This restaurant was very well reviewed on another review site and I was excited to try it before we took our boat cruise down the Seine.
I feel like a 2.5 stars would be the best rating, but I'll round up because the owner/chef was so nice and service was great. He did all the cooking and serving! We arrived at 7:30 on a Thursday night and other than a large and noisy group in the back (my French isn't great, but sounded like an after work get together) and a couple that came in about halfway, we were the only folks in the place
The food and decor, for me, was too bland/Americanized. I mean, we were brought potato chips instead of bread as a pre-meal snack! The food we got was fine but not special in any way. Certainly the price was right, however. Cheapest meal by FAR of our 7 day trip. This was very much the Paris version of the American diner or small Mom and Pop place. That isn't a bad thing! But it just didn't feel authentic to me in any way. I wouldn't care so much about how it looked if the food had felt more French instead of American with fancy name.
If you are looking for an authentic French place, this isn't it. If you need a cheap meal with a super nice owner and lots of English, this would be it :) read more
