We have a new all-in-one washer/dryer that was leaking soon after delivery (or the leak was noticed). Too late to return so GE set up a repair call under warranty with Appliance Tec. I sent specific information on the machine and the problem. This is a newer model machine as well. The first tech that was sent over told me that he didn't work on these machines and kind of stood around and then gave up. This was not impressive. However, a different tech came the following day (Andres). And, he was able to take the machine apart and find the origin of the leak. The replacement parts were ordered. And, I was happy to see Andres a few weeks later with the replacement parts. He showed us the problem (a hole and crack in the detergent dispenser ... On a new machine) and replaced it in about an hour and a half. We were the 10th appointment of the day according to the appointment tracker. And he was still efficient and polite. So, while it was a rough start. I'm happy to say it got better! read more

Whirlpool directed me to Appliance Tec to service my 18 month old washing machine. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. The tech was on time, professional, and very pleasant. After explaining that my problem was so common that they often ran out of the needed part, and it may be more than a week before they could get one. I explained that would not work because I was going out of town. He got on the phone and was able to secure the needed part. Came back within in hour and fixed my machine. So my Freezer after the repair was frosting up (this is a frost free unit). Dave from Appliance Tec quickly diagnosed the issue and corrected it (Frozen evap drain line). We used appliance tech to repair our maytag dishwasher. The Appliance tech employee was customer friendly. He replaced our control panel board at a cost of $380. There is $119 service charge fee. We needed both a portable dishwasher and a washing machine repaired. I was able to schedule online although the website proceeded to book after I entered the first appliance. I received a prompt confirmation email with a phone number and was able to call and identify we sought two repairs. The fee to diagnose two appliances was the same as for one. James called before arriving. He clearly was very experienced as he identified very quickly the problem with each. The dishwasher had a clogged hose causing a stuck valve. He diligently worked 30 minutes to clear the clog (hard to get to per hose design) and he noted a new hose and labor would be around $300. He creatively cleared the hose for $30 labor and we are back into dishwashing. He moved on to the washing machine and per our description it would not spin out any more - quickly diagnosed worn out bearings (we were guessing electrical), showed me the base of the washer with its dripping grease from those bearings, and replaced the bearings for about $200 parts and labor. It spins like a top now and we were very happy about the price vs a new purchase. Total time for 2 repairs was 8 am to 10 am. James was very professional and explained what he found and what he was doing and we very definitely would use Appliance Tec again they are a keeper. read more

Description of work: Our washer died on Sunday and my usual repairman recommended ApplianceTec. I was able to schedule them online after normal business hours. The next day I got a phone call and set up service. Service was Excellent! I received a confirmation email and another email that showed when I could expect the repairman. Turns out a wire had come loose, but he had to take the machine apart to get to it. It cost me $86. We don't get insurance on our appliances so to me it's a small price to pay. Appliance Tech was contacted through the extended warranty I purchased through Loews when I bought the washer in 2019. They didn't even come to look at the washer for over a week, about 10 days (going on about 3 week now). The tech walked in empty handed took about 10 minutes to look at it and said they had to order a part. They said they'd be back in 11 days to do the repair. Three days before they were to repair it i got a text "Hi! Appliance Tec here. Parts for your WASHER are backordered with no ETA. The appointment for Monday the 11th will be cancelled and rescheduling will be done when the parts arrive. We apologize for the inconvenience." I I know the pandemic has decimated supply chains. But the tremendous time lapse and poor communication and lack of effort on Appliance Tech is what I'm reviewing. They never fixed anything & weren't forthright about it. I'm giving Appliance Tec 5 stars not because they did a good repair job, but because they did not even come to my house. I recently bought a house which came with a washer and dryer. The washer is unbalanced even when it's empty and smells like a wet dog. On the morning of the appointment, Kevin, one of the repair technicians, called me. He told me based on the serial number, my washing machine was 9 years old, and he suggested that I not have work done on it. He told me that the model had a common problem that would be about $500 to fix, assuming he could find the parts, and that due to the age of the machine something else might go wrong later. We ended up talking for about 15 minutes with him advising me on how to fix the wet dog smell and what to look for when shopping for a new machine. I was highly impressed that he would turn down a paying job to save me money. I'll certainly call them again if I have something else break! read more

Terrible! Condensing, rude, very unpleasant, and unprofessional. Seemed to rush through the service call hastily handling my appliance and not taking care. The technician wouldn't offer any explanation to any questions I had, or go into detail about specifics. very unhelpful, and unknowledgeable. Any question was answered quickly with "I don't know, these things have a mind of their own..." or snapping "it's not my job to explain that to you." I would never seek their service again for any appliance I own. The only reason I used their services was Lowe's customer service set up the appointment. Appliance Tec was the authorized repair company that Whirlpool sent out. They arrived and quickly diagnosed the need to replace the cracked hose. Easy to schedule. confirmation of scheduled arrival the day before. Call on the scheduled day about an hour ahead of scheduled time. Tech was available to come early and I was happy to have him come early. He was quick and efficient. Diagnosed the problem with my Dishwasher and fixed it quickly. Identified a problem with the detergent dispenser and suggested a replacement would be needed. Left to get one from his parts source and was back on the job in about 1/2 hour. Installed the new dispenser and completed the service call in about 15 minutes. The dishwasher is working just like new. This appliance was purchased in Sept. of 2006 and repaired in April 2015. Steve came to repair our ice maker on 7/27/16, our oven on 1/29/16, and the oven door sometime before that. Each time, he knew what the problem was right away and was able to fix it quickly. If a part was needed, he ordered it and returned within a few days to install it. We purchased the extended warranty for our appliances from Home Depot (worth it) and Appliance Tec is who they send when something goes wrong. Once the warranty is up, I'll continue to call them if we need repairs. read more

Appliance tech was responsible for installing the new door once it arrived. At first I was afraid there was going to be an issue with trying to schedule them so that we did not have to miss work They were giving me early afternoon appt times with a three hour window but when I explained that we do not get home til 3 they scheduled a three hour window starting at three.
