I have dealt with Custom Climates before and it has always been a pleasant experience. Yesterday, Josh came to check out the vibration problem. I understand that it's impossible to diagnose he problem when it is not presenting itself. It's much like your car. If the error code is not showing, it's next to impossible to fix it. I wish I could give them 6 stars. They are extremely knowledgeable and have a great way of explaining things especially to someone who doesn't know hvac. We were quoted $18,000 from One Source. Do not use one source, they are hustlers and are only interested it seems in getting as much money as they can from someone. Our furnace is old but still working and our ac is only 5 years old but was struggling to cool. One Source said we needed to replace the entirety of the ac and furnace because our furnace was going to eventually go out too. Mind you our furnace works fine and has zero issues heating our home. Our issue was the ac. Finally we were directed to Custom Climate Professionals and while they did give us options up to replacing basically everything, they were honest and said there was no need to have to do that at this time. So they wound up replacing the blower motor, fixed all of the duct work issues which were choking off the air flow, created a bigger filter cabinet and did some other modifications along with a larger coil. The end result after everything was said and done was a MASSIVE increase in airflow, zero freezing up issues, a much cleaner install and a filter system that helps clean the air without it affecting the air flow and it was 1/3 the price we had been quoted by one source. Also the only thing that's not new now is our outside condenser which as I said is only 5 years old. These folks are honest, knowledge and fair and they do fantastic work. After setting up an appointment and making multiple calls, the "professional" was a no-show. The company ignored my calls for a couple days and when they did answer, no apology was made. They said the next soonest available appointment was December 2nd, over a month away. My furnace kind of needed attention sooner than that (sarcasm intended). read more

I'm extremely disappointed by my experience with this company. I was referred to them by my home warranty company, and the service request was accepted on Monday 10/27. My home warranty company shared that vendors are contractually required to schedule service within 24hrs, and complete service within 3-5 business days. I did receive an initial call to schedule service, but was unable to pick up due to my own work schedule. I returned the call about 30 minutes later to schedule service and got voicemail. I called daily Tuesday-Friday in an attempt to get my service scheduled, and never received a callback (for a service I already paid my home warranty company for). I finally got someone on the phone on Friday 10/31 after calling a 5th time that week. I explained that I was attempting to schedule through my home warranty company, and the timeline my home warranty company told me was the expectation (3-5 business days to complete service). I was told the earliest I could be booked would be 12/2, which is not even close to the contract range, and was told by the receptionist that there's a chance my appointment could be "bumped" to accommodate emergencies first. While I understand there are busy seasons and uncontrollable circumstances that may hinder things at times, to me it seems inappropriate to accept a service request when unable to fulfill it in a timely manner, and unable to call back your customer. Maybe this was a fluke, but I'm extremely disappointed with my experience, and did share with my home warranty company and was able to receive a refund since the company was unable to fulfill the service according to the contract timeline. I hope this is something the company improves in the future. read more

This is the best experience I've ever had with an HVAC crew, and I appreciate everything they did to resolve the issues by replacing our furnace, fixing the airflow, and bring all of it up to code (along with our AC unit). Incredibly Rude, Impolite and Opinionated Summary: "Technician" Charlie McCombs was incredibly rude from the moment we met. Ultimately, he left the residence after a non-stop rant about how the heating system design was the problem and he refused to trouble-shoot the issue. Another company quickly discovered the thermostat had failed. So simple, yet apparently beyond Mr. McCombs' skills to identify. Background: Not only did Mr. McCombs (later determined to be part owner) relentlessly launch a verbal attack about the heating system's design - which worked wonderfully for 8 years - he refused to enter the basement citing alleged code violations and safety concerns. It was not until I offered to show him how to enter the basement (I'm a 63-year-old man) did he decide it was manageable. After Mr. McCombs removed the furnace cover, he casually suggested the internal electronics board "might" need to be replaced - but neglected to investigate further. I found his lack of professionalism and unwillingness to identify the root cause deeply disappointing. He continued to harp-on about the basement and the heater's purportedly flawed design as he hastily exited the premises. In the end, another company promptly identified the thermostat to be faulty and replaced it - and now the furnace is operating again. The solution was remarkably straightforward, contrasting sharply with Mr. McCombs' apparent reluctance or incapacity to resolve the issue. Mr. McCombs - just so you know, the basement is not "out of code" as you so insistently and relentlessly hammered me about. The house was built in late 1800's and the City of Colorado Springs "Building and Permits" department told me it was perfectly legal, being "Grandfathered" and only requiring updates if remodeled. read more

Contractor came to the site and did not even evaluate the issue, made an excuse and left. Very unprofessional.

