Aldo Demolition & Excavation - FOUDATION REMOVAL!!

I had Aldo demolish parts of a concrete/flagstone patio for planters. As with most old homes, we…read morehad a surprise. There was a whole extra layer concrete and brick that was underneath some sections. This added a ton of time and effort, but Aldo didn't think twice about taking care of it. The team was prompt and communicated well. They took steps to protect my home from debris and cleaned up well after it was all done. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

SINKHOLE SOLVED! I…read morecan't recommend Aldo and his team more. We had a sinkhole in our backyard from a removed large tree that we had removed years ago. I submitted a request for bids on Yelp and Aldo properly responded. While I was waiting to gather more contact s for bids Aldo reached out to me after 2 to 3 days to see if I was still interested, so I could tell that he had follow through and took his business seriously. Good sign. I was initially hesitant to use him due to the name of the company. I had it in my mind that I needed a landscaper to correct the sink hole, but I was wrong. Upon meeting, Aldo I was impressed with his punctuality and friendliness. He gave us a very fair bid for the amount of work to be done. My wife and I felt that he was the right fit and asked him when he could start. He had his crew began the work within two hours of signing a contract that day. They came in on budget, finished the work in the agreed upon timeline and returned the landscaping to pristine condition. It really is wonderful to see a business who takes their jobs seriously and puts so much attention on the customer and doing a great job. Aldo is the man!

Lassiter Excavating - Family owned and operated since 1989!

I don't write many reviews anymore, and honestly, I haven't had many contractor experiences that…read morewould motivate me to change that. But Lassiter Excavation was so good that I couldn't continue to be lazy.  For context, I was replacing an old 35,000-gallon swimming pool with a skinnier lap pool. Lassiter started by completely removing the massive 1975 pool, including every scrap of concrete and piping.  Then they backfilled and compacted. Working to my soils engineer's specifications, they imported and compacted 18 truckloads of quarry fines in carefully controlled 8-inch lifts through the full 12-foot depth of the deep end, all the way to finished grade. They used multiple pieces of equipment, including jumping jacks, a Bobcat, and a vibratory sheepsfoot roller (which I had to look up), and they coordinated compaction testing throughout the process.  When they were done, it looked like a pool had never been there. The site was fully prepared for the new excavation, which Lassiter then completed flawlessly.  I measured their forms with a laser level and laser tape measure, and length, width, diagonals, position and elevations were all within 1/8 inch. That's impressive considering the new lap pool is nearly 60 feet long. When they were finished digging, the walls and floor were razor straight and right on their marks. The crews were outstanding -- friendly, hardworking, detail-oriented, and consistently professional. They maintained an exceptionally clean jobsite throughout the project and even helped me reclaim some old redwood decking.  Special thanks to Santana, Ricardo, Daniel, Jose and team for answering all my questions and caring so much about the end result. If you're considering any excavation work, I highly recommend reaching out to Lassiter Excavation and talking with Bob. They exceeded my expectations in every respect.

They finished on time and on budget, and handled the permitting so we didn't have to worry about any of the details. I literally could not have gotten my project done without them. They are fast, professional and best of all they are *experienced* meaning they can advise you on the best and most efficient way to get almost anything done including how to navigate city permits. I will never do another major project without Dan and his team!

I appreciate that they came out to bid the job, but what a waste of my time…read more They asked for plans, so I sent them the structural & architectural drawings to review prior to our meeting. They then scheduled a time to come out. We went over the project, and I was told it was definitely something they do & getting me a quote would be no problem. Later that day I was informed it would take a couple of weeks to get back with the quote, because they do several bids a day & it takes time to get them out. 3 weeks later (this morning) I get an email saying they won't be bidding my work, because they are changing their scope of work, and this just isn't the kind of job they're looking for. Too bad, because once I learn the building process on my ADU I have plans to move on to doing a small subdivision.... And things will only go up from there. My family has built residential & commercial real estate for decades, and I am presently looking for the right people to use in the future. Not the best way to run a business, but hey.... Maybe they don't think long term & that's ok. Most business like that will peak & by the next generation will diminish into nothing. These guys wasted my time, and ultimately acted too good for my job.

I had a big hill in the front yard that was causing all sorts of drainage issues, and was unusable. I was looking to level and put in a retaining wall / address some pooling problems. Pat's vision was excellent in planning the layout, and recommending features that would be aesthetically pleasing and functional. He recommended a swale to stop the drainage issues once and for all, and a natural rock wall to match our house. During the work, Pat and his son Brian were communicative and responsive. His crew showed up every day and worked hard to get the big job done quickly. The end result was spectacular! Take a look at the pictures - we now have a front yard we can be proud of and a bulletproof drainage system. With every big job, small issues arise. Pat quickly came out to address those issues, even months after the job was done, so we could be sure the end result will last for many years. One last thing - being in the business for so long, Pat has a rolodex of trusted contacts that supplement his work to keep the job moving. 5/5 work!
