BIKE SHOP- Bob and the crew at the REI Green Valley Henderson bike shop are hands-down some of the best in Vegas. These guys have decades of real knowledge and actually care about the customer experience. Bob kept my Kona rolling strong for a full five years after I should've put it out to pasture. If he doesn't have what you need in the shop, he'll straight-up send you to another solid local shop instead of trying to force a sale. For a big corporate chain, this bike shop runs like a true hometown spot. Absolute recommend -- if you ride in Vegas, go see Bob. read more

I received a gift card and it was time for some new walking shoes. This store appears to be smaller than others I've visited so inventory can be a challenge. I can never seem to find shoes in my size but this time I got really lucky and they were also on sale so double lucky. I also grabbed a new plastic container for my electrolyte drinks. Stopped into REI at The District today to look at hiking boots. They had a great selection both men's and women's including my favorite brand On. The employee in that department was amazing. He was knowledgeable, accommodating, and managed to help 4 groups of people all without losing any of his wonderful personality or smile. We found what we were looking for but the size was sold out. They told us when it was expected back in and even offered to give us a call when it arrived. I am so happy to be a member of the Coop because the value and service are always top notch! read more

I've been going to REI for years now and I'm so glad to be an REI Co/Op Member (highly recommend, it's totally worth it). I came to the store recently to help prepare for my East Coast travel and REI has the best selection for all those needs. As a member of the REI Co/Op you get access to their RE/supply which is kinda sorta like an REI garage sale. What was supposed to be a trip to REI for winter gloves and midweight socks turned into a REI rummage/garage sale 2.5 hr trip. I had to leave before I bought the entire store. I brought my analog GT bike in for a brake upgrade. I provided the parts and they did the labor. Just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Jake and Bob for their incredible customer service. I've been to several shops around town and have received good service, however REI in Green Valley is on another level, and just earned a customer for life. Bob and Jake took the time to listen and understand what I'm looking for. They really care about their customers and want to make sure you're good all the way through. We became members and highly recommend for purchases during members week (I'm truly not sure what it's called but it's 20% off one item and we had a large purchase which was a huge incentive to sign up). We did curbside pickup today and Roland exceeded all expectations. He was super helpful with an amazing attitude that will have us coming back. This review is for The District location specifically. We come often to this store since we live nearby and like looking around. We have been REI members for many years and frequently shopped at various Texas and Washington locations and with nothing but great experiences. However, every time we come to this location the Inventory seldomly changes with zero variety. Employees are never the same, which leads me to believe a high turn over rate. We tried to return an item (well within the 1 year mark, in great condition, with proof of purchase) and were told no, despite the item meeting the criteria within the stated REI return policy. As if the subpar inventory wasn't a turn off already, now the service is subpar. Do yourself a favor and go to the Boca Park/Summerlin location, which is by far a better store with kind staff. read more

Came back to REI store to redeem $30 from the welcome card we got last time visiting the store. Ended up getting two Hydro Flask camp bowls and one Hydro Flask camp plate. It was on sale and very light. Service was good. We were greeted by one of the clerk working at the store. She told us to let her know if we need help. Very friendly clerks. They don't carry any plastic or brown bag so you do need to bring your own tote bag or something to carry your things. Everyone who works at this location is always so friendly and helpful. Ive been in several times to look at hiking boots (I'm an archaeologist so I tend to go through hiking boots like no one's business). I've also ordered online and picked up in store, that also went seamlessly. This last time we talked to a passionate and energetic woman in the bike department. She was so enthusiastic about bikes that I'd recommend her if anyone is in the market for one. There's plenty of parking in the back lot close to REIs front door. REI is expensive!! I recently learned about, and visited, REI due to a flat tire on my new electric bike. They simply have everything you need in this store. It's like a giant bicycling and camping megastore that has everything you didn't even know existed! Most things would never apply to me as you won't find me camping anywhere, but they were my last resort when trying to find someone to replace a flat on a complicated electric bike. Simply paying a small one-time membership fee will unlock savings moving forward! Tire was replaced for a small fee, the customer service is unmatched, and their prices seem reasonable for the vast selection that they have! read more

I love this REI, especially the bike shop. I took a "how to change a flat" class with Ritchie (spelling?). It was a super helpful course, and he was sooo informative without being condescending (as some are prone to do). He also helped me pick out proper tire repair essentials in the store. I've brought my bike in a few times for service as well. It's typically done within 24 hours on a weekday. The bike shop staff are so kind and helpful, and if you ask them questions they'll happily answer for you. I hope they will eventually offer a full bike maintenance course, or "bikes for dummies" to go over a bike from head to toe. read more

