My hair was getting waaay too long and my little guy was about to start school so we decided it was time for a snip. I did my research online and saw quite a few recommend Marlee, the owner, for children's haircuts. South Shore Studio was one of the few places that were available on short notice (we booked just a day or two before) and had availabilities to accommodate all three of us. That weekend, we finally went in as a whole family to get our much overdue "COVID cut." The studio is located at Azeka Makai Shopping Center, where Nalu's and Taco Bell. Upon walking in, the shop is clean and surprisingly bright with a lot of light. I was a little nervous at first, but everyone was wearing their masks and chairs were nicely spaced out. Marlee tackled my little guy's super long hair so quickly despite him being extremely ticklish. She accidentally snipped the tie on his facemask, but luckily I had an extra (it happens, so definitely be prepared). He loved his new hair! Britney worked on my husband & I and gave us new fresh cuts. I chopped all my hair off, so it did take a bit. When I asked it to be cut shorter, she happily obliged. Overall, I liked my new, short do and would recommend their studio to anyone, especially if you're looking to get a cut on short notice! I attended a wedding last weekend & wanted my hair to be all cute because I honestly could not remember the last time I got to get all dressed up for an event. I searched for a salon in Kihei because I did not want to have to drive into town twice. Now let me just say, I get a tiny bit nervous when it's not my usual hair dresser touching my hair. Yet...I'm always up for giving other salons a try. I found South Shore Studio which is still very fresh & new with everyone giving them 5 stars. I ended my search at that & booked my appointment with April for a cleanse, condition, blowdry, & style. I walked in & was greeted by April who I right off the back could tell was full of spunk & very good energy. As she was washing my hair, I explained that I wanted loose natural curls. She seemed like she understood what I wanted, but I was still a little nervous as the last time I told this to someone at a different salon they put my big mop of hair in rollers under the dryer which caused the mop to get even bigger & puffier. However, after talking to her & learning that she has been doing hair for over 30 years, I was confident! After the washing, I thought it was then just going to consist of her getting the curling iron & that would be it. Boy was I wrong! The tedious process of blowing out my thick hair so that it would curl was next. This was the longest process of the whole thing, which dang I was wondering how the heck was her arm not sore after that. She then began the flat iron curling which each curl was curled the same & the same size making every piece just fall so nicely into place. I had been contemplating cutting my hair that I've been growing out for a couple years, but after seeing how amazing she made it look, my decision was easily made. Yesterday I had an eyelash tint with Ashlie at South Shore Studio. It was the best last tint I have ever had. Now that I'm older I cannot wear makeup without looking like 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane' or the Crypt Keeper and as a red head my lashes are almost white. Ashlie used a henna/dye hybrid on my lashes. They look dark and thick and I love them. The only makeup I'm wearing in the photo is lip gloss. Ashlie was also fun to talk to and personable. The talented April did my Brazilian Blowout and my hair looks and feels incredible! It's a lengthy process but April was so nice to chat with!