I spoke with the Manager, Charlie, to raise concerns about his front desk rep being rude and condescending to me while attempting to schedule an appointment through my home warranty company. The Manager interrupted me, raised his voice, told me to "do what I'm told" repeatedly, and cancelled my appointment. After speaking with my Home Warranty Company, they said the Contractor was incorrect, said they'd assign me to another Contractor using the same work order, and elevated everything to their Contractor Review Team for an evaluation of their business based on how poorly they treated me. I also read another review of this company being "hostile" to customers. That review also said there was a pattern of similar negative reviews on their Facebook page. It looks like their Facebook page has since been taken down. I'd think twice about working with this company. There's never any excuse for a company to treat their customers so poorly. It's unprofessional and the other customer's assessment of "hostile" feels accurate. UPDATE on 9/29: My Home Warranty Company called me yesterday just before the Managers reply below. They offered to reassign me to this same HVAC company (as they didn't have anyone else available at the time) and said they'd have the Manager apologize to me. They said the HVAC Company had already accepted the new ticket. I turned down their offer and said I didn't feel comfortable working with this company. My home warranty company said they'd cancel my ticket with Custom Climate Professionals yesterday, and now the Manager responded with this rude and threatening message. I'm aware this HVAC company has "action" being taken against them from my home warranty company based on what happened, so I'm guessing that prompted the lashing out response where they're attempting to twist things around. All of my home warranty companies calls are recorded and they take notes which can document everything I'm saying is true. read more

Have worked with them years ago, bought an older house last year and had them replace the ac, then furnace. it is a big job when you go from a 4 ton to a 5 ton due to the air flow you need! I used Custom Climate Professionals five months ago but wanted to wait till now to post my review. A little background, my wife & I purchased a four years old Ranch style house with a walk-out basement in Monument, CO. The issue we had was not unusual for this type of house, that being in Winter upstairs was HOT, downstairs was COLD. Summer, upstairs was hard to keep cool and downstairs would be COLD. But in our case it was extreme. We tried all the normal things to "even out" the whole house. So we called Custom Climate Professionals. From start to finish, they were a dream to work with. Professional, excellent communication, kind, thoughtful,l, and very fair pricing. Found out that the builder ( Yes we tried to deal we them to no eval) had put in an "undersized furnace & small fan size". The solution we choose ( not pressured) was to upgrade our furnace to match the house ducking & size. We also upgraded the furnace to a 95% efficiency, along with a three-speed fan. So we got to use it during summer & now winter. WOW, what a huge positive difference it has made!! Not only is our house now balanced correctly, but the unit is also so very quiet and our utility bill has been cut in half. I greatly appreciate the whole crew that worked on the project, but also the office as well! Can't recommend them enough!! read more

I love these people. I've had several of their workers and the owner on my property to do various HVAC things over the last six years. Recently we put our house up for sale and moved across country. We got a contract on the house and that's when the fun started. The buyers agent decides to play games. To make a long story short, my wife and I were put into an almost impossible situation if it was not for Josh and his team. I had three days to move mountains but I was not there to do so. These guys went to work and helped me accomplish an impossible task. They did this the next day and this was a week before Christmas. Not only that but the charge was extremely good. It's saved us a lot of money and heartache. Don't even think about it. Use these guys first. I just wish I could take them cross country with us. They honored the yelp discount and were always available when I had questions even being out of state. I had another issue with another part and they were to my house repairing the problem within 30 minutes. Josh and his team are top notch and true professionals. They came out and bid quickly, got the parts in fast and we had relief from the awful heat that broiled us (at one point it was over 90 in my bedroom!) We have been so thankful to have cool air!!! There were a few hiccups with the way that our system has been draining but Josh has been so responsive to adjust things quick even though his schedule has to be packed with the temperatures being so high. We had gotten several bids before we chose Josh and his team-not one of them was more polite or patient with questions. In fact, we had several very reputable companies come try to give us quotes which included unnecessary items that drove up the cost. Our AC went out and they were contracted to come out and fix it. They gave us a 30 day guarantee the motor went out and the owner came out and explained why the motor kept going out. They are now fixing the problem so that the motor doesn't go out again. Extremely professional and honest working people that are in it for the people and not the money. I researched multiple HVAC companies in Colorado Springs and came across Custom Climate Professionals via "Aprilaire" website.  I looked at their website and noticed they were authorized Aprilaire and "TRANE" authorized installers.  Additionally, I liked the fact that I sent them an email on a Sunday and they responded quickly. We set up a consult, afterwards, Charlie and Josh (owner operators) arrived on time and ready for discussions. My family and I were extremely impressed with their presentation, knowledge and attention to detail.  They asked questions of what our needs and expectations were, and listened to our concerns and situation.   They said they would send us a quote, based on our requirements, which arrived on schedule, with details of what we discussed.  I must admit, I researched the products and noticed they were spot on with pricing. We committed to the entire list, for two reasons; price and 1 year interest free financing. On the day of install, Charlie, Josh and awesome assistant Edward arrived on time and explained everything they were going to do as well as the technology behind the products.  Additionally, my wife and I were very impressed at the time they took to explain system operation and maintenance of the system (Aprilaire filter and Trane AC unit).   Post install, I and regional inspection office, were very impressed with the attention of detail of the install. I realize that my furnace quit working on Friday they came out and checked it Saturday they assess the situation they ordered a motor for the furnace they installed it on Tuesday and they had to come out 5 days later and put a new belt in they were great very professional and accommodating for my needs for my furnace and making the transition of the new motor a lot less stressful read more
