Just purchased an electronic stand-up desk. Moves up and down with the touch of a button! It is fantastic. I had a good experience buying the desk; the store had 6 or 7 models on the sales floor, and the sales rep was good. I ordered exactly what I wanted and it was delivered today. I love it! I have purchased many items at "Relax the Back" and have enjoyed them all. I intend on buying other items as well. My one big concern, in the past, was that the helpers at the store always seemed a little disinterested in my welfare and I just felt like it wasn't a fun place to go. I think that has changed significantly now that there is a change on management. Everyone seems happy and eager to help. They communicate well, even by phone pr on-line. I can't say enough about the attitude and service we received from this mattress company. They had promised a certain delivery date. When their delivery vehicle needed service they rented a truck especially to get our bed to us on the promised day. When they forgot to leave the mattress protector they mailed it the next day at additional expense to them. We love the bed and would highly recommend anyone needing a special bed to cure a back problem to go there. The sales people are very knowledgeable and helpful. I bought a $100 item, tried to use it for about an hour, it did not fit properly, tried to exchange it the next and was refused! I would not reccomend this store to anyone. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I purchashed a temper-pedic mattress, adjustable bed frame and zero gravity chair. I was told it would take 1-2 weeks to be delivered. A week and a half into this time frame I hadn't heard anything from the store so I decided to call in to check the status of my order. I called in and no one could tell me anything and I was told they would call me back with some information. I never heard back from them, I then went through this another 2 times with no call back of any kind. Long story short the bed came after 3 weeks and the chair after 4 weeks. All of which would have been fine if someone would have just returned my phone call and kept me updated. You'd figure after spending $10K you'd at least get a call back. Bought a tempurpedic mattress from these sheisters thinking they were a quality small business. They were very freindly during our purchase giving us a free pillow, mattress cover, etc and telling us if we weren't satisfied, we could return the mattress, no problem. After three weeks we didn't like the mattress at all so called and wanted to return it. They said we'd have to pay a $250 return fee plus pay for the "free" pillow and mattress cover. We argued with them over a couple weeks because they represented the purchase as a no-risk deal. Finally turned the whole thing over to our credit card company and after 3 months we came out whole minus the return fee. DONT GET SUCKERED INTO THEIR PLEASANT DEMEANOR AND SMILES - THEY ARE DISHONEST RATS! read more

He informed me they did not carry the product I was attempting to return and each store is individually owned. However, he proceeded to solve the problem. Steve indicated he would personally contact to Thousand Oaks store owner and proceeded to issue me the credit for the return. I bought a pillow to help with my neck pain a few months ago but it came apart at the edges and I ended up throwing it away. I was unaware that pillows had warranty. I walked into the store today ready to buy a new one but the gentleman on the sales floor told me about the warranty and went out of his way to give me a new pillow for free. I've come to expect this sort of service from Amazon but nice to see it at brick and mortar retailers as well. read more

The items are incredible but extremely overpriced. I purchased a tempur-pedic mattress here with sheets because the pricing was the same as everywhere else. They could not give me a day it would arrive so I waited. About two weeks after the fact I received the mattress but with no sheets. I have called everyday since and NO ONE could tell me when I would expect the sheets. Every person I spoke with said they would call back, but never did. I finally called corporate and there customer service is just as bad, no sympathy whatsoever. It has been over three weeks since the purchase and I have found out that they shipped the sheets around the time we received the mattress. Basically the order just got put in since I have been calling. Great products, but absolutely terrible customer service. Zero organization. read more

