Tried my luck at other stores north of this one that might have just gotten a new light rail station (you know which one I'm talking about) but the service at Roosevelt was fantastic. Didn't catch the reps names (I think Jason or Eric or something and the blonde lady?) but they were top tier. Helpful tip for mattress shoppers: go to this location and try the purple 7k mattresss. My wife and I purchased a *great* mattress here about six months ago. We worked with Alissa. Alissa was extremely helpful and definitely customer focused. We needed a very firm bed and had purchased a latex bed from a competitor, but that bed turned out not to be firm enough, and were told when we bought it that it was the firmest latex bed they had. Alissa insisted that we go back to that store first to see if they had a firmer bed. unfortunately, the competitor did not have a firmer bed, and also (unlike MattressFirm) they had a no return policy. So we came back to MattressFirm and Alissa showed us what she said was the firmest mattress available, and it feels great! If you must shop here, know the store's return policies before you buy. I was told by a salesperson on the floor that I had a 120 day return policy on a mattress topper. I specifically asked the salesperson about their return policy and they ensured me that they "sanitize" their products, so I shouldn't have to worry about that. When I emailed the salesperson to initiate a return, they told me that my product "cannot be returned- the system won't allow for it and the managers above me will not make exceptions to that policy." So, I thought to myself "Well, I'm getting screwed over because this salesperson lied to me, unintentionally or not. At least I can take advantage of their price matching policy." The following day, I called the store and was helped by another salesperson. She kindly assisted me in matching the price of the product with a sale the manufacturer was running. In order to initiate that price match, she RETURNED the mattress topper and reran the sale at a lower price. So not only did the other salesperson misinform me about their return policy, they flat out LIED to me about what is possible in their system. Salt on the wound? In my e-mail to initiate the return, I the salesperson deflected my comments about how the product was causing me discomfort. Here's the line they fed me line: "Just like with a new mattress, your body has to adjust to changes in your sleep environment and nothing about the underlying support of your mattress has changed which is also why I believe it is likely just the transition period which can be longer for some folks than others and with time your body will be more happy with that topper there (for both comfort and support) than without it." Bull. This thing was bad for my back and I wasted time and money with this store. The salesperson used the phrase "I'm gonna be honest with you," a lot. If the salesperson helping you needs to remind themselves to be honest, it's likely they don't feel great about the product or policies they sell. Mattress Firm has given me a renewed appreciation for non-commission based retailers like Apple and Best Buy. This place is a sham. read more

She made sure I got the best bed for the best price. She was patient while I shopped and carefully explained what all the options were all the way up through final sales. Later when I came back into the store I was impressed to hear she is just as kind and thorough with other customers as she was with me. I think she is fabulous! "Sleep country USA, why buy a mattress when you need pants!" This store is exactly what every mattress store is, but with a silly jingle. You go in, people inside are bored or busy and not with helping you. Then when they help you they try to get rid of their old stuff first. Then when you sift through the miasma of confusion and surface finding the mattress you want they hit you with a haggle price. Then when you haggle them down you can maybe get a mattress at a good price. Which is typical. But don't think of all of that as a soul devouring experience that will give you ironic nightmares about the very bed you are sleeping on. Think of it as an adventure!!! That said, this would have been 1 star, but there is a female manager there who actually seems like she is not a total bed hawking evil money monger of doom. But a pretty decent person who is also tired of haggling and just wants to make decent money and give you a decent place to sleep. read more

Shopping for a mattress recently, my first thought was of Sleep Country USA - both because I bought from them the last time I needed a mattress, and because the Roosevelt store is only a few blocks from my house. I went to their website, and was immediately bothered by the fact that they have no prices listed - seemingly to force you into the showroom to do any comparison shopping. We went in and browsed a bit; the salesman was on the phone with a customer, so we didn't have to experience any high-power sales pitches. Checking the whole store, I was dismayed but not really surprised to realize that only a few of their cheapest-looking mattresses were under $1000 for a queen set. You're probably supposed to be able to haggle them down, but I hate haggling. We left before the salesman got off the phone and wound up buying a mattress a few days later at Everrest Mattress company in Queen Anne. read more

