There are several Indian markets in Roseville. I've visited them all now that I discovered Reliance SuperMart. Of all the stores this market is the largest and possible has the largest variety of merchandise. I've eaten a good amount of Indian food over the past 72 years. I like the less spicy classic dishes found in northern Indian cuisine. Truth be told the most delicious and elegant Indian restaurant food I've eaten is in a myriad of places in London England. Anyway I stopped in here to wander through the entire market to see what's on the shelves, freezers, fridges and produce cabinets. I bought a dozen items. The prices are on par or even a little lower than other Indian markets in Roseville. Fresh turmeric rhizomes at $5.99 pound is 70% cheaper than Safeway. I gave just a sideways glance at the bakery and kitchen area. I will return soon to sample a lunch plate. I'll write an update after that meal. read more

Amazing Indian Grocery Store and Cafe! Awesome Dosas! Delicious Padpri Chaat! Chola Buchura is off the chain! I am sorry I am butchering the spellings but I am trying. Either way, the cafe is amazing! Fast food and amazing people! Everyone is so nice here and the selection of groceries is vast. You can get everything from fresh veg to frozen meals and quick mix utma. Dosa's are my favorite this ever. Whenever I am craving a Dosa, I come here. Easy, fast, delicious. I get my seasonings from here , they have a bakery inside and have so many delish goodies the pastries are amazing and they do single slices of egg free cake as well as hot food its all so good. They have fresh produce too! read more

A few days ago I tried the "Spring Dosa" from the cafe in the back of Reliance Supermarket. Wow! It was soooo good! The dosa was perfect, as usual. The veggies inside were perfectly stir fried and the potato-lentil filling was so good. The lentil soup it came with was especially tasty, as was the wonderful coconut dipping sauce. This is my new favorite. My dinner companions decided they want to try it, too, the next time we go there. read more

We tried the samosa chaat and the veggie pastry puffs. Both were very good. The chaat had some good flavors, and in fact we both agreed to try their samosas separately next time. The pastry puffs are a nice light snack, and the filling was tasty. Service was a little weird. The lady at the cafe area seemed nice enough, but some people are just not made for a customer-facing position. She made it seem like the customers were annoying her. To be fair some of them were asking some silly questions. Overall we will be back to try other items. read more

I had a great experience during my first visit here today. The store is super clean, well stocked and very organized. I was approached within a few minutes and assisted in selecting a few ingredients. I didn't get the gentleman's name, but he was very kind and professional. I like this store. It's by far the nicest one we have in Roseville. It's also big and has a nice selection of fresh produce and frozen aisles. They run a side food business where they have items like dosa and chole bahture. We have tried both and thought they were not bad. What I don't like is that their prices on pretty much all grocery items are higher than other stores which keeps me away from Reliance mostly. read more

We have been coming here since it open. But today the food side restaurant a worker named Chaziya the chef was Extremely rude. Had to show my credit card statement to show her , That I come there all the time . She acted like she owned the store and her made up rules didn't make no sense. This is a fantastic market! Very spacious, very clean, the staff is welcoming and nice, great shopping all around! They have a good selection of fresh vegetables and fruits, and a large, well stocked refrigerated and frozen section. Big selection of dal, spices, rice, snacks, everything you need (and more) basically. The bakery looks amazing, but we haven't tried anything from there YET (definitely next time we're in, though). The aisles are wide and easy to navigate, we had no trouble finding everything we were looking for. Also, I'm so happy to have found Reliance, since it's closer to our house, and now I don't have to drive all the way across town anymore (especially with gas prices so high, right?) I am super excited that this store opened up. They can smile and greet people that would be great plus . The food section is great. It's convenient. Certain things were over priced such as baked beans lol. I can get it at $1.99 when here it was 2.99. Well it's a beginning and hopefully they can get some Fiji Indian oriented food as well like Tin mutton and lamp chops. However it's a nice store . It's convenient and a great location. Very rude staff and horrible customer service. Very impatient when it comes to answering/ helping customers. Staff indulged in their personal chit chats than attending customers. Watch out for duplicate charges and miscellaneous charges in your receipt. Prices are expensive when compared with other local stores but this Store do have wide range of products. No improvement in the customer treatment inspite of multiple feedbacks. Couple of friends stopped going to this store because of these issues. Management should step in soon and take corrective actions to prevent further damage to their reputation. read more

Well organized and clean. But way too expensive. Most items are overpriced by at least 25% compared to other stores. Some prices are twice the normal price. In fact I found prices for the exact same items cheaper even at Hawaii. Told the owners several times about it and they just ignore it. read more

I noticed a new market opened next to one of my taco spots and decided to pop in and give it a look. I was getting ready to start experimenting with some Indian cooking and was in need of some spices so this worked out perfectly. It is a decent sized market (think neighborhood market, not Costco). The place is brand new and very clean as well. They seemed to have a good selection of most items, multiple brands too. As a fairly newcomer to cooking South Asian cuisine (although long time connoisseur!) I cannot speak to whether or not they have the best brands or competitive pricing on some of these items. I will say the product seems to be priced well in addition to some other staples I am more familiar with in terms of price. The days I visited there were a few people shopping as well. Both times an employee asked me if I needed help finding anything (as I wondered around looking lost) which I did, and it was always right next to where I was looking! Overall on my first few visits I was happy and will definitely return. read more

Pretty good place for Indian groceries. I am going to agree with some comments of other reviewers..Employees didn't seem to be the biggest fans of wearing masks. The other customers in the store were all wearing them when I went though. Prices are not the cheapest. We did find some good prices on sale items though. They do have a fairly good selection, for most items I was shopping for, it seemed I had 2-3 different brands to choose from. They did have fresh vegetables too, but the prices were definitely on the higher end. I did really like the masala dosa in the cafe. It was a good value at $6.50. I will ask for the masala on the side next time though instead of stuffed if I am doing takeout. Their sambhar that went along with it was pretty good too. If you are a fan of green chutney, I would recommend you try theirs. I really liked my sambhar dosa a lot more with the green chutney and the coconut chutney. We also ordered the pani puri. The pani was actually pretty tasty, but the puris are super small! I don't think I have ever ordered pani puri anywhere else and had the puris be that small. Also, would be better if they didn't fill them for you. They put chutney in them and if you decided to eat something else first, the puris will be soggy when you get to them. They did have a buy 1 get 1 special on pav bhaji the day I went, but we didn't try it. Maybe next time. Overall great, would have been 5 stars if they had better (non-sale) everyday prices and took wearing masks more seriously. read more
