However, almost five years later, it's darker, has smudged, migrated and is thicker on one eye. On May 3rd 2020, I contacted Emmi to express my concerns. She never responded. I have been using soft pink and flesh colored eyeliner makeup to cover it. After many consultations and research, I decided on laser removal. This was an incredibly painful procedure and left me swollen with black eyes and my eyelashes turned white and fell out. I'll know more in a few weeks whether I need another round of laser or if I can live with the residual. Two MD's who specialize in in cosmetic and laser procedures informed me most likely ink was used instead of pigment, which fades. Emmi is a very nice person with a gorgeous salon. I originally (2016) posted a rave review on Yelp because I loved my new eyeliner. I've since removed that review after realizing that after 4+ years, my eyeliner is not fading and isn't going to. I never would have done this if I knew it was literally "permanent" and does NOT fade.

I would have rather done mascara for this photo shoot. Val said that she would not put anything longer on than 10mm to keep the integrity of my lashes AFTER I was on the table. I would not have booked this appointment with that information. I told her I've never done less than 12's and I preferred 13's for the center of my lid. She assured me they would look great! When we were all done, she was all smiles with how natural they look! I just wanted to cry. I wasted my time and my money and my engagement photos are not going to be glamorous at all and I can't put mascara over them or glue a strip to enhance them. Why 3 stars? She is a very good technician in terms of skill. I'm just upset that she really didn't listen to her customer. I wish she had a better on the phone in take process to communicate and set the person up properly with expectations.

Julie does so many things - hands, nails, lashes, so many different types of massages, etc. If I lived in Maui, she would easily be my one-stop shop for everything. Massage - Hands down, probably the best massage I've ever had. She targeted my shoulder and neck area because they were my most knot-filled areas and it was amazing. Her massage and pressure points felt like they had purpose instead of me being randomly punched. I had to force myself to keep my eyes open so I wouldn't fall asleep and not be awake to enjoy the benefits. She also gave really great advice and educated me about certain pressure points to take with me to future massages. Lashes - Refills looked even better than what I remembered having. Overall - I feel like Julie got the short end of the stick. The $170 price for the best 90-minute massage and lash refill for the quality I received in return was phenomenal and I can't wait to go back to her for all of my beauty needs when I'm in Maui. I asked for acrylic, soft almond, French manicure with chrome powder…read more The nail tech, Jenny, refused to do acrylic and instead opted for gel x despite my insistence I did not want gel x. She told me it would be safer for the baby (I'm pregnant) and made me feel terrible for wanting what I asked for. After googling I learned that gel x is not safer for the baby, both are considered safe in pregnancy. After shaping the nails I noticed they were more stiletto shaped than soft almond or even a regular almost. I brought this up to her and she used only a buffer to "fix" it which did nothing to change the shape. I told her I was still not happy with the shape. She did not fix it. She proceeded to use a transparent base coat you could see my nail bed through. When I asked for a more opaque one she told me no and assured me the chrome powder would hide my nails underneath--spoiler, it did not and the white tips were way too low to cover it as well. Mind you this was a standard French not a skinny French. She applied the white tips directly on top of the transparent base layer and managed to knock something into it. She blamed me for this and then "repaired" it by simply adding more white gel polish on top of the damaged cured layer leaving it incredibly lumpy. The nails themselves have crazy lift, no apex, just flat and sticking upward at a 20 degree angle like a plane taking off the runway. I paid for the most expensive gel mani pedi service they offer on top of the full acrylic set. Nothing stated to come with this service was included other than the gel polish. My calluses were not removed, cuticles were not trimmed, no hand massage or exfoliation or any kind. I didn't even get the acrylics I paid for and was forced to get gel x while staring at a full wall of acrylic powder so it's not a matter of them just not offering it. By the end I was practically in tears. I tried to intervene to fix all of these very clear issues at every step and was completely ignored each time. This took Jenny over 3 hours to do so this wasn't like she was rushing, she just simply didn't care. My nails look a mess and I can no longer have close up shots of our hands and rings for my wedding two days from now despite telling her multiple times throughout those three hours how important that was for me. When I showed the girl at the front desk she looked just as disappointed in the quality as I was but didn't act surprised at all. She did refund me right away which was nice and offered to redo them for me but I was not able to do so because I had so many other appointments booked before the wedding that I needed to get to. I will end up walking down the aisle with nails that look like they were done by a fourth grader.
