trout & Chips. The fish was good but the potatoes were the standout. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside with a yemmy dipping sauce. We were glad we found this little out of the way spot. Next time, I hope to be able to sit out on the patio that overlooks the lake! read more

If you go here you HAVE to try the Kung Pap shrimp appetizer. The honey Siracha on them is INCREDIBLE! If you aren't a fan of shrimp, you can have the same sauce on a chicken sandwich they have. Food was delicious -- love the open kitchen concept so you can see everything being cooked right close to you. The location is absolutely gorgeous! Make sure to get a reservation in advance or take your chances getting to sit on the patio if weather is nice. Such a fun place for a nice night out!! read more

Immaculate. Elegance. Finesse. As I stepped onto the veranda, next to the locally sourced vegetable & herb garden, my stomach rumbled with force. A hunger unlike I have ever known pierced my consciousness and consumed my thoughts. I knew that if I did not get my hands on some locally sourced and sustainable nourishment soon... it would be too late. Fortunately for me, the hostess sat us outside on the rear-facing veranda with an enticing view of the lake. Our server came to meet us and with Shakespearean prose entered into a time of familiarization with the menu. Shortly following this ceremony, we were shocked (in the best way) by what should be described as a "bottle service" quality water experience (see photos). I requested the Pigano, a Cuban sandwich. Chef Brian and the entire team gave my little boy a birthday to remember. If I could put 6 stars, I would. The lodge was extremely busy but we felt welcomed with timely service. They had 2 events and were introducing a new menu and still on top of their game. I had an incredible tuna app followed by a salad with steak that was cooked perfectly. We went without a reservation at 7pm on Saturday night and they seated us outside within 15 minutes. Really nice food, good portions, very attentive servers. Inside seating is lovely and outside deck had a beautiful view of the lake. It's located inside a 55+ community but there is a guest entrance and age of diners varied. Would definitely go again. My husband had the margarita pizza which was tasty but could have been cooked a little more on the bottom. I had the fettuccine guardino which was delicious. This has been a favorite for special occasions several times. The food is top notch and the service is usually superb. The previous statements are true but our go to fine dining spot has turned into a loud pub. We celebrated a birthday and could not talk the whole time. We tried reading lips and finally gave up. Our quiet evening over dinner was ruined. Even the service was questionable because they were so overwhelmed that we waited a very long time to check out. This was once a destination for a quiet evening but has turned into a sports bar. We'll miss the fantastic food but not the racket. read more

We always have enjoyed dining at Regions 117. The atmosphere is always a delight & the service has always been wonderful! The food maybe a lil pricey but we do not mind paying more because of a quality local product. However the quality of service seems to have changed since we had last been there. We had a major issue with our appetizer, the waitress apologized yet we was still charged for it. After coming home I took a closer look at the bill. We had Ordered a Jameson on the rocks, $8 for the whiskey & $2 for Ice!!! I don't think I've ever been charged for ice much less $2.00 for 3 ice cubes!!! We live in this Lake Frederick community and really want our restaurant to thrive, so tonight we ordered the dinner for 4: a turkey pot pie and salad. Neither of us eats dark-meat poultry, so imagine our reaction when we dug into this pot pie (with a lovely puff pastry lattice top that was tough as shoe leather and required kitchen shears for serving) and discovered ONLY dark meat! We've both had pot pies for decades and never even encountered one with ANY dark meat, let along nothing but! THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE MENU DESCRIPTION. Pot pie recipes, frozen pot pies, and restaurant pot pies, are ALWAYS white meat only, in our experience. Other aspects of the pie -- big veggie chunks, rich sauce (albeit brown rather than white, to go with the dark meat) -- were fine. So was the caesar salad we chose, although adding another little cup of dressing would be a good idea; we ran out, and neither of us is big on dressing. C'mon, Regions, we know you can do better! read more

We went to Region's 117 for the 1st time back in Feb 2020. We absolutely LOVED the place. Great food, great service and pleasant atmosphere. 5 out of 5 all around, would have highly recommended. But....when we revisited for date night this past Saturday June 27th, I was sadly underwhelmed. The pot roast I had the time before and loved, was super salty and the meat was not tender. The waitress barely came to the table. She never checked to see how the food was. We were done and waiting several minutes before she came to ask if we wanted dessert. We thought maybe the manager would swing by to ask how things were as had happened during our previous visit but that didn't happen either. It was not very busy, not sure why we had this experience. read more

This restaurant is sort of tucked away. But it's absolutely stunning inside. From the rustic decor to the room sized fireplace, it's very inviting. The food was good too. I ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer. I wasn't a fan. They use cornmeal to coat the pickles. Cornmeal has a slightly sweet taste. The combination wasn't a pallet pleaser for me. My date ordered the crab dip. Neither of us were impressed. I'm native to MD so we do crab ANYTHING right. But if you like your crab dip to have the consistency of tuna salad, this dip is for you. Everything else we ordered was delicious; salmon for me & a steak for him. The drinks were tasty as well. I ordered an Apples to Apples; which was refreshing. We came here last year for our 19th anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves. My wife chose to come back for our 20th. I made reservations via Open Table. Open Table has a field on the reservation form for you to mention any special requests. I mentioned that we would be celebrating our 20th anniversary. We got to the restaurant and checked in with the hostess. We were shown to our table and we were given menus. The server filled our water glasses. The water was not cold. :( We looked over the menu, which had changed since last year. We made our selections. We also ordered an appetizer. My entree was the Shrimp Scampi. I didn't see much shrimp on the plate. They included a few just so they could say there was shrimp with the entree. I don't recall what my wife ordered, but both of us were really disappointed this time around. We did look over a dessert menu, but we decided to go elsewhere for dessert. I really wanted to lower my rating to 2-stars, but we liked the server, so I gave it 3-stars. Also, there was no acknowledgment of it being our anniversary. I don't know what I really expected the restaurant to do, but I was hoping that a nice restaurant in a gated community would have upped things up a notch. We won't be back for our 21st. read more

We really aren't very impressed with this restaurant. The food is just OK. Service and atmosphere is very good. I think it was in January when we last went there. They have started to offer vegetarian dishes and we tried their eggplant dish. It was terrible! Other guests next to us felt the same way. Their happy hour deals are good. This restaurant really just has the same menu for lunch and dinner. The only thing that they change is the Wagu burger each week. For us we think the burgers at Longhorn's has a better flavor then the burgers at this place. The buns are always like day old bread. When you ask about the fish n chips on the menu we are told yes it's frozen fish! It even looks like VanDeCamp. The drinks are served in a small glass like if you are a child. Sorry but they just need to get their menu up to date, have 1 menu for lunch and 1 menu for dinner. Also update their deserts. They need a pastry chef. read more

Fabulous experience for an evening out of dining followed by viewing an art exhibit within the restaurant. Large deck for dining outdoors overlooks Lake Frederick. Tables spaced well apart for private dining. Comfortable seating, nice linens, and chilled water bottle on the table. We had the margarita pizza and BLT with Caesar salad.
