This place is good for anyone's typical American Chinese food fix. I tried the Chow Mei Fun, which was just like every other place. My girlfriend had the Hot and Spicy beef combo plate. Turns out, hers was better and had me regretting about my choice. I'd recommend it. Just don't expect to eat in, it's a very tight space. Give it a try for take out. Tip: If you ask for extra spicy, it won't be, as it usually isn't at Chinese American style food restaurants. For what it is (American Chinese fast food) this is the best in the area. Their food is always fresh and they seem to cook with more care and less random greasy sauces compared to the other similar restaurants in the area. A couple of my favorites are their chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce and their jumbo fried shrimp. Of course both are nicely paired with their delicious pork fried rice. At times it can be a tad salty, even with my salt loving palette, but generally it's pretty on point. The good food is topped with quick delivery times. The food generally arrives within 15-20 minutes. I don't generally promote greasy fast food but once in a while I have to feed my guilty pleasure and Rego Garden is always my go to. read more

Today decided to give Rego Garden one more try. I have to say I noticed all new people not sure if this is new management or I just happened to come on a day where I didn't recognize any one, but I ordered my usual steam vegetables in very light white sauce and General Tso's chicken white meat only and plain rice. I have to say both were amazingly delicious. And this is by any standards of any Chinese take out or eat in that I have had in a very very long time. The vegetables were cooked so perfectly crisp and had a garlic hint to them. And the general tso's was fried to a perfect crisp and for the first time ever had pea pods carrots and onion and celery it smelled so delicious as soon as I opened it and tasted even better I will try them one more time to make sure they are really back but it looks like they are... -so happy read more

I ordered takeout for 1 Shrimp and Bean for roughly $10. At this price, I got a container full of beans with barely any shrimp. They skimped out on the shrimp completely. I counted about 10 pieces. When I called to complain, they had a attitude that I was wrong and that they put at least 25 pieces of shrimp in it. This was definitely not the case. The sesame chicken (combo) is not what I expected from this place (and I hear the locals are pretty satisfied and happy-go customers; my father often gets a takeout here for his little daughter who comes home after school expecting something fancy on the table). Honestly, it's best to spend that extra few dollars but get your moneys' worth of authentic sesame chicken (this is why I typically order a takeout from Cho-sen Garden; sure it's ~$20 but it's worth it). My order of sesame chicken was glazed heavily with sauce (even that would be an understatement), and this shouldn't typically be the case where heavy sauce should be a substitute (or even a cover up) for a good bite of chunky chicken. Speaking of chicken.... my chicken was way crispy so that I didn't really enjoy it. Furthermore, some of it smelled funny, too, as if it was fried in a pan used for a previous pork dish. Awful. It's not only the taste and the smell of fat that totally turned off my taste buds, but also the unkempt appearance of the little place; given that it was barely 8:25 pm on the clock, I noticed the floors literally yelling out, "clean me! Someone pick up that mop and the dustpan and.... clean me dirty! I didn't even finish half of my order, simply got up, disposed of the remaining dish and walked out.... without adding extra emotions to the already unsatisfying customer mood. I am not a big Chinese takeout fan. But, Rego Garden is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. Much tastier and cleaner than many of the pre-existing take-out places. We ordered the Szhechuan dumplings recently and they were delicious as were the other dishes. Their food is not greasy and quite fresh. They offer brown rice and many vegetable dishes as healthier alternative...but the usual dishes like the Seasame Chicken are also good. when this first opened up i tried the pepper steak and it was so good, i was impressed. its been 2 yrs now since it opened up i think and it is still THE MOST CLEAN CHINESE RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER SEEN. it is a very decent place for take out or even to sot and eat. i've only been inside the restaurant a few times and the women always remembers i don't eat pork. their delivery is not bad at all. thier food is really good, def worth a try read more