I came into this store in December and was in a tough place. My mother was diagnosed with cancer and was gearing up to start chemo at age 68. Unfortunately, she was unable to get out of a chair easy or with any grace, plus she uses a cane. We needed a lift chair and needed it quickly as her aggressive treatment started in 2 weeks. The thought of her not being able to get up quickly should she get sick was wearing on me. After going to 4 different stores, we were referred to this store. The new associate and manager were so helpful and caring... I can't begin to thank them enough for taking this huge burden off my shoulders. They got her a chair delivered to her home the following morning. Delivery would have normally taken a few days, however the manager told us she was going to make it happen tomorrow. All other stores were a 6 week wait which would have been too late. The associate that delivered the chair was sooo helpful to my mother. She said he spent the time and went through all functions of her new chair and make sure she was 100% confident before he left. My mom is in love with her new chair and it's 3 months later. Relax the back is a wonderful establishment! Upon first entering the store, everything about it tells your complete person, "serenity now!" The inviting atmosphere, the calming music, and the plethora of delightful equipment designed to ease one's back and neck is enough to inspire one time customers to become loyal clients for years to come. The staff is friendly and strives to go above and beyond to provide the most excellent service for customers interested in the most excellent products. I personally purchased a Tempur-Pedic Symphony pillow a few weeks ago, and the only word that comes close to encapsulating my excitement is "WOW!" The kind young lady who sold me the pillow was so knowledgeable and helpful, and she helped me choose the pillow that was right for me. Not only that, but I also ended up buying a pair of Tempur Pedic slippers because the products at Relax the Back are just THAT GOOD. I'm just waiting for Relax the Back to endorse a line of apparel so that I can experience that comfy goodness from head to toe 24/7! Went to Bellevue store to return a car seat pillow that I purchase at the Thousand Oaks, Calif. store. Met the new owner Steve. He informed me that they do not carry this item in the Bellevue store. However he went out of his way to satisfy me. He accepted the return and indicated he would contact the Thousand Oaks store (under different owner) to work out return. His attitude was way beyond acceptable customer service. He was about trying to find a solution to my dilemma...not simply about the bottom line i.e. selling more products and making money. I was surprised to discover that this Relax the Back store was under new management. When I walked into the store I was impressed by the way the store looked and also by all the new items that were in the store. I have had back problems for most of my life and have found many very useful items that have helped me deal with my sore back. I bought a Zero Gravity chair a few years ago and absolutely love it. Great products... lousey customer service and poor business ethics. I spent nearly $4,000 with them and then decided to return one of the two chairs I'd purchased. They wouldn't give me my money back even though only a couple of weeks had passed and the chair was still in perfect condition. They insisted on giving me a credit. Six months or go by and when I try to use the credit they wouldn't honor it. Such short term thinking. I injured my back years ago and suffer from chronic pain. I need products like this!! Under new management this store and employees went well above and beyond. I received excellent customer service from highly informed employees. I wasn't directed to the most expensive chair, I was directed to the right chair for me. They delivered two days after my purchase and even help rearrange furniture including moving two very heavy chairs to another floor! If you have had a bad experience in the past please try again. After 10years using the same matress, me and my wife decided to invest in a better set. We leveraged Black Friday offers and started to shop around. Obviously, we started with big retail brands which by the way have been very helpful to help us frame our needs, yet they could not deliver same day (we missed the 3PM cutoff date for sameday delivery). As we really wanted the new set delivcered same day, we tooK a chance and stopped by Relax the Back in Bellevue and 2 hours later, we had a new split king tempurpedic set of matresses and electric bases installed in our bedroom. Initial experience was wonderful until my son had to exchange a support I purchased. Spoke to a salesman on the phone who said we weren't a part of their exchange system even though the original representative (who no longer works there) pleasantly told me so. After trying to figure it out and going back and forth on the phone, I asked the salesman for his name again so I would know 'who' to ask for if I had to go back to the store . I thought he said Dave. He refused to answer my question at first, then after asking again and explaining why, he said "Are you going to answer MY questions!" After my third request, he finally said "D---A---V---I---D". I asked him why was he getting loud and if he could bring the tone down so we could finish. Things were getting very uncomfortable. He said he was sorry "*I* interpreted" it that way. Then as I was looking for my credit card for a refund (which I DO appreciate he offered), he asked me if we were going to wrap this up, to which I let him know, I was just trying to locate the card. Found it a few seconds later. My only question now is "Really?" Really unfortunate given my initial impression of the store. But he eventually said he'd complete the transaction. Went to the store in pain to look at chairs in Dec. 2017. Salesman, David Heimann, ended up selling me two pillows, one for my car, another wedge for a couch or bed. I asked when paying what the return policy was. He said keep the receipts and packaging and I had 30 days. In no way did he say foam products were not returnable. You would think he might want to, given I was spending over $200 on the two items. I didn't use either product, rather I used the seat wedge for about five minutes before realizing it was the wrong height. After I got all the way home, I realized each had a miniscule and I mean very tiny warning saying products weren't returnable. I took them back to the store in pristine condition, in the packaging. David wasn't there but the two gals who were barely let me speak and began protesting that the products weren't returnable ($236!) and they would make no exceptions, especially since David wasn't there. The salesman, David Heimann, was unethical and just trying to make a sale. This place is just trying to make a buck off of people who need help. It's a disgraceful business practice. Keep your money and shop somewhere else. read more

Caveat Emptor really applies here. I visited the store to buy a side sleeper pillow and was shown all the styles by Christa. Several times, she mentioned their 30 day satisfaction return policy but NEVER mentioned that it does not apply to "personal items" which includes pillows, apparently. When I bought the RTB brand pillow, I left the store $140 poorer but thinking I had nothing to lose. A few days later, I started to experience additional neck pain and was snoring more than ever, so I boxed it all up and took it back, only to discover that it was not returnable or exchangeable. I was sneered at by 3 sales people for even asking and Christa made sure I understood that "that's why the receipt is stamped "Final Sale". Well, guess what, I couldn't see that stamp because when she sold me the pillow, it was STAPLED behind her card and the credit card receipt, so I didn't see it until the moment I entered the store. They made sure I understood that they would just have to take it and throw it out in the garbage, and they couldn't re-sell it. OK, I'm pretty sure that people have returned bathing suits to other stores and gotten their money back - or at least, a store credit. But not here!! I was S.O.L. and will NEVER go back there. I felt they took advantage of my naivete and couldn't care less about doing the "right thing for the customer", but focused on store policy enforcement. I bought two Tempurpedic pillows, a wedge system, a real-ease, and a theracane from this place. Although i wasn't greeted right away, I noticed that the employee was working with someone and there was nobody else working, so I looked at some of the products I was looking for. I was greeted and helped shortly after and the lady was very helpful. She let me try the real ease on a mat (so I wouldn't be on the floor) and taught me about what it did for my neck/shoulder muscles. The thing I liked most besides the atmosphere of the store was the education involved. They seemed to know what they were talking about when it came to back/neck issues. They also do a price match, so if you find something at their store that is less expensive somewhere else, they'll match that price. Overall, a good experience! You really don't realize how important taking care of your back is until you get injured----or until you walk into this store! (Pick the latter of the two). read more
