I was bracing for the worst... And yet, this was seriously the most fun I've ever had buying just about anything! I did do my research before picking Mattress City in Shoreline, having looked for well-reviewed mattress stores - which this is - so I wasn't totally surprised when the sales associates were pleasant - but then they turned out to be so much more than that! Emily and Trinity were knowledgeable, patient, positive, and just about the friendliest and most genuinely upbeat salespeople I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with! They gave us a multitude of options and didn't press us to buy the most expensive mattress or the highest tech mattress, and let us take our time with zero pressure. Emily even offered me a brand new, clean pillowcase right out of the package to put on a pillow so I could shake off my heebie-jeebies of other heads and faces having laid on it, haha. It was a very thoughtful gesture. While we ended up purchasing a mattress a bit over what we had budgeted, that was totally on us. Emily and Trinity were both very supportive of our purchasing the lower-priced model, but then we just kind of shifted gears and went with the fancier mattress - which I know we're going to love! It's a true credit to them that we honestly felt free to spend a little or a lot, and knew we would still receive the same super friendly enthusiasm either way. They even managed to arrange for delivery within 24 hours, which was a true bonus! We won't forget this incredibly positive experience any time soon. When I went to return it shortly after buying it because it was too high for my head/neck, I was told that it cannot be returned for comfort reasons and the warranty only covers defects but not comfort. Mattress had a good product at a reasonable price…read more But their delivery left us with a bad taste in our mouth. They brought in the mattress and adjustable base, asking where it should be installed. The delivery guys sort of pretended to act like they would not set up the bed, even though it was obviously included even though that is what we been arranged. They had a well rehearsed stage production between each delivery man of how it used to be $40 but had recently increased to $80. The stage play went on for 5 minutes, acknowledging that there was no additional fee but they would not set up the mattress without the payoff. They had the whole script and we were not prepared. I should have interupted with their distributor on the phone but they said that was not possible. I would not want to be scammed, so went with a more trusted vendor for our second mattress a couple of weeks later. Be warned and prepared.

Moving into Apt. And needed a mattress, so one evening looked for deals online, called "Adam" (with…read more'Discount Beds") who said he had what I was looking for, ie. a full size hybrid (gel foam and pocketed coil springs), medium-firm support model. He explained that he was moving merchandise between shop locations and had some mattresses at his house in Everett, and suggested that I come over to the house on Cady Road. When I got there, Adam was trying to determine if his delivery truck was operational (it had a blown wheel hub), but had me come to the house; on the porch he showed me a Sealy mattress, wrapped in plastic, which the label rated as "plush". I told him that I needed a model that offered good back support, which is why I was looking for a hybrid model with gel foam padding. He insisted that ALL the latest Sealy models were firm, regardless of the model, and I shouldn't let the "Plush" label put me off. I asked whether this model had gel foam and internal, pocketed coils, he said that ALL the Sealy models anymore had those features. By then it was late, I was tired from moving all day, and believed I had found what needed. Adam quoted me a price, which for a hybrid model was pretty good ($275 w/delivery); I asked if I could charge it, but he said if I paid in cash, he wouldn't charge me the tax, and he could deliver it immediately. So I agreed, and he loaded it into an SUV, and with a helper, brought it to the apt. I wasn't going to stay in the apt. that night, so I didn't use the mattress then, and the next day I did some research online, and called the Sealy company. It turns out that this model is an older one (it was new/unused, but had been in someone's inventory for some time) and was considered a low-end model, not very durable, but suitable for growing adolescents, or as a guest bed, but NOT for adults who needed good back support. The Sealy rep. said that this model did NOT have gel foam padding and the internal springs were NOT pocketed. So Adam had lied about this mattress' qualities. He saw an easy mark and went for the con. I tried to work with him to exchange for a better model, and strung me along for two weeks, and when I tried to get him to follow through, he stopped responding to my calls. I texted him that I would report him to the State's Consumer Protection bureau, he replied "go ahead"... Adam had two phone numbers: one was to "NW Liquidators"; and the other listed as "Discount Beds". It appears that he runs both venues, as he is the only one who answers? Given this experience, I wouldn't recommend doing ANY commerce with either of these den of thieves...

I'd gone to several…read moredifferent furniture stores and narrowed down what I was looking for in terms of style and color, and the fact that I definitely wanted the brand, Stanton, but with the long lead times for all ordered furniture, was referred to Furniture World because they have access to a large number of styles in stock. Specifically, with Stanton. (If you're not aware, it's a furniture manufacturer based in Oregon with great quality and fabulous warranty.) Anyway, I went and Brandy was the PERFECT combination of available, helpful, and not pushy. I was able to explore and try different pieces, ask questions, and she gave great recommendations. She was beyond patient while I FaceTimed my husband, shared dimensions, and even helped me drag cushions outside to see the colors in the daylight. They have great availability for arranging delivery, and it's very reasonable. Another quick side note that just made me pleased to shop here: A gentleman came in while I was there looking for office chairs, and while it's not a product they sell, Brandy still gave him recommendations and advice on where to go for a good selection. Finally, the atmosphere among the people working there was exactly what you'd hope for. It's not a team of salespeople competing against each other for a sale, it's people that seemed to genuinely enjoy each other's company, chatting about life outside of work, what you'd hope for in a work environment.