I do not recommend anyone shop at Sleep Country USA. I bought a fancy new style mattress -latex foam- in full faith that their warranty was appropriately designed for the mattress. Within 6 months, the mattress had developed a central divot, making it feel like a hammock- pulling my and my husband's body to the center of the mattress. We couldn't climb out of the divot because the mattress was sloping and we would eventually slide back down. I tried to get Sleep Country to honor the warranty and replace the mattress. they said I had to demonstrate more than one inch of deflection from level, in a photo and without anyone on the mattress. Well, that might be appropriate for an inner spring mattress, but our divot didn't show unless our weight was on the bed. Their answer was 'tough'. So now I have a mattress that I bought 18 months ago that has been giving both of us pain and disrupted sleep, and a company that promised a lifetime warranty that it won't honor. I am checking the mattress regularly to see if/when it meets Sleep Country's warranty criteria. I recently purchased a mattress, box spring, and bed frame from this store and felt the customer service was horrible, especially the service received from the warehouse. My purchases totaled $2700 and I had them delivered several days after purchasing them. On delivery attempt number 1 they arrived with a bed frame that had a crack in it. I spoke to someone at the warehouse regarding getting an undamaged product that I paid for delivered to me ASAP and they weren't budging and kept to the whole "we'll be there between 6 and 8" routine and wouldn't budge to fit me in on the days that would work for me. I spoke to someone at the retail store and we finally got a reasonable time for delivery. The delivery time was supposed to be between 6 and 8. I got a phone call at work at 4:45 stating they'd be there in 15 minutes. I called the retail store and nothing could be worked out so I left work 30 minutes early to try to get home, as the delivery crew said they'd try to wait. On my way home they called me and I told them I'd be there in 10 minutes but they left anyway. When I got home I called the retail store and at first they wouldn't budge and wanted to try the whole "Friday after 5pm" stuff. I got pretty upset and wanted to speak to a regional manager so the store manager asked "how can we best remedy this situation?" And I replied with "deliver the undamaged product that I paid a lot of money for tonight". To the store managers credit it was arranged for a team to deliver my bed frame that night but...... The delivery team showed up around 9:30 pm with yet ANOTHER damaged product!!!! They said someone would call me first thing the next morning. By lunchtime I had no messages or missed calls and called the retail store. They offered the same "Friday after 5" delivery window so I said I just wanted a refund and that this was horrible service and I was finished doing business with them. The manager then offered a discount on my bedsheets and I said no. Then his 2nd offer was 15% off of my entire order. I declined and said I'd continue if they gave me 30% off of my entire order, essentially making the bed frame free. Luckily they accepted this offer and I got a huge discount. I requested for the delivery crew to inspect the product before it was delivered the 3rd time and they said they would request that. When it was delivered for the 3rd time it had NOT been inspected but luckily it was not damaged. The people that I spoke to from the retail store were all helpful and polite and seemed frustrated by the situation. I just can't believe that the warehouse wasn't bending over backwards to keep my business after delivering and bad product TWICE. Buy your mattresses somewhere else! I accompanied my friend to this store to buy a mattress. They had a nice selection and the employee working was very friendly and courteous. The mattresses are a little expensive, but they all seemed to be great quality. When you think about how much time you spend sleeping in your bed, I guess it doesn't hurt to shell out a little extra cash to buy a nicer mattress. My family moved to Seattle over the summer. Initially, I thought we were going to be using our old queen-size mattress, so I went to Sleep Country to get a basic metal frame. However, we later decided to get a king-size mattress instead. Not only that, but we had an ad for a Costco mattress with a very good price. Not only did the Sleep Country guys allow me to return the queen-size frame, but they also beat the Costco price, gave us an equally good deal on a pair of double-size mattresses, they threw in a king-size metal frame for no additional cost, AND they didn't charge us for delivery. We had some custom bedroom furniture built (not at Sleep Country). When it was delivered, we no longer had any need for the king-size frame. Also, we have a fairly small place and I had no room to store the frame, so I called the Sleep Country guys back to see if they would take it back (remember they never charged me for it in the first place). They said "sure, no problem". THIS is the kind of business I like dealing with. They offer good deals and they're willing to be helpful and flexible, even when they are presented with situations that are non-standard. read more

