Called on Wednesday morning 1.31.24 at 8:30am and gave all the details of my vehicle for my windshield replacement and fortunately they had one in stock. They also could fit me in at 1:00pm that day, which was incredibly lucky for me, as a big storm was coming through and I needed to come from the mountains and get back to the mountains before it got too bad. I arrived 15 min early, went in and checked in right away with Hilton, who told me they could take the vehicle immediately. So I sat on the couch, read a home decor magazine they had (along with newspapers, etc), played on my phone, and by 1:20pm Hilton told me the car was out in the parking lot already, and just needed 10 min to cure. My Toyota Rav4 developed a significant crack in the windshield. My deductible is $500, so the repair would be out of pocket. I checked with one of the heavily advertised national chains. Their website said the out of pocket would be zero. Sounded like a good deal. I'd have to go to Rocklin, about 35 miles away. It also turned out that my cost would be close to $450 the fine print on the website said "as low as zero." Hm. I had made an appointment but canceled it. I called Reliable, a local company, got an appointment ten days away. I arrived at the shop 20 minutes ahead of time. They started on my car in about ten minutes. Their waiting area is clean and neat, with a coffee station and very comfortable seating. It reminded me of a Porsche dealership--they want you to be comfy while they work on your $150,000 car (I drive a Porsche but not one of the super fancy ones. Mine's a classic.) They finished in less than the promised 45 minutes. The cost was $345, entirely reasonable. If you're unfortunate enough to need a new windshield, I can't think of a better place. read more

Update/edit: The owner reached out and apologized for the damaged and offered to replace the damaged part. As for the smoked top portion, apparently there is only green/blue available for my vehicle which wasn't communicated when I had asked multiple times about. So as for that I'll bump it to 4 stars. As the rest of the experience was good. Won't go back. I asked on countless occasions for black smoke tint on the top 4" and I ended up with blue. Broke my driver side window deflectors. Having just left this place after paying 240$ to have my driver side window fixed after get to gn it broken into - I will say I would never recommend this place to anyone. I should've known something was up when they said they'd be done in an hour with my window. The photos are self explanatory - glass pieces stuck in my window that I won't even be able to remove because of the new window being put in because they couldn't do something as simple as cleaning up the mess of the broken glass before putting in the new glass even though I told them what happened to my car and why I needed a new window. A horrendous job whatever they did left a long line of melted rubber along the new window and faulty wiring that now leaves me unable to roll the window down. This is about auto glass in Grass Valley. I recently took my BMW there because the rubber gasket was getting old and showed some cracks. The windshield was perfect. So the problem was cosmetics. Danielle explained that there was a good possibility that I needed to replaced the whole thing because removal of the seal may result in breaking the windshield. They then ordered the right windshield. However, they found out later that the seal was removed successfully with no damage to the windshield. So they charged for replacing of the rubber gasket only, which saved me a lot of money. This is what you call a good professional and honest service. This people deserve a lot of credit; many services these days do not show this kind of ethics and integrity. I highly recommend them. read more

Doe you ever deal with a business so good you are excited to give them a 5 star review? It's not very common these days, but Reliable Auto Glass made our day. A couple of times! When we got a rock chip, my insurance company recommended them, and they were very quick to get us in, and did 100% of the paperwork. Super easy! And, their shop is clean & fresh, with free coffee, water, and a TV in the waiting room. (They offered to come to our house too, but my wife was running to town.) They were fast and friendly, and my wife even commented on how nice it was there, and she is picky! A few days afterwards, the rearview mirror fell off the inside of the windshield (16 year old GMC Yukon), far from where the rock chip was repaired. We call to see if they could reattach it and they said yes, just drop in. Turns out this is common with this era of GMCs, but Reliable fixed it ANYWAY, and did it FOR FREE. How great was THAT? I had to take my car to Tripp's and turn in into my insurance because of what they did.
