I think Planet Fitness can't be beat. Last time I checked the hours here they were open til 10 during the week and 7 pm During the weekend. Nathan and Avery @ the front desk were awesome. Great customer service especially from Nathan. He went above and beyond. Black card members get 50% off drinks, access to total body enhancement , tanning and training. Also 20% off at Reebok.com they have every machine you can think of. Only thing they don't have is pool, hot tub and sauna which isn't a big deal. I like the atmosphere. It also doesn't smell dirty the air is clean. There are mini lockers up front with pre set combos that you can set. My only Issue with this gym is that they do not verify who has been vaccinated or not. This leaves a lot of room for dishonesty. I get that people don't want to wear masks but we all need to do our part. Saw a lot of members actually wiping the machines down

I've been a member for over a decade, and over the years I've noticed a decline in several areas…read more The biggest issue is the water fountain. It's honestly one of the nastiest I've seen. The top around the water filter is rusty, old, and appears moldy. The drainage holes are dirty and moldy as well. This has been an ongoing issue for years, and it's surprising that such a basic part of the gym hasn't been addressed. The indoor cycling equipment also needs attention. There are two nice FreeMotion bikes, but they aren't being maintained. The pedal straps are constantly broken. One bike has essentially been abandoned, and now the other one has the same problem. Another issue is the hand sanitizer stations. While there are plenty throughout the gym, some stay empty for weeks before being refilled. Overall cleanliness has also slipped. The obvious areas are cleaned, but if you look at corners, door frames, and less visible spots, you'll find spider webs and bugs. It gives the impression that only the most visible areas receive regular attention. That said, there are things this gym does very well. The staff is always genuinely kind and welcoming without feeling forced. They hire great people. The workout machines are clean, and the new layout is a significant improvement. The reason I'm giving this a one-star review is the water fountain. It's been unsanitary for far too long, and clean drinking water is a basic expectation for any gym. Fixing that alone would make a huge difference.

The draw for ECA over big places like LA/24 hour was the smaller business vibe & I wanted to "shop local". I also liked the childcare options. 1. when we signed up at the Ballinger Village location with Brody, he made a big show of telling us (my husband and I) how they're a small business and they're not out to get money, he said most of them are just personal trainers or nutritionists, NOT BUSINESSMEN (i remember this line because he repeated it several times). So he encouraged me to sign up for the champions class. I asked specifically if I could cancel if it didn't fit my needs/baby schedule. He said "of course. But I'd recommend you try it for at least 60 days so you can really see if it works for you. And if you still need to cancel, just reach out. We're really chill here." This was near verbatim. 2. After more than a couple months, I found the champions class great for others but not for me/my toddler's schedule so I emailed to cancel which was the ONLY option I was given. And the email response was short, rude, and included a "$299 + tax downgrade fee" for the cancellation. Mind you, I wasn't trying to cancel our membership. Just MY champions access. I told them what Brody had told us just months prior and they absolutely didn't budge. That's fine. It's policy - I get it. But this is totally the kind of stuff big businesses pull and they should be up front. 3. We ended up completely cancelling our memberships (both of us) because we thought this way of business was shady and when you think about the cost and what they offer v. what big gyms offer (LA/24) then you'll realize it's absolutely not worth it. all that talk in the beginning is EXACTLY what it sounds like. a sales pitch. don't be sucked in. **I will say the teachers at the childcare are above and beyond. I have told everyone I know about our ECA experience and hopefully saved people quite a bit of $$$ but I have nothing negative to say about the teachers at childcare. ** in case my review is too long. read this reddit forum. https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comments/oanvzy/emerald_city_athletics_a_toxic_manipulative_and/

According to my friend the membership includes allowance for visitors like me to join him, discounts on the merchandise as well as a starter kit which included shoes and climbing sand for gripping among other things. I think that's a nice offering and they seem to offer several packages from monthly, to annual memberships. The climbing gym itself is large with several paths to choose to climb. These paths are ranked by number ranging from "0" to "10". The higher the number, the more complex and difficult the climb is. Once you sign in/pay for the visit, you get shoes similar to a bowling alley, strap them on and begin climbing. The staff are there to help answer questions, but you're free to climb uninterrupted. On my visit, my friend and I managed to max out at level 3 maybe 4, some of the climbs I personally found tough! It is challenging and fun though, really getting you to use your head to plan your route before and sometimes while climbing. I enjoyed the visit and was complimented by my friend who'd by this point been going for a month whereas I can't remember when I did a climb! If you come, don't forget to stretch before climbing!

No matter what the grade, it demands you to try hard: technical sequences, burly moves, engaging footwork, etc.