4 stars because they didn't have a huge selection of what we were looking for. 5 stars for customer service. My hubby and I were in the area and decided to stop in to see if we could find him a pair of hang around the house shoes (aka slippers !!) The gentleman who helped us was so helpful. We were able to snag a pair even though their selection was extremely limited. They had a promotion going on for a lifetime membership, which I declined, however I was able to put the purchase on a friends account. Nice touch. There is always so much to look at here, but I continuously come back for the shoe selection. I am in love with the shoe brand Altra right now and they have a great selection. They have a co-op special right now if you buy a $100 gift card you get $20 on a future purchase. Buy shoes now and get a gift later! Michelle at the shoe area was super helpful and I ended up with a pair of Altra's for myself and a pair of Teva's for my daughter. The kids also picked out Lenny and Larry Plant based chocolate chip and Choc-o-mint cookies and they gobbled the whole thing up. It's a cookie, but the healthiest one they have eaten in a while so thank you. During COVID masks are required, but the store wasn't too busy and it was an easy in and out shopping. This REI is in the district, but there is plenty of parking in the district on the backside of the main district street. This is where I prefer to park. read more

Our bikes we bought were bought at an REI so we get them serviced here. Anytime we come in super friendly staff. Fix the issues and answer all our questions we have. It's the first "nice" bikes we have so we try to keep them serviced well. We are members so we get a discount and earn store credit with purchase. What a great deal! I have heard wonderful things about REI in the past but today was my first trip into the store. I went in with my mom because she was on a unique mission. My uncle recently passed away and was REI's biggest fan. We recently found a few items and we were hoping REI would be able to take them back. When we walked in, we spoke with Todd and told him the story. He was very helpful and said he'd go speak with his manager to see if this was something they could accommodate. He came back and said they'd love to see what he had and that his manager thought they might even be able to issue a credit to my mom for some items. We then got in line and were helped by Kristen. She had all the patience and went through each item with my mom. While some items weren't able to go back to REI, she would tell us what they were because we weren't hikers and had no clue what some items were. For items that had been purchased within their policy time, she was able to receive a store credit. Since my uncle loved the store so much, I thought I would look around. I ended up looking at the shoe selection and met Yelena. I told her that my version of outdoors is walking my dog or walking through Disneyland and she found me the perfect pair of new tennis shoes. They were even on clearance! Overall, the trip was a success and we are extremely grateful for the kindness and patience that Todd, Kristen & Yelena showed us. A store for all your outdoor and camping needs. They have bikes, camping gear, outdoor clothing, shoes, cold weather gear, etc, you name it they got it! So much to offer, lots to look at, can be a little pricey but would you expect anything less from REI. I like that they have a outdoor resource center here as well, they rent out bikes/gear and one really unique thing about this store is that have a "garage sale" area. Basically used items that people returned and they offer to sell them for cheaper. read more

I would recommend going to any other bike shop possible. I had a bike mechanic hang up on me. Upon bringing this to the manager Megan her response was to defend the mechanic even while acknowledging he did hang up on me. She went as far as to look at my past transaction and state that with other bikes that I have brought in that I didn't fully go with all of their recommendations on servicing the bikes. So her conclusion from that evidence was that i didn't trust them and perhaps I'm difficult. To make things completely the worst upon picking up my bike which I only wanted my tire trued. My brakes don't work now. I have to say they really don't deserve any business. They don't treat their customers fairly, decent, professionally or respectfully! read more

Standard REI. Maybe a little on the small size. I was looking for some Merrill shoes and didn't see any. Lots of the standard themes (biking, running, etc). The reason I'm writing this review though is because of the amazing service. Wow, lots of offers to help. I even had one of the guys at the register approach me to help. He offered to hold a shirt for me while I continued shopping; so thoughtful. Whoever says customer service is dead hasn't been to this REI. REI is one of my favorite retail and outdoor recreation services stores. The staff are always very informative and helpful. Plus, I never feel judged for not knowing about a certain product or for asking too many questions (hey, I'm new to camping lol) Moreover, with the pandemic surging, they are strict with enforcing masks being worn properly (thank you). Best part, they have amazing deals year round and you can find stuff that are better discounted than the actual brands online. For example, the patagonia jacket was 40% off, which is rare. read more

I moved to Henderson back in 2014 and I've been shopping at the REI in The District ever since I arrived. I admit this location is smaller than the REI locations I'm used to in the greater Los Angeles area, but I really like the staff here. And this location has everything I need regardless of its size. There has been staff turnover since I arrived just over 10 years ago, but every staff member I've interacted with over the years has been great. Deceptive marketing when it comes to sales. For the second time, we learned AT the register that the items we wanted to purchase were not on sale. Despite the fact that they are on a rack that has a "clearance" or "sale" sign above it. Apparently, the sale items were only on one part of the rack that's marked with red tape. No one is gonna pay attention to that. I didn't even notice it, as I was more focused on 30% off Patagonia! And then they make you feel dumb for not noticing their convoluted marketing. Not a fan at all. One of the cashiers was talking about how the Summerlin store needed to get their ops together. This store needs to take a look at themselves first. read more

