This place is the best. The staff is genuinely great and not extra like they've just successfully completed the official corporate personality training. The chai here is the best I've ever had. If you're tired of the typical sticky syrupy "chai-flavored beverage" with too much sugar and cloves, try this place. It actually tastes like tea. UPDATE: An obsessive friend of mine roasts his own coffee (seriously, ain't nobody got time for that) so to annoy him, I send him bags of evil pre-roasted store-bought coffee from shops I like. This is one of my favorite coffee shops in downtown Vancouver. They have really unique seasonal drinks and flavors and a good selection of pastries. There are ample power outlets, which is very important to me, because I often go to coffee shops to work and study. Also, there are several metered parking spots just outside (free on weekends!!), so no stress looking for parking. Only cons are: the drinks are pretty overpriced ($5+ for 12 oz seasonal latte) and the decor is "minimalist" which looks cute, but also means there is not enough seating/table space. I prefer function over fashion, but at least it looks pretty! read more

Nice little place and I put the emphasis on little as it only has 3 two seat tables and a couple of short benches without tables. The coffee was good but weak. If you're planning to sit for awhile and do some computer work you'd be better off going to Starbucks. This, in my opinion, is kind of an in and out kind of place. It's unfortunate I haven't been here more since I live next door - I love that they're open at 6AM unlike a lot of the local coffee shops in this neighborhood. Their coffee is great. I came in craving a caramel machiatto (yeah, sue me - I love Starbucks coffee drinks!) but they didn't have caramel. The barista improvised with some sort of mexican flavoring he had and it actually ended up tasting pretty unique and better than the caramel machiatto. The guys who work here at super friendly and it's a cool little joint. Nothing crazy here - just some small pastries and straightforward coffee/nitro. Worth a visit! read more

Pros: amazing beautiful space, fair prices, drinks are top shelf, super friendly staff. Cons: LOUD LOUD LOUD. I tried to work here with sound canceling headphones and I could still hear everything. This place is 70-75 decibels loud. I would just grab a drink and leave but part of the reason I goto a coffee shop is enjoy the surroundings. Loudest coffee spot I've been to, was unable to hold a conversation with the person next to me. First: I love Relevant. The dudes are so incredibly friendly, and they make amazing coffee. I just want to get that out of the way before I say a mean thing, as is my custom. So you know I don't like kids, right? And I don't think kids belong in places like bars, fancy salons, or really most public areas tbh. Relevant is not what I would call childproof, or even child-friendly in its layout and decor. There is no seating, the space is small, and there are adults carrying hot liquids. For some reason nearly every time we visit, there are multiple small children running around practically begging to have drinks spilled on them. Lucky for them I drink only cold coffee, so my shit always has a lid on it. One recent memorable time, someone was only watching one of their children, and the other one came up to me and said, "You have big boobies." "Yes I do!", I replied, and then remembered why I tend to favor drive-thru coffee shacks. Anyway, the drinks at Relevant are exceptional, but you should try to cover your boobs, unless you feel like talking about them with children. Spoiler: I do not! That is gross. read more

Weekly customers. We love patronizing coffee roasters, as the coffee always seems to taste better because it's much fresher. We always get a mocha breve. Great coffee taste (not burnt). They use chocolate from Ranger Chocolate in Portland (and Ranger Chocolate aka Cup & Bar sells Relevent coffee & their Cold Brew). They also sell locally baked pastries, which are also delicious. This is a great place. We often meet for short meetings at relevant coffee. Staff is cordial and friendly. Whether you have one of those fancy coffees or just a drip it's a great place to go. There's enough Cozy to satisfy even the quietest of people. Kind of cool they've got their own roasting machine now. They'll even let me get 2 shots of each current roast (choice of 2 roasts) fresh ground, for the same price, whereas many coffee shops nearby will charge you for 2 drinks, instead of just adding $1 or $2's for the extra shots (most places pull doubles, and not singles). read more

This is a local coffee roaster with some of the friendliest people in Vancouver. Seriously. There's a level of love and authenticity here that you don't get many places. More importantly, they're coffee is consistently great. I would tell you to get a shot of espresso (which range from great to life-changing), but their drip coffee is pretty awesome, as are their mixed drinks (cap, latte, cortado, etc.) In other words: when in doubt, ask what's good and you won't be disappointed. They have nitro cold brew too, if you're into that. Oh. And they have a non-dairy milk based on oats, which froths really decently in a cap (coconut, almond, etc. doesn't froth that well usually). It's a pretty big deal, judging from the number of people I overhear ordering it. Relevant also represents at the Vancouver Farmer's Market on Saturdays/Sundays. They just have drip and cold brew, I believe, but it's the same level of quality as you'd get in the shop. Conclusion: Relevant is new, but killing it. I'd say they have the best coffee in Vancouver, served by some of the friendliest people. read more

Relevant coffee is one of my favorite coffee shops in the Portland - Vancouver metro area. They have by far one of the best lattes I've ever tasted. Unlike other coffee shops Relevant's lattes keep there sweetness until the last sip. Others began to fade and have a bitter taste at the end. As well, Relevant roast their own coffee. Relevant has delicious brews and it's in a clean, modern atmosphere. The baristas (baristo's...?) are more than happy to explain how they make the drinks, what the different kinds of coffees are, how they're sourced, how to make your own exquisite coffee - basically anything coffee they take the time to thoroughly explain and don't make you feel silly for asking (like some coffee shops I've been to). After moving from Texas, and not know much about good coffee, they were very helpful and friendly in educating me. I have gotten their version of a pumpkin spice latte, their regular drip, vanilla latte, and americano. Although the Americano is my favorite, I have to say that all of their coffee is fantastic. I always come back for more! And I would highly recommend it to anyone in the neighborhood. read more

The espresso pulls are on the weak side, the Columbia beans are bitter side and the foam isn't quite there. The lattes are barely warm and the drip coffee is bitter.
