With how crazy the housing market it, my wife and I decided now would be a good time to jump into the crazy waters and see what we could get for our condo. Our place is fairly new and minimal work needed to be done but we have pets who have taken a toll on our stairs. With little to no knowledge of stairs or how to repair a large chunk of wood missing from my pup chewing (GRRRR), I needed a professional to come in and take a look and assess what needs to be done. After several failed attempts to get a handyman that does both wood/wall and carpet on stairs, we came across Gunn. He was quick to respond and came out to take a look and give a quote. After a very thorough look and rundown of what can be done, We decided to go with him. Gunn is very professional and seems passionate about his line of work. After approving his quote, we scheduled a day to come out and him to get to work. He got straight to it once he arrived. We did our best to stay out of the way while he worked so we hung out around the neighborhood since he was working on our stairs. He tackled the chewed wood on the wall with a composite materials which he sanded down to match the existing wood and then painted it over. While he was doing that he was also pulling the old carpet and putting in the new stuff. Before we knew it, he was done. We looked it over together and went over any potential issues. We were very much satisfied with the finished product and thankful for the professional service we received. Gunn is handyman you can trust to get the job done right. We had some major issues with plumbing leaks inside our walls from the previous owners neglect. Gunn came and really took the time to evaluate the issues and explain thoroughly what he would do and why. Other contractors just glanced at the problem areas without looking closely and wanted to demo walls until they could find the problem (and charge more for repairing it all again)! Gunn found the best way to fix the problems without destroying everything and reduced the cost tremendously. It became apparent early on that he has years of vast experience with all sorts of hard problems and those are his favorite to tackle. He also went the extra mile to check that all leaks were completely solved. He fixed one leak that most contractors would have left but he noticed a small drip only after leaving water on for 20min. He tracked it and found a hairline fracture in pipe above it, saving us problems in the future. My experience with rehab properties was the worst. I called them to replace a door back in October of 2017, the guy who answered the phone was named gunn, he said I will go come by and measure the frame and the door , a month later after me calling him more than 8 times he was able to come out and measure. After that I called him 6 times and no respond, about a week ago I saw one of their trucks at Home Depot so I went and talked to the guy , turned to be he was Gunn's brother and his name was bobby , I said Bobby here is what is going on I need the door to be replace, he said WE ARE NOT LOOKING for work but I will call you in 2 days for sure. A week later no phone call nothing , it took me 6 months chasing these guys to replace a door Note : I found somebody else that soon as I called him he answered the phone call and was able to set up an appointment next day. Recommendation: if a contractor don't answer phone calls or your texts or he says I am not looking for work make your mind right away and move on. Don't wait read more

I cannot say enough about how thankful I am to Gunn for coming out to my home and fixing a "project" I started but couldn't complete. I had tried to do something that I just wasn't "qualified" to complete, mostly because I wasn't big enough or strong enough to do it. (Mind you I am a little under 5 feet tall so that is actually a valid tragic tale.) The way I found him was looking for a handyman on Yelp and reading the reviews and his reviews were great so I contacted him via Yelp messages and he responded the same day. We then spoke on the phone and scheduled a time. I then had to change the time so I texted him and he was fine with that. On the day he was to come over he got a job that took longer than he had thought so he contacted me via text and told me. I was was totally fine with that and I SUPER appreciated his letting my know. When he arrived with his assistant they had obviously had a long day but were very nice & friendly no matter how tired they may have actually been. (I'm guessing they were tired as I was going by looks of their work clothes. I would have been exhausted.) They fixed my garbage disposal super fast and they didn't even make me feel bad about not being able to put it back the way I found it. We had a pretty bad leak in our garage and some water damage in our bathroom so we called on Rehab Services. Gunn came out and gave us an estimate we couldn't refuse and thoroughly explained to us what was going to be done and the most affordable way to go about it. He knew we had a deadline we had to meet for the repairs and he came out with another member of his crew and got the job done within a few days. Gunn provided us with his contracting license info and reassured us that we could trust the work that he and his company do and that gave us tremendous peace of mind. It was obvious after their work was done that he was completely honest. They did an exceptional job and he said that if any problems occurred after they finished that we could call him and he would attempt to fix it again. I was trying to schedule for my home projects. These guys turned me down by saying they were booked four months out without even asking my timeline. My timeline was much further out. I didn't disclose in full detail of my budget because people always want to charge you more. My project would have been a decent one. I had $10,000 worth of work to do and for off season too. Rehab did a great job! We were looking for a handyman/contractor to remove and patch up our old range hood exhaust vent and put in a new one (our new range hood needed it higher). It was a small but tedious job, with unexpected challenges, but once they got started they kept working at it and got around all the weird structural stuff that came up. Gunn was very thorough and even went down to the county to double check the code on a certain issue. I had the good fortune to NOT work with Gunn in light of his unprofessionalism in wasting my time during the bid process.  The first of my wasted time was when Gunn took an hour to walk through my house with a promise of an estimate by the end of the day and a start date of a few days later.  Not only did Gunn NOT start a few days later, but he still has not delivered an estimate. I followed up several times and was told by Gunn he would provide me an estimate by the end of that day with NO estimate ever provided to date.  This wasted another several days of my time. In my experience Gunn is an extremely unprofessional fellow with no follow through on promises, and many excuses, which shows me he does not value his others' time. We called Rehab Properties when we had a roof leak which destroyed our ceiling and living room wall. Mr. Patel came over within the hour, assessed the damage, and gave us a very fair quote. Mr. Patel and his team did a great job refinishing our ceiling and walls which were back to normal within a couple days! When our water heater started to leak and flooded out our garage we called Mr. Patel to the rescue! He once again came over within the hour to assess the damage and offer solutions. A car crashed into my kitchen, flooding it. Gunn promptly capped off the broken pipe so we could use water in the rest of the house and continue to live there while kitchen was being rebuilt. The fire department turned off the gas as a precaution after the accident. Gunn also made sure the gas was safe to use so we could have warm water as well as heat and use it with confidence. Gunn himself came to complete the job, not a crew member or other employee. He demonstrated clear, concise communication so I knew exactly when he would arrive as well as follow-up communications to make sure everything was still working properly. He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it before he did it. Once he was done with both jobs he showed me what was done, that the water pipe was capped off efficiently and the gas was safely working. He educated me on how the water damage needed to be remedied and how to safely rebuild my kitchen from studs to flooring to cabinets. He clearly knows what he is doing and I felt comfortable with him in my home, taking it from a terrible accident to confidence in safely rebuilding...Thanks, Gunn! read more

After a few emails and pictures, Gunn was able to provide a fair estimate for some stucco repairs to my house. A word of warning, Gunn's services are in high demand, so need to be patient in scheduling work (my work was not an emergency fix), but the wait was worth it. Gunn not only accomplished the work in very short order, but looked at a roof gutter problem I have. He identified a possible simple solution that would avoid having to adjust/replace a segment of gutter and implemented the fix...all without charge. He also answered my questions regarding electrical work I wanted to undertake on my own, providing me with enough advice to make me confident in proceeding.
