Asked for a GLAZE and was charged a full head dye. They then changed the definition of a glaze to fit the price they charged. I CANNOT BELIEVE I WAS CONNED AND LIED TO FOR $50. I went in for a cut and glaze. I always get a glaze on my hair that costs around $30. When I got home and looked at the receipt I saw I was charged $78. So I called and asked how much they charge for a glaze, the women said $26. So I told her I was over charged. Then she asked me if it was put on in the chair or by the sink. I said chair and she said oh that's different that's 78, if it's by the sink it's a toner. I replied okay I asked for a glaze which is always done on the chair for 20 minutes I didn't get permanent color. She then told me to call back when the managers in from vacation next week. If I asked for a glaze and she herself said it's $26 then why is she comparing toner/highlights and permanent color Update: received a phone call from the "manager" I was told that a tinted glaze is 78 ( I've been getting tinted glazed for 5 years and have never been charged more then $30 anywhere). So I basically got a glaze for the price of a full head dye. Also she was harping on arguing with me that she never told me it would be $26 for a glaze. she did tell me $26 but she was adamant about arguing with me that she didn't. Which is hilarious because she wants to pretend I'm lying but if she was a good "manager" or even good employee she wouldn't hide the price from customers, so either way her argument made no sense. A good manager would fix the problem at hand instead of wanting to argue about nothing. I was told a glaze is when foils are done ?? That is not a glaze, a glaze coats your hair. I get them every month, this salon has it's gown definition of a glaze I guess. I NEVER put permanent dye on my hair which is why I get a glaze. So basically this salon took it upon themselves to dye my hair even though I asked for a glaze which they obviously don't know the definition of. I just came home from this salon with ORANGE hair! I was under impression that this salon had semi professional employees. I was wrong. Reason for my visit was to get rid of old, red hair color and go back to my natural dark blond. I explained the reason to the girl at the reception very clearly. She never introduced herself, and turned out she was the one doing my hair. I was persuaded to go with the highlights instead which will make my hair less damaged than stripping the color. I was suppose to have blond hair after that with the darker streaks in it. NOT ORANGE. Not to mention skin on my head is burning from the amount of chemicals that were put on it. To top that off, I was told over the phone that the redo policy apparently can be bend in whatever way they want and the manager is not available and if I want to have blond hair I need to pay them more money!!!! Be Afraid of Regis Hair salon Freehold Mall. My wife got up out of chair mid hair cut because it was not what she asked for. My wife went to another salon in mall, the girl from Regis found my wife, showed up with security, yes showed up with security. The Regis salon said "Its not our policy you can not leave without paying" I can not believe this was done, you do not pay for poor service. I would be very afraid of this hair salon. Got my daughter's hair blown out and straightened and it turned out absolutely horrible. The hair look fried, frizzy, and wasn't sleek at all. Wouldn't recommend this place at all because it is also over priced for what your getting. Costed $50 at Regis in Freehold and $40 at The Hair Lounge in Marlboro, where the results were astonishing. read more

Years ago this Salon was quite good and I used them regularly. They were under a different manager back then. Truth now is stranger than fiction. This morning, I arrived for my appointment at 10:30 am exactly 11 minutes late and was told they could not do my blow dry as they had only allocated half an hour. They said if I wanted to come back at 1 pm that would work and I would be booked out with another stylist. I agreed and told them I would wait around the mall for 2.5 hours. I returned at 12:55 pm at which point I was told that I was never booked for the appointment at 1:00 pm. The girl I was supposed to be booked with and the Manager claimed they knew nothing about my booking. I asked the manager on duty to check with the girl I had booked the appointment through and who I had confirmed the appointment with in person and the manager replied "she is busy" and "she will call you later" despite the fact she was about 10 feet away. I explained I had waited for 2.5 hours and the manager replied in a rude manner "I don't know what happened" and restated "She will call you." I then asked the manager for the Regis customer service number. Reluctantly, she finally gave it to me. I was standing out of the way at the front right counter of the Salon speaking with the National customer representative after a 20 minute wait on the phone. The National office was asking me questions as to specifically what type of salon this was and the location etc. I was asking the local manager to give me information so I could give an accurate response as they apparently manage numerous salons under their umbrella. I inquired as to whether the National customer service wanted to get on the phone with the Regis local Manager at which point the Regis local manager stated "You are making me very uncomfortable and I am going to call the mall security." I had been on the phone the entire time with the National office on what was presumably a recorded conversation and my only action was to very calmly ask the local manager if she would get on the phone with their National office to discuss the issue in an attempt to get an answer as to what had happened with my appointment. I finished the conversation with the National office and relayed to them what their local manager had said regarding calling the mall security. I then walked outside the mall. I did not see the mall security in the mall so did not have the opportunity to discuss it with them. The National office advised that they would be getting back to me this week and have their District Manager call me. Needless to say I will not be back. I have had my hair blown dry every week for 25 years at various salons as I travel a lot and have never had a problem like this with a salon or met such rude people. This salon happened to be the only one that was opened on Labor Day and within a half an hour radius. There had been one prior incident with this Salon that I did not previously report. When the New Salon Manager came on board she decided she wanted to leave early one night when I was in and long before the mall was going to close. It was not an emergent situation. Her solution was to tell me the stylist was only going to finish half the job on my hair. I had told her that I objected to this and certainly would not have had them start my hair if they were not going to finish. I also noted I was sure there were rules that the mall had that required the shops to stay open mall hours and that I was sure it was not acceptable to shut down an hour early as well as the ridiculousness of not completing the job. The Manager then decided she could leave early and let the stylist finish my hair. I later read reviews that others had experienced this issue of partial "do's". Bottom line...I suspect I was blacklisted and assume this prior incident had something to do with my current treatment. Frankly this is the most unprofessional salon I have ever visited and based on other reviews I have seen it appears this is not an isolated incident. This demonstrates the importance of good management. One thing for sure...with hindsight I am glad they did not touch my hair! read more

I've recently started going to the Regis Salon in the Freehold Mall and was very displeased. I would do a normal walk in letting them know what i'm looking to do and I always tell the specifically do not touch top i'm trying to grow out the top really long and have buzzed sides. So I show them pictures indicating what i'm looking to do and it never looks the same after there done cause they don't know how to do a taper and they always end up cutting on my length! If this wasn't annoying enough last time I went in I was getting the haircut and this lady was so rude to me. She messed up my collar on my good dress shirt ( I was dressed nice cause I went out to nice lunch with gf) and at the end she gives a dirty look to someone else in room about me and i saw it in the mirror and that pissed me off for sure. I wouldn't recommend going here they don't know how to follow instructions nor do they know what there doing to run a business.
