My friend took me here and I was SO excited!! Bought some pork belly, fish, matcha powder, some snacks and kimchi!! Everything was so fresh and at home - it was all delicious!! This will be my new favorite market. Service was very nice and friendly. The place was clean organized! I can't wait to come back and purchase more :)

2 item combo.....FYI: the containers are cups and they don't use regular clamshell containers!

What a disappointment....this review is for the hot food section.... Ordered a 2 item combo and was shocked at how it was served. I was literally given 3 SMALL cups that had the pancit, rice and chicken adobo (see photo). I was expecting an actual food clamshell container but this was ridiculous. The total came out to be about $14 and definitely not worth it....

I love coming here. They have most things I need for a region that is mostly catered towards the majority. My favorite is that they have boba & a Filipino restaurant in this store as well! So good, tastes like home to me! They are welcoming to everyone as well. Ask questions on what they have and they will gladly let you know what they have. It is a small convenient store but I guarantee they have the ingredients needed for asian cuisine.

This Filipino market has grown through the 10+ years of its existence. It started as a market selling Filipino grocery items, then evolved by adding a kitchen vending "turo-turo" viands from renowned Pinoy cuisine like lechon kawali and lumpiang shanghai to the lesser known dishes like ginataang langka (unripe jackfruit in coconut stew) and mechadong baka (beef stew). Still a convenient place to buy ingredients for Filipino recipes but remains pricey with staples like vegetables and rice.

Stopped in at the Oriental Market this weekend. It had been a while since we were last there. However ... it is always an interesting experience, and we consistently buy a few things that are not on our shopping list. This time we did not even have a list. We arrived mid-day on a weekend and the place was packed with both food items and "people". Walking in, I noticed that the checkout line was long, but it moved pretty quickly. Our purchases included oysters, shrimp, scallops and shrimp dumplings. While we have only tried the oysters and scallops thus far, they were delicious. Note: they also have a small food court. If you have not been, check this place out.

Yes, as an island boy, I always try to stop by The Oriental Market when I can. There is just so much to choose from. My choice if precise is always the Manapua (Pork Bun). The are very big, yummy and hit the spot. Okay, I'll admit that there are not the kind we used to get at the truck at Sandy Beach (Sandy's) on Oahu back in the 70s, but these are definitely better the ones at my local L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. Obviously, they do run out, which is a bummer, so try and get there early. The store is always crowded, which is obvious. My only puzzling issue is they don't have Guava: fresh, frozen, or otherwise. That being said, if you're looking for some yummy food, snacks, ingredients, stop by here.

    Lots of parking

Super clean! Very well stocked and very nice not having to go to a huge market! Found everything needed and more! Definitely a regular at this market!

Parking was easy with plenty of spaces out front, service was great and friendly. Seating space? Extremely limited, especially if you have a party of 5 or more. Best to order for takeout food which brings me to my main point - if I have to order Filipino takeout because of extremely limited seating, I'd rather simply get a la carte elsewhere and pay a lot less or hit up Rocklin area where there are restaurants that serve fantastic boba drinks with fantastic Filipino dishes for much more affordable prices! Is the food incredible? Yes! Will it satisfy your craving for Filipino food? Absolutely! Would I return? No, I wouldn't, to be perfectly honest. Regardless, I feel it's worth a try if you haven't yet but just be mindful of the highs and lows. It's not all great, but it's not all bad. Mediocre and average, at the very least, given all factors. I didn't get to explore it much today, but the hot food counter is right when you walk in. I was instantly greeted and felt very welcome; the lady at the counter was extremely helpful. I wanted a plate with pancit, adobo, and lechon, and she said they had all of it. I also wanted to grab some lumpia and longanisa, but I decided to save that for my second trip. This massive plate, easily enough for two meals, came out to just under $13, which is insane. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes with hot food in hand. In terms of value, time, and service, this place is already killing it. But is the food good? It was perfect and exactly what I wanted today. Filipino cuisine isn't the healthiest, admittedly, just like one of my own cuisines, Mexican food. Probably best in moderation, but I digress. Sometimes you just want to indulge, and that's okay. From my limited knowledge, Filipino food is very meat-heavy, so come prepared for really flavorful, fatty, and meaty dishes. Now, onto the plate. The lechon, one of my all-time favorites, was perfectly crispy, juicy, and succulent. It was amazing dipped in what I believe is a liver-based sauce called "sarsa." It isn't really liver-y or gravy-like in flavor. Only the texture is gravy-like. The taste is sweet, tangy, and slightly acidic. Honestly, one of the most balanced sauce-to-meat combos ever. Perfect. The pork adobo was really good, too. I usually prefer chicken adobo, but pork is customary. It was definitely richer than the lechon, still delicious, but a lot to finish in one sitting. I always love the stewed texture and aromatic flavors of adobo. The pancit was a little different from what I'm used to. It seemed like it was cooked with a sauce and had a thicker noodle mixed in with the more familiar glass noodles, but it was still delicious. I loved that there were lots of veggies and even pieces of pork in it. This is a great place to stop by and indulge. They are serving excellent food and portions at a very commendable price point. I will definitely be back to try more, especially some of their baked goods like señorita bread. Awesome experience. I've said in other reviews how much I love traditional grocery stores that also serve hot food. Very fortunate to have so many to explore in the North Highlands area.
