I found Cafe 640 while visiting Regions Hospital. Treated myself to a wonderful lunch. Highly recommend grabbing items from the back, for maximum freshness. 5 stars!!!

Went to Regions for my vaccine shot. It was a very smooth visit. Regions has signs everywhere leading you to where you need to go including getting to the proper parking ramp(south ramp for vaccine). If your headed to regions for the vaccine, head up to level P2, basically street level, then head over to the atrium. Don't worry about getting lost there's helpers everywhere guiding you in the right direction to receive your vaccine.

A large and beautiful hospital. I'm assuming the only hospital in the state that could outdo it is Mayo. Fairly friendly staff and employees and an A+ cafeteria.

After summary visit does not say I was in the psych ward for 5 hours

If you need an ER, you need to find an alternative. St Joe's was my favorite family hospital years ago, but it no longer exists as it once was. I am entering a rating, but only to get this posted. It may not otherwise be clear that it is not an emergency medicine facility. I was in kidney failure and was rushed to ICU because of a cardiac event during the night. I was pretty out of it. At 2:50am, I saw the clock and my BP, which was 30/10. I was having trouble breathing. I was BEGGING anyone to call my hubby to come to me. I told them I knew I was dying. They outright refused. My house is about 3 miles away! They said that they wouldn't because "he had to get up for work tomorrow." I was thinking ..no, he will be making my funeral arrangements. I had an out of body experience for a short time, but refused to tell any of them. Of course my hubby was extremely upset when he went to the regular room I was in where he left me the night before and I wasn't there! He had told the nurse at the desk before he left to not hesitate to call him if I happened to ask for him or my status changed! He didn't do too much as he rushed up to my side at ICU to see me. I called Nancy the Patient Advocate, about August 28th to report this. She said she would check into it and get back to me September 5th, after the holiday. Gave me her number. I have called her numerous times. Voice says not available at this time. Obviously she isn't answering my calls as she knows my number. I got my medical records from the stay. The nurses notes from that night are missing and it took 45 days for me to get them. Kinda suspicious I think!!!

I have been treated poorly or dismissed at other clinics for a skin issue that has been plaguing me for 5 years. I was checked in, got registered, sat in a nice clean, well lit waiting room with other people who were all experiencing their own emergencies. I got called on quickly. Saw 3 amazing nurses who treated me with care and kindness. If you value your dignity, this place will take amazing care of you. Saw the doctor who was absolutely a joy to speak to, listened, and offered amazing advice for treatment. Set me up with a referral to a dermatologist and had me out of the ER in a very short amount of time compared to other places I have been to. DR. Schroeder is probably the best doctor I have had the good fortune to have met. He really did an amazing job. My prescriptions were sent over to my pharmacy, and the follow up nurse named Riley made sure that I understood the prescriptions as well as listened to me ramble on about owning a Jeep. The first nurse who took me in was amazing, vegetarian and lovely behind her mask. The second nurse was also really kind but I do not remember his name. When I went to leave, finding my way out was made much easier thanks to a nurse with tattoos up her right arm, I did not get her name. I love this place and anyone who says it is terrible, obviously has never been happy a day in their life. This place did an amazing job.

The registration process was fairly seamless, and the doctors were kind and focused on my children's experience. When we took my youngest child, it was a little bumpy, or than when we took my oldest last night. However, in both instances, the doctors were beyond excellent. The nurses were kind and responsive as well, but the bedside manner of the doctors was what stood out this trip. One concern I do want to notice is that there seems to be a glitch in their medication ordering system, which did not permit the nurse to get the medication needed within a timely manner. Apparently, this has been going on for days and the health staff have brought this forward for internal review multiple times. I hope this gets fixed as it does. So 3 weeks after the 1600 miles he drove in 3 days ( fl to Mn), he had a MASSIVE heart attack right in the office ( 5 minutes fr HCMC ER) of our 25 year primary care doctor! WHAT luck! So in 10 minutes of the EKG test, he was in the ER!!! After 3-4 hours in surgery, one surgeon came out and said," his main artery in the rear of heart was 95% blocked and he would have survived for only 90 minutes... we put in two stints". HCMC ER is nationally rated as " the top ER Level One trauma center and number one in the entire Midwest ". Level one means they can handle anything - - gun shot wounds to head, chest, stomach the most deadly spots, falls out of buildings, MASSIVE car crashes, etc etc. My father taught biochemistry 40 years in a NYC med school and taught us how to care for all others in any situation. My husband post surgery, was hospitalized in HCMC for 4 days and entered their special Cardio Physical Therapy Program = 3X a week/full hour/for 3?months!! The hospital stay was outstanding in ALL respects. The nurses were attentive, and the post heart attack education done by a special doctor was SO excellent... my husband who has been a heavy smoker for 68 years... COLD TURKEY stopped smoking immediately. HCMC's post cardio physical therapy program is Rated NUMBER 1 in the Twin Cities. We agree 100%. First the 4 physical therapist's take your blood pressure and sugar/ glucose level every 15 minutes during the hour session. All of them are joyous, effervescent enthusiastic warm caring GENUINE folk! Just love them all! They play low, any kind of music you want and LIFT your spirits with their laughter. This is a major major reason why my husband recovered so completely. (And he contracted the same deadly pneumonia that killed the famous race car driver after just 5 weeks in physical rehab) We are most most grateful for this rare rare team of great folk.

I feel like I am a very easy going patient, I don't have high expectations but communication and cleanliness are my biggest things. I have had difficulties in the past with poor english speaking nurses and there is nothing worse then looking at junk on the floor and throughout the room and know I am stuck in bed and can't go over and throw things in the garbage, but shouldn't this just be expected. This experience was better then others with clear speaking nurses but the lazier nurses that left needle covers on y bed, garbage on the floor even my blood pressure couch just thrown on the chair so who moves that if I want to sit in the chair, I saw the thermometer dangling inches above the floor, I know they put covers on them but this is just sloppy. I need to share the name of the worse nurse I had B.J. I asked if someone would be available to help me take a walk after breakfast, repose...oh sure, so after breakfast ask for help and am told maybe after lunch, then asked after lunch and was told well your going to be going home today anyway so no walk. Then learned I am going to be discharged today, great news until it wasn't. 3 hours later am told that the hospital pharmacy filled my prescriptions that I would be going home with, but now they are closed (2:30 Sunday afternoon) Because of this my home pharmacy could not fill them as they had already been filled. So I am told I have to stay another night. Seriously? So ok, guess I will be going home Monday so Monday morning Dr comes through for morning rounds and I am told it will probably be after lunch until discharge, ok so repeat of Sunday I ask for a walk after breakfast (Physical therapy) I was told yes, someone would be in soon, 2 hours later asked for a walk again and am told we are bu8sy and you are going home today anyway. I was shocked!!! Isn't this a good thing that I am wanting to get some PT in. So finally about 1:30 nurse comes in and goes over discharge paperwork. Ok got it all covered calling my fiancé I am ready to go, then I look over the paperwork and see I am scheduled for a brain and spine appt then next page I see they have me on gabapentin, I hate that drug and nobody talked to me about adding it. Then look closer and see oh here's the problem, my name is now Cynthia. Now I am very concerned and just need to get out of here before a bigger mistake happens. WOW Hospital is where you need to have 100% trust. Pretty scary knowing that I put my trust in this place.