It's not the biggest REI I've been to, but the staff did go above and beyond helping me locate one of their co-branded Hydro Flask bottles. It was listed on the website for sale, and when I went to the shelf, it was empty. The one cashier looked and looked, and even got 2 other co workers to look. They did find a box in the back. First thing, I really would like to thank Jaznik in the shoe section - I was in a hurry because I was on my way to the airport, and I stopped in at REI right before catching my flight. She was sooo helpful, and found me some hiking boots that were actually comfortable enough for my ginormous Size 14 feet. I signed up to become an REI member as a result. This particular REI is so nice and clean, and if you park in the back of the store, it's easy to get a parking spot. Good looking out, REI Henderson. Cashier, AJ, wasn't familiar with some return policies and such when I asked how returning and item I used rewards for would work. Her co worker chimed in to correct her and give me the true return policy (shout out to her) Then, i picked out a few items and asked AJ to validate that the ice stakes were truly .95 cents as the sticker price advertised. She called for help and found out that it was 3.95 instead and I asked if she would honor the price. Then her and another employee hunted down the item, scanned the barcode and realize the item had been miss ticketed and not been updated since 2020 - still no word on if they'd honor the price. When they realized the ticket was incorrectly placed and not up to date, they had me standing there still as they sorted it out. Still no word on the item.......... I think they should put the customer first and figure out their system, pricing and label errors later instead of me waiting there for 10 mins trying to check out. After 10 mins i just told her I didn't want the item anymore and paid for my other things and left. Never realized that a REI "losing" a few dollars on 4 ice stakes was worth the customer experience part of shopping there. Especially since I'm a loyal REI customer with their credit card.. VERY poor experience. After I left, I went to the other REI in North Vegas and had a much better experience. Turns out they gave me the wrong price for the ice stakes that I left behind anyways cause they were $6 each at the other location and not 3.95 like AJ said they were. I think we'll trained staff and a reasonable policy on honoring an item they advertised as a certain price should be top of mind to not sacrifice my in store shopping experience.... read more

Had some time to kill waiting for planned event here at Green Valley Ranch. Decided to check out REI here and was surprised to find the same store more organized. The use of the stores space is strategically positioned where the light hits the merchandise to illuminate and radiant the bike area for example. The staff here is super friendly and sometimes so friendly that it is annoying, but it is a good sort of thing. The atmosphere of the store continues to be very peaceful and perfect. The natural lighting design that REI creates is how the continued experience grows. The people that are employed are all resourceful when it comes to their products and hiking , as well as how to hike properly. They also inquire about your pursuit of the great outdoors adventure to ensure that one is prepared ahead of time for all adventures read more

You will not be guessing how much you will spend on this place cause they have an honest menu of the prices you will pay for the repair they will make. REI in Henderson is awesome!! First the staff there is very helpful and friendly. The team here answered all of my questions, giving advice on the products I was interested in and helping me make the best decision. The selection available is plentiful but you can order if needed. I really liked this option as my wife was able to order a bike, with a help of their team that is the right fit for her. She just picked the bike up and is very happy. I like the fact that the staff seems to really want to help and has passion for helping ensure you get the right product for their needs. Even though she was the only associate in the shoe department, she efficiently helped all of us with a smile. Awful customer service. I went out of my way to drive to my local REI brick and mortar to TRY TO SUPPORT the people working at an actual physical location... waste of my time... there was an older lady working in shoes let's just call her Karen.. I asked for a pair of hiking shoes and told her I would buy them if she had them. She brings me the box of shoes and I thank her and go to checkout. Decide to inspect the shoes and I see that the outsoles are dirty and they have clearly been worn. I explained to her that I would like a new pair as I was definitely going to buy them. She immediately gave me Karen attitude and told me that I had to take the dirty pair as "that's what happens when people try them on and they aren't really worn" She didn't offer to go check if they had a new pair and they were not sold out.. She just decided that she was going to try to make some point to me and try to make me take the used pair.. Lady I am the paying customer and they are a gift... if I want a new pair go get me a new pair. She really thought she was going to bluff me LOL should have seen the look on her face when I told her "no problem I'll just go buy a new pair online" and I handed her back the box and walked out. Wasting my time because I went out of my way to try and support brick and mortar, wasted her time because they lost a sale, and wasting resources because I had to order them online wasting more fuel and packaging to have them delivered. The planet suffered a little more because I had to order shoes that were fifteen feet away from me.. but Karen was too proud to go get them. And guess how unprofessional they look to me when I've spent thousandsss of dollars at REI and I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION. Hope Karen felt real smart trying to give me a hard time and stand on her hill, while I the paying customer just see her as incompetent. read more