I think we could tell we were poor and didn't try to upsell us, which was great: We went in saying we had $500 to buy a mattress and Alan helped us find one in our budget. Plus, it was pretty fun playing on the mattresses. I can't really imagine anything else I would want in a mattress-buying experience. If someone asked me, "Where should I go to buy a mattress?" My husband and I bought a mattress, box spring and bed frame from this location. The mattress had to be replaced after a few months - luckily it was still under warranty, but what poor quality. It bowed out like a pancake. Most recently, the metal bed frame cracked and collapsed the bed right under us after two years. Luckily our cat wasn't sleeping underneath, or he would surely have been crushed to death. When we took the frame back to the store, the employee said, "Well, those frames aren't meant to last more than a year." Uh...then why are they selling this junk in the first place? We will never purchase anything from this company again. Run! read more

I bought a brand new, queen sized Simmons Beautyrest Boardwalk Plush from Sleep Country a little less than 3 years ago. At first it was very comfortable and I slept very well, probably because my previous mattress was a freebie that sagged terribly in the middle. Well, the comfort didn't last. The mattress is of course one sided, so it cannot be flipped. It has no handles so moving with it was a pain. The box spring they bundled with it has always been a piece of junk and the plastic corner protectors ripped and fell off almost immediately. The frame they gave me is your typical cheap metal frame on wheels. Two of the wheels routinely fall off when the bed gets moved. Now, probably due to the cheap frame and box spring I was given, the mattress is failing. One of the springs on the side has completely collapsed. Now the fabric on top of the mattress bunches and causes discomfort. Any time I sleep too close to the side with the collapsed spring I get very bad back and hip pain. I contacted Sleep Country hoping they would live up to the 10 year warranty that I was sold on. They don't. My mattress doesn't have a dip of the required 1.5 inches (even though any dip of more than 1/2 inch would be incredibly uncomfortable!) so it's not considered defective. In the warranty packet that they sent I was asked if my box spring has any rips or stains. It does, due to its own poor quality. The top of the box spring has a very visibly grid pattern stain from the metal inside rubbing on the fabric under the weight of the mattress. There is also a mysterious rust stain on the underside that must be from the factory because it's always been on the bed frame, which has no rusting. Admitting that my box spring is stained and torn voided my entire warranty. I clearly stated in my follow-up email to Sleep Country that the damage to the box spring is a result of its lack of structural integrity and that the white mattress is nearly spotless. If you check out the Better Business Bureau's website you will find that Sleep Country is neither accredited or known for honoring warranties. Had I know this 3 years ago I would've gone somewhere else. read more

So far we are satisfied with what we bought but our buying experience was awful. The salesman was pushy, and we expected that, but my husband dealt with him pretty well. The salesman kept insisting that we liked mattresses we didn't like, clearly trying to sell us a more expensive mattress that we didn't want. We should have just left at this point, but we are busy parents and this was the only Saturday we had to do this for months. So we stayed and eventually found something we really liked. We were prepared to pay cash for the mattress but are trying to build our credit up so we can buy a house in a year. The salesman offered us a financing option that had no interest if paid off in 6 months. No prob, we could pay it off asap. This is where it gets sketchy. We fill out the paperwork and qualified, and he goes over everything with us. He insists there are no fees and that this is a completely free financing option as long as we pay it off after 6 months. After we're done he hands us a paper about our "new mattress lease" because apparently the "finance option" was to lease the mattress through a third party, and if you pay it off through them in 6 months there's no interest. But that third party leasing company owns your mattress. We were led to believe we were financing directly with Mattress Firm, but after all the paper was signed (that had Mattress Firm letterhead) we were told that no, Mattress Firm doesn't do financing. We were livid. There was nothing we could do about it though because everything had already been signed and filed online and we couldn't get out of it. We just resolved to pay it off the second we got a bill so we could be rid of the whole ordeal. But we never got a bill. After a few weeks I found the leasing company's website and went online to make payments after I noticed they'd taken a weird amount out of our account. Turns out they had charged us a $150 leasing fee just to set up the financing option. And they wouldn't drop it. We paid it off and got rid of it but they do not make it easy to pay it off, and I had to request a payoff amount, wait several days for it, then request the payoff amount drafted from the account. At that point I was told there may be one more payment drafted due to interest that has already been accrued, which should not have been the case since I asked for a payoff amount. They didn't end up drafting another payment, and we are done with these fools. I will never shop at one of these stores again. read more
